Renathan hoped that in his desire to sound confident and happy, that he hadn't come across as too harsh, or rough. Renathan was quiet for a moment after she spoke, instead grabbing the things she requested. He didn't like the idea that she presented; that she had been through worse or more odd things; that was just... He didn't want to believe it, but he did. He didn't want her to be in danger, and he hated the idea of it. He carefully gathered the apples, rummaged around until he found some of the cinnamon oatmeal, and read the box carefully. He'd never made oatmeal before; not for human consumption anyway. He also gathered the ingredients for toast; well, bread and butter of course, and then asked, perhaps a little more normality? "Do you like your toast soft, crispy, or burnt?" He grinned at her, flashing a bright row of teeth. Trying to be strong.
Afterwards, he began putting the meal together, getting everything made up. He was no master chef, but he could certainly get by. "Lets get you fed, I bet it takes a lot of energy out of you to grow a whole new leg." He tried to jest. Perhaps that didn't work to well, but he was really trying. Renathan was having a little bit of difficulty moving around, because Auburn kept trying to climb up his legs between steps, but he did manage to get the food to the table at least. "Yes, that... That will definitely be odd, you've had it most of your life, right?" He was a horrid conversationalist, and quite rusty. "Oh, darn, we left your walking stick in the park!" He just remembered, of shoot, that was bad, right? Even if she didn't need it anymore, it was still quite a good stick!
Renathan sat her food down in front of her, knowing that she would probably prefer to eat the food with her own power now, so he then sat his food down and then he sat down himself across from her. He put a very tiny saucer of oatmeal down for the izer, too. He then grinned, and sat down across from her. An embarrassed look crossed his face suddenly, and his ears leaned back as he rubbed the back of his neck embarrassed. "I don't mind at all- I'll help you do anything you need." He didn't want to appear eager to help her, really, he was anything if not respectful; but she did need the help, he was sure.

"As long as it's not burnt, we're good," Jack chuckled a little. Black toast just didn't sound appetizing, which was strange because nothing sounded bad right now either. It should be no surprise that she'd been through rough times in the past, it was how she was raised, and she knew how to work hard and work through the pain if she was hurt. Eventually she would need to break herself of that habit, but she had been raised that way and it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. She sighed a little and then dug into the food in front of her, smiling at Renathan as he sat down to eat as well. A little wince passed over her face as there was a deeper ache that happened in her leg. As she shook her head, she figured she would look at her leg later, she didn't want to be disappointed, but it felt like it was done growing. A well of excitement crept into the pit of her stomach but she needed to eat before she checked and got either excited or disappointed in how it had grown.
Not wanting to miss a question, she turned back to Renathan's question and shook her head, "Not really most of my life, but a decent part. I had to start using it when I came to the Labs, and while that was years ago, it's not quite half my life just yet. It's a good stick, I'll get it the next time I go to the Park, I'm pretty sure there were more pressing matters at hand when we left..." Giving a little chuckle, she pushed her hair back and then glanced up to see him look a little embarrassed too. "Maybe I'll just wait until this leg is finished..." she trailed off, a little embarrassed still. The more she could do for herself, the better off things would be for now.
After eating, which didn't take much time at all, she was ravenous, she took a deep breath and tested both of her feet. They felt like they were hitting the floor at the same time at least, and she peeked under the table at her legs to see what they were like. Excited, she swung around in her chair and held them out straight, comparing the two of them under her pant legs, and then looked back up at Renathan, excited. "I think it's done! When you're finished, could you help me up, just in case it's not quite strong enough to push up yet?" she asked, hopefully.

