Renathan had been quite pleased with the breeding that had been done last time, just a few days previously, and he was already bringing Shadie back, this time with a new female. Renathan had borrowed the female, an antlered one by the name of Stagita, from Jack, and Jack had also provided the berries. Renathan felt a bit nervous about the breeding still, if only because he was still unsure if Shadie would be cooperative this go around. Shadie was always a bit territorial and odd with other pachee. Renathan had a plan this go around; he was planning on leaving Shadie in his carrier for a while until the female got her scent (if pachee even had scent) around everywhere, so that Shadie could worry about breeding the female instead of being worried about winning new territory. He figured that this may cause less stress in the breeding, at the very least. Renathan was walking to the breeding center, one carrier in each arm, when suddenly someone brush past him with two carriers of their own; nearly forcing him to drop Shadie's carrier! Renathan struggled to keep it in his hand, nearly fumbling it, but was just barely able to keep it in the right spot.

Renathan turned to see where the child went, since he now had Shadie's carrier carefully in hand. There was no indication of there ever having been anyone, and Renathan hadn't heard the door closing or opening or anything at all like that. Renathan looked puzzled behind his mask, cautiously. He had no idea what that even was, and he -knew- he had saw someone out there, a child, with two carriers as well. Human, or maybe humanish. Renathan had no idea where they could have went though! Still, Renathan suddenly grew quite worried about Shadie now that he had no idea where the individual was. The russet mammalian looked down to the carrier that held Shadie and worriedly looked down into it. His chocolate colored eyes peered out from inside of the carrier, where he was obviously shaken. Renathan cooed a bit, gently sticking a finger into the bars, trying to get the creature to be less scared. That kid had frightening Shadie quite a bit, and he was already a nervous boy! Renathan was quite worried; would this effect his performance of a breeder in a short amount of time? Renathan sure hoped not! He'd really been wanting to produce pachee babies today, after all.

Renathan still wished that he had seen where the kid went, however, because he was quite mad. How dare that kid just run into them like that? He could have hurt Shadie or Stagita! Luckily, Stagita was on the opposite side. Renathan knew that female pachee were super picky about the time and place, and mates that they choose, and Renathan just knew that if it had been Stagita that had been moved like that, that the breeding would have had to have commenced a different day, sadly. Renathan opened the door to the breeding center, and walked up to the counter, sitting his pachee down for a moment in their carriers in order to fill out the required forms. Renathan looked around whenever he got done, wondering if he would see that rude kid anywhere around here? Perhaps luckily, Renathan did not see the kid anywhere, which was odd. Surely if he was carrying carriers, the kid would be coming here, right? Well, Renathan still had to do this breeding, even if he really did want to give the kid a piece of his mind. Instead, he shook his head, and picked up his carriers for the pachee he'd brought.

Renathan was told to go to room three, and he did so, both of the pachee tucked under his arms. There were already things that he was going to be nervous about, today, when it came to the pachee breeding (namely Shadie's personality) and now he was afraid that Shadie was going to refuse to perform today at all. That was worrisome! Renathan entered the room and sat both of the carriers on the ground carefully, and then closed the door to the sterile room. The russet mammalian squatted down and looked at the carriers, finally opening the one that held Stagita. Instead of removing her and possibly causing any kind of additional stress to her, Renathan stepped back and sat down a little ways away in one of the chairs, knowing that she would come out whenever she was ready. Shadie was still closed in his container, and Renathan was sure that he was going to stay that way until Stagita seemed to be comfortable outside of the carriers. That was the idea, anyway. Renathan was still hoping that Shadie would perform today, after all, and he probably wouldn't be able to take any more stress today and this still wind up fine.

Renathan really loved Shadie's colors, but his personality made things so hard! Renathan was a bit sad that he seemed to have some kind of personality flaw, so much like himself, that caused issues for keeping him in the garden with the others. Renathan was hoping that the poor insecure creature would finally gain enough sense of self to be able to play nice with the other pachee soon. Renathan hoped that he was not breeding his strange personality flaws into his babies, somehow. Surely that kind of thing wasn't genetic, right? He was sure that Jack would tell him, if any of hers had exhibited this issue. Renathan waited for a while, staring down at the carries, hoping that the female would exit her carrier soon, when the female finally stepped out of her carrier; antlers first, curiously sniffing around. She was quite beautiful, now that he got a good look at her. She was brown, with some kind of brindle striping that was just absolutely gorgeous; and of course green leaves, that were strangely white tipped. Renathan watched her as she casted her bright purple gaze around the sterile room. There really wasn't anything interested in here, unlike the orbaru playrooms...

