Renathan had heard that there was a trader that might take garden and mines things in trade for other such things, and Renathan had also heard through the grapevine that they might take garden items for healing berries this month. Needless to say, Renathan was -stoked- he really wanted to buy as many as possible, and he hoped that there were still some left after he got as many different garden berries and such as he could. He didn't have one of those creatures that dropped off those healing berries, what were they... Pine things? Pine Monarchs... No, king of the evergreens. Renathan sometimes had a bit of a hard time with Common words still, but it was getting less often recently. Renathan was slowly learning all of the colloquialisms as well. That was good, right? Renathan gently went to reach out to pet the pachee, and it scooted away from him... Oh well, Mesquite would get used to him sooner or later.

Renathan was exhausted, quite a bit, but was sure that everything was going to be fine. That was why he needed to spend more time in his garden, he figured. There were lots of creatures here that could really use some getting used to him, including Mesquite. He figured that Mesquite would make an excellent breeder someday if he wanted to get more Pachee, but he wasn't sure if that was what he wanted to do yet or not anyway. Maybe if his garden did good this month, he'd try next month? Pachee were apparently mature from the start, according to the information pamphlets, but he had no idea if that was for certain or not. He really did like the pachee, and was really enjoying Jack's thoughtful gift to him, that was for certain. Sooner or later, Renathan hoped that the creature would let him pet it without too much trouble!

Renathan wondered if all pachee acted like this, all aloof and watchful, or if it was just Mesquite? Renathan watched as the creature stared up at the top of the inside of the gazebo, it didn't take long for Renathan to realize that the creature was indeed actually watching something; the strange small bumblebee from earlier was staring down at him with huge eyes. Wow, was that a creature that could harm him, or was it more interested in living it's life? Renathan looked up from the pachee as well to stare at the small bumblebee thing, wondering why it was blue and gold instead of the usual black and yellow, anyway. The bumblebees were even like that in his homeland as well, and he figured that most of the bumblebees that he had seen here, other than this one, were also quite yellow and blue for some reason. Huh, he wondered why that was.

Renathan was already planning on what he would use the berries for, or at least that was his idea, anyway. The first idea was going to be to, of course, pay Jack back for all of the help he had been given with his work on the magic. Two sets of them were required for that, and Renathan planned to go all out to try to get at least those two, anyway. The next bit was that he was considering maybe keeping them to use for selling nodes in the future, or perhaps for selling them to people that would also make nodes? As of right now, those were the only uses for them. Though, he was sure they'd make the most excellent healing potions, if only he knew how. They were too hard to get a hold of after all to actually be able to waste them trying to figure out something that he didn't know anything about yet.

Renathan's main goal at the moment was enough garden produce this go around to manage to trade for five sets of these healing berries. He really hoped that he would make it there by the end of the month, but he knew that the cost of such would be high. He didn't have a lot to do currently, so it shouldn't be too bad, but he still needed to work with Shy Guy for the last little bit to give him some back ups in the fights just in case his thunderbolt thing missed or something. Renathan was still quite nervous about that, but he wanted to give Shy Guy the absolutely best chance he absolutely could, at least. Everything would be difficult, but he was sure that they could do it! Renathan reached out for Mesquite again to see if the pachee would allow him to pet him on the forehead, but he didn't seem interested in Renathan at all.

Renathan hoped that the creature would get used to him soon, so that he could possibly get the creature down to the breeding center to actually see if he made as pretty offspring as he was. Renathan didn't know the slightest thing about breeding pachee, but he had been told that they apparently didn't have mouths. He looked closely at Mesquite to check to see if this was indeed true; and it was! The creature didn't seem to have a mouth, but it did have eyes? Why did it need eyes? What did they eat? He had been told that they had little roots that would reach out and suck nutrients out of things, and that kinda sounded more like a pest than a pet to him. Would it eat all of the berries in his garden? Renathan sure hoped not! He would not be looking forward to that, that was for sure!

It was going to be hard to get all of the garden bits and bobs that Renathan would need to do what he needed; but he had another trick up his sleeve too. Renathan had recently been to the Nature's Bounty; which was apparently a shop set up especially for garden items, and he had picked up some items that would help him fertilize his garden, at least! Renathan was glad about that but also a bit nervous, he had never used items like these before. Renathan opens up his backpack after giving another bit of attention to the pachee; the creature handedly ignored him for the bee buzzing around above after all, and then he pulled out a can of some kind of pink orbs of some kind. These were apparently fertilizer, and would make the garden grow extra well! He was planning on scattering them around the fruit trees and the terraces, hopefully!

