The members of the guild had said it would be motivating to see her train alongside them, and so here she was at the Docks with her Wiurn, Given. He was a handsome Wiurn and knew it, and he preened and took care of his leathery wings as often as he could. Though leathery, they had a hint of rubber to them as well, for any amphibious animal tended to be that way it seemed, and he was one of them. "Given!" Jack called to him as he preened on his wings a little bit, and there was no response, of course. She smiled a little and then snapped her fingers, "Given!" The combination of sounds grabbed his attention and he was awarded with a small fish for his trouble. This would go smoothly, or at least she hoped it would, and she didn't know what else to think of it really.
Given shrugged his head side to side a little as he ate the fish and eyed the woman with a hint of suspicion. He didn't know why he was out here, but it was nice to have some fresh air outside of the farm where he resided in the pond she had built for some of her more water oriented animals. Jack smiled at him and patted his neck before calling to him again, "Given!" The Wiurn made a small screech and stared at her for a moment, his neck snaking from side to side before he hissed and then started to preen again. She chuckled and tossed him a fish, which he caught once he had the scent of it. He barely chewed it, preferring instead of swallow it whole for the most part, almost like a fish, but he was almost part fish, as part of Godaiyou's line, the old original aquatic Wiurn. Luckily Given wasn't held to just water.
She knew it would be difficult to get the rest of this trained until he was a little more comfortable around her, but hey, you had to start somewhere when training creatures, right? She smiled and patted his neck before calling again, "Given!" The Wiurn whipped his head around from under his wing and hissed, getting him a bop on the nose for his crimes, "No!" He snarled and shook his head to get the sting out from his tender nose before responding to her again when she called his name, "Given!" He seemed to be intelligent enough, though she doubted he had connected the name with himself yet, just fish. Still, she tossed him a small fish and then patted him on the neck again, wondering what she would end up training after she was done with him at this point. Oh well, she could figure that out another day, she figured.
The water seemed like it was still a little cool, at least if the breeze coming off of it had any say in the matter. She stretched out, in jeans and a swim top, ready to get into the water any time in order to train him, but that would happen later on, he still needed the basics for now she figured, plus she didn't want to get too ahead of her guild mates. "Given!" Jack called again, smiling and patting him on the neck when he looked at her, eager for some fish, but there was none to be had. Instead she simply praised him for it, "Very good, Given! Good Given!" The woman smiled and patted him again before he snorted in disgust and went to preening again. He had to look good for any females that might be around, though they were sterile for the moment at least, she hadn't heard of them breeding for awhile.
"No, Given!" she said, smacking him on the nose again when he lunged for the fish at her hip. He jerked back indignantly but paid attention when she said his name, which was rewarded with a pat on the neck after he soothed his sore ego. He knew he was handsome and that was the issue, training a prideful animal was difficult, but he was getting it a little bit at a time at least. Jack frowned a little, she just wished it wasn't so hard to get done, and she knew he would be testing her from time to time as things went on. Well, she would get it figured out, no worries there, but she just wished it would be a touch easier than having to deal with his wounded pride so often. She frowned a bit and patted him on the neck again as he reached in for one, and she absently gave him a little fish for being a little loving with her for a moment at least.
Okay then, at least once more and then they could move on to something else, she needed to get him a little more experienced before this training was over, after all! "Given!" she told him again, and he switched his head around to look at her, as he was staring off into the water a little bit, perhaps contemplating being more of an ass than he already was. This would be hard, because she hadn't realized just how bad he was until they had come to the docks. Jack sighed a little and then patted him on the head when he went sniffing around for a fish, to which he seemed to pout a little and then exhaled hard in a snort. He was a little upset he hadn't gotten a fish, but that was alright he supposed, just a little attention from the... wait, no! He needed fish! It was the only way he would survive, he was wasting away!
Given lunged at the food near her hip again and she smacked his nose away hard, making him hiss and pull back again, "No Given! Seriously man!" Given pouted again as best as he could, but he paid attention to his name, almost snapping to attention as it was said. He shook his head afterward and stared at her, trying to figure out what black magic she had used to get him to pay attention to such an unworthy creature. Given sulked for a moment while Jack laughed, but she finally tossed him a little fish to make up for it. He was going to learn, even if it was going to be the hard way, she figured, and if he sulked, then so be it, she could work with that a bit. She just hoped the whole training wasn't going to be like this, that would make for long, long days of training.
Well that was done, and annoyingly enough, she had more to do with him for the moment. She sighed a little and patted him on the neck before she backed up a bit and looked at him, "Come here, Given." He perked up at his name and at the fish that she produced from the pouch at her hip. It was waterproof and leak proof so any of the fish juices wouldn't escape from it, luckily. She really didn't want to have it oozing down her leg or anything, that was just gross. Jack smiled as he came to her and she tossed him the fish. There was nothing more than want of the fish though, so she knew there was a bit of work they were going to have to do in order to get this done. "Good come, Given!" she told him, patting him on the head. Eventually she would get a clicker or something to help instead of food.
