So, you've joined the site and now it looks huge and confusing, right? And what are all of these 'chapters'? Where do I actually start, and how do I get creatures? What is this game? Or maybe you're an oldie from the old site or just generally confused/forgetting things? Don't worry, we've got you covered!First things first, hello, and welcome to our lovely forum! Forum roleplaying is VERY reading heavy, and VERY writing heavy. These things may not be for everyone, but this style of roleplaying forum is actually quite rewarding and good for both long-term and short-term gaming. We hope to see you around and playing, even if you don't necessarily feel like roleplaying with others. Plenty of us love to write and would love to play with you, though! All writing skill levels are allowed and desired, as long as the rules are followed!
In addition, this game heavily relies on Stats, meaning, numbers, but they are fairly simple to understand! We will go over them later. If you are confused as to how to Navigate, here's the front page! You can use the links in the areas to 'go places' on the site. This site, and the things official to it are referred to in one of two ways-1. HxR, meaning Hidden Crossroads. This was an old moniker for the roleplaying site. 2. MML, meaning Magical Menagerie Laboratories. Technically, this is what the Labs are called. -The Basics of Characters-I created an Account, what do I do now? Start HERE by reading the rules. These can be found in the Player Guide Subforum, which is clearly marked on the front page. You certainly want to read all of the rules, they are the most important part of the game. Do you have questions? First Read this thread and use it to explore! Then you can ask your remaining questions by making a thread Here, or by messaging the members Jack or Renathan. People are very friendly, and willing to help. -To make a thread in that subforum, click the 'Create Thread' button in the top right hand corner. -To message Jack or Renathan, click 'Messages' under the top banner, and then click 'Create Message' in the top right hand corner. Then, type in Jack or Renathan's name and write a message to ask us questions! Okay, I read the rules, but what is the site about?Awesome! Our Official description is HERE and is coincidentally found in the same place as our Character Subforum is, which is where you will be starting to get ready for your new adventure. If it looks a bit scary, I promise that once we break it down, it'll be quite easy to understand! "I would first like to give a more basic explanation of our world. Our characters live in Pethia; a continent completely cut off from all of the others. In this world, magic was once asleep, but is beginning to wake up again due to an unexplained phenomena. For a long time, peoples lived in certain areas of Pethia with varying levels of technology, but suddenly there sprang up (in the middle of the map) a large technological city! This city was founded around a Laboratory that was home to a scientist (or group of scientists?) that made mystical, strange creatures of varying types. These creatures were highly desired among the populace due to their powers and various uses, and after a long while, they began out-competing natural species! Characters are usually beast-tamers, and work to train these creatures! The scientists have been very quiet for a long time now, and no one is quite sure why. Your character could have any background, and any reason in the world to have come to the Labs City, just as everyone else did. What mysteries lie beyond the City's outskirts? What strange things are going on within the Lab's Off-limits walls? What even are these strange and wonderful creatures? We can only hope to find out the answers to these questions and many more!" Now that you have that, we'll start working on the most important part of all; Character Creation. Character Creation? This is perhaps the most important aspect of the site. Your character is your method of actually doing things on the site! But remember, your character is not you, and people are not their characters. A user may be very kind and considerate, while having a character that is an absolute villain! Remember to respect everyone else when not being in-character! We will go over when to be in character, and when not to in order to be polite later. In order to Create a Character, please read HERE. If you have any questions, remember the advice above! So, you have to fill out the form listed above, and post it HERE. You will be titling it your character's name. In fact, the name of your account has to be your character's name (first name, first and last name, however you want to do it), you can only have one account, and one character. Here are some of the links you will need to properly build your character! - Here are the 'canon' languages that most characters will speak in- I always suggest common, because most characters speak common. You can also make up your own language! - Here are the 'attributes'. Always pick (1) attribute from under the race that your character is. For attributes that give an ability or a move, we'll go over that in a bit. - Here are the 'traits'. You may only pick (6) in all, and you only start out with (6) points to spend! Make sure to read all of the information, some of these have long-reaching effects! - Here are the 'skills'. You start out with (4) skill points, unless you have left over trait points, in which you can add them to this amount. Skills are what your character knows how to do in game! Don't worry, you will be able to earn more. -Also, the skill list has the 'Skill Groups' listed so that you can choose for your character. Remember that characters, all of them in fact, start out with '3' in every stat unless an Attribute or Trait changes this. C: Whenever your character is posted up in the Character Creation subforum, you must wait. VERY soon, either Jack or Renathan will come along and check to make sure you did everything fine. If you didn't, don't fret! We will message you to talk about the issue, usually it is super easy to fix (IE: a small math error). If everything checks out, it will be moved to the Approved Characters subforum by us! Then you can play!
