Of course, leave it to Morgan to be the kind of person to debate the realism of things they found in the mansion, of all places! The mansion was always a strange place- if it weren't for the fact that the human had found lots of loot that was real and could be brought home for study (and appeared to be the exact same substance-wise of items procured from without the mansion's grounds of a similar type) they would not have believed that anything that happened here was real at all; but here they were. They smiled and turned around. It was time to leave the mansion. Kirbie was tired, they were tired, it was getting late. Hopefully the mansion would be understanding at this time? They sure hoped so. "Alright Kirbie, let's go." The human knew that Kirbie would be able to follow them now that he'd been taught how to do so.

The mansion was relatively quiet this month, from what Morgan could see. They had seen crystals, and galaxies that stretched up from ceiling-less walls. They had even seen a creature that, at a stretch, could probably be referred to as a pseudo-dragon. That was pretty cool- perhaps if they had better abilities of dealing with difficulties the human would have done more exploring this month, as well. However, they tended to grow quite tired after days of work, so they weren't always able to come to the mansion during the month. The human passed the door further on into the mansion with a frown, and then moved over to the door that should lead to the long hall and out. Kirbie followed them at a relatively close clip, and the human wondered if perhaps they shouldn't have set the laser again, since Kirbie was so young and didn't have the best ability to judge things for himself.

However, with any amount of luck, this would simply give Kirbie more agency which was good for the maturation of a tat-lung, to say the least. He was much less likely to grow up with a vendetta, like Seimei, if he was given free reign. So Morgan simply found the door that would hopefully lead them out of this room in the mansion and towards the front of the mansion, and vaguely hoped that Kirbie wouldn't ram the machine into their back. Luckily for them, Kirbie was playful but he was also tired, and that ultimately kept him from causing any amount of trouble on the way out. The human reached for the door and turned the handle. It opened easily, and out into a rather regular looking hallway. The human regarded it with a sense of anxiety, and then stepped through, allowing Kirbie in after them without any issues at all.

Morgan was expecting the hallway to do the stretching trick that it had just earlier, but it seemed like it was not going to pull the same joke twice. Morgan didn't let their guard down, however. It was practically impossible for them to put their guard down in public, anyway. Something bad always happened in the past when they did, so they knew not to let the mansion catch them off guard now. The human glanced back, eyes cast over the tired tat-feesh as he moved towards Morgan by swimming in the tank and the tank moved forward. It was working, and it was working very well! They couldn't help but feel a wash of pride over them for their creation. It would make future outings with tat-feesh incredibly easy, as long as Morgan taught them to use it. They made it through the hallway without too any difficulty, and that set Morgan back on edge.

The front room had changed, because of course it did. The human wasn't really even shocked whenever the mansion did stuff like this anymore, but at least they could tell that the front room was still the front room and hadn't changed places or spun to a different spot in the mansion to trap them. The door to outside was just right there. Both of them could go through it so easily, but of course Morgan's curiosity got the better of them for possibly the last time that day. Kirbie looked at Morgan with a distinct emotional wave of incredulous rolling over the link that Morgan hadn't really noticed that they'd formed until that moment. Was it happening faster now? It always panicked them every single time that this happened. It stopped them short of going to check out the room, and they turned around to tilt their had at Kirbie inquisitively.

The human hefted a sigh, and then turned around to check the things on the walls that they had seen earlier but not quite had enough time to figure out what were. It was important to keep their priorities straight, and there was nothing one could do about the link solidifying, anyway. They knew how it worked, it was practically their birthright. The human placed their hands on the strange 'holes' they had found in the wall, not quite passing through them. They were apparently plugged with glass, or something clear, with an empty space behind them. The optical illusion was very strange- but that was before all the lights came on. Suddenly, the room filled with pale prismatic light, showing off that the holes, or rather windows perhaps- were shaped like dragons of all kinds. The human took a step back instinctively, whenever the bright lights filled the room. Kirbie, however, was mesmerized.

