It was nice to be out with a critter that was a little more low-stakes today, even if it was only going to be for a bit. That was not the only thing that Morgan was pleased with though- Ryuusei had finally done... Something. Morgan wasn't sure at all what had happened yet (they could hardly way to joke at Seimei for whatever it was that had occurred) but it seemed like Ryuusei and Seimei were hanging out again, and jumping apart whenever Morgan caught them by themselves. Acting flustered and all that mess... Yup, Morgan didn't know for sure, but they figured that Ryuusei had finally told him. It was definitely a good thing; it meant that they would be less distracted in the future, Morgan thought. However they planned to give them some time to acclimate to this change and then they figured that they would get them together to teach them again.

So, whenever Morgan had the chance to come back to this Mansion, they decided not to pester Ryuusei for it at all. It would be a shame, they figured, to break up what they admittedly assumed to be a happy couple just so that they could get their 'going on a walk with my derg family' fix. Instead, they decided that after they finished up getting Millicent all set up for learning today, and getting the houluh taken 'out' on their walk, they had come back home to scoop up Gataeu. The little dragonoak wiggled in Morgan's arms, pouting a bit with his cheeks puffed out. "Heheh, j-joke's on you, little'un." Morgan mumbled at him. "You e'nt got any fire breath to try to toast me with." Still, it was pretty cute all things considered. Hopefully today would be a good lax day at the mansion, and they might be able to find some new stuff to experiment with.

Gataeu didn't wiggle too much after his initial pouting whenever they opened the little middle gate so that they could step into the inner garden of the mansion. Or at least, it was a garden this go around. Usually it was rolling little hillock in a yard here, they noted, but now it was a strange little garden. The mansion was so weird, with it's strange changing areas and weird mutability that Morgan was never really sure what to expect. Still, Morgan slitted their eyes with some worry; this place could be super dangerous. The tiny Dragonoak wasn't really able to protect itself, and Morgan did think of that first, however, they did tend to disregard this at times. It wasn't always THAT dangerous, at the very least, and most of the time they tended to get out relatively unscathed. That was just the way that things were sometimes, but Morgan moved on past the gate anyway.

The bespectacled human was anything if not a respectful 'guest' so they turned to make sure that the gate was closed behind them before taking their hand back and placing their palm on the dragonoak again. They moved him around to give him a better purchase being held, and then finally decided to put him in one of their pockets, thankful for the wide openings. "Well, ya like bein' in the pocket, huh?" Morgan cooed at him. A while back, they would have been horrified at themself, but for now they didn't seem to mind. It wasn't like anyone was around here anyway to hear the human doing something so embarrassing. It wasn't really Morgan's fault that they found dragons adorable, and the baby ones even cuter. Like kittens, or something. That was perfectly normal, at least in the Labs City, Morgan figured. Say, were there any dragons beyond the continent anyway?

There was not a lot of information about other continents to be had in the Labs City, and seeing as they had books about nearly everything else in the world, Morgan was pretty sure that it was probably intentional. Information was power, and it would not be out of the question that people were being controlled by the lack of it. It also didn't help that people were not keen to talk about where they came from beyond this area. This was a good place to run away to after getting into some trouble, or to try to flee away from horrible situations. Morgan knew that, and it wasn't talked about often. Morgan was born here, so it was a little different for them. Morgan patted Gateau on the head crest as they began their trek, mostly going around the outside of the 'garden' that was in the middle of the Mansion's inner grounds.

Morgan had not done as much exploring this month at the mansion as they would like to have done. It was frustrating, but they had been even more busy this month than they had the last. At least they had gotten a lot of things done that they would not have otherwise been able to do... In fact they still had things to do. Morgan sighed, flipped their bangs out of their eyes with a flip of the head, and then looked down at Gateau. "Whatcha s-say little un? To the left? To the right?" Morgan asked even though little Gataeu had no idea what Morgan was saying. Ah, well, at least they were going to have some fun (hopefully) either way (Morgan was trying to think more positively as of late, but it wasn't working out all that well all things considered). The little dragon oak didn't seem to mind.

Morgan knew that Gataeu would never produce any acorns, but they didn't really mind either. They weren't really all that sure what brought that up. Perhaps it was looking worriedly into that big overgrown looking mess in front of them, scarcely could be called a garden really, while worrying their bottom lip a bit. "Wull, looks like we'll be hitting uh, to the left." Morgan decided, turning around to go in the indicated direction. Gataeu snorted a bit in Morgan's pocket, and Morgan was pretty glad that the creature was not a fire-breather like Muninn was. Morgan didn't really want a 'hot' pocket right now while they were trying to figure out how to get to the Mansion from the inner mansion grounds. They spent so much time all the time hanging around in the mansion grounds, but hardly ever got a chance to actually go inside the doors! That was probably a problem.