Character levels are quite important, and will allow you to earn skill points! For every level your character earns, they get one additional skill point! Characters earn 1 level every 10 posts in most roleplaying IC areas. Characters earn 1 level every 20 posts in 'Advanced' areas, and 1 level every 5 posts in the Plot Area. We will go over this more later. While you are waiting for your character to be accepted (shouldn't take long!) please Read the following otheer Tutorials, to get a feel for some of the things you can do. Don't worry if they are confusing, we'll go over those things again a little later on. These are just the basic tutorials, but there will be more for the more advanced areas of the site. There are lots of things to do here! MML Basic Tutorial: How to Get Started

Part Two: What do I do Now?Now you should have your character, that is great news! I can't help but wonder what you picked, characters are very fun to come up with! I hope you have lots of muse for writing, new HxRdian! There are a few more things that we need to go over, as a preface to get you ready for your roleplaying experience.
Remember to be polite when working with others while following the rules. Remember to write in readable sentences (no excessive chatspeak please!) and to be responsible in your workings with others, be it in regular conversation or in roleplaying circumstances!
- You may write OOC (out of character, as yourself, the user) In the following areas: Anywhere in the Player Center and Resources areas. These are found in the topmost part of the site when looking at the front page. This is everything from the 'News and Announcements' to the 'Fun' areas. Remember these, because if you are playing a mean character, and trying to talk to others in the OOC areas, people may be confused or think you are flaming them! We definitely don't want that.In order to let people get to know you, you can post a thread in the Hello and Goodbye area! Please do not use your real name or anything that people would be able to find you with, that is quite irresponsible. Of course, you have to be at least 13 to play here, and being responsible online is very important! Oversharing may be dangerous anywhere online.Feel free to use the Chat and Misc area to your heart's content to post OOC. This is kind of the heart-and-soul of the site to our members!-The Babble Board is for general topics and conversations! Forum games would go here if you want them!-The Advertisements is for, well, advertising! Use this if you are looking for a roleplay partner, setting up a plot idea for others to look at, or generally looking for something.-The Trading Post is for if you want to buy or sell a creature or item that you have. It is OOC, and usually requires credits. We'll go over credits a little later.-The Journals are for you to keep up with any information you need to, that doesn't go in your Kennel or your Character Sheet. We'll talk about kennels a bit later.-The Suggestions and Ideas area is for serious site suggestions/ideas. Remember that not all suggestions will be accepted or will be feasible, but they will be looked at.-The Debate Board is where your arguments go. Try to keep your debates here, POLITE. Do not flame other members, just present your side and leave it. No name calling or otherwise will ever be permitted! The Fun area is a lot like the Chat and Misc area.-Sketch Pad is for those of you that do artwork! You can post your artwork there to share it with everyone.-Scribbles is for those of you that write poetry or prose.-Misc Roleplay is for those of you that want to play with someone on here without it being official! Your character will not gain levels here, and you do not have to write anything that has to do with MML/HxR if you don't want to.-Creator's Corner is for if you want to make and sell adopts! These CANNOT be used for official roleplaying, but feel free to make adopts.-Adoptable Storage is a place for folks to store adopts from other sites. These CANNOT be used for official roleplaying, but feel free to keep them there.-Other Sites is for talking about other sites you play on! Remember that right now we have a no-offsite-trade policy.-Official Contests will have threads made by mods, where you can enter an official site contest if one is running!-Contests and Events is for the members to make their own contests and events for! You can make a thread here, but not in the Official Contests area!Check out the NEWS whenever something pops up! Information is GREAT to have, especially when there are changes. You may post in a thread, but do not post a thread; only mods can post a thread here, to keep it clean.