Crotalus is a pretty indifferent guy. If there's no personal motivation (such as food, personal injury, etc), then he doesn't have much motivation to do it. He isn't excessively curious, isn't unncessarily temperamental (considering he's a Wiurn, anyway). He does have a bit of a proud streak, though, and isn't submissive and isn't one to offer respect that hasn't been earned. This can make him ornery and challenging to work with, but once respect is established, he is obedient and loyal to a fault.

Blue is reckless and bold. He has a strong, flirty, boisterous personality and an inquisitive nature. Blue is easily distracted but not easily intimidated- though as a trade off, he is combative because of this. A note on his electrical body: A dry shock (out of water) feels equivalent to an outlet shock buzz to the average person/pet. In the water, this shock is negated to a shock from a balloon. To something with Electric Resistance, the dry shock would be similar to a balloon, and in the water would be a mild tingle. Touching Blue at ALL times can cause a shock, but he can make it stronger at wish for brief periods of time on contact.

Sloan is sweet-tempered, if not a bit flighty and nervous. She is almost mellow, in fact, and will readily nuzzle up to a stranger after she's comfortable with them. Zyler was originally created for a wealthy, upper class family to be a sentient and highly intelligent companion. Unfortunately. something didn't go quite right in the building process- an inattentive scientist, a gene mutation, who knows- and the perfect talking creature was never created. Well, he was... but the 'horrid defect' of his wall-eye and his tongue ruined what he had been created for. Being that he was created as sentient and intelligent, there were moral objections to euthanizing him, and his family somewhat grudgingly took him home. Ah, but outward defects weren't all that ruined his planned upbringing. Zyler had a heart defect- a hole in a valve, perhaps- that caused an irregular heartbeat. As such it was warned that he should not be extremely active, or participate in strenuous activities, as most young pups should. Bound to the sidelines much of his youth, he grew highly attentive, and his keen observation skills made it rather easy for him to read others in an unnerving manner. When he "grew into" his heart and it was no longer a threat (though it remains irregular), the hopes of normal social interaction had long since died; a sociopathic delight in manipulating others had formed. Shunned by owners who mere tolerated him, and isolated as no pack creature should be, something- if it was ever good to begin with- went "bad" with his wiring. An OCD-esque behavior slowly developed over the years that caused him to grow unreasonably irritated with rhythmic noises. It would be a fair assumption that his irregular heart had something to do with this, at least in part, but that would be something to ask him. Regardless, noises like steady breathing, drip-dropping faucets, heartbeats, etc, drive him somewhat mad with a desire to make the noise stop. He started out killing small animals, like frogs, rodents, cats; it initially soothed the compulsion but grew into a joy of his- a game. What sort of noise will they make if I kill them like this? he'd wonder. Like a moth to a flame, Zyler is drawn to see the deflation of things when they pass, the dullness as the light leaves their eyes... Zyler is especially infamous for his necrophilia- occasionally he may rape the corpses he creates, or even rape the living- and kill them in the process, not stopping the entire time. Sex means nothing to him except as a display of dominance and power. Love and affection are lost on him, and puppies and other such small things irritate him, and he wouldn't hesitate to dine upon them before their mother just to drive something rabid. He despises being ignored, but even more so being restrained. If he is unable to move, his body goes into a frenzy. His heart, a large and nearly ten-pound organ, beats double time. A roaring sounds in his ears, and his eyes glaze over. Every ounce of strength is thrown into destroying what holds him- and who put him there. The blood lust is amazingly strong. Worth noting: he is not blind in his wall-eye; his tongue has a very harsh, barbed texture and has no precise length; and his saliva is wrought with harmful bacteria that can cause infection and death- not unlike a Komodo dragon's. He's roughly 7' at the shoulder. His submission word is "platz", pronounces "plots". Jezabel has grown into a (mostly) sweet tempered individual... But also very naive. She'll believe almost anything she's told, and is easily manipulated. Jezabel just wants to be liked; she acts as sweet and bubbly as she can, and simply does not understand when someone does not like her. It distresses her greatly and sends her into a full force attempt to turn their opinion around- often making it worse. If something makes her uncomfortable or upset, she usually won't say anything... And if she does, it'll be a timid, hesitant little remark. Fun fact: Is the worst food-begger one might imagine. She sits up on her back legs and paws at the air cutely. And, because Vixen is so subjected to her little dance, Jezabel has not learned that this is unacceptable, and more often than not, will walk away with a little prize. Kronos has the aggressive, adventurous attitude of most Bloodpaws created by the labs... In fact, he seems to go a bit overboard. Though still developing, he already shows signs of being power-hungry, selfish, and manipulative. What's worse, he's seemed to have developed an extreme admiration for Zyler and his ability to terminate life... Kronos sees no bounderies to his behavior, and listens to none. This will probably not end well... Fun fact: Prone to keeping random bones from his kills in a little collection- often he likes skulls, but will occasionally accept vertebrae or hooves if the kill is particularly large.

