Perhaps, if things kept going on like this; then they actually could finish this in one straight shot? It was going to take a lot of work overall, but Morgan figured that if it kept up with this light wind that was flowing over the grass... They could definitely spend the whole evening here. Morgan had cleared several days schedules over their beloved little Houluh, so another half a day wouldn't hurt, Morgan figured. Morgan threw the frisbee, and the wind made it a bit faster this time since it was flowing the same direction. The houluh rushed forward, immediately flowing over the field like water, this time a lot more used to the dips in the ground, as if he was learning which ones were where. Morgan was glad for that, it was working out pretty well actually. Morgan watched as the houluh caught up with the frisbee, and leaped up to grab it, easily over his own head in height of the leap itself.

Once the houluh once again had the frisbee in his jaws, he landed quite easily and ran towards Morgan almost in the same movement. His movements were starting to show that slight silkiness that a lot of creatures that were trained for battle had; undoubtedly he'd be super neat and speedy as an adult, whenever he got to that point. To Morgan's eyes, the creature was growing somewhat slowly, in comparison to what they had expected. Perhaps he would be a puppy for a long time? "Good job, good boyo Nico!" Morgan called out, as the houluh returned to them quite quickly. Morgan would take the frisbee again, and toss it again. This action was repeated for a long time, until Morgan finally had their arm sore from all the throwing. Nico did not seem to be getting tired at all; so they kept working with it again and again until finally, Morgan figured that they would move on to something else; water first though.

Morgan was planning on taking the houluh for another training session perhaps tomorrow if he wasn't too sore, but they wanted to be careful with him. Tiring Nico out would not be a good idea, he needed to be in the best condition possible at all times. Morgan put the frisbee away, much to the sorrow of the poor houluh, but they needed to get some more water in the boyo. It wasn't that Nico didn't know how to care for himself, but he was sometimes forgetful due to being excited. Morgan asked Nico to follow them with the command, and then moved over to the water bucket. "Alright boyo, lets get you a drink." The water bucket was filled soon with fresh water, and Nico drank like he hadn't noticed how thirsty he was while Morgan stood back, gently patting their arm where it was sore. They had to do this more often in order for Morgan not to feel so much pain.

Morgan had to come up with a list of things to teach the creature tomorrow if all things went well. It was quite important that he learn all of the basic obedience possible that wasn't entirely doubling up on basically the same thing, but it was also important that he had a lot of showy things to do as well. Perhaps agility trials, real agility trials, would be the best entry into doing shows? It was important that he knew as much stuff as possible first before they entered one. Houluh were at a disadvantage because they didn't fly, honestly. After a little while, the houluh was done drinking, and Morgan bent down to give him a pet and check him all over for anything that seemed to be sore. "Not sore, are you boyo?" Morgan wanted to make sure that the creature was not nursing any hidden injuries during the work they had done so far today. He didn't seem to be, thankfully. "Alrighty, good boyo!"

There were so many things they needed to work on; and Morgan was having to remind theirself that they had time to do it all in. It wasn't like he was going to grow up tomorrow, after all. In fact, lots of species never grew up, and the houluh had been like this for a long time. Yeah, they probably had a long time to do this in. Calm down, slow it down Morgan. Morgan stood up, and then gave the command to follow again. They were going to make one more pass at the agility trial before moving on to something else; they wanted to do this thing until he could run it himself. Morgan was absolutely sure that if they stayed throughout the whole day, that he would eventually be able to do it all by himself. "We're going to do the agility run again, boyo." Morgan said, matter of factly. Morgan could actually feel a bit of understanding across the RoT, suddenly. [34] - [167 Words]

Huh, that was... Odd. Morgan wasn't a hundred percent sure how these RoTs worked, but perhaps they'd be able to communicate more freely together as time went on? For now it seemed to be limited only to small amounts of things that broke through the void a bit like lightning. It was possible that Nico didn't even know about it at all. In fact, Morgan thought that was the case after all. They made their way over to the agility equipment again, and this time Nico was stoked. He had an idea of what he was supposed to do it would seem; he rushed over to the stairs and started leaping on them, from platform to platform, nearly tripping in his excitement. "Don't get too excited boyo, we're going to walk through it slow again." Perfect practice makes perfect; not sloppy practice. Morgan was reminded of that advice from their father all the time. "Perfect practice makes perfect; so slow the first few times." Morgan was not a believer of 'slow and steady wins the race' at all, but they were a believer that the first few times were not expected to be done at breakneck speed.

Nico of course listened, and got back down onto the grass. He suddenly looked up at the sky; ears raised up, and tilted his head. Morgan followed his gaze up to the sky while speaking; "What are you see- Oh." It looked like a big dark cloud was starting to roll up on the horizon. Ah, well, Morgan wasn't too worried about it. They could feel electricity sometimes; and it seemed like it wasn't too bad. "It should be fine boyo, we can finish up. Doesn't feel like too big of a thunderstorm, boyo." Morgan babbled a bit, and then gently reached down and petted him carefully. He didn't seem scared; just like he was alerting Morgan of the fact that a storm was coming. Morgan walked forward, this time standing on the other side of the steps instead of climbing them. "Are you ready, boyo? You ready to start, Nico?" Morgan asked him, getting his attention.

