Three of the males he was able to capture without any issue, though he did need to be careful with Nebula's delicate wings. The last one though, Tye Die, seemed to think it was a game, and playfully scampered around the pen as Nerius tried to catch him. Just when Nerius thought he'd cornered the pachee, he wiggled his way though a small gap caused by a bent fence post, and escaped into the larger garden.
"Ugh, great", and of course it had to be one of the flying ones too. He'd have to catch that rogue pachee, but on his way out he grabbed the other carriers with the males, and set them in a line outside of the shed. Now where had the last one gotten to? Not far, but also out of reach, Nerius spotted him perched in the branches of a nearby tree. He was too high to reach, but the branches also looked too flimsy to climb.

The pachee didn't look to be going anywhere, content to watch him, and Nerius was worried that if he tried to climb the tree he'd just scare Tye Die off. He decided to leave the pachee alone for now, and gather the females, maybe that would be interesting enough for him to come down out of the tree?
While Nerius had been looking for the escaped pachee, he'd also spotted a few flowers growing outside the shed. He picked those, adding them to the rest of his harvest, before going back inside the shed. All the females were outside in their pen, so back out he went. It looked much the same as the males' pen, except there were less of them. He only had three females, and none of them attempted to escape as he gathered them up into carriers. Once they were all collected, he brought them outside, and set the carriers a short distance from the males.

The males in the carriers hadn't yet figured out what he'd brought out, which was for the better, but Tye Die had. He was interested enough to fly over, and landed on the roof of the shed, still frustratingly out of reach. Well, he could move the other males to the front gate, Nerius couldn't get them all in one go anyway, and see if Tye Die would come down once he wasn't around.
It was worth a shot, and in the time it took him to bring the males in the carriers to the front gate and return, Tye Die had landed in front of one. At first it seemed his idea had worked, until Tye Die spotted him, and scampered off into the underbrush. So much for that idea, add another pet to the 'things he'd have to hunt through the garden for' list. The rest of the pachee at least, he could mark off.

He'd collected over half the pets on his list, but that didn't mean much for estimating how much longer this would take, most of what he'd collected hadn't been loose. Everything else was, and with the state that the garden was in, he could be in for a lot of searching. Grabbing a few more small carriers, Nerius made his way into the more overgrown parts of the garden. Honestly, that was a fair description for most of it, it was mostly just the path that he'd managed to clear to a walkable level.
The rest was still a mess, which meant there was plenty of places for critters to hide. He made his way back to where he'd last seen Tye Die, there was no guarantee the pachee would still be there, but it was a place to start. He kept an eye out for anything else on the way, Tye Die wasn't the only pet he had to find.

He wasn't seeing much of anything important yet, and Nerius reached the empty pachee shed without seeing anything, critter or produce, to grab. Worse, Tye Die hadn't returned to investigate the females. He'd move those to the front gate as well, he supposed, and grabbed the carriers, making the return trip.
On his way, he passed an unusual bit of grass growing in a small planter, it looked like it had been deliberately planted, and had fine blades. Sweetgrass, he realized, and picked up the small pot, bringing it along with his pachee, he had few enough females that he could set it on top of one of the carriers, and not be over burdened. The females were again set a short distance from the gate, and he put the grass next to the other plants he'd gathered. Nerius picked up the empty carriers again, and headed back into the messy parts of the garden.

He searched for some time without any luck, but eventually there was some movements in the overgrowth. Perched on a low branch was Russet, and the leafscatter was holding a few berries. The leafscatter nibbled on one, but held the rest of the large bunch up for Nerius. He accepted the fruit, used to Russet 'helping' in the gardens by bringing him things. There were quite a few berries, and they looked good, ripe and intact.
While he inspected the berries, the leafscatter scampered off a few feet, before pausing, and looking back at Nerius. Maybe he wanted him to follow? It couldn't hurt. Nerius followed the little critter though the underbrush for a dozen feet or so, before seeing what the leafscatter was leading him to, a large, surprisingly healthy looking, blueberry bush. There were a lot of ripe berries, and Nerius took the time to gather as many as he could.

Okay, yes, he ate a bunch of them too, sharing some with Russet whenever the leafscatter gave him sad eyes. Once he'd gotten a good harvest, he scooped up Russet at well, setting the leafscatter in a carrier along with a few blueberries as snacks. The leafscatter was thoroughly distracted by the food, and didn't seem to mind at all.
Nerius kept searching after that, bringing Russet's carrier along with, he was small enough it wasn't much of an extra load, and was easier than going all the way back to the entry. His critters were sure doing a good job at hiding themselves, but he supposed it was really only the shy ones, or ones that weren't used to him, left. He still had the lotine, four lola, bellafaux, and Juniper, his king of the evergreen, left to find. The lotine, Kasuna, he was sure was in the pond, but the rest could be anywhere.