Perseus is just always in the way and underfoot... It's not his fault, honestly, he tries his best to do good and work hard. He's just so curious and tries to help too much, the poor thing just tends to mess things up. He's the lowest of the low in the pack, constantly pushed around, doing the thankless tasks of pack life. Babysitting, den cleaning, clearing away bones and removing brambles- nothing is beneath him. He often has different opinion and ideas in his head, but he is not confident enough to voice them, and instead settles for just doing what he's told. He is a talented runner though, and, with the right training, can make a fantastic scout.

Voodoo is... difficult to explain in personality. While apathetic and reclusive at times, he can be a dynamite of aggressive, powerful, exaggerated emotions. He feels too hard, and shuns most other company. He is easily frustrated, and acts out with anger or crude actions when faced with a stressing situation, simply because he doesn't want to deal with it. He's anti-social for the most part, usually only bothering with Niu for long stretches of time. Even then, Niu is only used to quench his vampiric thirst. Adalric is very observant and wary of his surroundings. He dislikes things being behind him, and while not aggressive towards strangers, he is suspicious and will generally place himself between Vixen and people he is unfamiliar with. He keeps his own agenda and will not be walked on, but he is willing to cooperate with Vixen if her requests are not so very unreasonable. He's not all strict though; occasionally he will have a spark of humor and play a little prank on Vixen or the surrounding creatures- but never anything extreme. Odyseus is non-confrontational and stoic; a herd staple. He is not easily startled, regarding everything with patient, calm eyes. It takes a considerable amount to work up his temper (assuming he has one). He assumes role of herd leader among Vixen's Baakir herd, a role he will do his duties for but is not overly aggressive with. He carries his dominance quietly, rather than flaunting it in the faces of Imperia and Atrio. Because of this, he is respected much more, and meets no competition thus far for the rank. Honestly, if a bull he knew to be a better leader than he approached him, he would submit the position... But until then, he will defend his title in a passive, calm manner, and continue his duties- leading the herd to water and food, assuring they are well taken care of, overseeing them for safety.

Galion Pedigree: Wild Equillion x Regal Galabex Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 45 mph Power Levels: 4 Size Chart Reference: 4 By combining a Wild Equillion and Regal Galabex, a creature of speed, dexterity, and grace has been created. Their bodies are made for running- a roomy rib cage allows for large lungs and a huge heart. Paired with their long, albeit somewhat delicate legs, you'll be lucky to catch this animal when it sprints. The antlers of a Galabex and the horn of an Equllion seemed to have merged into one massive bony protrusion that starts at the muzzle and ends at the back of the head. Though the antlers are massive, these are hardly aggressive creatures; in fact, they're somewhat timid and very cautious. They also seemed to have taken after the more solitary nature of the Galabex, rather than the herding instincts of the Equillion. However, they are very sure-footed mounts, and while the Wild Equillion is petite, the Regal Galabex is the larger of its species, and a balance has been created. Thus, these creatures can carry one person and some supplies comfortably; however, two people would be trying, and it's certainly not recommended for use of a pack animal.

