At this point, Morgan wasn't really looking for anything in specificity; just taking the time as it came and checking out the world. Perhaps being a little more spontaneous would help them be tired enough to rest at night time instead of being exhausted yet staying up working on new electronic bits and bobs, or reading. Morgan was beginning to feel a little weary about such things, but spontaneity seemed to be helping to some degree. Morgan wasn't sure how this whole thing worked, and Morgan -hated- not knowing what to expect and how things worked. They liked to have plans and know how things work quite well. "Well, what do you think is in the brush over that way?" Morgan conveyed, stopping just short of the bush. "It could be anything, couldn't it?" Morgan continued, this time conveying, signing, and speaking at the same time. Shigeru looked very curious!

Today was shaping up to be a quite decent day it would seem. Sure, something quite frightening could jump out of the bush, but Morgan wasn't feeling that spine-tingly fear feeling that sometimes occurred right before an attack, so they were very sure that they were going to be quite fine. Even if something did, Morgan was sure that they would be fine. Soon enough, it turned out that Morgan was realizing that there probably wasn't anything 'in' the bush. It was the bush that was shaking like that. Morgan had never really seen a plant move like that; not of it's own accord, so they squinted at it, as if trying to decipher a language learned long ago but somehow just forgotten enough for the answers to be on the tip of the tongue and not quite known entirely. "Shigeru, the weird bush is just... Moving on it's own." What an odd thing to notice?

Morgan wished that they had the time to grab their clipboard and begin writing about this, but, they reminded theirself, today was not about them, or even about really studying the mansion; it was about bonding with Shigeru. So Morgan's attention should mostly be upon figuring things out while Shigeru was there to teach him how to find his own answers to life's questions. Morgan did not actually know much about the individual 'breeds' of tat-lung, other than they looked quite different. Golds could be quite scary looking, from what Morgan had seen in the past; they were quite regal in their demeanor. Pearls supposedly bonded the most strongly to their friends and family, but Morgan had yet to see that with Seimei, so they weren't sure if it had some sort of requirement, or if Seimei's traumatic past might have caused a permanent issue. Dynasty, on the other hand? Had never grown, Morgan had no idea.

The dynasty tat lung were like so many Labs creatures; a true puzzle. They didn't seem to grow all that quickly, compared to some other tat-lungs, and that made it difficult to have any educated guesses as to what they would look like. However, Morgan was sure that eventually, little Shigeru would grow up just like the other tat-lungs, if not just a tad slower. That meant he would need some extra time with Morgan to learn by himself, away from the other tat-lung. Eventually, Morgan planned to teach them all how to read together; though it would probably be difficult if Shigeru took too long to grow. Either way, Morgan was sure that eventually things would turn out fine. Even if Shigeru never grew; some labs creatures just... Hadn't the last few years, even when it seemed that they should have had. Ah well; it was time to check out what was going on with that strange wiggly bush!

Morgan stepped forward, hand outstretched, to try to check the bush; when suddenly a bright blue flame leapt out from it! Morgan immediately moved back, hands outstretched; searching instinctively for that familiar electric buzz. Of course, the flame didn't have that, but Morgan was absolutely mortified, for a moment. It turned out that the flame thing was just some sort of small animal of some kind; seeing as it had some sort of a face and was simply flying about now, Morgan dropped their hands, and glanced back at Shigeru for a moment, wondering just what he thought of that little outburst. Not too far away, a firefly buzzed; no two, one of them red, and the other white. Morgan had never before seen the color of a firefly. "In case you didn't notice, Fires don't normally fly around." Morgan conveyed, signed, and spoke at the same time. "And those little bugs are called fireflies."

Shigeru was here for learning, after all, and bonding, so Morgan wanted to pay as much attention to him as possible. Soon, he would need to be taught some of the same lessons that the other tat-lungs were, but Morgan had no idea when it would be a good idea to actually start that process. Probably quite soon, they thought, but they wanted to make absolute sure that no harm would be done to his small frame by transferring him to the loch to do the training. Shigeru's intelligent eyes were watching the fireflies, so Morgan decided to simply continue. "Fireflies can also be called lightningbugs. They are referred to as this because they flash lights in their tail-ends at each other. This is supposed to assist them in finding a mate; since there are many types of fireflies; they need to be able to find one of the same species. All species have specific flashing signals." Morgan explained via the triplicate method used previously.

Morgan waited a moment to let that sink in, and then continued, signing, speaking, and conveying through the tat-lung ring; "There are many things in the world that you can learn about, if only you observe them. Try to be as humane as possible when studying, since you can study more in the future if you preserve something. There is nothing more noble in the world than learning." The bespectacled human took a moment to push their glasses further up their nose so that they could see a bit better. They tended to fall down over time; but it was hard to find frames that were small enough to fit their face completely. In fact, it was difficult to find frames at all. "See how the lightning bugs fly? Their wings move so fast that they create their own lift; bugs and birds both fly; but they fly differently." Morgan as in a teachy mood, it would seem.

