The chances were that even with all of this extra work, that they would not be able to prepare completely to return to the mansion in order to figure out some of the questions that Morgan was already forming that were the precursors to hypothesis of course. They would have to choose another month to come here, Morgan thought, and preferably one that there was a lot of information out about so that Morgan would know in what ways to frame these experiments at the very least. As Morgan continued to follow after these strange shadow things while carrying the blackish sarane chick that was absolutely excited that they were going to attack an enemy and the fact that the creature had at least three chicken wings in it's little mouth as they did so. Waar was living the life! Morgan, however, was beginning to realize that something was a bit wrong.

For one, the biggest thing was that no matter how fast Morgan was running; the yard seemed to be getting longer. Morgan was not the type to try harder, and instead stopped as soon as they noticed this oddity. Morgan stood there, and the tiny whelp finished the treats if uncooked chicken wing, the last ones, and immediately almost squawked irately for more. Morgan ignored this, and instead slitted their glowing green eyes instead. This was odd, and certainly not something that Morgan would have expected. Morgan would remember that there was sometimes some kind of temporal or physical change that was going on with the entire area, and that they would have to figure out what caused such things. That would be important to figure out in the future, when Morgan would find time to return. For now, Morgan simply watched the twin nightmare things coming closer to them. Were they a danger? Morgan didn't pay much mind to that possibility.

At this point, of course, something else weird decided to happen. All of a sudden, quite a few rainbow shards simply fell down out of the sky all around Morgan. Well, they didn't look like they were nodes or anything of that nature, but they would need to be picked up anyway for analyzing later on at home. Morgan bent down to do so, holding the squirmy sarane chick in their off hand for now. After all the pieces were collected and tossed into the backpack, Morgan decided that it was simply time to go home. Things were really weird around here right now, and Morgan was beginning to get an idea that their luck would eventually run out, and that something bad could happen to them since they didn't really understand what was going on right now. Morgan turned to leave, taking all of their things with them and turning the glove inside out in the chicken bag to remove it. The tiny sarane seemed fine with it, at least.

Morgan returned the very next month, knowing that they really did want to study more of what went on here in this strange place. The Mansion was always something that Morgan had associated with fake ghost stories, and the sorts of things that dumb teens did on their weekends. It was not uncommon for teenagers to make some kind of a dare to go out and stay at the mansion a night. Supposedly, there had been people go missing. Morgan thought all of that was hogwash, and planned to spend the day out here at the Mansion. Morgan had brought their backpack, a clipboard and pen, and of course, a fire-breathing monster. The creature had a band around it's mouth, in such a way as to allow it to breath, but not to allow it to breathe fire or bite. The creature floated there, at the end of the metal chain, and on a metal collar.

Morgan was quite lucky that the floating nature of the creature caused it to be easy to pull, it's strength did not translate in it's ability to float it seemed, so Morgan did not have to worry about the creature zooming off with them. However, they did know that it was important to get the creature's psycho-social effect to begin working, so that they did not have to worry about being roasted whenever stepping near the creature, anyway. However, Morgan knew that it would always be dangerous for the creature to be just randomly out and about, at least until it would listen to Morgan unconditionally. It was going to be a long and bumpy road, because this creature was not a custom, surprisingly enough, but some kind of weird offspring that Morgan was a bit surprised about. Ah well, it should be fine enough out here at the mansion, where there weren't any other people to get hurt.

Morgan felt a little like they were walking around with a balloon on a string; that was exactly what it was like to have this wiurn on a metal chain. The creature floated dully above Morgan as they walked, the creature not at all amicable, and instead obviously trying to figure out exactly how to roast Morgan as soon as the band came off from around it's mouth. However, Morgan did not plan on removing this band until the creature's psycho-social effect kicked in, so that Morgan didn't have to deal with a fire-breathing horrible monster. The bespectacled human was anything if not practical, after all.
The human opened the front gate to the mansion, and then pulled the wiurn across like the giant hell-balloon that he was, and immediately realized that for some reason, it appeared to be sundown on the other side of the gate. Just why was that? Morgan stepped across the threshold and was plunged into sunset's shade.