They tower over most creatures, save for pure Gugs, Wiurn, and a select few others. Despite the graceful flow they seem to have, they are still not extremely agile- after all, they have a lot of weight to carry! Though they can get extremely fast... they just have to try to stay in a straight line. Turning and dodging can slow them up a bit. They have thick, smooth hides and a slightly splay-legged way of walking. They are powerful animals; a rare collector's item- hey, I want one, anyway. But they're more than that- these creatures are efficient carnivores, capable of hunting down most all prey. They stalk the best they can if surrounded by foliage- and if not? They take off full-sprint to catch their target. It's thought that if you put them around Seekers, they could likely become "head of the pack" and manipulate the Seekers into following them- but they can do just as well on their own. If pressed they can chew on vegetation for nutrition, but this won't get them far... can you ride them? Well, there are spikes, but if you can somehow balance on that slope of their shoulder, go for it... but it's not really practical.

Both heads have fully functioning brains capable of thoughts, wants, needs, emotional attachments, personalities- the works. Whether or not the heads get along... well, results may vary; though typically we would expect that they don't fight too much; after all, they share pain and need to share a body. The larger head, having control of the bigger muscle groups, controls most of their movement, though the smaller one can war for control with enough effort. They are carnivorous, hunting with deception and stalking techniques, and while they share a stomach, both heads seem to war over the pleasures of being the one to swallow food. They excrete waste using a cloaca in the center of ther belly, and swim using an "S" swim pattern.

Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 40mph Size Chart: 4 Power Levels: 4 Wow... Just.. wow... These experiments are a very successful mix of what we in the business like to call 'the rawr factor'. The size of your average muscular, reptilian horse, they are bonafide meat eaters, and are not picky where their meal comes from, be it a bunny or deer merrily running by, a fish in the stream, or a carcass on the road. They strip flesh off the body with their many shark teeth, tossing it back into their mouths and swallowing the piece whole. Despite their impressive bony crests and spiny protrusions, these are mainly used for intimidation. The preferred method of attacking is biting, 'shoving' with their muscular sides, and fire... Oh yes, fire- that vivid coloration appears to be a warning coloration of "Caution! Flammable and Hungry!" That being said, in combination to their size, they have few threats. They are not strictly social nor solitary, but be warned- if you strike them as food, they're entirely liable to take a snap at you. They're extremely warm to the touch, and have vocalizations that range from growls, to odd reptilian clicks and squawks, to full-blown roars. And while not fully aggressive, they have a bit of a wicked temper and are territorial, and their form of 'playing' could be fatal to a smaller playmate. Suffice to say, proceed with caution. Biology: Sometimes good things come in small packages, and in the case of these half-breeds they're.. well, smaller packages than their mosca parents, but not quite so small as their ling-ling lineage. It seems that in compensation they do not have quite as strong innate natures nor magics as the former parent either, though what small gifts they do bear are certainly worth usefulness to a particularly crafty owner. These creatures are quite unique in the way that they have both scales and fur, though the former is quite soft and more rough skin-like while the latter is downy and short, save for the impressive flares of mane. The scaling is most evident along their underside and slightly more prominent along the fore-limbs and cheeks, but the fur easily covers the rest, even their wings. It might not make for the best in aerodynamics, but given their size and light weight, it suffices to make them still quite spry on the winds. Disposition-wise they are rather the two sides of the coin, when it comes to personalities inherited from their parents - one side, and the first anyone ever gets to become acquainted with, is one of pride and almost an air of haughty nature, the aloofness and composed nature that only a mosca could refine; the second side, which usually comes once they get to know you (and reversely, when you get to know them past that veneer of regal refinement) is one of true loyalty. Getting to that point, though, would take some time.. After all, when you are as magnificent as this, why would you need someone else? But should you succeed in proving them wrong on such a simple matter, consider yourself under their guard and watch - their gifts are few and small, but spirits be damned if they don't dry with ferocity should you be threatened.

