The jibiji climbs further up into Renathan's braids; finally settling down beneath his chin. Renathan chuckles, and has her step up onto his finger so that he could re-position her up onto his shoulder. He didn't want to accidentally hurt her with his chin somehow. Renathan stares down across the field; this time it was deceptively barren; the grass was beautiful in the spring; rolling little winds racing across it towards the mansion. Renathan was still nervous about actually going into the mansion; he only made it halfway this last time. He'd been inside of the mansion many times before, but it was always different every time he went. He didn't really know what to think about it; mentally it was simple to deal with, but actually seeing it was completely different! Renathan is still anxious about stepping down off of that first hillock though, due to his last time he'd done this.

The tiny jibiji seems content to sit upon his shoulder for a small moment, and then quickly finds a way to cuddle up into his braids. He pets her gently with a single finger, and then he stares down the hillock. He breathes in; and then begins to settle down the hill as slowly as possible. He was hoping to run back up to the hillock as soon as possible if something weird started to happen that could possibly be dangerous. He didn't want his jibiji to get hurt! Renathan finally makes it to the bottom of the hillock, and he looks one way and then the other to make sure that he isn't seeing anything weird... He's glad that the river or lake or whatever that was all magical was not around; that thing was basically chasing him last time! Renathan squints; his heart still hammering hard. This was almost more strange than seeing the traps beforehand, actually.

The jibiji is not worried; unlike Renathan. She nuzzles into his neck and sings a little song, wiggling and nearly dancing on his shoulder, between his neck and shoulder. Renathan is glad for the distraction at first, and then pets her so that she will quiet down; he needed to think he figures. He bends down to the ground and touches the grass with a single palm; the grass seems to rise up and grace his hand. He pulls his hand away, fearing that it will grab him and harm him; but it does not. When he removes his hand it returns to normal. It was not wet; and that was good, he was wondering if it was dangerous- like the river was somehow really small? It didn't seem to be. In fact, he had not found any trace of the river anywhere at all. Maybe they were not even on the same hillock as before a second ago?

Renathan continues searching the grass with a careful eye to make sure that there was absolutely no trace of that strange river. He cuddles the jibiji to his neck ever so gently, and she trills and grabs onto his fur a little better to stay on more easily. Renathan leans back up after failing to find any kind of semblance of the old river. He at least expected to see some kind of vines or foam remains or maybe even bones. He was not sure what became of the fae river. Had the month changed already? He didn't think so; the next few months were not quite as volatile, and he still felt like there was electricity in the air; figuratively. Renathan watches as the breeze races across the grass again, pushing them down and then they raise back up quickly as the breeze passes. It was definitely not cold at all; but it was a really nice feeling on his fur in the warmth of the spring day.

Suddenly the air switched, the gentle breeze becoming a harsh, cold wind, the mansion door opens up invitingly, best go inside before something bad happens...

Renathan is quite shocked to feel something strange around him; he could feel it on the back of his neck and it was strange. Like danger but not? The tiny jibiji could feel this change in him; but could not really decipher it. Renathan takes his hand and rubs the back of his neck with it, trying to figure out just what was causing him to feel all prickly and such. Renathan was worried; but he wasn't sure why! He bends back down to the grass and placed his hand on the earth yet again, trying to figure out anything he could about the water that seemed to be gone. Then Renathan stands up, and decides it is time to get a move on. The water not being around was a good thing; right? He crosses the area where the river was, keeping super cautious the entire way he crosses.

The jibiji stares across the expanse of grass nearly as far as her eyes can see; it was genuinely amazing. The bright green expanse looked luscious and wet; every once in a while dancing in the wind. She didn't understand why Renathan seemed so tense! It would probably have helped of course if Renathan had developed the Link with her; but they were not that far quite yet. Renathan barely steps across the field; his toes hardly brushing the grass with how fast he was going. He did not want to stick around in one place too long just in case anything happened that was bad because he wasn't making his way fast enough. He could still feel that foreboding feeling on his back and that was frightening enough! Renathan finally makes it to the bottom of the next Hillock; and he turns around to look out behind him to see where he came from.

The land behind him was gorgeous and green; with hillocks and soft breezes... But he was still overly cautious. He had no idea why nothing was showing up quite yet. The last time he had been here, if he had indeed truly been here? It was hard to remember now that he thought about it... Well, the last time it was strange and fey, too beautiful and really dangerous. He still felt ghost pains in his wrist even now. Renathan stands there for a moment at the bottom of the hillock, trying to think about what kinds of things he had gone through last time. It was all like a super dangerous dream; everything was too good and very horrible. He couldn't remember any of it very well. He instinctively pets his jibiji to calm himself a little more and then he turns towards the hillock ahead ready to climb to what he perceived to be safety.

