Nothing good was going to come of this, the woman just knew it. Ergo simply stood there, the worry in his eyes gone as he stared at her, wondering what she was trying to do about this injury she had. Jack took the bandages and spread some salve on it before wrapping it around her head as best as she could. It was makeshift, but it would last until she made it to the Healer's Temple, she figured with a little smile on her face. At least she knew what to do in an emergency, she thought she handled it rather well. The only problem is... is that it was getting wet right now, and not from the blood. Well, yes from the blood, but from something else as well. Jack sighed deeply when she realized there was a cloud hanging over her head and raining on her. Well that was new... But what was she supposed to do with it?

Well, it seemed like she had inherited a rain cloud somehow. Jack sighed again and shook her head, not sure what to do with it except to put it into her bag and hope she had waterproofed everything in there. She probably hadn't, but hey, she could always hope right? Giving a frown to the rain cloud, she took it and put it into her bag, along with the lantern, staff, and little bird from earlier. It was then she saw the little crevice in the wall next to her and pulled out a little cream colored egg with spots on it. A smile crossed her face as she put it into her bag as well and then looked up at Ergo. She still hadn't gotten up yet, to be honest she was a little scared to try out her legs at the moment, but it was going to have to happen if she wanted to keep moving.

Slowly, she reached up and grabbed a stirrup on Ergo's saddle and started to pull herself up, much to the chagrin of the halfbreed who bent over a little to bear a bit more weight on that side. Jack smiled up at him and patted him on the neck whenever she got to her feet and then yawned a little bit. She had to stay awake no matter what, she knew that much, and so she shook her head a little and then stretched out some as well to try and keep herself awake and ready to go. Maybe she would climb another tree, but she really didn't want to fall again and actually break her skull this time. So maybe that was a no go... Jack laughed a little and then saw a pink lantern fall gracefully to the ground, and a smile crossed her face as she picked it up. Maybe the Mansion was apologizing.

The Caterfly had been watching from a high-up branch in the tree, its mottled coloration and green eyes blending in quite well with the dappling in light of the tree itself. The humanoid was certainly interesting; climbing up in the tree and then subsequently falling out of it like that. The caterfly watches the humanoid through the rest of the exchange with a mild amount of interest before climbing down its favorite branch and onto a lower one to get a better look. The Caterfly cannot remember seeing anything like the humanoid before, so it had no idea to be afraid; but also had no reason to stick around too long other than curiosity. The Caterfly barely makes a noise as it slips gracefully out of the tree, but the 'thump' of hitting the ground was unmistakable. Had it been caught? The winged creature glances up at her, and squints. Yep, probably got caught. The caterfly freezes in place and waits for a reaction. [25-30]

The thump had indeed been heard, which was a good thing for the woman no matter what you might say. Both she and the halfbreed turned their heads and the woman smiled when she saw the Catterfly sitting there, staring at her. She thought she had seen one in the trees, but she hadn't been too sure about things. She knelt down on the ground and held a hand out to it with a gentle look on her face, using the voice she used for all wild animals she came across, "Well hey there beauty, how are you today?" Tilting her head a little, she continued after a moment, "You saw me fall didn't you? That's alright, I know I'm clumsy sometimes, this Mansion is hard to keep control of at the moment, yeah?" Giving a little chuckle, she stretched her hand out a little so the animal could sniff at her, hoping it would want to come home with her.

The Caterfly stayed still for another moment; locking it's vibrant green eyes with the woman's own; trying to discern it's situation. Then it glances over to the strange halfbreed; perhaps sensing a little more danger out of the huge white and strange looking creature. There was other, more dangerous things at the mansion; so the Caterfly decided to keep an eye on that strange pale thing over there. Then it looks back to the humanoid again; and she was kneeling now, closer to the ground. The Caterfly didn't know what to think about this; but she did seem much less huge this way. It waffles again a little, shifting on it's paws and then steps forward a few steps. She was making soft noises that sounded gentle; and curiosity killed the cat, after all! The creature leans forward just enough to sniff her hand, but seems skittish about any sudden movements so much that a little breeze could probably make it jump.

"See there? That's not so bad... No Ergo," she finished, eyeing the halfbreed as he stepped forward to sniff at the Catterfly. She narrowed her eyes and stared into his dead ones, and she hoped her message would get through. This animal was about to bolt and she didn't want anything to scare it away, not when she had wanted one for so long. Yes, this was going to happen, and she was going to do everything in her power to make sure she took this one home with her. "Yeah, we're not so bad, he listens to me, you know," Jack said soothingly, as easily as she could no matter what happened. All she could do was hope that it calmed down, she could tell it was tense due to the way it held itself, she could see the muscles and tendons ready to move at a moments notice, and she hoped that wouldn't happen, not today.