Biology: There is a saying, which says: a rolling stone gathers no moss. Evidently it is not the case with floating stones, or rather, floating wood. Broad, heavy, incredibly large and impossibly strange, these half-breeds are no easy task for most trainers to take on. Even those who could claim extensive knowledge of either the pliathor or nyssa (or both) would find themselves at odds and ends when it comes to taming these flotilla forests. Mostly because there is nothing to, technically, 'tame'. These guys have few enough needs and almost next to no requirement of care, so long as the waters in which they're situated have a nutrient rich floor. Most of the time they do not even move, or if so very gradually, preferring to have the currents slowly push them along, making small adjustments along the way. They feed on the sun and what minerals they can absorb from the river- and lakebeds through their roots, stopping only to dig themselves in for a feeding or resting. Too large for most things to prey upon, too tough for others to even bother with, these half-breeds have next to no natural enemies and neither do they hunt for anything or -one themselves. Thus, a trainer who hopes to bond with one such beast must first manage to even achieve its attention - a task all the more difficult seeing as they seem more interested in what is below water in the sands than anything shouting words at them from the shore. But, patience and careful study can give a good enough trainer inklings on the mindset of these beasts. For one, their passive nature exists only so long as they are not irritated. It can take a while to force them from that state. This does not mean they are above acting upon it once they are.. After all, what better way to enrich soil than with organic matter?

Biology: One of civilisation's oldest companions was the dog. When the Labs came about, it became the vulticus. And now, one could say these crossbreeds might give the vulticus a run for its money.. Quite literally. Because there is but one thing these creatures are born to do, and that is, well.. simply to run. As hardy and stocky as their vulticus parents, while also having the flexibility and spryness of the gallor one, these creatures make for excellent companions in the snowy winter. The structure of their body and muscles allows them to pull weights quite easily, and the broad span of their feet make traversing flat, uneven surfaces, such as bog or snow, quite literally a breeze. They don't tire as easily as other vulticus might, and they rather like working together in the process. Certainly, there are many other more flashier creatures around, but what does flash account for again some good ol' fashioned reliable friendship? And friendly they are, indeed. Whether strongly bonded to one another or their owner, these creatures will gladly follow the suit of whoever is deemed the leader of the pack. They wont even shy away from bonding to other vulticus or gallor, though even these fine runners might have difficulty keeping up with the latter in flight.. Still, they're happy despite that, so long as they get to spend all that energy on a daily run.

Biology: "If you see the dragon fly, best you drink the flagon dry." There are many creatures in the world which could petition for the title of 'dragon' and most would make it a fair contest - are they not all 'dragons' in their own ways, their own manners? And yet these crossbreeds would set forth a challenge not so easily beat, for they carry the combined blood of nearly all such creatures, in one. When one thinks of dragons they immediately think of fire. As much is true with these creatures as well, for they not only are able to breathe it but also find it a comforting source for a bath. The crack of their wings combined with the tremble of their roar can send shockwaves through the air strong enough to bend trees and if that wasn't enough the very mane crackles and flickers with subtle static - should a battle take a turn for the unfavourable, well.. the draconic pride would not allow for their enemies to win without a cost. In other cases, they can even weave the lifelines of their foes, to better even the odds in their favour, bringing even mighty foes down to their level. Sufficed to say, they can be a handful. With enough tat-lungian pride within them, they have a distinct sense of self importance and thus, do not necessarily view humanoids as equal in measure. Curiosity might draw them to pick minds for thoughts and ideas, but it generally takes a while before they can deem any one humanoid more worthwhile than the rest. When angered, there is a fury bordering on instability, that vague, frail balance of staying in control passed down from the rather explosive and chaotic parentage, barely kept in check by the pride. But, once proven to, they can become quite loyal, even if a little uncompromising. After all: "It's a metaphor of human bloody existence, a dragon. And if that wasn't bad enough, it's also a bloody great hot flying thing." These creatures are completely blind, but using echo-location, can see their prey. They frequently stalk about the jungle floors, constantly in search of food. The Autumn is when they are said to be most dangerous, and are extremely violent (even more so than thier normal times) - for that's when they carry their babies, and they are very protective parents! Also, if you have any dogs - be cautious! Even though the Whiptails are only the size of an average dog, they usually become tasty snacks, so keep your puppies safely hidden!