-Public Projects is for the public projects Mods are working on! Don't fret if there isn't much there, we are working behind the scenes too!-The Fleamarket has to do with PETS! Pets are in our next section, so we'll get there. c;The Help area is for your questions, getting training accepted, the tutorials (you are here!), and the credit transfers.-Feel free to post questions either in the Forum Help or MML Help Sections.-The Training area is incredibly important for pets; which will be spoken about below.-The Credit Transfers is going to be your bread and butter!**See your POST COUNT? It is Beneath your avatar, or your name on the side of all of your posts. It is also listed under your User page when you click your account's name! Your Post Counter IS your credit count! Your 'credits' are your characters money. That money can be used to purchase pets or items in the Trading Post or Official Shops! When you go to buy something from another member, Go to the Credit Transfers for the current month (the unlocked one- and not the shop one!) and fill out the form, then post. Your credits will be deducted when you buy something, or added whenever someone buys something from you! Be sure to read the rules for this! You've already learned about the Characters Section, but feel free to read through some of the things we haven't gone over yet if you want. We'll go over those in depth later on!We will go over the Huge Stat Area (no joke) in the next section, with the pets, since these aspects of the site are closely linked.- You need to write IC (in character, as your character) In the following areas:Anywhere beneath that, in the Magical Menagerie Labs & Canyon of Eterra areas. That is everything below the Player Center and Resources area.We will be going over some of these areas more in-depth later, but we will go over a few of them now.The Magical Menagerie Labs Section is where you will spend most of your roleplaying time, I am sure.-The City is a great place. It has all of the Official Shops*, the Adoption Agency, Curious Collections, and the Healer's Temple in it. These areas are for roleplayers that need something specifically from there. These always need to be done IC and always need to have their rules followed. Read all of the information in there that were posted by the NPC account in order to get all of the information you need. In addition to this, you will need to make a thread in the areas of each of them in order to use them, a new one for each time you visit. In these areas, an NPC will intereact with your character! It Is wise for your character to be on their best behavior in these areas and only use them if you need their purpose or the NPC may throw the character out.
-In addition to this, the City has residential areas. If you are looking to use this Feature, please note that in order to have a thread there, you will need to buy a Permit here, whenever you have enough credits if you want one. That thread has all the instructions. You will need credits, so this is usually a decent-term goal for roleplayers to get. Don't worry, most characters that don't have a home have a kennel to stay at; which we will talk about more later. The Residential areas are as follows: Avant Vall, Miisaa Avenue, Centu Street, Calsten, and the Community Center. Remember you have to have a permit to make a house in one of these areas, and the Community Center is mostly for characters that live in these areas to roleplay together. Note that you don't actually need to have a 'home' in a residential area to play the site!
-The Midnight Panther and Keeps of Glory will take visitors/members whenever the owners are around; I'd suggest talking to the owners via PM. The Keeps of Glory is generally a VERY serious roleplaying environment for training pets and characters, and the Midnight Panther is a night-club and has it's own rules. The Laughing Skull Tavern is of course, a tavern, and is closed for repairs at the moment. -The Basic Section is quite important to playing with your pets! We will get into this and the Advanced Section for IC roleplaying in the next section!
The Canyon of Eterra is a section where you can play with certain dragons called draconics that can be found on the site that are quite different from pets. This part of the site is quite easy, but the draconics themselves have a very complex nature. You will need to read this tutorial, we will go over this more after the advanced section.