Morgan stood there with a bit of confusion for a moment, and then stepped back outside of the gate, much to the annoyance of the fluffy-chicken hell-kite above them, and was not as much surprised as weirded out that it was indeed morning on the outside of the gate. Morgan was not very sure how the very place of the rotation of the planet was completely changed just by being in a slightly different area; and Morgan was convinced that it had to be some kind of hologram. That was it, right? It made the most sense! Morgan stepped forward again, closing the gate behind them, and the world was plunged into sunset again. Morgan took a moment to jot down notes on their clipboard, all with the giant floating wiurn getting frustrated more and more at the lack of movement and the band on it's face. It clawed at the band, but it's feet were loosely banded too, so that it could move but not attack.

Morgan knew that a few jobs had opened up recently, and they were currently practicing to get to where they could be of use in an official labs setting. Morgan was convinced that this was going to be their chance to infiltrate the labs from the inside, and perhaps be able to figure something out about their father. In order to do that, Morgan was going to start really treating everything like a carefully noted scientific method. Morgan wanted to study everything they could, at least until they were ready. So the bespectacled human was writing on their clipboard about the strange phenomenon, and was planning to test it a bit more, whenever they could smell smoke. Morgan glanced up hurriedly, to make sure that the creature wasn't trying to breathe fire again, just in case; but luckily, it wasn't the wiurn.
Morgan blinked, and glanced around, trying to figure out where the fire smell was coming from.

It turns out, it seems, that Morgan's wiurn was not, in fact, angry because Morgan was dragging the creature back and forth across the grounds, but because there was some kind of creature nearby. It was completely unable to do anything about it; do to being tied up and otherwise floating, so it was completely not able to attack the creature or even look scary at all. Morgan glanced up frowned, tapping the end of the pen on their chin, realizing that they were not alone. There was some kind of a creature above them, and Morgan was not sure what it was! It was vaguely feline, and looked nothing like any kind of Lab's creature that Morgan had heard of. Morgan was sure they had heard of all of them thanks to the pamphlets, too! Morgan scrawled something down while looking at it, studying it. "What are you?" Morgan asked, cautiously. [6]

The caterfly meowed and jumped off of it's perch, leaning forward to sniff at the person's feet. It was a strange one, rather regal and spoiled looking, lean and mean almost, but curious at the same time. It fluttered it's wings for a moment and then sat down and started to lick a front paw.

Morgan watched as the creature leapt down, and then slowly bent down at the knees. They stopped writing, carefully holding on to the chain in their right hand, while tapping their chin with the end of the pen. Morgan was silent for a moment, and then saw the strange feline lick a paw, as if to clean itself, like a house cat. "You are like a cat, but cats don't have wings." Unless the labs gets a-hold of them, that is! "You are not an estharne, and not a mosca... Too housecat to be a mosca." It was possible that it was some kind of strange mosca offshoot, but it was doubtful. There weren't any similarities.
"Do you eat treats..." Morgan spoke, more than asked, and then gently put a piece of the jerky they planned to use with the wiurn, a torn off smaller piece of course. Morgan was more curious than anything else. Morgan watched the creature, eyes glinting green, prepared to write something down on the clip-board once more.

A pause. The caterfly leaned forward and sniffed at the treat before it quickly batted it away from the person and then licked it as though trying to get a taste of it so far. It purred and then started to eat it, chewing loudly on the tough jerky before purring more and meowing, winding it's way through the person's crouched legs in order to see if there was more.

Morgan observes the fluffy cat-thing, looking over it's wings for a moment while not getting any closer. Cats were perhaps notoriously flighty, and Morgan did not want to press their luck. Instead, Morgan began writing on the clipboard about the creature. Was this one of those strange 'mansion beasts' that sometimes showed up supposedly? Morgan had, once again, assumed that this was not a thing until it was proven. They could still be wrong, but that was the current idea brought forth, a proto-hypothesis. "Hmm, a carnivorid." Morgan spoke softly, drawn out as they noticed that the creature was indeed interested in the food.
It certainly acted like a housecat; batting the food before taking it. Morgan scrawled down a bit more information before offering another, small piece. "Hungry, huh. What is there to hunt around here..." Morgan took just a second to glance up and see if there was anything that they could think of, and then their gaze returned to the strange creature. Morgan wanted to study it more, but wasn't sure what would be the best way to do such. "I should really find a way to study you more." Morgan said, voice low. The wiurn was still not happy, but watched with a curious gaze at the things going down below him.
