Everything would be fine in the end, she knew, it didn’t matter if she found the crystal or not. Whatever was going to happen, then she figured it would be alright. Sighing a little, she left the building and started to wander the grounds of the Mansion again, not really wanting to go inside of the Mansion proper, but whatever if she had to at this point. It wasn’t like Bigfoot would spook or anything, he was a little better off than that at this point. Rubbing the back of her head, she just wished she could figure out what she wanted to do here aside from wandering for awhile. This was the worst of it all, and she wondered what to do at the moment. Whatever happened, at least she would have the fossil with her, she had to be happy about that much at the moment. Scowling a little, she wondered where this crystal was.

This was really the worst part, she knew there was something out there, but she couldn’t find it and it was irritating. She prided herself on being able to do what she wanted to do and what she needed to do, but for some reason she was getting a little sluggish. Maybe she needed to take a little break from all of this and chill for a little while. She was getting closer with the fossil though, and when she checked on him, he was sleeping in her bag. There were four more nutrients for him to have as well, she didn’t want to lose out on whatever they would do for him at the moment, did she? Technically speaking, she could take him to the museum right now and get him to evolve, but she wanted to give him every opportunity to thrive on his own. It was the best case, at least for her.

Everything would be fine, she knew as she walked toward the Mansion with a little scowl on her face. What was it at the moment anyway? There were so many things she needed to work with, maybe Bigfoot shouldn’t have been such a high priority at the moment. Oh well, it was too late now, she figured with a little sigh as she looked at him. Maybe this was for the best, but she really didn’t know right now. All she knew was things were looking up slightly, and as she tilted her head up to look at the Mansion, she hoped she wasn’t getting in over her head in her hunt for the thrumming crystals. It wouldn’t do to be duped by the Mansion, she wouldn’t let that happen, this was definitely a magical thrum she felt from a crystal. That was good though, maybe she would be able to make a node with them soon, as much as she didn’t want another hollow right now.

It wasn’t like there wasn’t anything to do in the Mansion, but she wasn’t all that fond of it in the first place. Giving a little sigh, she shook her head and wondered what she was going to do about things for now and all that. It got boring just exploring a building every now and then, and though she felt the thrumming of a crystal, she wondered if it was really all that worth it. She needed to get Bigfoot evolved, she knew that, if only so she didn’t have to worry about it later on and all that, but what could she train him while they were there anyway? There used to be a list, but she was ignoring it now for whatever reason, and she sighed a little as she looked down at him. She could train him to be alright with scary sights and blood, possibly loud noises here as well, but what was the point in that?

Without anything to think of, she hoped that she was going to be alright in the Mansion, but that was going to get boring after awhile. Nothing was going to attack her, she figured, but that didn’t matter in the long run. Pushing a hand through her hair, she wished there was something she could do other than explore a building at times, whether it was more mining or something, she didn’t know. What was the point of all of this anyway? Sure she got crystals every now and then, but for now she wasn’t too sure she wanted to be here in the first place. Jack sighed and looked down at Bigfoot as they stood at the foot of the steps to the porch. He didn’t look too thrilled, and she wondered again if she should train him up just a little bit at this point. At least it would make time go by.

The worst part was, she didn’t want to be here anymore. Frowning a little, she sat down on the steps and put her bag beside her, Bigfoot still inside. He poked his head out and tilted it a little at her, wondering why they had stopped at the moment. It wasn’t like she really needed to be in the Mansion right now, right? There were other things to be done, she could work with Houluh or Sarane or something, so why work with a fossil? Putting her face in her hands, she groaned a bit, wishing there was something else she could do right now to get him some experience. Just a little while to go though, she had put in a considerable amount of work so far, and she hoped it wouldn’t be for nothing. Whatever, if it was, then she would deal with it sooner or later, or she might see if someone else wanted him eventually. Whatever worked, it would be fine.

Well if she was going to give him away or sell him after he grew, then what was the point of all of this? Sighing a little, she knew she wasn’t going to do that, and that was the truth. She had put way too much effort into the fossil to send him away, though she wished she knew what to do with him at the moment. All Jack could think was to get him used to things, but that wasn’t very fun and it wouldn’t really give them much to work with. Leaning back with her elbows on the porch, she looked out at the sky. It was pitch black out now aside from the lanterns hanging around and the light following her, and she wondered if they should rest for awhile in the Mansion, if they could find a bedroom. It would be smarter to just go back to the Kennel though, she knew with a little sigh as she thought about it.