Morgan had felt a little sad lately that they hadn't been able to have as much time to do this, and it was even more of a problem now that Morgan was going left, not too fast (not running) but fairly quickly at the step (run-walk?) and just about spilling over every few seconds when a root managed to snag their boots. It was frustrating, of course, but it did not seem to be anything malevolent done by the mansion. Sometimes the mansion seemed to have a bit of a mind of it's own (of course it didn't really have a mind, probably just some kind of science-related and totally not magic... well, at least it was magic that wasn't understood by science yet) and it could be finicky. Sometimes the mansion was incredibly dangerous, and sometimes it was mostly benign. Morgan had their fingers crossed for benign today, they were running out of time quickly this month, and Gataeu was with them.

Morgan didn't really want Gataeu hurt, and they probably needed to be more careful when bringing new creatures out for the first time, but they had really wanted to both spend some time with the new little creature and go to the mansion. They didn't really have enough time to do both of them separately, so it was together or not at all on at least one of them. Morgan decided on the more economical option, especially since they didn't feel comfortable keeping a lot of creatures without spending some time with them at least. The human continued on, until finally the overgrown 'garden' in the middle of the mansion plot opened up a bit with a path leading into it. This was a bad idea, they knew that immediately, but they glanced down at Gataeu, and for some reason felt like it was going to be okay regardless of the dangers.

This particular human was not the most believing in luck, or fate, or destiny, or any of those other things that Morgan felt that folks used as a crutch to try to explain away the random things that just happened to people sometimes. Life was life, nothing was ever really 'plotted out' very far. Even the smallest things had the biggest consequences on down the line (butterfly effect, right?). Morgan had an inkling that it had more to do with the fact that humans and animals consumed (well, technically plants and other 'producers' as well) nutrients in some fashion and then spent however long maybe or maybe not having some sort of understanding of their existence before inevitably winking out quicker than the world's entire existence could even do one one-hundredth of a wink. Morgan didn't really have any kind of existential crises, honestly.
However, they trusted the feeling they got that everything was gonna be okay, looking down at the tiny Dragonoak.

The human went down the path, but kept their eyes open just in case something dangerous were to happen. They were always on edge out in the Mansion grounds, and today was certainly no different. The path was surprisingly clear of any debris, which Morgan would normally mark as a warning signal, but then again Morgan did realize that the mansion was a weird place that often just 'created' things. Morgan had noticed that in a while back when they were exploring during harvest season. Gataeu suddenly start a sneezing fit, and for a moment Morgan was concerned about the possibility of another perfumey-attack like the one that had occurred back in the beginning of the month when Morgan had brought Selene, but it would seem that poor Gataeu simply had gotten something in his nostrils, and that it was a natural sneeze. Morgan waited until he was done, and then kept on going along the path.

The path was long and straight, and whereas it had been a wide open and strangely cleared path of soft dirt before, rocks began to be embedded into the path (flat ones) here and there more and more until finally it had become it's own cobblestone path. It was much easier to walk on than the soft and somewhat wet dirt. The human continued to travel on and on over the cobblestone path. They weren't sure where they were going, for one it was mostly because they began to notice that the once-straight path was no longer going quite straight. Normally Morgan would have just turned around on such a path since it would have had been straight and lead back to where Morgan had come from, but it occurred to them that the mansion was not one to allow things to be that easy. The tiny dragonoak sneezes again after a little while. [58]

"Well g-goodness." Morgan said, looking down at him while continuing to follow the now-cobblestone path through the garden. "D'ya have allergies, littlun?" Morgan wondered allowed. Is that even possible? Morgan wasn't sure if it was a common thing, let alone a thing at all, for the plant creatures like this small dragonoak. The human kept going on anyway, noting that they were not having the same sort of symptoms so it wasn't, at the very least, something that the mansion was doing to both of them. It was possible that it was causing symptoms to only the dragonoak for some reason, but for now Morgan couldn't come to a conclusion at all. The click of their boots against the cobblestone path seemed to be... Louder now? The human wasn't sure at all why that was, but it began to sound like there was something hollow beneath them? How odd.

Morgan looked around for the source of the excellent acoustics for some time, and finally gave up. They ignored the strange clicking noise and went on their way, continuing going the direction that they had been going a bit before. After a little while, the human began noticing that they were seeing certain trees and rocks in the makeshift 'garden' like area that Morgan had seen before. They looked incredibly familiar at the very least, however they weren't sure about that. Morgan continued to pay more attention as they went on, and finally they noticed that they were very close to where they had started out near the gate. Morgan harrumphed and sighed; this was actually their last chance to be able to go out and check the area this year for February, so they weren't really expecting to end it off so soon. They picked up anything of interested and took Gataeu with them on the way out with a slight sigh.