Part Three: Pets?Pets are incredibly important. The plot in the site revolves around them, most characters train pets as their main hobby, job, or perhaps for something more sinister or perhaps even for protection. A well trained creature can do many marvelous things for their owner. From housepet to pit fighter, pets are the pride and joy of the site. Lets get into them!Pets are usually created by the Labs for some purpose or another, and most are released to the public to be adopted! Adopting a currently-available pet is the best way to get your first creatures. Creatures are rumored to not always be made by the Labs; but no character ever knows very much about anything Labs related. Most information is a mystery, and must be inferred through the site! It makes for interesting and varied roleplaying. The first thing you want to do, before we get into actually adopting the pets, is to make yourself a Kennel. Kennels are a great resource, you may have (1) kennel. In order to make one, you just make a thread in this area in the Basic subforum that we talked about earlier! You don't roleplay in your kennel, but you can describe the place if you want, or not at all if you want. It can look any way that you want, but most people post the image of the creature, and some information about it (like the name, gender, stats, personality, etc.). This will probably be the place where most, if not all, of your critters live. Here are some ways to get a Pet, and how to do so.-The Adopt Me! thread has codes for some currently available species! Pick whatever you like, they are free to get. You may only adopt (2) of each color (referred to as Breeds) of each species, unless you trade or buy for another.-The Trading Post is great, just check out some user shops, and ready very carefully to figure out what they are selling their pets for before offering! You might find something you won't be able to get anywhere else.*-The Tutorials sometimes have a few creatures codes in them that you are free to get. Try Here, Here, & Here. Some of these have special systems attached, please read all of them if they interest you! There will also be some in the Orbaru and Draconic tutorials.-You can buy some creatures in some of the official shops in the city! They will cost credits, however.-You can find some pets by roleplaying in certain areas, but this is rare! The Mines, Gardens, and Eccentric's Mansion are all places where this is possible; but we will go into them more later, and I will link the tutorials then.-The APAA (adoption agency linked in the post above) will sometimes have nice pets that you must roleplay to adopt.*Remember not to beg, as that is against the rules. There are a few other places that you can keep a creature, in certain circumstances. Be sure to read these circumstances though.-The Gardens are for plant creatures. Plant creatures will be listed Here, please check it out! You can actually roleplay in your garden, as it acts like some of the more advanced sections we will be talking about in the next section.-People that have a housing permit can keep pets on their property.-The Canyon City is like a kennel for draconics! You can adopt one of the special ones at the Rookery. Please read the Draconic Tutorial linked in the above post before using this area. The most important thing to remember is Do not under any circumstances or for any reason steal a pet. This is against the rules and is an immediately bannable offense. If you haven't either been provided or given the code by the old owner, or by the site officially, you do not own the pet! This game operates by a system of earning things, so this rule is tantamount.I have a pet! What Now?So you have at least one pet now, huh? That is great! There are a multitude of things you can do with it, but there are some important things we need to look at now before you play with your beloved creature. Let's talk about it.The first thing we need to tell you about is the status of the pet. This status is a classification that lets you know whether to, and where to, register a creature. What is registration? It is where you let the mods know, in public that you have the ownership of a certain creature or items. We will get into items a bit later, since we are working on pets right now. c;-If your creature was gotten at the adopt me! thread, you do not have to register them. These are called 'Common' Creatures.-If you got your creatures from a member, and they were a lot like the common creatures but where not in the adopt me! thread, they were probably an LE. These are not easily gotten, but should not be registered.-If you got your creatures from a member and they have a strange name in the code, a VSC voucher, or by buying them pre-made from a Fleashop, they are basically VSC (Very Special Creatures) and DO Need to be registered! It will probably have 'VSC' in the code.-If you get a creature and it says 'offspring' in the code and then has a number after an underscore, it is an Offspring. These DO need to be registered HERE. Please read Here on how to do that. Offspring will probably already have stats, but you can list it in the first link that you bought it and from whom.-If you get a creature and it says 'custom' in the code, and probably has a username in it, it is a Custom. These DO need to be registered HERE. Please read Here on how to do that. Customs will probably already have stats, but you can list in the first link that you bought it and from whom.-If you get a creature from Tinker's Trinkets, it's probably a robot. Please Register these here.