Morgan needed to get this under control as soon as possible. The bespectacled human had cleared this day of all other work to get this done, because they were running out of time. The blond dragged the (hardly a) sarane chick on a metal collar and chain to the park, practically. Sure, it liked Morgan well enough right now, but the creature (hosting a decent sized set of horns already and being about knee height at the moment) was already dangerous and hot-headed. Waar was polite enough, if not excited about where they were going, already sort of testing his wings fruitlessly. This was going to be a nightmare, if Morgan didn't do this right now. The park was clear in the area that Morgan had chosen, scouted out particularly for this. Morgan brought small chicken legs as treats, the whistle, a glove for holding the treats of course, and the backpack as well. For now, they were going to start working on something quite important. Tolerance.

Morgan sat the training items on one table close by, including the treats, and then struggled slightly to keep the sarane from trying to go after them. After a stern pull, Morgan managed to tie the chain to a stake, for now. Until the creature began acting properly enough to be let off for now. Morgan was quite good at this, and was sure that they would be fine. Waar liked them, after all. Morgan stepped forward and put both hands, ungloved, on the young drake chick. The creature didn't mind that sort of thing; they were quite well acquainted with that. However, Whenever Morgan tried to move their hands down the creature's side and onto it's flank, there was a slight jerk in the hind leg on that side. Aha, that was some intolerance right there. Morgan bent down anyway, and touched the leg, holding it up a bit. Waar turned to the huamn and snarled, but did not bite.

Well, that was good at least. Not a bite so far, not that Morgan was expecting that so far. The creature seemed to be developing the psycho-social effect just fine, so it probably didn't really want to bite Morgan at this point. Morgan dropped the leg, and then gave the creature a good pat on the head, and a scratch under the chin. That was what Morgan had been using, in conjunction with sparse treating, to get the creature to not mess on the carpet and such things that normally naturally came with a creature gaining a bond with a humanoid. Morgan then moved up to the front leg, and went to lift it. Another growl, and this time a snap of the jaw. Morgan glared at the creature testily, with a deep 'tsk' noise. The sarane knew that noise. Then Morgan stared right into the creature's face as they slowly picked up the leg.

The sarane flashed fangs at the bespectacled human again, and Morgan just defiantly held the leg up, waiting until the sarane put it's fangs away for a moment. It was still young, so it still had the little lip that covered most of their fangs as chicks. Morgan knew that at some point, that lip would go away, and at about that time it would be time to get the drake broken. But where was Morgan going to get breaking gear? Immediately a certain jackalope entered their mind. The jackalope had done that before, right? That meant that he probably did have some sarane breaking gear, hopefully. Morgan put the leg down only after they were sure that they had 'won' and then moved to another leg. This one was met with minimal resistance, only a twitch. Morgan moved the leg as they pleased, and then put the leg down and moved to the back one. No resistance, this time at least.

Morgan had figured that the creature would take to this quite well. For one, they tended to take to this with their owners in general, whenever they hit a certain level of this psycho-social effect. However, now, the creature would probably accept this in general, but probably not that well during the breaking process. At the very least, Morgan hoped it may make breaking a bit easier. Morgan spent the next fifteen minutes lifting each leg and moving it any way that they wanted, and then running their hands along the underside of the creature. After a small amount of time Waar finally allowed Morgan to touch all of the creature's limbs and body parts, even the delicate wings, without any issues. There were a ton of things that they had to work on otherwise. As soon as Morgan was able to touch the creature's limbs, head, neck, and both wings, and the underbelly without any movement or inclination from the creature, Morgan gave Waar a single uncooked chicken leg as a treat.

The next thing that Morgan was going to train was 'No'. Morgan figured that after this training bit, that they might just be able to let him off of the chain a bit to get started on the 'stay' training that would hopefully get the creature to creature to be safe to have out in public for today, at least. He was growing like a little weed, the time bomb! Morgan shook their head, and then immediately began on the next step of the training. Morgan was sure that he was ripe and ready for all of this training, so they were not worried about it at all. Morgan grabbed one of the chicken legs in a gloved off hand, and used their on hand to grab the whistle. Then, they held the chicken leg up to where the sarane could strain a bit and get it. When he lunged, Morgan whistled a well-timed sharp quick whistle that frightened the sarane and made him startle back a bit.

Morgan noted that it was a good thing, and as soon as Waar moved back a bit, the creature seemed to flash some kind of understanding across it's eyes. It wasn't perfect, but Morgan could see it. Of course, the creature was already pretty decent with the psycho-social connection's version of 'no' where it already pretty much understood Morgan's body language about the subject, and it had already began to connect the noise with the body language. Morgan was anything if not skilled at noticing small things when it came to others. Morgan patted the sarane on the head, and then tossed the chicken leg to the creature. After a moment, Morgan returned with another chicken leg, to do the same thing. Morgan held the chicken leg up a little closer this time, and the sarane stared at it longingly for a long moment, a surprisingly long moment, before leaning out to gently try to grab it.

