He wasn’t exactly planning to go swimming when he went into the mines...so it’s not like he had a bathing suit. He awkwardly looked down at his Lionheart and made eye contact while he pulled his pants down - leaving his underwear, of course! He stepped out of them and dipped his toes in the water. Smiling he shuddered a bit. It wasn’t the warmest - but it surprisingly wasn't cold. He wondered why that was as he stepped i. And felt the water climb up past his ankle. Then up closer to his knee, and waste, and oooh! The hip and stomach was always the most sensitive to get cold.
His lionheart stepped into the water but refused to go all the way in. Riku remembered his thick fur could cause him to drown...it was okay. They didn’t have to swim, and he likely wouldn’t be long. He just wanted to explore a bit under water and refresh.

This was so nice! Once his body had adjusted, he was freed up to move a lot easier. He liked the way the water slipped past his skin and played with the hydrodynamics of paddling with his fingers ‘closed’ or ‘open’. Should he get his hair wet...? He laughed, looking over at his animal companion, and splashed water into his own face. Guess there was no going back! He found that rash decisions helps combat his usual inability to choose. Sometimes got him into trouble, but saved time. He took another ‘handful’ of water and swept it over his head, drenching his hair and pulling it back over his scalp. The water was so refreshing. He could feel the hydration but also the energy of the water. It was exhilarating! Almost alive....which reminded him...
“Do you think there is a heat vent under here somewhere?” He asked through the ribbon. The lionheart shrugged and turned his head, stepping forward slightly - but still unwilling to go in.

“I’ll go check.” He said, causing his friend to whimper out loud. “Don’t worry, Aslan. I’ll be right back.” he said as he curved his body and allowed himself to sink into the large pond. Not quite a lake - but it was quite large. About a hundred feet in diameter, though it wasn’t exactly round. Riku wanted ti know how deep it went - how deep could it go while already underground? Fortunately, it was still bright enough outside for him to see underwater, though he did note at this time that the sun was retreating. He was glad there wasn’t a lot of dirt or muck or algae that could get in his eyes...or, y’know, generally gross him out. There didn’t seem to be much life here - bug he also held into hope that there was fish of some sort. Maybe a monster! Er...hopefully not another monster.

Aslan whimpered again as his master was under water. He could still see him, but it was blurry and too far fir him to intervene if he needed help. He considered jumping in, but...he wasn’t quite that devoted yet. Yet. He looked around that section of the pond for other creatures that Riku may need saving from, and fortunately didn’t see anything...yet.
Under water, Riku was surprised to not find a full-bottom yet. There was a curve downward that he followed that just kept going. Ge’d need to come back up for air soon - but, oh! There was a sudden drop off! It was huge! Like another mini-cave under the pond. Could it lead to an underwater chasm...!? Yeah...he’d definitely need an amulet of underwater submission. For sure. Like, now. However, for now-now he’d have tk go up for air. It was getting dark....maybe they could come back tomorrow.
They were definitely coming back to this place soon - and often. This was going to be their mining home-base.
