Buying: Creepingwither Trick Serpent (500) Dragon Oak (450) Total: 950
Leafy had once again picked up gardening. With that in mind, she needed some new garden pets. Well more like wanted, but the difference didn’t matter much. The shop itself was one of the cleaner looking ones. When she pushed the door open, her nose was immediately filled with the scent of cookies. A rather odd smell for any shop that wasn’t a bakery, but she wasn’t about to complain. She glanced around the shop, noting that none of the creatures were kept in the front room. The shopkeeper appeared friendly enough on first glance and it served to put Leafy at ease.
“Hello, I’m here to purchase a Trick Serpant and a Dragon Oak,” she said.
The two pets would make a fine addition to her garden. She knew that they would work well to take care of her garden. She was always in need of something that could manage the darned thing.
Alura had been pulling some cookies out of the oven when the customer came in. She quietly put them down on the cooling rack, and then turned towards the voice, grinning. "Hello! I do happen to have one last creepingwither available, and two Dragonoaks right now." She smiled softly. The spring was a very popular time for gardeners to pick up new plants for their garden, it seemed! "Is that all you would like today, sweetie?"
“Sounds perfect! The Creepingwither is the colour I wanted anyways,” Leafy grinned.
The smell of cookies was tempting and Leafy had worked up an appetite with all of her gardening. Besides, they were freshly baked! She was quite certain that nothing in existence had ever smelled better.
“Yeah that’s all I need today,” she contemplated for a moment. “Actually, may I please have a cookie as well? They smell extremely delicious!”
She was certain she was drooling by now. It might have been extremely embarrassing to anyone that wasn’t Leafy. She wasn’t the type to get particularly worried about things like that.
“Then maybe you could take me to see the creatures?” she suggested.
Leafy was very curious as to what the rest of the shop looked like. She wanted to see how the plant creatures lived in the store. From what she remembered, they weren’t kept in cages at all.
"Sure sweetie." Alura smiled heartily, and quickly placed two of the recently removed cookies into a paper bag that was situated to hold both without them sticking together. She handed them over as she beaconed for the for the young individual to follow her towards the back. "We keep them back here. Remember that the trick serpents make a poisonous berry, and they take skilled hands to harvest." She wanted to make sure that everyone was able to receive the best information for their gardens. "Dragon Oaks have a bit of fire to them, so be careful and make sure that they don't accidentally bite anything." Not a whole lot of fire, being so small and all, but it was still enough to damage a garden if they were allowed to run amok. "Here we are." She said, opening the door and showing off the room of plants. "To the right are the dragon oaks, and to the left is the trick serpent."
“Thank you!” Leafy beamed as she was handed the cookies.
It took all she had to not rip into the bag and eat them right away, but she knew that would be rude. Besides, she really wanted to go see the room where the creatures were kept. The shopkeeper explained the various nuances about the pets she was about to buy. Leafy was grateful for the information. Alura led her into the room and Leafy took a moment to look around. The Trick Serpent was easy to spot. The orange colouring made it stand out in the room of brown and green. The fact that it was poisonous didn’t alarm her. After all, she had many pets that could do a lot worse than poison. And a poisonous berry in particular was easy enough to not eat.
“Hi there!” she greeted the Trick Serpent as it looked in her direction. She turned back to Alura. “Which Dragon Oaks can I buy?”
Alura sure did like every customer that walked through her door and showed respect, and she especially liked those that kept a garden. "I hope you enjoy them!" She loved baking for people, after all. "Either of those two are fine, but it won't show the true colors* until you get the one you want home. They do quite well in a garden. This is the small variety, the only variety I keep in stock. I call them 'Fluttering Dragonoaks'." She was quite proud of them, it was easy to tell in her voice. They did look quite healthy!
(*Note that Fluttering Dragonoaks have one of three Random Colorations upon delivery)