-If you get a creature from Herbologist's Delight, it's probably a plant. Please Register these here.-If you get a creature from the Zoological Imports, you will be told what it is. Some will need registering in the correct area, you can find that in this list.-If your creature is a NON-BROWN Sarane, it needs to be registered, Please Register these here; though some will be offspring. Please check.-If you get it from the Mines, Gardens, or Mansion, these are 'prize' pets. Please Register these here.Use this registry thread for VSC, Crossbreeds, Garden, Mansion, Mining, Plants, Non-Brown Sarane, Robots, Wild Creatures, and Veil Creatures. Some of these will sound quite foreign to new users, and that is because some of those old systems simply don't exist and can't give out pets anymore (Veil, probably even Wild). The best thing is to ask the member you bought it from what it is for a while, until you learn about what certain creatures are! Here is the Registries and you thread, you will need to know all of that information! If you post in a registry thread, and suddenly it disappeared, a Moderator has completed your request, no need to worry! If you have ANY question, as a mod if not the person you bought it from! It's Registered- what next? Now that you have your pet and you presumably have it registered that you own it, we can talk about the next aspect. Stats. I already mentioned them just a moment ago, and linked you to a couple of registry threads that are from the Huge Stat Area. We will now talk about what we see here! It looks daunting at first, but I promise that it is one of the more fun aspects of the site. The Stats are what allows the pets to battle in the fighting pit after all! We'll talk about that in the next section. Training has everything to do with stats of your creature.
- The Stat Basics is the most important stat section, and the first one you need to look at. It is somewhat complex, but I will try to be expedient. --First look at the Base Stats, this will explain to you what the stats actually are, and what they do. It is fairly simple. -- Power levels are a way of categorizing how strong a creature is. It directly correlates to the numerical stats of the species, but it is more of an overall thing. -- Cunning is a guideline on how smart your pet should be. All humanoids (characters) are at (5) on this scale. -- Mount List is a list of all creatures that you can take your riding skills for. -- Introduction to Elements should tell you the lore aspects of the elements that some attacks have. -- Creatures by Element will list all of the labs-made species and what elements they have a natural affinity towards. -- Loyalty and Levels is super important for training, please make sure you read and understand this! -- Limitations are important to keep in mind when you start your training! -- Tricks are simpler things you can train your pets that do not have anything to do with battle. That doesn't make them any less important! -- Moves are very important to learn, but not every pet can learn some of them! In fact, most can't learn most of them. These are usually for battles. -- Ability list is for all of the natural or trainable things that your creature can do with it's body. These are never attacks, but may have to be used. So now we know a little bit about the stat system, right? We are going to learn about the creatures themselves! - MML Stats have all of the base species stats! This includes everything that is NOT a Custom or Offspring. In fact, you can come here to find the base stats to use for a new custom or offspring, if you have one that doesn't have stats! - Draconics Stats have all of the stats for the draconics! - Halfbreed Stats are for all of the halfbreeds/crossbreeds on the site! - Offspring Stats are for offspring, you can probably find them there in their species thread. - Custom Stats are for customs, you can probably find them there in their species thread. - Unique Stats are for difficult-to-get customs that are special. Usually from the Dark Corners in fact! - Alterations are for registering pets that you've used either an injection or a growth or shrinking potion on. Now that you've looked at that, I have to bring up training. You get 1 TP per level that your pet has. Every move and ability that can be trained has it's own TP cost. Your pet must have at least enough unused TP to actually learn the move/ability, BUT you don't have to use that many posts to train it. Training is technical, and depends on your writing skill. Training a creature has to do with repetition, a command sign (word, noise, or hand sign), and of course treats! This works exactly like your animals in real life. Your pet will usually gain 1 level and usually 1 loyalty every 5 posts. In the plot area, your pet will gain 1 level and 1 loyalty every 10 posts instead; that is the only area that does this. Some pets (see the loyalty and levels) gain more or less loyalty per set of 5 posts than others; but usually it is the same. This loyalty is TO YOUR CHARACTER ONLY and is a scale of it's bond with you! It is lost if you get rid of the pet, but the levels are not tied to your character. The pet's levels are it's own. To train your pet, Make a thread HERE if it can live on land, and Make a thread HERE if it can only live in water. Draconics will need to be trained here. These are the only places pets should be trained moves, abilities, and tricks normally; but there is currently a Training Guild that allows training there, but only if you are a member! The Fleamarket?