Renathan was very pleased to see the female come out of the carrier, so he walked up and closed the carrier. He didn't want her to go back inside for any reason, not until the breeding was done. Pachee breedings were a lot easier than orbaru breedings, he noticed, and he was glad for it. He wasn't sure if he was ready to do orbaru breedings again yet, even if the females mysteriously began producing kits again. Now that was worrisome, Renathan still had no idea what had caused the orbaru to become sterile. He'd never really known orbaru way back in the day, so it was just shocking to him. He had only been here a couple of years by this point, at all. Renathan had first began here by doing orbaru breedings, anyway, so he was used to the Breeding Center, at least. Stagita wondered around the room for a bit, rubbing her leaves all over the walls, before settling down beside Shadie's crate, appearing to look into it. Shadie on the other hand, made the entire crate jump a bit, and Renathan hoped that he was not trying to attack the female or something already, even though he couldn't reach her.

Stagita was keeping her forehead slit shut very tightly, so Renathan was sure that they were not ready to breed yet. However, Renathan did kind of feel like that since the female had probably gotten her scent all over the room now, that he may need to let Shadie out. Shadie would hopefully recognize this as her territory since it smelled like her, and in Renathan's experience, it was always important to introduce the male to the female's territory instead of the female to the males in most species. Renathan walked over to the male's crate, having lifted his body up carefully, and then Renathan unlatched the male's crate, allowing Shadie free roam into the world. Stagita seemed interested enough in him, sniffing in his direction and peering past the crate, but Shadie was much more cautious. Finally, Stagita backed off, perhaps having gotten a snoot full enough of him, and Shadie slowly, ever so slowly, began to come out. Judging by the weariness and wide-eyed look that he had in his chocolate eyes, Shadie was practically shell-shocked, shaken up earlier and also very worried about this new area. Renathan could almost have smacked his forehead, feeling a bit bad about expecting him to breed after all of that.

If Renathan felt bad though, then Stagita was impatient. She seemed to have decided already whether she was going to breed or not, but she wasn't about to open up for a male that wasn't going to release any pollen. Pachee were so odd, Renathan knew. He'd never seen a species that bred like this, or acted like this about it. He was sure that generally the males had to impress the females, but maybe because the females were well taken care of here in the labs, they seemed to be willing to choose the male whatever time of day. Renathan watched as Shadie walked around the area defensively, keeping an eye on the female but also seemingly a bit stressed. Renathan felt sad about this; if that darn kid hadn't bumped into them, then they would not be having this problem right now! Renathan was a bit grumpy about this, but he was beginning to feel a little better about the situation, seeing as Stagita looked like she was going to get her way no matter what it took. Renathan was glad that there were creatures in this world that seemed to know what they wanted, at least. To guide those like Shadie, and himself.

Poor Shadie was as lost as they come, but he was finally noticing the female; like really noticing her. The antlered female pachee was practically standing in such a way that reminded Renathan of people standing there impatiently with their hand on their hip. Renathan was sure that Shadie would stop acting up now; and really begin noticing that he was here to breed. Renathan had the two berries that he had been given in a pouch, and he knew that it was time to get them brought to the correct creatures. The feminity berries for the female, and the masculinity berry for the male. The masculinity berry was a single small red berry. Apparently this berry was to be used to get the male to pass down his colors more; so Renathan carefully presented this to the male. The female was given the multiple pink berries that would apparently make her produce at least one female. Stagita and Shadie both immediately began draining the nutrients from both of these with their little front paw tendrils. Those tendrils still creeped Renathan out; but he was beginning to grow more used to them. They were like roots, and they only sucked up nutrients; not people after all!

Soon, the berries were completely gone; absorbed by both of the pachee, each one with their respective berry. After this, Shadie seemed a lot less worried about everything, and turned toward the female. This time, he knew what to do, and Renathan felt a strange stab of pride for the poor little dude? This last time had been a bit of a nightmare where the poor creature had absolutely no idea how to perform! However, Shadie this time immediately pulled up to his sitting position on his back legs, not quite releasing any pollen yet. He fixed Stagita with a look, and she looked at him in a way that felt a bit snarky, as if she was saying 'finally, now?' Renathan chuckled; she was so expressive! Renathan finally saw Stagita open her little forehead slit, and then Shadie seemed to have a ton of fun, releasing so much pollen into the air that Renathan had a hard time not choking on it. Well, at least Shadie seemed to have done what he was supposed to! Stagita seemed to have no problem at all collecting pollen, it was like she had done this before. Renathan allowed them plenty of time to get done with the process before putting each one in their carrier, and leaving. He could hardly wait to see what this would be like!