It took quite a bit of searching, but he eventually spotted the bellafaux nestled in a patch of wildflowers. The critter hadn't come with a name, and even after this time hadn't come up with one on his own, or done anything with the critter really. Which meant he was probably going to be more skittish than most the other critters in his garden.
Though, it did look like he was asleep, and if Nerius could sneak up on the bellafaux without waking him, that would make his job much easier. Nerius set down all but one empty carrier, and slowly crept toward the sleeping bellafaux. He was only a few yards away with the creature twitched, and he froze, staying as still as possible for several seconds, until it didn't seem that the bellafaux was going to wake up. Slowly, Nerius started moving closer, until the bellafaux was almost within reach.

Grabbing him would be easier with two hands, so slowly, quietly, Nerius set down the carrier on its end. Once he was sure it hadn't disturbed the bellafaux, he slowly moved closer, until the bellafaux was close enough to grab. This probably wouldn't be endearing him to the critter, but the easiest way to move him would be to just grab.
Which he did, and was rewarded with flailing, hissing bellafaux. Nerius had made sure to restrain the tail, once again glad he'd worn gloves, which kept him safe, but didn't make the bellafaux any happier about the situation. Not wanting to overly stress the critter, Nerius set him in the carrier as quickly as he could. He wasn't entirely cooperative, and Nerius had to push his scrabbling paws out of the way before he could latch the gate. That could have gone worse, he supposed, though he still headed back to the gate, no need to drag the unhappy little along while he searched for the rest.

When he reached the stacked carriers at the gate, Nerius saw that someone had come to investigate the strange new objects in the garden. Juniper was checking out the empty crates, and though she startled a little at the sound of someone approaching, relaxed when she saw it was Nerius. Out of all his plant creatures, she was the one he'd spent the most time with.
That would probably make it easier to coax her into a travel crate, she was a bit too large to just be grabbed and put in a carrier. In fact, she'd need one of the larger crates he'd brought. First though, he set the carriers with the bellaroxi and leafscatter down by the other filled ones, and set down the empty ones a short distance away. He'd still need to use them for the lolas and Tye Die, but they were much too small for Juniper, she could pick one up and carry it around.

The larger crates though, she could fit in. He'd brought three, for the whiptail, lotine, and Juniper herself. One was already filled with grumpy whiptail, but the other two were empty. Juniper was conveniently near one as well, they were less noisy than the filled ones, and she preferred to investigate those. Now was just a matter of convincing her to go in one, she had training, but 'go in the box' hadn't been one of the things he'd covered. He did however, have treats in the form of garden pellets, they weren't appetizing to him, but most the plant critters loved them.
Nerius walked over to the evergreen, who had paused in checking out the crate to watch him. "Hello Juniper," he greeted her, and she responded with a friendly nudge to his arm with her head. It was a little spiky, but not nearly as bad as the rest of the critter.

Now for the crate.. maybe her naturally curious tendency would come in handy here? Nerius opened the side of the crate, it was probably too much to ask that she'd just walk in, but the evergreen was at least somewhat interested. "I don't suppose you want to go inside?" he asked, and while she was poking around the edges, she hadn't actually ventured inside.
If that didn't work, maybe bribes would? Nerius gave her a garden pellet, before setting a few more inside the crate. "Don't you want them?" he asked, but Juniper just looked between him and the pellets. He set another one just inside, which encouraged the evergreen to reach in, but not actually enter. Nerius put a few more down in a trail, leading to the small pile that was already there. "Please go in the crate." Juniper just looked at him for a moment, confused about the whole thing.

After a moment, she reached in for the closet pellet, and ate it, before slowly taking a step in. "Yes, good, just a little further!" Nerius was trying to encourage her, but it just resulted in the evergreen pausing, and for a moment he thought he might have done more harm than good. But then, she took another step to reach a pellet, then another, and another, until she was far enough in for him to shut the crate.
She noticed this, and gave him a confused, sad look. "I'm sorry Juniper," he apologized to to evergreen, giving her another pellet even though there were still several inside. "But I need to move you to your new home, it'll be much nicer." That didn't seem to make her any happier, and Nerius felt a bit bad, but there really wasn't a better way to move the evergreen to his new garden.

Only a few more to go now, lotine, lola, and the darn escaped pachee. Kasuna, the lotine, would likely be the easiest to find, but the hardest to catch, and could result in him having to get wet. He'd look for the others first, even though they could be anywhere in the garden, being able to float or fly. Nerius picked up enough empty carriers for the lot of them, and headed back into the overgrowth of his garden, going for an area he hadn't searched as thoroughly as the rest.
It didn't seem to help though, because for quite some time, he didn't see any creatures. He'd circled his garden path three times, and nothing, going off the path more and more each time. Nerius didn't have any experience in tracking, and right now it showed. At least, he hoped it was his lack of tracking skills, and not that the critters had all floated over the fences.
