Renathan could see the mist dissipate; and was a bit surprised to see the gug still standing. The stallion was still standing too; way further gone than what Renathan had seen before with a creature, to be honest. It was scary, the entire thing had been terrifying. He had no idea what to think about it; but something in him knew that they had to do something sooner rather than later. He realized quite quickly that the thundergug had dashed... How; how could such a huge creature actually run like that? It made no sense, he didn't really even want to think about it. In all honesty, it made no sense. He thought only lithe creatures should be able to do something that nimble. Sometimes, it wasn't fair that some species did so much better than others. It made him... Mad. Renathan called out a shrill whistle; the command for Dash. Two could play at this game; and Renathan was sure that Shy Guy could outlast a poisoned creature. The equillion takes off running; as if he had wings, showing off to the crowd.

The mist began to disappear, and the Thundergug and Equillion both became visible once again. Sandy had managed to evade her attacker, but she was exhausted. The poison continued to eat away at her, and there was a good chance she wasn't going to last much longer. Sandy stopped running, standing in place. She began to breath heavily, and she started to feel herself drift in and out of consciousness.
Alright, so now what should we do?
The Equillion began dashing around as Sandy had done before, and Amelia realized an attack again would be pointless, there was little she could do to catch the moving equine. He was still weak, but it was evident that Sandy was a lot closer to fainting.
I don't think I can do anymore. I'm tired. I can't outrun this creature, and I know what he's trying to do. He's waiting for the poison to overpower me, and I can feel it happening.
Amelia didn't say anything, instead taking a moment to think. There was little strategy she could utilize that would help Sandy win this thing. Maybe it was good to just let the pit crew come and heal her sooner rather than later?
How are you feeling?
I can feel myself drifting in and out, I don't think I can make another attack. I could run again, but what's the point
Okay, then rest. It's okay if we don't win. I'm okay with that. We've learned a lot this battle, and we can take that to our next battle and see how it goes.
The Thundergug seemed content with this, and Amelia could feel the relief from the pressure that the 'gug was experiencing. Having an emotional bond with a creature was always an interesting concept. Sandy went to the other side of the arena and let herself lay down against the wall. Amelia was directly above her, and she felt good knowing her best friend was so close. Typically she would faint quickly from an attack, but this poison was creeping up on her. Amelia wished she could rush down, but she didn't want to break any rules that would make them forfeit, not after how long they had stuck it out.
I can feel the poison overwhelming me. Promise you'll be there when I wake up?
You know it.
I love you.
I love you too.
Sandy closed her eyes, and stopped fighting the poison. The pit crew would have an antidote, and she would wake up feeling recharged and ready for another battle. She breathed slowly, as the Equillion was busy on the other side, drawing attention from the crowd. That was okay, she was never much of a showgirl. She felt the fuzzy feeling take over her mind, and it felt just like slipping away into a much needed rest. The pain subsided, and the Thundergug slipped into unconsciousness, feeling the love from the mammalian the entire time.
A tear ran down the mammalian's face. She had lost many battles, but to watch her best friend slowly get weaker was hard to witness. She fell into the stands, wiping the tears away from her eyes. She heard the loud sounds of the pit crew, as they would work hard to revive her unconscious pet, quickly curing her of the poison. Eventually she would be allowed to go see her best friend, and, as promised, she would be there when she woke up.