The Caterfly definitely noticed the tall white thing start to move closer; and it's muscles tensed up in preparation of flight but then calmed whenever the woman spoke. The Caterfly stood there for a heartbeat that seemed to take forever before stepping forward again, it's tail waving gently. It sniffs the woman's hand, touching it's little nose to her fingers for the briefest of seconds. Then it sits back on it's haunches and proceeds to lick it's front paw and rub the paw over it's face, cleaning a little bit of pollen from its fur that it hadn't noticed previously. It certainly seemed like it was relaxing, but it was really just testing to make sure that if she let her guard down that nothing would rush to attack it. After removing the tricky piece of pollen stuck to it's whisker; the caterfly moves forward, to rub its head against the woman's fingers ever so slightly. A little purr emanated from it's spotted chest.

It was starting to relax a little, but Jack could still see the tense muscles and tendons pushing out from under the Catterfly's skin. She smiled at it and then glanced over at Ergo who was just standing there, head tilted to the side, his dead eyes locked on something she couldn't see and probably didn't want to see at the same time. As odd as he was, he was a useful halfbreed and so light that she could carry him on her back if she needed to. She just hoped it wouldn't have to come to that in the future. Jack smiled again when the animal in front of her licked itself for a bit and then reached forward to purr and rub on her hand a little, and she angled her fingers a bit so she could give it a little scritch on the head. It was a cute little thing, she had to give it that, and she wondered if it already knew how to fly. "There you go, I'm not that bad," she told it happily.

The scritches are really nice; the Caterfly decides. The tenseness in it's body simply melts away into the touch from the nice lady. The creature had never really known anything like this; and felt quite a bit safer now. The creature couldn't remember a whole lot, to be honest; but it's little wings had often allowed it to slide out of the trees with a much easier and less painful fall than what could have been had they not been there. To be honest, the creature had hardly thought of this before. Still, the creature rubs its head fully into the woman's hand, and then rubs it's back, arching up into it just like a normal cat would most likely. Yes, that was enjoyable, even the little itchy spot behind the wing felt so much better now. Well; the humanoid was... Useful. The Caterfly wondered if there was food to be had? Maybe if it followed the humanoid, she would drop some food at some point. Yeah, that wouldn't be so bad; especially if there was more scratchies to be given!
[You have convinced the Caterfly to come with you!]

After taking the Catterfly back to the Kennel, she was back at the Mansion with Ergo at her side. Well, not really at her side, more like underneath her, seeing as how she was riding him there and all, but that didn't really matter right now. Jack grinned again and stared at the Mansion, wondering what it was going to be like this month. It was going to be interesting no matter what, she figured, as she stared up at the spirals of turrets and such on the roof of the Mansion. She didn't know what to expect, but that didn't matter too much right now she suspected. Either she would find something or she wouldn't which was what she was betting on really when it all came down to it. Oh well, at least Ergo was getting more and more used to her, she figured, that was the main thing for this trip anyway.

The entrance to the Mansion was a thick gate covered in black vines this month, seeming like something out of a nightmare in and of itself. She smiled a little bit to herself and then nudged Ergo forward, wondering what they would be able to find this month. Sure they had a Catterfly now, but that was last month's animal, this month there were rumors of dragons, which was exciting to her at the moment. Giving a grin, she opened up the gate on the back of the halfbreed and then marched him inside, hoping they would find something good this month and that she and the halfbreed would get ever closer no matter what happened. As long as they didn't lose each other, well, things would be okay she figured with a little chuckle as she patted Ergo on the side of his neck. She wasn't sure what to do, but that was fine by her.

The dreaming shards appeared to be floating there; just hardly in front of her; sparkling and looking quite beautiful. The magical array of bright colors were really fascinating and particularly captivating, but who knew what they could be used for? Were they alive?

Well it was time again, time to come back to the Mansion and try her luck with... whatever, she supposed. Jack chewed on her lip and looked at the hatchling she had brought with her, she was vicious like her mother and brothers, and she was sure it was going to be tough to break her when the time came and all that. She smiled a little bit and patted her on the head, getting a snap at her in return, and the woman knew that things wouldn't be the same when this one grew up. That was alright though, she didn't know what was going to happen with things but that was alright, she didn't really know what was going to happen a lot of the time, she tended to just roll with things pretty well, or at least she thought so. Jack pushed her hair back with a sigh, this was going to suck.

As soon as Zsa started to show major aggression or massive growth, they were going to be out of the Mansion and into the Pit pronto. She didn't want to mess with that, especially considering how vicious it already seemed like she was going to be at the moment. She shrugged a little and headed up the stairs of the Mansion, Zsa following her on a leash. She didn't trust her to follow just blindly, so the leash was part of it, even though the little hatchling chewed on it almost all the time. Jack wasn't sure if she was teething or just trying to get it off of her, but either way she didn't think it would work the way she wanted it to. Oh well, whatever happened, would happen, and it wasn't like she could really change it now, right? Jack gave a little sigh and then sat down on the steps, thinking.