The young tat-feesh was beginning to understand that wherever they were, this place was not normal. For some reason, that thrilled him. He was so used to seeing the same things day in and day out that it was incredibly cool to him whenever he saw things that weren't. Some day, he decided, he was going to have a hoard of very unusual things! Of course, the first thing in his hoard that was unusual was the human. It was not an enjoyable fact that he was going to have to share the human with the other tat-lungs, but he could deal with it. His bright eyes reflected the light from the strange dragon markings on the wall. Was this what he would be someday? He couldn't imagine being able to fly like that. The lights cast across the walls and air around Morgan, like magical holograms, of dragons in flight.

Despite the display being 'cool', Morgan knew that there was nothing really to be had from here. It was merely a very cool optical illusion. It didn't stop them from trying to reach out and touch one of the dragons, however. Finally, the human turns around and decides- it's time to go. A quick search of the room was completed with anything of interest being thrown into Morgan's pockets for later checking. They'd hauled a goodly amount of loot this month, and probably wouldn't have time to come back before the end of the month. That was fine, they thought. The wheel of the year ever turned, and one day, they'd be back to check for more secrets. Something about the mansion made it so interesting no matter how many times Morgan went there. Kirbie followed Morgan out of the room sadly. He was really tired, but that light show had been SO COOL.

The bone was, in all honesty, a bit of a weakness of character and an oversight in judgement for the scientist. A gift to the young Impi in tribute to keep her clothing chewing abated had become a bit of an obsession for the young chick. The sarane hatching chewed the bone day in, and day out. Whenever she completely demolished one bone, she would cry for another until one was presented to her unceremoniously. The petite creature refused to let go of the bone in order to eat the prescribed sarane diet that Morgan had procured at high cost, and only when the bone was forcibly removed from her possession did she finally take the time to eat like a normal sarane hatchling would. The human was unsure how to remedy their mistake, but finally decides to just let it be. Especially since the bone could now be leveraged for the creature doing Morgan's bidding. The nature of using the bone for leverage was lost on the petite being. It was more than frustrating for her to have to follow after the prized object as Morgan lead her on a walk, or lead her out to the pen in which the sarane whelps were allowed to covert in a co-ed fashion during the daytime at their own leisure. Today, they were managing to lead her elsewhere using the typical 'withhold the bone' method, and Impi was in an especially foul mood. She disliked being lead away from her brother, Shida. Sure, he only held half of her blood from the smell of him, but he smelled of father as well, and she missed father, regardless of her rank. He was quite the good jungle gym! Impi was unsure where they were going, but it was quite the long trek. She could smell plenty of prey, along the way. [2]

Morgan was once again in the outer mansion grounds, and had been for a little while now. Impi was small, and though she moved with a swiftness that was quite surprising for her size, she had a small gait due to her diminutive nature at this stage in her life. Morgan knew that she would eventually be even larger than theirself, as was the way that sarane were undoubtedly genetically designed to do, and probably surprisingly larger due to her tier and the fact that Morgan planned to give her plenty of in-pit exercise, provided she took to that sort of lifestyle as she matured into the hen she would be. The thing that excited Morgan the most about the creature was the fact that she'd make an excellent future mount. The worst part was that she would require being broken, a shame. The human disliked breaking sarane, especially after the Waar incident. [3]

Morgan hadn't quite managed to explore the mansion this month yet due to prior concerns that preceded this one in importance. They had already began their interest in the mansion this year during this very month, and they had quite exhausted the interesting things that this month had to offer, or at least that was what they thought. The human hoped with a severity that they were wrong in this instance, as it would be preferable to simply repeating last year's adventure. This was, however, the first month that they would be able to ascertain whether or not it was possible for the mansion to change year after year, or if it was stuck in a perpetual wheel. Right now, Morgan was betting on the wheel theory. Impi was coming along handedly, her blue eyes focused so intently on the bone that she nearly tripped along the way, doubling their efforts entirely. [4]

After a small trek for the humanoid but a rather large journey for the hen, the human quickly glanced around to see if there was a suitable place in which to take a break and allow Impi to have her bone. They knew that as soon as they gave her the wretched thing that she would most likely stop paying attention to the human, and that was something that they weren't looking forward to. In fact, they also knew that it would be absolutely impossible to get the horrid object back, what with all of the spittle and of course the chick's surprisingly sturdy jaws practically locked around it. They were already quite exhausted simply considering it! However, it had to be done. The human was planning to train her, out here, to knock out two birds with one stone. The gate wasn't too far away, so the human decided upon that as their destination for the break. [5]
