Please note... - The last date to post your introduction post is the 23rd of May. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 3 days to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 3 day deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

Well. The Pit again, huh.
It was funny. One of the few things that got Aster into the city limits anymore was the prospect of a fight. The casual observer might have declared him a sadist on these grounds.
That wasn't exactly it, but it did make him curious. Maybe he had been imagining it, but it felt as though it had been a long time since there had been an event at the Pit that wasn't Sarane-focused. He had always been fairly confident in how well-defended he and his own might be from an attack from outside, but, well... it was always better to be sure. And these tournaments were good for reconnaissance, if nothing else.
Grunty was the one who had come with him, rather than Avander. Neither were strangers to fighting, and neither had the pride of Albion, whose spirits might have been broken or thrown off by a loss; but all things equal, Grunty could take a couple of hits, and if the point was to find out what everyone could do, that was better than Avander, who might be brought down immediately by a powerful foe.
Aster had been to enough of these things to know how it happened. A lot of fights were settled with just one hit.
"You ready?" he said to Grunty.
Mmm. I'll get something tasty after this, Grunty replied. Aster couldn't help but laugh at that; figures that was all he was thinking about.
"That you will. Alright, break a leg out there." With any luck, it would be the other creature's, and not Grunty's own.

She wasn’t sure again how long it has been since she has last entered a tournament with Rayak, surely before the Drake fights gained popularity for a while, but its been ages ever since. Going through the hallway to reach the sand pit. She is started to see that with the doors already open at their side, that their opponent has arrived first, she bit her lip lightly at seeing a large Thundergug of an unfamiliar breed lumber about their owner. Glancing at her side she sees that Rayak is tense for the upcoming fight, his tail tip twitching to and fro, but other then that he doesn’t give much of a physical reaction to what is going to come soon. ‘You ready for this Rayak?’ She says to him through the ribbon as they continue to walk closer to the pit. ‘I’ll have to be.’ She hears him mutter back to her in a determent tone, growling lightly as his ears are flattened.
When they finally get to step inside the pit, she gave a quick command to wait, making him stop for a moment, just long enough to remove his bracelet, tie the necklace of everlasting life around his neck carefully so that it wouldn’t slip off his neck so easily in the fight, and tightened his headband just slightly. Testing it to make certain that wouldn’t get off his head all too fast either. ‘Alright, now your ready. Goodluck Rayak.’ She scratches him under the chin, hearing him purr in a nervous pitch from the whole situation he is in till she stopped. Making him eye her curiously as she started walking to their opponents. “Good morning!” She says with false cheer, eyeing the Thundergug for a moment before facing its owner. Having grown used to Saar’s size and similar build, though she couldn’t say what this one’s temperament might be when compared to the two. Sticking out her hand, she wonders if he will shake it. “May the best win?” She tries, not certain how competitive he might be with this. This must be looking like a joke to him, she couldn’t help but think, as the size difference is very much there.

Notes
- Grunty can use all moves and abilities he knows
- Rayak cannot use Climb, Stalk, Hydro Jet, Dig, or Burrow as there is nothing to climb, nothing to hide in, no water, and only a thin layer of sand in the Pit
- Rayak is under the influence of Grunty's Intimidation and has 4 Strength and 4 Dexterity for the remainder of the battle

"... Huh."
Aster couldn't quite stifle a small murmur of surprise as he watched their opponents walk in. There was something about all this that was very... familiar. He was sure he'd seen that Mosca before, and maybe the person too. Well, no; he had almost certainly seen the person before too; it wasn't as though he would just encounter an unaccompanied Mosca anywhere. It was just that he tended to pay less attention to people, if he could help it, than their creatures.
What is it? said Grunty. The Thundergug saw no cause for alarm, or even for surprise. As far as he was concerned, the foe was much smaller than him, and therefore easily flattened. This was as far as his thoughts went in assessing danger, which was... not exactly ideal, but then, Aster had never expected Grunty to be much of a strategist.
"Don't worry about it," Aster murmured, before he was faced with another surprise.
Oh, right. He had forgotten about this part. Some of the other competitors preferred to do the whole song and dance of social niceties before their creatures beat each other to a pulp.
He looked at the offered hand and grimaced. "Right," he said. His distaste wasn't so much for her creature as it was for the prospect of having to chat, but whatever got her out of his space faster.
Now that they were both here, the fight was due to begin. Make some noise. Who knows, maybe we'll see an opening if you can spook it, Aster instructed.

type, and retreated her hand. Turning to Rayak for a moment and seeing him stare nervously at the Thundergug, for all that she had trained him, she still hasn’t trained the bouts of nervousness from certain opponents out of his system yet. ‘Right, Rayak.’ She says to him, making him turn if just for a moment his focus on her. ‘I can only ask to do your best, but please, don’t make any unnecessary risks if you feel like something else will work better then that I ask of you.’ She is going to give him free reign in choosing what he wants to do, should he opt to take a different approach if it feels like a better one. ‘I do tend to asses the risks as fast as possible if I can.’ One ear twitched in her direction before he faces the Thundergug again, she grimaces. The odds where very much against them today, something she loathes when it comes to Rayak. “Pleasant day I guess,” She mutters to the owner of the Thundergug, and starts walking to the bleachers, opening the small gate and taking a seat with the best view on the fight. Perhaps they should first begin with something fast? Avoid whatever they throw at them, and evaluate their speed first? ‘Alright, Rayak use fly.’ She says, hoping the air will offer him the safety he needs away from this being.