Everything would work out, she knew, but she didn’t think that staying at the Mansion was her best bet. Slowly she pushed herself to her feet and grabbed her bag by the straps, slinging it over her so it rested on her opposite hip. As she walked a little ways, she shoved her hands into her jacket pockets, Bigfoot poking his head out of the bag again. Hopefully when he evolved he would be big enough for her to ride, but she wouldn’t be surprised if that didn’t happen, she figured. Whatever, it was fine, though she wished she knew what all the nutrients did to the fossils. It would be nice to see what happened with everyone’s fossils, and she hoped that everything went well no matter what. Jack tilted her head back to look at the stars, wondering if her dream was somewhere beyond there, and what exactly it was.

It was weird, thinking her dream was out there somewhere, but what else would she really do about things right now? Sighing, she kept walking toward the fence and felt the thrum lessen a little. It wasn’t like her to ignore magic, but she had a feeling it would be there the next day as well. Still, she turned for a moment and eyed the Mansion, she could always sleep in there with Bigfoot in the bed with her, that was definitely a thought. Who was to say it would still be there when she woke up, however? Either way it was a gamble, and she groaned as she tried to think of what to do. It was annoying, but there wasn’t much she could do about it at the moment, she needed to find that crystal or go home and try her luck. It was just… her luck wasn’t all that great sometimes, now was it? Grumbling to herself, she stood there for a little while, thinking.

She was going to have to go back, wasn’t she? Jack wasn’t the kind of person to leave magic behind, but she was getting tired. If she didn’t find it, she would sleep a little at the moment, and the woman smiled a little, she would be fine, and so would Bigfoot. She would sleep for a little while and so would he, and then he could wake up and have a little nutrient snack or something in the morning as they explored. It wasn’t a terrible idea, she knew that the magic was something she needed to find in the end, but what else was the point of it all? Jack frowned a bit and started to walk toward the Mansion again, Bigfoot still peering out of her bag for the moment. He didn’t know why they were headed back, it was a little frightening, but… what to do about that?

This was fine, she knew for a moment as they walked up to the Mansion, Bigfoot still in her bag. She knew that everything would end well for them if she just kept pressing on, and the woman smiled a little, though it was a bit forced at this point. Oh well, she knew that everything would be alright, the Mansion wasn’t all that bad when it came down to things, and she had spent quite awhile in there without finding something, hopefully everything would come together at the end, but there was no real way to be sure at the same time. Jack tilted her head and strode onto the porch before opening the door and peering inside. Her worst fear was that they would come across an animal, and she really didn’t want to do that at this point, it just took way too long, no matter how you did it.

The woman knew there was some magic in there and she had to find it. Nodding a little, she opened the door, Bigfoot still in her bag, staring around at his surroundings as she stepped inside. It was… weird and dusty inside of the Mansion this time, it looked like February had come there to die. Everywhere she looked there was rotting candy and wilted, dead flowers, and she raised an eyebrow at the sight. Well, someone must think this was creepy, she figured with a little sigh, and she shook her head a little as she closed the door behind her. Might as well start looking, she figured as the thrumming continued in her bones. It was a weird sensation, but nothing she wasn’t used to at this point. She knew how much her nodes thrummed, and she could tune that out at this point, though anything more certainly rang through.

Things would be fine as long as she found the crystal she felt and then accommodated for the thrum it produced. Jack smiled a little and patted Bigfoot on the head before setting down the bag and starting to look through some of the drawers and things for a little while. Some of the cabinets were hard to open and creaked when they did, but that didn’t phase her at all, which was definitely a good thing when it all came down to it. The fossil was content in her bag, unsure of what she was going for, but figured it was probably pretty important if she was looking that hard. He didn’t know a lot of her quirks, but thought this was one of them, if it wasn’t important, she wouldn’t look like she was right now, digging through the drawers to see what she could find. Ah well, it didn’t really matter in the long run, she knew with a chuckle.

Jack knew what she was looking for, of course, and felt the thrum deep within her bones for a little while as she looked. Sometimes it got deeper, and sometimes it was lighter, and she figured out it was starting to pinpoint where it was, she knew that was a thing, and she smiled a little. This was pretty strong, what if there were more than one? No, that wouldn’t work, she knew, you could only find one at a time in the Mansion, right? Shaking her head, she glanced at the fossil who was still peering out of her bag and smiled a little. At least he was consistent, though she didn’t know what she would do with him when he was fully evolved. How long would that even take, she wondered? Another shrug, it didn’t really matter, she would figure out something to do with things for the moment, and she hoped that it would all work out in the end.