Morgan paused again, searching Shigeru's face out of habit for understanding for a split moment. Morgan wasn't really huge on eye contact, and didn't make it for very long at all, just long enough to see that the tat-lung was absolutely rapt with interest. Well, that was good at least. He was young enough that the basic human-ly intelligence was good enough for him, for now. Morgan knew that with any luck, it probably wouldn't always be that way, but for now, it was actually a bit refreshing. Seimei and Ryuusei had already been too old for Morgan's lessons, but thanks to Ryuusei's patience, they dealt with them well enough. Shigeru, on the other hand, would be much easier to teach, Morgan just knew. "Alright Shigeru, would you like to stay, or are you tired enough to go home?" Morgan asked, conveying, speaking, and signing carefully. The tat-lung was slowly learning how to communicate a bit better; and seemed to be... Tired. Yes, they should go home soon, start heading back.

Morgan nodded to the small blue tat-lung. "Alright, we'll go home now, and let you get some rest." Morgan gently lifted the handle of the wagon and then began to turn back, pulling the wagon along behind them. They hadn't gone very far at all, but it would still take about five minutes to get back out of the mansion grounds. They walked away from the bush, and after a while, even past the ruby red grain; stopping for just a moment to watch all of the fireworks; since Shigeru had enjoyed watching it. After that, Morgan followed the path, pulling the wagon, and then went towards the gate. "Once we get home, I'll get you some food. A few days from now, we'll work on some more lessons, okay?" Morgan conveyed only this time, to keep from having to use their hands. Soon enough they were at the gate. Morgan gave one last look around, breathing in a breath of fresh air.

Morgan had woken up that morning after the first night having the houluh in the mansion; standing up, in their underwear; holding a... Shiny red rock of some kind? It was hard like a rock, but something inside Morgan told them that it was important; precious even, and had to be protected. Morgan didn't really want to go anywhere without it, suddenly. Like it was tied to them. Morgan carefully carried the... Egg, right? The shiny red egg with them and collected the houluh. It was time to go out on a walk. In fact, by the time Morgan was around and ready, they had their backpack carefully packed to carry the red egg in some soft stuff, and then had the backpack packed with a few vacuum-packed packages of meat for the grill. Morgan had one hand pulling the rolling grill, and one hand walking the houluh on a cheap leash as they entered the mansion grounds. They were sure the mansion wouldn't mind being BBQ-central for a few hours, right?

Of course the mansion wouldn't 'mind', it wasn't like it was an animal or something, Morgan knew. They opened the gate, which sounded as if it was on oiled hinges for once, and stepped through, the houluh walking in a stately manner at the edge of the rope, and the rolling grill right behind them. It was a small affair, perfect for travelling, and light on it's wheels enough for even Morgan to bring it along carefully. "Hey Nico, we're here." Morgan said, conversationally for once. They turned behind them and shut the gate tight before gently bending down. They unleashed the houluh, and as expected, the creature immediately began sniffing around. Morgan shook their head, smiling, and then glanced around. There had to be the perfect area for grilling around here somewhere, right? The mansion grounds were so pretty today; it felt late in the evening; since the Mansion grounds were strange like that, but Morgan knew it was early in the morning.

Nico, of course, had been a perfectly behaved hound once at the mansion. Morgan had let the puppy up into their bed, even, and he slept soundly there. Morgan was quite pleased with this acquisition, he was beginning to show his true personality. The houluh was a gentlemanly creature, like a young prince, with laser-like focus and gentle ways. He even walked in a way that dripped dignity; though when it was time to play that all fell away. He hardly ever barked; Morgan had only heard him bark once thusfar; but he was very watchful. Morgan couldn't be more pleased with him, thusfar. He was staying relatively close to Morgan, but still checking out the area, even now. One wouldn't be able to tell he was excited, save for his rapidly wagging tail.
Morgan knew that he shouldn't eat too much people food, but had planned to only season their own food, so that the unseasoned ones could be eaten by the houluh.

Morgan didn't worry about the puppy causing a mess on the lawn, since he had done so a few times on the way here, and Morgan had (like all denizens of the lab) carefully disposed of the waste in the designated areas. The Lab was generally a clean place like that. However, Morgan had of course brought the needed receptacles just in case. Nico was being quite well behaved, thus far. "Nico, let's go find a flat place where we can grill." Morgan couldn't help but smile when the creature drew closer. Morgan had found a flat-looking place not far off, and it looked like a place that had a good view for the fireworks that would undoubtedly begin soonish. Morgan pulled the rolling grill along with them as they made their way slowly to that flat area. They could already taste the bratwursts in their head; and they could hardly wait to get cooking.