The Fleamarket is a special place where you can buy Custom creatures, Special coins for the Dark Corners, or Breedings (offspring or crossbreeds) of your own creatures for real money. That's right, no credits here (unless the shop specifically mentions that they take credits- it will be listed if they do.) Currently, this is the only way to get new customs that you design, breedings for Numbered Species, or other such things on-site! Read carefully and follow that to a T, it is very important.I don't personally suggest the Fleamarket to be your first stop for your first creature, if only because it is good to learn the site before going and doing stats on your own, but feel free to if you want to! c; The art quality is really great, just remember- no credits there! The Dark Corners is the last way, and most difficult way, to get a creature. It is seriously roleplay intensive and very complex, not to mention most things there require a $30 magical coin bought from the Trepuldra! Feel free to check that out if you want, but be prepared for a complex roleplaying environment. We will revisit the Dark Corners idea again when we get to the section about player-character combat options, which will be quite brief due to complexity. So what will be next? You are probably wondering about the more Advanced areas of the site now. We will be going over that in the next installment (posted below)!

Part Four: Time to get Advanced The Advanced sections may sound scary, but they are actually quite simple. The reason they are referred to as being 'Advanced' is that each section has its own rules, some of which may require prior thought to properly roleplay there. We will start by looking at the Advanced Areas in the Magical Menagerie Labs section, and then finish in the Advanced Areas for the Canyon of Eterra section for this segment.
Remember that pets can only be in one area at a time (unless one of those areas is the Plot Area). Your character can generally be only in on thread in a time in each area. So you can be in multiple areas as a character (one thread in each), but one at a time with the pet.
It is import to remember that in all areas that are 'Advanced' areas, your character will earn levels at 1 level per 20 posts, and your pets will gain levels and loyalty normally. The only exception is the Plot Area, in which your character earns levels at 1 level per 5 posts, and your pets gain levels and loyalty at 1 level per 10 posts.
The best part about the Advanced Roleplay section is that you can find loot in a few of the areas, perform breedings of the species that can be bred (Pachee, Orbaru, etc.), and otherwise explore the setting of the game in ways that would not otherwise be possible.
