The human was never really sure if Kirbie just wasn't seeing what they were seeing, or if he was just not knowledgeable at all about the world, and just saw everything as being normal whether it was or not. This could be really screwing him up, Morgan thought. Still, they gave him a little wave off, trying to show that everything was normal, and then turned around. They pushed their glasses a little further up their nose and then took a good look around the room. At first Morgan thought it was dark, and dug around in their pocket for their flashlight. However, they soon realized that they could see, just at a low-light level. They couldn't tell where the lights were coming from, at first. They felt like they blanketed the area, but at a very low candela setting. The human took a step, and then it occurred to them to look up.

The ceiling looked like it didn't even exist. Maybe it didn't? However, Morgan knew that if there was really no ceiling, they would have been looking into a sun-setting sky. No, this had to be something else. The place looked like it had six stories, here. The human could see every single floor open up in the middle, with beautiful twisted metal banisters and a relatively modern look, all clean and white- though it was perhaps an offwhite- maybe ivory? They couldn't tell for sure due to the low lighting. However, beyond that it seemed to go all the way up to the moon and stars, or perhaps galaxies. However, it seemed very close, almost close enough to touch if Morgan could fly. They noticed their mouth was opened, and closed it promptly. Kirbie was also staring up at the stars, and this time, it seemed that he realized that it wasn't normal at all.

Other than this, there was a ton of interesting stuff in the room. However, on the ground level anyway (and there was no real way to get to the upper levels at all) it was all in large piles on all sides, only cleared in front of a few doors. Oh, that was going to be a problem- how would they choose? At least they would try to deal with that problem once they got there, and not all at once. For now, exploring the room by theirself was going to take about ten million forevers as far as Morgan was concerned. They might not be able to go forward at all! However, that gave Morgan an idea, a good idea in fact, even if that was mostly Morgan's opinion. "Hey Kirbie, h-how about we learn a new thing now? It's called searching." It was usually a little time waster thing they worked with tat-lung on, like a game.

Kirbie seemed excited enough, really. Morgan was slowly starting to be able to 'read' him a little better, but it was slow going. He had a strange personality in comparison to the other tat-lungs Morgan had been used to. He seemed to alternate between being interested in things going on around them, and more interested in Morgan than other things around him. Maybe it was just a weird quirk of being a baby? Then again, even Shigeru hadn't been like this as a baby, he was raised alone, as well. Morgan always tended to raise their tat-lung babies in pairs. They seemed to turn out easier that way.
"S-so, whenever I give you this signal-" Morgan raises their whistle to their lips and plays the tune they used for all tat-lungs "I want you to s-search around for something cool. N-normally I'd like you to bring it to me, too, but in this case just point to it, okay?" Morgan said.

Morgan wanted to make sure that Kirbie understood the signal. "Okay so is THIS the s-signal?" Morgan asked him, before playing a tune that was the incorrect one. The tat-lung gave a quick, 'no' in the tat-lung conveyance. Good, that was excellent! "Good job! What about this one?" They asked, before playing the right signal on the whistle. The tat-lung excitedly gave an affirmative in tat-lung conveyance. "G-great. Good, Kirbie, you did good." They probably didn't have to worry about that a lot when it came to tat-lungs at least. "Okay, so let's start. L-look around the room, and point at interesting things, okay?" Morgan explained. The Tat-lung looked ready, So Morgan gave the cue whistle for searching. Kirbie immediately spun around in the water of his tank, searching for anything of interest in the room. Everything seemed to interest him, but finally, he points at something.

Morgan walked over to check on whatever the thing was, carefully following the baby tat-lung's point to wherever the thing must be. They saw it once they got closer, it was indeed shiny and nearly hidden behind another object. The human stepped forward and moved the other item over, grabbing the shiny one. What was it about tats and shinies, huh? Of course, they were drawn to hoards of gemstones, it made sense. Of course Seimei hoarded books (and sometimes playing cards), and Ryuusei hoarded games. It was a little bit different for them, they guessed. They were weird dudes. "Here we are Kirbie. W-what is this, huh?" Morgan said, holding it out so that the tat-feesh could see what they were talking about. They looked at it together. It was another of those little coins! "G-good job, you found us a coin, didn't ya?" Morgan probably would not have seen it their own self.

Now for the repetition. They did this for some time, with Morgan pocketing each shiny item after they had collected it. There was all kinds of weird stuff hidden throughout the strange galaxy room. Morgan would never have guessed, it was quite odd all things considered to see a galaxy in a room, let alone find a bunch of stuff hidden in hoards of items throughout. Almost like a dragon's hoard, but much messier. Morgan would give out the cue using their whistle, and Kirbie would find something shiny. He was really good at it, and of course he had the cue down pat. Tat-lungs were smart like that, they hardly ever required annoying cue misshaps before getting it right. However, it took him some time to get really good at it, and of course immediately react to the command. However, Morgan was convinced that he was doing it properly by the time an hour had passed.