Leafy considered each of the Dragon Oaks before picking the one she wanted. She pointed to the one on the left.
“That’s the one I want!” she exclaimed. “It’s interesting that they don’t show their true colours in the store. It’s almost like a secret. Can you help me take these two to the front of the shop so that I can pay for them?”
Leafy took one last look around the room. She felt a little bad taking the creatures away from the only home they had ever known. She hoped they liked the garden they would be going to. She had quite a few garden pets. She thought they would fit in just fine. She was especially excited to see if she could harvest them in the future. She had never harvested any of her creatures before, it would be an entirely new experience for her to try.
Alura smiled widely at that. "Grand, that one will make a fine addition to your garden!" Really either one would have, for different reasons, but she really thought that this one would fit the customer well. "Certainly!" She said. Her old bones were not what they were used to, but she had a way with plants like no other. Under her ministrations, she was able to get the creatures brought to the front quite civil-like, and in a way that they would be relatively easy to take home. "If these two lovelies are all you would like today, your total is 950 credits." Her kindly old voice was quite strong it seemed, she was proud of her work and proud of her stock.
“Sounds good to me!” Leafy smiled politely. “Let me get those credits ready for you.”
A younger, stupider Leafy perhaps would have tried to haggle. She wasn’t about to try that again anytime soon. For now, she would suck it up and pay the regular price for the creatures. She pulled out a money pouch and began to count the credits out of it.
“And that’s 950 credits ready to go,” she said as she finished counting them out.
She held the bag of cookies tightly in her grasp. She was excited to eat those as well. Almost as excited as she was to get her new creatures. She also anticipated what colour the Dragon Oak would turn out to be. She hadn’t really seen a Dragon Oak before, so she didn’t know what colours they could be. Most of her garden pets were fairly normal colours. She couldn’t wait to see what this one would become.
Alura smiled, and took the credits of course. She pocketed them into her apron and grinned at the customer. "Thank you dearie, do come back. I always have cookies baking!" Well, baking or freshly on the rack, of course. She focused now more on the rest of their baking, a pie she was getting ready to make. She carefully washed her hands and began cutting the slits in the top, so that it would bake perfectly. If there were two things Alura enjoyed the most, it was baking and herbology!
Morgan: No one knows yet. But I did want to make it clear that the jar itself isn't used for lotine husbandry in any way. c:

Twilight-Claw: I'm only assuming that it does something similar like a Fungal Beast that infects a Leaf-scatter. (the one with moss and I think it was a pink flower growing on the head.)

Silver: I'll try it soon and we'll find out!

Silver: I don't think anyone knows yet!

Darky: What did the 'infection' do again?
Jun 5, 2020 4:14:43 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for this information, its really useful to know! <3
Jun 5, 2020 4:14:30 GMT -6
Morgan: The lolatic doesn't disappear after one use, and can be reused on the same lotine when it is allowed to 'infect' a lotine- to my knowledge.
Jun 5, 2020 1:41:37 GMT -6
Morgan: The only effect/thing that the jar can be used for is to open up into a lolatic. The jar itself has no use in lotine breedings.
Jun 5, 2020 1:39:52 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: and the jar is then gone, if with the creature I am more guessing with this the creature doesn't disappear and it has unlimited use.
Jun 5, 2020 0:17:55 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Something else I am wondering about with the Lotine breeding is whether one would use the jar the Lolatic comes from in the breeding, or actually the creature itself. I'm assuming with it if its the jar, then it gives people only one shot in a breeding,
Jun 5, 2020 0:16:08 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Then using it in my rps is definitely just for the sake of rp's and not for anything additional.
Jun 5, 2020 0:12:17 GMT -6
Renathan: Fish are unlimited use once bought though. c:
Jun 4, 2020 22:31:17 GMT -6
Renathan: There's no additional effect for adding a fish to a magical berry in a lotine breeding. Magical Berry is kinda it's own thing. Adding a fish for roleplay value shouldn't hurt, but it has no effect when used on a magical berry lotine breeding.
Jun 4, 2020 22:27:14 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: be just for the sake of rp, and perhaps seeing if it might lent a bigger chance to multiple offspring with unique pattern. X3
Jun 4, 2020 15:31:01 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: I think your right on it being unlimited use yeah, although.. *cough* I only found out a couple hours after I started writing that I had yet to buy the fish in question so used the one you could get for free as a replacement, it still was meant to mostly
Jun 4, 2020 15:30:59 GMT -6
Riku: From what I loosely understand about the fish is that it isn't one-use, whereas the berry is. I feel like there wouldn't be any consequence of 'using' the fish...which I'd think just ooc wouldn't be counted for whatever rolls or whatever it is that it uses
Jun 3, 2020 14:14:30 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for that piece of info Ren! <3 | But would it be allowed for the flavor of the rp if the berry wasn't filling enough for the Lotine?
Jun 1, 2020 6:09:21 GMT -6
Renathan: There is no need to double up on a fish and a magical berry (doesn't change the effect of the berry at all) in a lotine breeding.
Jun 1, 2020 6:02:21 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Does anyone know if it is possible to combine both a magical berry and a fish in a Lotine breeding? Or is you can only choose one of them? (right now writing a Lotine breeding)

Twilight-Claw: I am still interested in trading it for a green drake.