Remember your character's Skills? They come in handy all over the site, but they will especially come in handy in the loot-gathering areas, where certain skills may help you find more or better loot! Getting Advanced in the Labs
Be sure to check all of the locked or pinned threads in all of these areas to get a better bearing as to what is required to use these areas. The Advanced area in the Labs always has a Labs-setting, but each setting is different and most of the time unique to each area. It is paramount to become as familiar as you can with the area's uses and their rules. The Advanced Section of the Magical Menagerie Labs can be found here, just below the Basic Section. -The Contest Hall is an area in which pets can be 'shown' in a situation somewhat like a dog show. There will be new shows semi-regularly, depending on how popular the area is at the moment. The Contest Hall has a system in which it is judged, the idea is to show up with your creature, and then have it perform several of it's moves/abilities (whatever you think is best!) in the show ring. You should not make a new thread in this area as it is mod-ran. -The Fighting Pit is an area in which folks who enter tournaments (or need to break a drake) will participate or compete with others. You will need to read the Tournament Quick Guide to understand this a little better. -The Breeding Center is an area in which you can post a thread and breed your creatures! There are only a few creatures that can be bred in this area, including Lotine, Pachee, and Orbaru. Check out how to breed pachee and orbaru. -The Garden is an area that doubles as both a place for you to keep your plant pets (like a kennel) and a place for you to roleplay in; to get loot! You can only have one garden thread, but you can post in your thread however much you want. Check out the Garden Rules. -The Mines is an area in which you can make your own thread (just one) and post in it in order to try to find loot! Check out the mining rules. You may also post in the Mining Party Thread to roleplay with other people while mining. -The Plot Area, as we discussed previously, is specifically for your character to grow as a character! Characters grow at one level per five posts, and pets at 1 level and loyalty per ten. Pets can be here and somewhere else at the same time. However, do not misuse this area. Your thread must have a plot to count here. -The Gemstone Workshop is currently closed for renovations to our knowledge, but we will go over it later whenever it re-opens. -The Eccentric's Mansion is a lot like the Mines; it is an area where you can make one thread, and roleplay in it to try to find loot! The Mansion has an interesting monthly theme rotating premise, so please check out both the rules and the themes! -We touched on the Dark Corners a bit earlier; this is an advanced roleplay section in which, when combined with a special magical coin, you can perform a plot roleplay to order a special creature type that wouldn't otherwise be available! -The Questing area is a new section in which you can post a thread and attempt to complete the monthly quest by roleplaying! This quest is completed for points and prizes most months, and some months it will be more difficult than others. Please check the the current quest! You may post a new thread here for every quest that you attempt, and you are encouraged to roleplay here to your heart's content as long as it is attempting the quest. -There is a hidden advanced section referred to as Cloud 18, for those that are 18+ and wish to roleplay sensitive topics. In order to gain access, you must message Jack. Remember that the rest of the site is PG13, and you MUST be 18 or over to join there, and you must keep everything that happens there from spilling out into the rest of the site. Do not under ANY circumstances talk to anyone under 18 about anything that goes on there, and try to keep it separate from anyone that may not want to hear about some of the sensitive topics.Getting Advanced in the Canyon
The Canyon's advanced Roleplaying areas are quite sparse, but still quite useful! Your Draconics are the main 'pets' that can be roleplayed here, but they are actually more like people in practice. Your character spends time with their draconics in the Canyon of Eterra. Your Draconics can be kept in the Canyon City; which is like a kennel for your draconics. You may train or hang out with them in the Inner Canyons. Both of those places are considered 'Basic'. The advanced areas for the Canyon of Eterra are as follows, and can be found just below the Basic Section, Here. -The River Below is for fishing! Check the rules carefully. Your character and their draconic/s can go fishing here and have a leisurely time. You will get loot rolls like the mines in your single thread. -The Shrine of the Soul Stone is a sacred place in which the truly worthy Character and Draconic can be permanently bonded. Your character can only have one bonded draconic, and it takes a lot of roleplaying to get them to the point to where they would be comfortable bonding with you! Please check the rules here.
-The Clutch Temple is for draconic breeding. You can still pick up a new draconic friend here at The Rookery that we discussed a little bit earlier. Please read that section carefully. A short roleplay will be required. -In addition, there is a special area called 'The Barracks'. For the foreseeable future, the Barracks is closed and missing information. Now what do we do?
Congratulations! With this, you are now completely ready to go explore the site yourself, and figure out what you want to do as a player! We will be going over a few tips and tricks after this, as well as a small amount of extra information on the site's origins and history. These next few sections will be quite short, but are a good addition if you are feeling a bit stuck.
Good luck on your journey; we hope to see you around!

