The furry arm seems to have to take a moment to quickly rest; giving Renathan a moment to do something. He takes a quick run and makes a flying leap across large furry arm, aiming for the stallion's back. He knew that the stallion was at least twice as strong as him; so whenever he lands on the stallion's back he clings on with all four limbs. The stallion leaps up and kicks both legs in the back; knocking the other huge furry arm away. At this, he stomps his front legs down on the tentacle. Each easily defeated limb dissolves into the nasty, rancid acid that burned away the grass but did not affect the rock. Renathan clings on to the stallion until the horrible limbs are all vanquished. The strange shifting eldritch horror was easily seen clearly now; even by Renathan. He fixes his eyes on it, and clings onto the stallion.

The stallion also focuses his eyes on the opponent; who was already regrowing limbs and preparing to drop them. He lowers his head and charges at the opponent, carrying Renathan on his back. Thankfully, Renathan was a savant at Riding; he could pretty much ride anything. He couldn't steer the stallion like this since he didn't bring the bridle; but the stallion was indeed trained to carry a rider otherwise. He simply holds on to the stallion; and the stallion once again strikes a beast with his horn here; this one the eldritch horror instead of the gibbering flesh mass. Renathan watches as the eldritch beast lets out a noiseless screech; and then once again falls; dissolving into a horrible mass of sticky and rancid smelling goop that kills the grass beneath it. The glamours are beginning to fail now; showing how horrible the area really was. Renathan raises up from the stallion's neck onto a sitting position on the stallion; and looks out over the land with wide eyes.

The land itself around the area was disgusting; old bones scattered about all over the ground and in the ground half-sticking up. Broken potsherds and abandoned fluffy bits of plushes here and there; old plastic pieces of broken bits and things, and little metal spherical halves... It looked like a horrible dream. A small stream ran behind the rock that he had not noticed before; it was utterly polluted, and had twisted bits of metal and corroded pieces of appliances in the bottom of it. Renathan is stunned, he swallows again, his mouth dry and throat parched. He can hardly believe what he is seeing yet again. The giant-tree sized flower field seems to be real; but it is still glinting light off of it that in this early morning could not be giving off onto them. Renathan gets down off the of the stallion and quickly makes his way back to the rock.

The stallion watches Renathan get onto the rock without any issues at first, instead being a little distracted by all of the strange sharp things in the ground. Renathan climbs onto the rock and then places both hands on it, breathing harshly. He glances around, especially keeping an eye on the putrid water behind the rock, noting that it bears some resemblance to several myths about the rivers of the lost. A fitting place for this strange, dreamlike place, after all. Renathan half-crouches on the rock trying to think about the area and the possible significance of this place; while also trying to find a way out as well. He removes his gaze from the water and begins to look out across the hillocks and general areas; he is really trying to find a way to get them out. To one direction is the mansion, and to the other is the giant tree-flower forest, and towards yet another is the wandering waterpool.

Renathan knew that going towards any of these would be dangerous at best; but he had no idea what to do otherwise. Going towards the Mansion seemed to be taking them further and further away from anywhere that seemed like getting out of here; however he was afraid that going towards any of these other fearful areas would get them lost; perhaps permanently. At least he had Shy Guy; Shy Guy would be at his side the whole time. They seemed to be doing quite well together here; though well, the stallion seemed to be doing much better. He was really covering Renathan's most glaring weaknesses here, and that was giving Renathan tons of ideas. Renathan probably needed to have plenty of creatures around him to cover his own weaknesses, and vice-a-versa. Renathan stares out across the putrid area, and then thinks he hears something. He glances around, turning one way and then the other.

The stallion is staring straight at the rock right now; and when Renathan manages to glance over the stallion when he is searching for the noise; he follows it's gaze to the rock and sees probably one of the stranger things yet; the rock appeared to look very different all of a sudden! Renathan hops up and then continues looking down at the rock; which was making some kind of whimpering noise? Renathan focuses on the rock a little further and realizes that it was not in fact a normal rock; but instead seemed to have some kind of markings on it; rough etchings in the stone... No; that was a face! A deep gouge opens up on the rock and Renathan realizes that he is standing in it's mouth; he removes his feet quickly before it can close it's maw with some rather strange and human-like teeth around his foot. Renathan just about trips over a piece of rotten plushie fluff on the way down, and catches himself on the equillion.

Renathan just barely catches himself, but the stallion keeps him standing up. The rock with the strange human teeth also had what appeared to be possibly cat-like slitted eyes carved on the top; it was oddly enough moving- blinking even. Renathan can hear it sounding like it was spitting something out of it's mouth. Then, the rock begins singing; a strange melody that sounded more like an instrument than a voice; but just as much like a voice as like a whispered wind all at once. Renathan was beginning to realize that he wasn't really -hearing- this rock so much as he was... Understanding it with his head? Was the rock Telepathic? Renathan plugs his ears with his fingers just to make sure; and just as he thought; the sound is in his head. He unplugs his ears and stares out at the stallion and wonders if he can hear them mind-singing rock too.