Finally, Nico tears his gaze away from the thundercloud, and moved to go up the stairs. It wasn't that hard for him this time; the combination of warming up and also having been through the agility set not too long ago seemed to be helping him grow in confidence. That was the real important thing for starting this kind of training, in Morgan's opinion. Confidence allowed for a creature to become much better at just about anything, so Morgan was glad that he was starting to find himself a bit there. He makes his way down the stairs, looking quite a bit more confident on the downside than he had on the upside. "Good boyo, okay, next one!" Morgan said, waving for the creature to move on to the next area; which of course was one of the two see-saws. Morgan remembered that the last time they had run up against one of these, that Nico was a bit anxious with working on them.

Morgan was so glad that the tiny creature seemed to be a lot more confident; especially when he jumped up onto the seesaw easily enough, moving across it with speed and purpose. The creature made it to the other side and waited for it to hit the ground before jumping off; hopefully he would keep doing that in that exact way, because it would be really good not to have to teach him how to do that each time. Breaking a bad habit was much harder than training a good one, to be honest. Morgan moved ahead as well. "Good job, Boyo; good one!" Morgan said while grinning. They were so glad that this was going so well so far, and it was quite good about the situation that they were inadvertently going quite a bit faster than they had before. "Such a good boyo, Alright Nico, lets go on to the next one!" Morgan said, grinning softly as they went to the next thing.

They weren't really even halfway through with the evening, Morgan knew, but they had to hang on and keep trucking. The critter was going to be much improved by the time they got out of there that day, and Morgan was convinced of it! They just had to continue to work, and as hard as possible. The little mental pep-talk filtered it's way across the RoT unbeknownst to Morgan, and they would perhaps never know. They moved on to the next thing, and Nico did so with an extra pep in his step. That was quite good! The houluh took a running start this time and ran up the upside down 'v' shaped obstacle; easily making his way down the other side at a slightly slower rate. Morgan cracked a wide grin at this, and continued on walking at a good clip this time. "Good boyo, great job, go go go Nico!" Morgan said, as they went to the next obstacle.

The houluh was doing really well, so far. Morgan was excited as he made his way to the tunnel. The tunnel was the one that actually gave them the most in trouble this last time, and it was one of those situations where Morgan wasn't so sure if the creature was going to perform properly this time. "Go in the tube, in the tunnel boyo!" Morgan said, pointing in the tunnel as they walked past. Nico couldn't help it; he was so energetic! The creature ran into the tunnel speedily; racing. Morgan sped up to move to the other side of the tunnel quickly. Morgan's chest swelled with pride on the inside. "Good boyo, that's great, keep on keep going." Morgan said, as the houluh excited right at their side from the other end of the tunnel. That was as good as Morgan could have expected! "Such a good one, alright, it's the poles now!"

Nico was doing just great; and Morgan wanted to keep it up. The poles were not really the good tightly spaced ones that would make him have to weave through them, but they would still give him pause. Morgan walked between them like they did the previous time; and Nico followed after them. This time, Morgan did not have to do anything special to get him to go through them the way that Morgan was, simply because they were moving like that. Morgan was quite pleased with the fact that Nico was learning so quickly, and he seemed to be moving a little more fluidly already. "You're doing so well Nico, good job boyo!" The bespectacled human said, as they got to the end of the less-than-spectacular pole set. "We've got a few more, you think you can do them by yourself buddy?" Morgan asked grinning a bit widely. Nico did move forward, having a caught a bit of it through the RoT.

Morgan stopped walking for a moment to allow him to pass them, and then they followed at a loose distance as they houluh makes a mad rush for the upside down 'v' and took off over it, doing quite well in his run. After hitting the ground from the upside down 'v' shaped obstacle, he hit the last see saw, doing just as well as he did previously; running across it and stayed very well balanced the whole way across, even bracing against the jar of the see saw hitting the ground. "Good boyo, keep on, hit the stairs!" The bespectacled human called out. "Such a good boyo!" They caught their-self saying, and then felt a bit funky after; a bit embarrassed perhaps that they were so proud of him. Nico sped up a bit, and climbed up and then down the stairs without incident and with the fastest run that he had done thus-far, even in this slower run on purpose. Morgan was right on his heels by the end of it.

Morgan called for Nico to stop and then petted him on the head happily when he did so. "Such a good boyo, such a good one! Yes, you did really well Nico, good boy." Their voice was a little more jovial than they would have wanted, but heck, no one was here, right? No one was here to see Morgan treat the creature with the normal affection most people gave their creatures. Morgan gave him a bit of jerky from a little pouch they had brought as a treat; just the tiniest piece because Morgan knew that he wasn't ready for a meal. So close to after running this much and he might get sick. However, it was the action that really counted. "Alright boyo, lets go get you a drink okay?" Morgan half asked, and half told him. They moved over to the water bucket quite quickly, and Morgan began to fill it up with water.

Soon enough, the houluh was drinking again. Morgan wanted to make sure that he stayed hydrated and that he would be safe. Of course, this was a lot of athleticism that was being required of him. Honestly, they had done some work previously at home in the yard (Morgan did not believe in taking a creature somewhere without giving them some kind of work first) and had done some athletic things at the park, but they did not ever do this much work in the hot sun. Morgan gently petted the creature all over, checking him for any hidden injuries that would need to be worked on. "You are doing so good today, such a good boyo." Morgan said again, this time petting his head. He finished up his drinking and had gotten some on his face. He shook his body, shaking the water off around him. It flew everywhere; including on Morgan a bit.