Renathan stood up, figuring that he would give the pachee some time to rest for a bit without him harassing the tiny creature. Perhaps it would warm up to him faster if he did so? Renathan wanted now to go check on the next newest creature in the garden; his sapling spriteling. He had named her Lenore but hadn't really done much else. He had almost named her something else, but he felt like this fit a bit better. Renathan put the pellets back in his bag and then trudged off to go find the tiny creature, leaving the pachee to get acquainted with the garden by itself. Renathan had a lot to do today that wasn't getting to know him, after all. Renathan finally found the sapling spriteling... Well, found her after a few moments really, playing between the flowers on the terraces. Renahtan smiled, beneath the mask, and then grinned. Well, this was perfect.

This was where Renathan needed to be anyway; right here on the terraces using this stuff that he had bought to fertilize them and make sure that his garden would produce lots of stuff for trading this month. He wasn't sure if there would be healing berries that would be available for the rest of the year, so he was a bit worried that he wouldn't be able to get the things out of his garden in time. Renathan just knew he was going to have to work hard. He waved to the spriteling quietly, watching it bashfully hide behind it's hands for a moment. Aww, so Lenore was bashful. Renathan filed that away in his mind for later. He gently threw her a small berry treat, one of the cheap ones from the grocery store, and then watched as she ducked away from it. Surely she would come around and grab it sooner or later?

Renathan smiled at the small creature from beneath his mask. She reminded him somewhat of his jibiji, and that made him a bit sad. He didn't want to bring her along because he knew he would spend precious time playing with her instead of working on the garden or working with these creatures that also deserved his care. He was a bit sad just thinking about it, but he knew that it would be okay. Renathan pretended to look away, bending down to check on and smell a nice pink flower, and then she darted out from behind one of the big rocks and took the berry into her mouth quietly, nibbling on it cutely. Aww, it was just adorable! No wonder that Alura had one and used it as an assistant, it was just perfectly adorable! Renathan watched her cautiously from the corner of his eye, not wanting to frighten her away.

Renathan was glad to see that she was doing well, at least. That was the idea anyway; just to check to make sure that she wasn't getting bullied by any of the other garden creatures or harassed by any visitors to the garden that would be bad, like the bugs. So far, he hadn't seen any bugs or anything, so hopefully that would be fine at least. Maybe they might get out of this without ever being harassed by bugs? Renathan knew that he was just going to spread some of this fertilizer here, and maybe water the area, and then he was planning on checking on his Dragon Oak next; supposedly they were producing acorns this month out of the year; and those were worth a ton! That would hopefully help him out a lot or something; perhaps those can be traded out for what he needed, too? He had nearly forgotten about them...

Renathan pulled out the thing of brown pellets that he had bought from the store, and looked them over carefully. They were quite odd to him, but they were not quite as odd as the other things that would be used for gardening today. The russet mammalian grabbed the little pellets after opening the jar and then scattered them about all down the row, sparsely. He didn't want to over fertilize after all! Renathan had heard that it would be bad if he did that, so he knew not to. The tiny spriteling sapling watched him, hiding behind rocks all the way down, to keep an eye on him. She was quite adorable, and he knew that she was being an absolute cutie right now. He figured that she would be just fine and was adjusting quite well to the garden, all things considered! He would be moving on to the dragon oak soon, he decided.

Renathan finished spreading the pellets along the terraces, and still had some left over; but not of the brown kind. The pink kind he had a whole jar of still! Renathan was proud of that, he figured that he could use this around in the fruit and berry bushes that were around the dragon-oak stump, that way he could get berries and fruit even more so from those! Renathan bade farewell to the tiny creature for now, and she rushed off to the top of the terraces. He guessed that it was her territory, now, anyway. Maybe she would help the plants grow there? Renathan walked off, following the path out to the mystical area where the dragonoak would be found. He had named her Faebuck the last time he was here. He wondered if he should buy another dragon-oak at some point. Would that be a good investment? He had heard that their acorns sold for quite a bit!