Renathan didn't seem to be feeling any odd effects from the strange rock, but he hoped that the Stallion wasn't hearing it. If the stallion was hearing it, he wasn't giving any indications of hearing it. Renathan walks up to the rock, with the equillion watching him very warily. He raises a hand, and lowers it again, before raising it yet again. He's trying to decide whether or not to touch the rock and try to figure out exactly what the mechanism is that was causing it to be this way. Renathan finally steels his resolves, breathes in and then out slowly, and then touches the rock. It was grainy, grainier than it was earlier, as if it were a completely different rock. The face seemed to be able to move, but it could not travel the surface of the stone because it was not able to bite him from where he'd touched it off of it's face.

The rock itself was grey with little darker grey or black speckles across it; interspersed with lighter grey or whitish spots as well. It almost resembled a grainier granite perhaps a little bit; but Renathan wasn't sure what to think of it. It was almost like sugarstone, only without a particular color sheen. He scrapes at it with a fingernail and is not able to dislodge any of the grainy rock; which served to let him know that the hardness was at least harder than fingernails. He wonders if making a jewelry piece out of this would be interesting or worthwhile. Singing stone; huh? As soon as he began thinking about harming the stone however; the singing stopped, and the SCREAMING began. Renathan tried to plug his ears but it seemed to be being transmitted directly into his mind. He crumbles to the ground, and looks up just in time to roll away from the oncoming attacking rockbeast.

The equillion watches Renathan crumble down and is surprised to see it before he glances up and sees the strangest thing. The previously relatively benign but strange moving rock was suddenly standing on feet that looked like humanoid hands that had been carved out of the stone. The rock also appeared to have two pairs of arms; each with three thumbs that were tipped in what looks to be claws. Renathan was holding his head on the ground, so the Equillion steps over the top of him and goes to defend him, keeping him below his belly. The giant rock was close though; and easily pushes the stallion out of the way with an arm in order to attempt to get at Renathan. Luckily for Renathan, the stallion nips at his braids and manages to grasp him; he pulls him away and then drags him from the slow-moving rock, and up the little hillock again.

The stallion is much stronger than Renathan and much faster; he grabs the mammalian a little better once he is comfortably up the hill, and begins to realize that the humanoid is beginning to be less tight-muscled, so hopefully he would awake from his stupor soon. He is much easier to move now, however. He drags the renard up the hillock and sits him on top of it, away from the dangers down below. He then drops the mammalian gently on the ground and looks down below the hillock. The rock monster either seems unable or unwilling to follow; so luckily the pair appears safe for now. The stallion is content with this, and goes to sit down next to Renathan. Soon, the humanoid wakes up; holding the space between his eyes on his nose. The stallion nudges him, in a silent question as to whether he was okay or not.

Renathan wakes up at the top of the hill, with Shy Guy. He quickly scrambles to look over the edge of the hillock down at the angry rock beast he'd made super upset. He hadn't meant to cause all of those issues... Luckily, his equillion was very protective of him, and had saved him yet again. This place's strange psychic-like abilities were really causing issues for him. He then crawls back towards the stallion, and sits down to rest. He really had to think about this place. He glances out across the general area of the Mansion Grounds. So far; the hillocks seemed to be pretty safe; while the lowlands were dangerous and fair game, it seemed. There were many hillocks in the area, but the general layout could change at any point. Anything could happen here, and most of it seemed specifically tailored to defeat him; but mostly didn't pay a lot of attention to the stallion. But why?

Renathan really needed to find a way for them to get out of there; but he was already pretty battered and bruised; figuratively and literally. His wrist was stinging, his head was hurting, and he was really tired for some unknown reason he wasn't sure of. The stallion sitting beside him; not standing, actually -sitting- was also horrifically tired. He was kind of afraid that if they rested here; that the Mansion would finally get bored and send something dangerous and scary to come up the hillock to get them; so their time up here was probably incredibly limited. Renathan had only wanted a little bit of time to bond with his equillion; not to be trapped by a horrifically dangerous area. During the winter; this place was all but harmless, and even during the harvest event the place was decidedly frightful but tame. Right now; it was a giant horrific nightmare.

The stallion was definitely exhausted. He hadn't expected all of this to happen; his life had been really calm up to this point. Sure, he'd had to fend off the general creatures around the farm that may have been looking to make an easy meal out of his herdmates; and he'd done well with it. He was a protector at heart, naturally. However, this was on a whole other scale that he couldn't comprehend. All he could think of was to destroy threats to his herd; which contained Renathan at this point. The man had been getting himself into a lot of trouble with the general predators around these parts, and that was certainly not an acceptable thing. The stallion moves his head over and touches Renathan's shoulder with his muzzle, trying to break him out of his reverie. They really needed to get going; even he could see that. They needed to get away from this weird place.