Jack backed up some more while Given ate the fish and then whistled to him, getting his attention, "Come here, Given!" The Wiurn stared at her for a moment, but lunged toward her again when she produced another fish. She wasn't afraid of him, though maybe she should be considering he was bigger and stronger than she was, but she still put one foot back just in case he lunged a little closer than he had. Still though, she patted him on the side of the neck and gave him the fish, "Good come, Given." He managed to down the fish and then began preening a bit again. He was far too into his image it seemed, but it didn't look like that was going to be an issue when it came to training. As long as she gave him a good rubdown with the scale oil she had back at the house after training, he should be fine.
"Okay Given, come here!" she called after backing up again and producing a fish. He lunged and nipped at her in order to get it, though she smacked him hard on the nose for his actions, "No!" Shrinking back a little, he hissed and snaked his head to the side a bit, glaring at her as he touched his nose with the claws on one of his wings. He hated it when she did that, but there had to be something with it, he wasn't necessarily a stupid animal, just vain and an ass it seemed. "Come here Given," Jack said sternly, holding a fish out after backing up some more, and he crept closer to her, puffing up to make himself look more intimidating it seemed. She snarled and knocked him on the nose a little to get him to cut it out but gave him the fish for coming to her anyway. At least he'd done that much, "Good come, Given."
Given would get it eventually, and he was becoming a lot less snappy as time went on, though his lunging would seem to start giving her problems eventually. Jack frowned a little and popped him on the nose again as he lunged toward the food pouch at her side, she dodged to the side as she did so, if only so she wouldn't get hit. "No, Given!" she snapped as she popped him one on the nose, and he sat back on his haunches and sulked a little. She stared him down and he hissed a little at that, to which she narrowed her eyes a little bit more and he finally calmed down. "Okay Given, come," she told him, pointing to the spot in front of her. Given slunk over to her and she readied herself for a moment as he sniffed at the pouch at her hip, but then he pulled his head back a little, his face sullen, but brightening up when she gave him a fish for doing a good job, "Good come, Given!"
If anything, maybe he was starting to learn some manners, which would be good when it was all said and done. How many more times was she going to have to do that before he learned, anyway? She frowned a little and shook her head, now knowing what to do about things just a little. "Come here Given," she told him, motioning him over though not producing any fish. Given crawled over on his back legs and the claws on his wings and sniffed at her hip a little, hissing and pulling his head back when she started to lift her hand a little. She eyed him and then nodded and patted him on the neck. At least he didn't flinch when she did that, it all worked out eventually and she didn't want him to be scared of her, just obedient. It was all going to work out no matter what, she just had to focus on the training.
Considering it was still morning, she felt not a lot of time had passed during their training just yet, which meant they had a long day ahead of them of training. That was good, she wanted to make sure she could get through a good chunk of his training today before moving on to another animal. She wanted to prove it could be done, motivate her guild mates, see what she could inspire in some way. But for right now she needed to focus on training him. "Come here, Given!" she said after backing up and motioning to him a little. He slunk forward as gracefully as he could for not being too graceful of an animal as it seemed. He would do better in the air, she was sure of it, and she patted him on the neck for doing a good job. "Great come, Given," Jack told him with a smile on her face.
"Okay Given, come here," she told him one last time and she smiled and nodded when he came over to her, and she patted him on the neck. He sniffed around at her hip but resigned himself to the idea that he wasn't going to get any treats for this, then started preening his wings a little, sulking just a bit for not getting a treat or anything. Oh well, he probably would soon enough, he figured there was something else they were going to work on, and when the treats started going away completely, it meant they would be back soon, and he smirked a little bit as best as an animal could as he thought about it a little bit. He sniffed at her pouch again, but was pushed away a little this time instead of smacked, which was immensely preferable to him it seemed, and then he simply left it alone for a little bit.

Twilight-Claw: The jewelry on tail or at the head definitely tends to be their most recognizable feature for a Mosca, and sadly their pharaoh chin piece as well. XD

Zenjesi: Your peanut costume is hilarious and adorable too!
Nov 13, 2023 15:14:29 GMT -6
Zenjesi: Yes you're correct! I guess I did a decent enough job with the drawing!

Twilight-Claw: It still looks good on Synkka. She is a shaman Mosca I'm guessing? Its mostly the tail that makes me think of it.
Nov 13, 2023 15:00:42 GMT -6
Zenjesi: I definitely like Spectral's the most too! I sort of cheated by drawing Synkka with a cloak because I do not know how to draw feathered wings, haha ^^'

Twilight-Claw: Which one do you like the most out of the three you made?
Nov 13, 2023 12:09:48 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for that compliment! Though I know with the water it doesn't look entirely great, I love the latter one I made the most.