They enjoy spending their days rummaging through the leafy forests, foraging for food (nuts and stray berries). They are excelent at climbing trees (or people), and love to live in social groups, often chattering away and grooming thier friends. Surely a cute pet for any creature-trainer. During the winter, they spend most of their time sleeping - and in the spring they come into bloom. Fall causes them to produce a single berry, which is used in many magical potions.

Silence is quiet, reserved, and... well... ghost-like. She's utterly quiet, easily disgusted, and disappears very suddenly from various situations. She is, however, drawn towards one thing- music, and beautiful noise... In fact, Vixen "caught" her by softly repeating song lyrics in gentle rhythm. Si was so utterly, despairingly lonely, she was drawn... Ironic that Vixen should choose to name her Silence when she loves music- this is because the song that Vixen serenaded her with repeated the line "Within the sound of silence". Si is Vixen's familiar (or, will be after a node is acquired).

The Deeble is a simple little creature. It prefers to live in trees, and though can be seen often enough on the ground, you’re more likely to find them in the trees of the northern forests. There is another breed of Deeble that lives in the south – more commonly noted in it’s differences by it’s green fur, but the brown deeble is by far the most common. The Deeble is covered in fur, a brown to match the tree-bark and dead leaves of the undergrowth. It’s body is the size of a house-cat, but is much more lanky. When stretched out completely, it is almost three feet long from nose-tip to toe-tip. It’s nose resembles that of an elephant, and is how it interacts with the world primarily. Though it’s sense of smell isn’t that great, it can smell, and can pick things up with it’s nose. It’s eyesight is similar to a human’s, but being small, it tends to only really notice things closer to it than farther away – things farther away are not threatening to it, unless it’s in the sky (then it’s scary). They have loooong legs meant for leaping, which are usually folded up against it’s scrawny body. With a hump-back, and smooth toes with no claws, these toothless creatures seem fairly harmless. Even their little “bobble” antennae with fuzzy tips make them seem “cute”. Deeble are deaf, but that doesn’t mean they can’t “hear”. They “hear” in a different way than people do – they can sense vibrations (which is very similar to hearing – they can “sense” special sounds, and thus can learn their name, etc), but this sensing of vibrations via their antennae is different than an ear-drum, which can be damaged by loud sounds. The Deeble is immune it seems to any decibel of noise.
And that is where the Deeble’s defense comes in. A Deeble only really has two terms for defense. Number one is it’s most preferred – which is also it’s way of impressing a mate. If it sees it’s predator approaching, it will turn and face them, stand it’s ground, and puff up the brilliant-colored air-pouch on it’s nose. That’s when the “attack” comes. Loud. SO loud. This little creature trumpets a sound that carries for miles, a short blast of near-deafening noise, “Pertuuuuup!!!” Or something to that effect. I’m told that it sounds similar to an elephant, only louder. This sound doesn’t really damage the hearing of the predator (but with repeated use would damage the Deeble’s, if it wasn’t immune due to it’s antennae), but it does do a fantastic job of scaring the bajeezes out of them, usually enough to make them turn heel and bolt, or give the Deeble a chance to use it’s secondary defense, which is to leap away. They can leap great distances, but aren’t very fast or strong… and if frightening away the enemy doesn’t work – not much else will. A Deeble is a standard prey animal, and as such, I’d like to mention that their legs, when fried, are delicious.

Winged Gargoyles are also intelligent, though they lack all the culture and rich history that the Runic Gargoyles once had. They are clever in their own ways, but most likely the lack of arms adds to their lack of ability to "learn and do".. it's hard to write with no arms. They do however, make excellent servants, as many miners have found out - but as usual, the labs does not support the ownership of intelligent creatures.