Renathan laughed, at that, a quick snort following it as he tried to calm down. He was exhausted, nervous, and more than a clip worried, and that was beginning to show. He made sure to get the toast the way he liked it then; crispy around the outside and just a little softer in the middle. He liked that part! Renathan tried not to think too much, he was bad about it, it seemed, and he really needed to try to break that habit. He busied himself with the food in order to keep his mind off of things. He hoped to high goodness though, even through that, that Jack's leg would make a full recovery.
The mammalian listened to Jack, enjoying hearing her voice. He had been wrong; she hadn't been using it before coming to the Labs, huh. He smiled, and nodded of course, periodically. "Yeah, there were much more pressing matters at hand..." He figured that most of the Labs people probably wouldn't pick up a walking stick when in the park; not many people even visited the park anymore... The Labs-City was starting to look a little bare sometimes in areas that used to have a lot of work done in them.
Renathan didn't have any problems eating either, but not even he could match Jack's fervor. He couldn't blame her at all; she was growing a whole knew limb. Auburn was digging in to her meal too, making a tiny bit of a mess since she wasn't used to eating this kind of thing, but Renathan simply cleaned it himself, while giving Auburn a petting on her head. He really did enjoy this creature, even if she was a bit of a mess...
"Oh, it is!?" Renathan asked, excitedly. That was good! That was great! Renathan practically jumped up from his space a the table, and then he walks over to Jack rather quickly, so that he could help her up. He felt a little shaky at the excitement; this was the moment of truth! "Here you go..." He said, excitedly.

Jack chewed on her lip and looked up at him expectantly for a moment before grabbing his hands with hers and using him to help haul herself to her feet. She held on tightly as she tested it out for a moment or two, just standing there, not putting much weight on the new leg. Her hip hurt from where it had grown, but if that was the extent of it, she could live with that. Of course the whole leg ached, but she was sure it was growing pains, nothing else. Slowly she put more pressure on it, keeping hold of Renathan, until all of her weight was on that leg. She was a little weak, that's why she was holding on to Renathan for the moment, but that was fine, she would toughen up. She pulled up her pant leg a bit and looked at it a little, noting there was no scarring where there used to be scarring, and it wasn't twisted around a little either. It looked perfect!
A laugh escaped her and she hugged Renathan as she stood there on two good legs, then planted a kiss on his furry cheek. She loved it, and she was beyond excited! Of course there was a lesson to be learned in all of this, Bane wouldn't come around every time, she needed more magic to do this, but that was fine she figured with a little smile on her face. As long as she kept working toward it, everything would be fine. Jack grinned at the man in front of her, "It's perfect! I think I'll be fine if you want to go rest some, all this has been rough on you too. Thank you so much for everything you've done!"

Renathan knew that Jack was probably nervous, but it still made him feel sad. He hated that there was a reason for her to feel nervous. He did his best to help her up, and then watched gingerly, holding her gently but not too much, watching her test out her leg. She seemed okay... He waited for a moment as she put more pressure on it, and was super pleased to see that she seemed to be doing well; not perfect, but well. Renathan was quiet but grinning as she seemed to get her bearings. Her leg certainly looked good now, if not a little weak; but it was not twisted anymore! Renathan looked excitedly into her face as she seemed to realize it; and then the laugh made him excited.
The hug was definitely expected but still great, and then he realized that she was basically standing mostly on her own, since she was holding him. He was glad; he took the kiss with minimal embarrassment onto his cheek, and then he gently rubbed the cheek on her cheek, whichever was closest to him. He caught himself laughing, the anxiety washing out with the laughter. "Oh, I am so glad you are okay Jack!" He could almost cry; he'd been so worried about her that he had no idea what to do, and now everything was fine, and somehow that was also scary, and...
Renathan focused, to make sure he wouldn't cry, and then stepped back, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "No, thank you Jack. You really are the best, and I- I was so scared!" He was definitely tired, and it was showing. He could barely keep his emotions in check. Auburn seemed oblivious to the moment, rubbing against both of their sets of legs on any side she could get too.

"Honestly I'm really happy about it too," Jack told him with a smile as he nuzzled her cheek with his. She hugged him again and then pulled back, a little unsteady on her feet, but standing by herself now, completely free of everything. There wasn't much else to do now, she needed a shower and more rest, she figured, but then she would be right back to where she had been before, if not better now that she could keep moving a little bit better. Honestly, she could only imagine running with some of her animals, feeling the wind through her hair...
Jack grinned a little at the thought and then hugged Renathan again out of instinct, "Still, thank you so much for being there for me, I can't imagine what you went through trying to figure out if I was going to be okay. I really, really appreciate it, more than you think." Smiling a little softer, she reached up and touched his cheek with the fingertips of her right hand. It was amazing what could happen at the moment, but she didn't want to bother him more than what she already had done. "I need to go take a shower, if you want to rest here or at your house, either way is fine, okay? I can't wait to put this leg through it's paces though," she told him firmly, but with a smile on her face.