So I've been here a while / I am just returning...Hello there again! I hope that you have been having fun testing some of the places on the site. Otherwise, I'm expecting that you've either been here for a bit now, or are a returning individual from one of the old sites, and need to know what sorts of things to check out first. If you are a returning member, here is what I suggest you do first!1. Check the old site (Hxrv2 Tapatalk) and try to find your old kennel, character, draconics cavern, garden, journal, and anything else you can think of. If you need help searching for this stuff, get a hold of Renathan and let them know what your old username was.2. If you want to update/change your character for the first time on here, feel free to do so. Even if you bring your old character over, please post it in the Character Creation forum!3. Re-read the rules, and most tutorials. Check the News! Even if you think you know everything by heart, if you've been gone for any length of time at all, you need to get caught up!4. Re-post your kennel, and re-register your creatures, offspring, offspring draconics, and anything that went in the registries from before the move. Set up your gardens and draconics cavern if you want.5. Get re-acquainted with everyone. c; 6. Please contact Jack in a PM to get your old Credits moved over to the new site. Give Jack a link to your old account link please.
Here is where you can read where to register your things, and what to register. It is also listed in the information above; it may be useful for you to check the posts above as well. What happened to the old site?!The Old (Hxrv2) site was lost whenever it was converted into a horribly unusable 'Tapatalk' (we call it crapatalk now as a joke) site. This conversion forced most of us to lose our credit counts, made most of us unable to use the site or find everything, and made a lot of folks think that the site was permanently dead. Thanks to the quick thinking of the mod team that was still there, this site was created to replace it. Lots of work went into bringing everything back over, but we lost quite a bit of the member base in the move. The truth is, that a lot of the member base was already gone due to the site functions slowly becoming defunct, or remaining defunct after years of neglect. We are currently in a Renaissance of sorts, working hard to reinstate what was salvageable of the site functions and goals. We urge folks to strive to be excellent to one another as the site is worked into something better for everyone. <3No, what about v3? I think we can all agree looking back on it that v3 was never going to happen, and wasn't even slightly ready to be implemented. We will not be adding anything to the site that was v3-originated, because the entire v3 idea has been defunct for years. We don't really have any information on it at all either. We'll just have to move on with what was working. Cool, but what about my secondary account?Don't worry! We now have a system for you to be able to move your secondary account. Please read this thread to check it out. Here is how you use it: This was posted in the New Updates thread.
IF you have a 'grandfathered' IE: OLD secondary Character that has an account on TAPATALK up to and only #1 of them you may do the following in this order.
1. Post In this thread with the correct Form all filled out. 2. AFTER doing that, and ONLY after doing that, make the new account with the old name. 3. AFTER doing that, register this account in this thread using the correct form. 4. AFTER doing that, and only after doing that, you can bring things over from tapatalk- here is the list of things you can do. -Bring over your character sheet; put it in Character Creation -Bring over your kennel -Bring over your home/s -Bring over your pets -Post in the registries to register all of your stuff -Post your garden thread -Post your Journal 5. Here are things you are not allowed to do on your grandfathered account up to this point. -Roleplay. AT all. Not in your kennel, not in your garden thread, and not in your homes. Your first month is not payed for! 6. Now, you CAN pay for your account using the methods mentioned in the above thread. If you do so; you can then roleplay! Yay! c: Note that your secondary character won't be moved from character creation until it is paid for the first month at least.
Alternatively, you can do 1 & 6 at the same time; if you do, you can make your account AND roleplay on it at the same time! Cool!
One last thing- what about Spirit? Spirit is gone. He is working on a whole new project, and has nothing to do with this site anymore. If you had old orders from him, he can no longer do them since there was no documentation left over and he has no files anymore. As such, the Moderators are currently trying to move the site on from the old Spirit Era. v3 was never completed and will not be added to the site. There was never anything on the back-end for the 'Beyond'. We do currently have an artist team that is working together to get the site moving along as well, but it takes time! Please be patient with us as we get the site spun back up. Thanks for Sticking with us, and pardon our Dust! <3 -The HxR Mod Team