Grunty uses Thunder, causing Rayak to skip his turn. Since Thunder is a sound based attack, Rayak's Danger Sense does not activate.

Aster's posture only relaxed when the other person withdrew, and he wandered away to an even less populated area of the stands. He observed the fight, but it was already starting to leave a bad taste in his mouth. The Mosca seemed daunted by Grunty's presence, which was never a good sign.
Grunty lifted one foot off the ground after coming down hard on the arena floor to produce his species's signature thundering boom. Aster knew that Grunty was waiting for another signal. He deliberated for a moment; finesse and restraint weren't really words in Grunty's vocabulary, but... Aster wasn't in the business of making this any more gruesome than it had to be now.
Bash it, Aster instructed. He didn't bother with trying to ask Grunty to go easy on his opponent, since that kind of instruction would only have confused the Thundergug. So long as it was a clean hit, it would do... probably.

Rayak hates the fact that loud noises still freeze his muscles into place, even when he can see what technique his opponent uses, its still unavoidable to him. The only thing he could be glad about is that while he had only time enough to summon his wings, he hadn’t jumped in the air yet, that at least is in his favor. As not being able to land on the ground correctly is painful. Flattening his ears, he hisses at his opponent. Even if the size of this beast intimidates him, that doesn’t mean he won’t give up. “Rayak use dash!” He hears Twilight say, and he knows why as the beast starts to run right at him. Growling he keeps his wings folded tightly as he starts to run, hopefully dodging whatever that beast intends to do to him. He can see easily this will be the right decision for now.

Grunty swung his head back and forth in a gesture of frustration, put off by the fact that his attack hadn't connected. He wasn't vindictive or much of a fighter by nature, but he disliked anything that dragged on longer than he hoped, and was impatient for this to end so he could return home and have his reward. Slippery, he said unhappily.
"Mm," said Aster. For his own part, he found the proceedings more interesting. "Well, let's try something else then." You remember what we learned before? with the fire?
Good. I burned the white one, I'll burn this one too. Grunty seemed to like the idea. Maybe Aster ought to rescind his assessment that Grunty wasn't a sadist after all.
Hey, don't be hasty. Maybe it'll have another nasty surprise for you. Remember how tired the big breath makes you? Let's just use the smaller one for now. It seemed like they were due for some surprises, at any rate. Besides, Grunty had time to play a little more.

The sand behind him might have sprayed in the air while he ran as fast as possible away from the large beast, trying to dodge as best as possible the attack that could have come to him. ‘Was he trying to charge at me?’ He sends the thought back towards Twilight while keeping his eyes on his opponent, snarling while stayed crouched low. Ears flattened, and tail tip nervously twitching, he waits for what might be coming next. He hasn’t fought often enough against this kind to know for certain what they are capable of. ‘He might have, it certainly looked like he was trying. Your Dash at least was faster then that.’ He growls lightly in agreement at that, one ear flicking in the direction he vaguely knows she’s at. ‘Want to try for fly again?’ He hears her say nervously, making him wrinkle his nose at that. ‘No, that won’t do any good right now.’ He disagrees, and when he sees the beast is ready to try something against him again. He flashes his fangs in a snarl, and starts to run once more, only this time a little differently.

Rayak hisses in pain when the fire caught ahold of him, burning him, and leaving singed fur behind. But he can’t allow himself to focus on it, he has to focus. He continues running at his opponent despites the pain, and tries to bash the large beast. Yet somehow, just when he thought his attack would connect, he misses and keeps running straight at the bleachers. ‘Rayak, are you alright?’ He hisses at those words. ‘No, but I will be as soon as all this is over. I’ll try the same thing again, it is more likely that he’ll miss, then that I would do a second time.’ For that is the truth. Turning himself away from them before he might hit the planks instead, he continues running, if he stops now the pain of being burned will just distract him more. Growling loudly in challenge at the beast, he starts to run again at his foe. HE might have missed once, but he doesn’t plan to have that happen to him a second time!

Aster had been hoping to see some interesting results if they couldn't finish the battle quickly, and as far as that went, at least, he wasn't disappointed. The Mosca, having dodged the first strike, was now attempting to run straight at Grunty. It wasn't that Aster didn't understand what they were trying to do, but seeing it play out--- such a small creature against the great bulk of the Thundergug--- was pretty mismatched.
Grunty didn't flinch. He stood solidly, stance wide to meet the oncoming charge, and loosed his flames as the foe drew close, before sidestepping the charge at the last second. It was an odd thing, seeing him move so nimbly, but it had been the product of a great deal of training to achieve that.
Good, Aster said. Let's try the bash again but this time let it come to you. That seemed to work well enough, though there was the possibility that the Mosca would dodge again. But they had hit once; they would surely be able to land a second blow eventually.