It didn't take long at all for the pair to finish up the search game, even with Kirbie having the limitations of being in the travel tank. However, that gave Morgan one more plan, and it was a good one. They had set up the travel tank to have three modes- 'Off, Laser, and Feesh'. The off and laser settings were pretty obvious, off would make it stationary, right now. Laser would make it use a laser to follow Morgan around. Feesh, on the other hand, was experimental, supposed to allow the tat-lung to move in the direction they wanted to go, and the tank would 'go' with it, once again using a laser to check on how fast the feesh was moving. The human wanted to teach Kirbie how to 'follow' using this function. "A-alright Kirbie, are you up for another lesson? I've got one more thing I know I want to show you."

Kirbie seemed fairly interested, but it looked like he might be getting a little tired. Hopefully he would be okay with this lesson, the last one of the day, and then maybe they'd leave the mansion for the day if the mansion would allow them. "Okay, w-we'll get started Kirbie. T-the last thing we'll work on today is for you to follow me." Morgan held their hand to show the hand signal for follow. "This is what we'll be using for you to follow me." Morgan explained. "In order to do that, just swim towards me, okay?" For now, Morgan was just going to walk in circles around the travel tank and get Kirbie to follow them. At first, this would be a great idea to get him to get the point. "N-now, let's start." Morgan communicated all of this in triplicate, so that Kirbie would understand that.

Kirbie gave a more confident affirmative this time. Follow was definitely not the most difficult thing for anything to learn, let alone a tat-lung. Kirbie was young, but already obviously going to pick it up incredibly quickly, seeing as all of Morgan's other tat-lung already did so as well. Kirbie was behind, but he was also the youngest so it wasn't too surprising. Morgan gave the signal, and then walked around the travel tank slowly. Kirbie followed relatively quickly, and then Morgan gave him the 'stay' command. He stopped. "Good job, Kirbie. You did great!" At this, Kirbie was given another feeder fish. He snapped it up happily, and Morgan flashed him a grin. "Alright- A-again." Morgan said. They repeated this process again, with Morgan giving the signal and then Kirbie following around carefully. It was actually somewhat peaceful to see, something simple while they were out exploring.

After a few more attempts at this basic following, Morgan tried to mix it up by giving other hand signals that were wrong. Kirbie caught on pretty well immediately, and never did anything when Morgan gave him a hand signal that wasn't correct. Whenever the correct one was given, Kirbie would follow Morgan around and around. Morgan was finally convinced that he got the basics. "Okay, Kirbie, let's try to get t-this finished up. Just a couple more attempts..." At this, Morgan went ahead and turned the function of the travel tank over to the 'follow the feesh' option, and then they gave Kirbie the cue to follow via the hand signal. Morgan then walked away, forward, instead of around the travel tank. Kirbie tried to follow, moving forward, and seemed shocked when the travel tank went forward along with his movements. "Good job, Kirbie!" The human said.

Morgan tossed Kirbie another feeder fish, and the tat-feesh looked quite pleased with himself. They human grinned, and then waited until he was done with the snack before they began working on the behavior again. It was always relatively easy with tat-lungs, with these simpler behaviors, and this one was no different. Morgan would give the signal that served as the cue for the following, and Kirbie would follow. He got quite good at getting the travel tank to follow Morgan around, just by swimming forward or towards Morgan wherever they were. Pleased as punch to see that their invention was also working, the human was happy to see how easily Kirbie had taken to the follow behavior. Morgan was finally convinced that he had gotten it, though they were also starting to get about as tired as he was. Morgan had a long day today!
Thankfully, Morgan was convinced that Kirbie had gotten the behavior, at least.

Now to figure out how to get out of here, Morgan thought, as they got finished with Kirbie's lesson. He'd learned a lot today, for a young tat-feesh, though they didn't dare try to teach him tolerance in this place. They'd probably take him out to the loch soon, and try to teach him the last few things he needed to learn before he got any more grown on them. Tats sure did grow fast! Morgan tilted their head slightly at him, regarding him with curiosity. He sure didn't look like he was going to grow up soon, but then again, did they ever? Tats seemed to grow in spurts. It was best to get the lessons done early and fast, to keep up with them. The human then turned around, and gazed up at the gorgeous swirling galaxy-like thing above. It couldn't really be real- but that looked like stardust and dreams to them.

Kirbie was staring at it, too. Morgan had started the day out not really being able to tell what he was looking at, with those too-glossy eyes that seemed unfocused at all times. However, he was indeed looking at it. Morgan had learned how to figure that out, over the day, and now it seemed obvious to them. It was amazing how spending a little time with somebody allowed one to read them just a tad better. No matter what the race or species of the individual! The human had a hard time tearing their eyes away from the galaxy once they put their gaze on it. The shiny stars swirled around in a huge whorl, perhaps like a whirlpool? They knew it wasn't a black hole, those didn't quite have the same array as this one. No, this one had to be fake. Of course they couldn't see space this close up.