The mammalian begins to trek up the hillock, his feet planted firmly on the rolling grass that feathered it's way up the hill like a soft shaggy carpet. Renathan breathes in the air, it smelled nice at least. He still didn't feel all that great, but he was beginning to ignore the danger-feeling for a moment, which may actually be a bad thing in and of itself. Renathan finally makes it to the top of the hill after a while; and he finds himself a little more tired than he'd like to admit. Whenever he looks down; he realizes why that problem was! The hillock seemed a lot taller now than what it had when he'd began! It was almost as if the hillock had grown somehow on his way up? His perception of it had not changed; but his body definitely felt like it had climbed much longer than he mentally had seen it.

Renathan chuckles beneath his breath, and sits down on top of the hillock. He glances out over the area to look towards the Mansion; which he was going towards slowly but surely. He hoped to eventually actually enter the mansion itself; but being within the grounds was difficult enough! The area twisted and changed all of the time; but at least the spring was really nice? Renathan is amazed to see how far away from the mansion he seemed to be! He had no idea whether this was a true situation or that perhaps the Mansion was twisting his perception of the distance? He squints, as if that would help him, and eventually just sits back down to catch his breath. He bad just felt like he climbed up a really tall hillock, after all! The jibiji twitters again, and crawls up into Renathan's braids again. He chuckles again, and pets her gently, enjoying the small moment.

The mammalian seems content for a moment, as he pulls a bottle of water out of his backpack and takes a sip out of it. He stares out over the land again, making sure that it didn't seem to be shifting around him or anything. So far; so good, right? Then, Renathan's hair on the back of his neck began to stand up again; it was something else this time, something more sinister. The wind seems to shift from sunny bright breezes to a sharp biting cold wind; the kind that raced along in winter; nipping at once's clothing and biting at one's nose. Renathan shivered as the wind hit; there was no way to get away from the all-encompassing omen. He shudders, and holds on to his jibiji instinctively, to make sure she doesn't fall away since she is so small. Almost as soon as it happened it was gone.

The jibiji does not seem to be bothered by this; mostly because of her thick plush coat of feathers; it usually protected her from the cold extremely well! Renathan however was more geared towards heat; so the winter gust really did tear him to the bone; and made him shiver. Renathan looks out to where the wind had 'went' and can't help but to lock eyes on the mansion itself; well, rather, his eyes are on it's door and windows. The door slowly seems to creak open; and Renathan can feel a great warmth from within the Mansion; somewhere in his head. It was certainly tempting; the idea of getting out of the cold and the 'bad' strange situation, and entering somewhere that may just be a little more calm? But Renathan was smarter than that; or at least he hoped he was. He knew that the Mansion was the source of the strangeness around here. It was probably too dangerous this month.

Renathan had indeed been planning on going into the Mansion at some point today; but that was if he could actually make it there. However, now he felt nervous about it; that wind was super foreboding. The Mansion's door remains open, however, and that was something quite inviting. It didn't seem like a bad thing at all. Renathan cuddles his jibiji close to his chest in both hands for a moment as he sat there, trying to decide what to do. If he pushed forward, they can be hurt. If he pushed back, the mansion could begin to cause some dangerous situations in an attempt to keep him here. That of course was pretty dangerous; Renathan knew that coming here had been a bad idea; but he still wanted to spend time with his creatures; and going to the Mansion was not always a good idea with every creature. Renathan was concerned about it, honestly.

Renathan sits there for a few more minutes, and takes another sip of his water bottle. He wanted to get a move on again, just in case the Mansion decided to get even more pushy about where he went and what he did. He really just wanted to spend a couple of hours here with his beloved jibiji. Renathan pets the jibiji just a moment or two and then stands up, feeling revitalized if still quite a bit cold. He shivers as he makes himself get to his feet, and then shudders as he begins to walk towards the edge of the hillock. He wanted to continue on, if only for a little while after all. He stands at the top of the hillock's edge for a moment, scouring the area with his eyes for danger. All he can see is softly rolling hills of grass, and little valleys in between them.

The area had a soft breeze yet again, warmed by the sun. Renathan noticed that the hair on the back of his neck was no longer standing up; and the chill was quickly subsiding thankfully. Renathan stands there, and breathes in, then he begins to start down the second hillock, ready to push on. His fear was certainly subsiding, but he was still quite cautious. He wanted only to spend time with his jibiji, after all. He places her near his braids so that she would climb on, and then walks a little faster down the hillock now that he had much better balance since he no longer had to hold his hands up to hold the jibiji. Renathan continues to walk down the hillock and finally makes it to the bottom, where there was a vast valley between the previous hillock and the next. Renathan breathes in, and sighs. He had no idea what was going to happen next.