Morgan of course had been waiting for this, and immediately made a sharp whistle to tell the creature 'no'. The quick sharp whistle was once again quite distracting, and the creature moved back again in a recoil, this time a bit more controllable fashion. Morgan knew that this meant that the creature was at least taking to it quite well, and that it wouldn't be as hard to teach this one as they had previously thought it would. The bespectacled human then tossed the chicken leg to the creature again, and watched the creature as he chewed it, grinding it under the teeth. Morgan was quite pleased with the reaction of the creature. Perhaps Waar was a bit deeper into the psycho social connection than Morgan had previously anticipated? It wasn't really something that Morgan knew how to keep up with by numbers, but they could tell whenever a creature was acting a little more onto the scale than had been expected.

Morgan could practically see the metaphorical gears turning in the drake's head, and that was certainly a desired effect. Morgan went back to get another chicken leg, and when they returned, the creature was already sitting there alert, staring at the human and waiting patiently. Morgan had never seen a patient drake before; an excited one, yes, but not a patient one. Morgan held out the chicken leg to where the creature could lunge for it, and instead, he continued to sit there, staring at it quite well. Morgan pretended to 'accidentally' drop it, and once it hit the ground, as Morgan had expected, the drake attempted to lunge for it, all fangs and claws. Morgan whistled the 'no' command, and even though the creature had been expecting it and it was quite loud, and of course the chicken leg was just so easy to snatch up, the drake chuffed and then backed up, watching Morgan instead.

Ah, now that was an unexpected development in this experiment! Morgan had not been expecting the creature to actually heed the command at all, and instead had expected Waar to have reached forward and snapped up the tasty morsel without any thought. Morgan was a bit shocked, but also pleased. That certainly wasn't bad at all! Morgan would have to write that down later; Waar was apparently quite obedient and patient as well as the typical things that Morgan had written down about the animal. That was useful! Morgan waited a moment to make sure that it would hold before picking the chicken leg up again and handed it over to the drake, surprisingly without getting their arm taken off either. Morgan was pleased with that, and continued working with this 'no' command until Morgan was absolutely sure that it was going to stick. Eventually, Morgan was even putting it on the creature's nose without it snapping up to eat it, as long as Morgan whistled the no command while it was there.

The next part was going to be the difficult part; 'Stay'. Or at least Morgan thought it would be. There were no creatures around to get the animal to have it's prey instincts or anything, Morgan had been sure of that, but Morgan didn't know what the creature would try to do. However, it had to be done. For now, though, he would remain on the chain until Morgan was sure that he would do as they wanted at least somewhat. Morgan took a chicken leg yet again, and then held it near the creature. Then, Morgan backed up, but put their other hand up in a way that most people would normally assume meant 'stop'. This was going to be the stay command. The creature at first ignored this, and then tried to talk to the end of the chain, but Morgan did the 'no' command whistle and the creature stopped in it's tracks. Morgan emphasized their hand and then stepped back a bit.

Morgan saw the creature stare at their hand that was held flat and up, and it seemed to be realizing that this appeared to be another game, another of those 'noises' and stuff that meant to do something. At least that was how Morgan thought that creatures thought of things. Morgan then backed away, holding the uncooked chicken leg yet again and stepping back. The drake chick slightly jerked his muscles in excitement but did not move, most importantly. Morgan managed to keep this up for some time, and then tossed the uncooked chicken leg to the creature from apart from it, so that the creature could get it. Waar snapped it up without any issues at all, and Morgan marveled at the strength that the knee-high creature already had. Morgan figured that it shouldn't be too hard to work with this, and stepped forward, grabbing another of the uncooked chicken legs on the way there.

Morgan held one the chicken legs up real close to the creature's face again. Because of the previous start to the training, the creature didn't try to take it, perhaps from taking social cues from Morgan's body, as per usual. However, Morgan put their hand up flat in the 'stop' signal, putting it to the end of the creature's nose, and then began to back up with the chicken wing. The creature did not at all move to try to get at the chicken leg, and instead stood there quite the same as it did earlier. He was catching on super quickly, and that was perfect! Morgan finally backed up really far away, and then tossed the creature the chicken leg, which was caught quite quickly if a little messily, being snapped up by the black sarane chick nearly immediately. Morgan knew that the time was come to let it off of the chain, not that he had been on it very long at all.

Morgan walked up to the creature with no chicken legs this time, so that there were no accidents done at all. The bespectacled human walked right up to the creature and undone the chain, leaving the heavy metal collar on for now. The creature was still interested in their hand since it still smelled a bit like chicken, but it licked instead of trying to chomp. Well, that was good. The only good thing about having a tier 3 drake is that you knew that despite the added aggression, the entire line was domesticated enough at least. Morgan gently patted the creature, and let the chain drop to the ground. Morgan then held up their hand in the 'stay' signal and stepped over to the bag of chicken legs. Whenever Morgan turned around with a chicken leg in hand, the creature was still in the place it was left, standing and watching rapt, waiting. That was awesome!
