Ashe spun around as the rustling got louder and - something hopped out. But it wasn't a spooky pet at all, it wasn't something new and interesting, it was just one of the bugs that made this garden its home. Ashe let out a sigh, not quite of disappointment because it was still interesting, but it was just one of those bugs. He may have thought the Golossle cute. He just wasn't into bugs as a whole. He did notice that this bug was carrying a bunch of fruits. Now that... Hell, could he train one of these things to go off and harvest things? He had never thought of that before. Boomy let out a startled bleet, alarmed at the sudden creature's appearance. He backed up a bit so Ashe stood just in front of him.
The koguma stopped when the human and the other creature turned to look at it. It hadn't realized it wasn't alone. It was just as startled as Boomy, but it showed it by freezing - maybe the predator wouldn't see it!

Okay - that was something Ashe didn't want to do, scare it off. He straightened an arm out to block Boomy from doing anything else, but the dino was content to hide behind Ashe until further notice. Ashe then crouched down and inched closer, slowly. This was more to put distance between him and Boomy than actually approaching the Koguma, and he hoped the insect could sense a lack of harm. He stayed low, making his profile less threatening by size, and he knelt completely once he was a good few feet away from Boomy.
"Hey there. Wow, look at all that fruit you have, that must be heavy! I can take some of that for you... You won't have to hunt for your food all day anymore, I can make sure you get fed and live happily..." Ashe murmured softly, hoping his tone was more soothing than scary. He didn't speak bug! "I won't hurt you. I admire you, look at how strong you are! And you found all of that by yourself..."

The koguma didn't look that scared of him, thankfully. It also didn't look that interested in approaching yet. But at least Ashe had gotten it used to his presence! And his voice. As long as Boomy stayed where he was, which so far he had thankfully, he might be able to entice... He reached into his pockets, looking for treats he could offer. It liked fruits, right? He had some fruit treats he'd been using on the Golossle and Boomy earlier. He pulled them out now. They were smashed, smelled amazing, and gooey. He held one out, hoping the smell would get the Koguma closer. It seemed to be working - one hesitant step, then another. Ashe waited patiently, perfectly still and low to the ground. The koguma took its time, but eventually he felt the soft insect - fingers? - pluck the treat from his hand. He smiled to himself, feeling accomplished. "How is it? Good? I have another one..." Slowly, he pulled his arm back in and grabbed another treat. The rustle of the bag was a little scary, but the offered treat got the Koguma to approach again. They must taste good!

Treats are the way to any critter's heart! ... or so it seems. The koguma has definitely warmed up to you in a small space of time, and is happy to be around you with its hoard, which is a great start. Looks like it's gonna stick around for now.
[Congratulations, you have successfully tamed the creature!]

The rustles and noises of the group haven't gone un-noticed... With a soft rustle of branches and leaves, some of the more browned leaves fall free to the ground, joining their brethren among the ground. A very light breeze caused by the gentle steps of a feline, sends a few of the smaller, lighter leaves drifting away. There's little else that reveals the approach...except, maybe, that innate and strange feeling that someone's cautious eyesight linger on your back, from the shadows of a partially barren bush...

Ashe had needed a breath of fresh air. He had called to Boomy, the cute little fossil critter that didn't get nearly enough time exploring the city. He wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, so Ashe didn't feel like he could trust him as well as he could some of the other creatures, not yet. But he did notice that the bond was starting to grow between them; the little dino was found to be looking at him more often now, before he went off and did something. Ashe liked that.
"Come on, Boomy," Ashe called to the little critter, as they entered the garden. It was mid summer and Ashe had a lot of cleaning to do! "Stick close to me, buddy." He had been carrying a rake, and got to work. The piles of dead leaves, the broken branches, the dead plants - Ashe was coming for them! Boomy dutifully stayed out of range of that rake, but didn't venture far.

Ashe spent a good hour just raking stuff from the sides of his garden. He had a wooden fence keeping his separate from other peoples', and he pulled the dead leaves and such things away from the fence, out toward the middle. This was a decent sized plot, with a stream that ran through it, inevitably connecting his with other peoples'. In those places, there were breaks in the fence, or holes made. But he didn't want weeds creeping on to his side - or, more realistically at this point, spreading from his onto someone else's.
Boomy left the rake alone, much like an Estharne might hide from a vacuum, but he did seem to take an interest in the leaf piles Ashe was making. He tromped through them, making a terrible crackling noise that had caused Ashe to look up with a startled expression the first time he'd heard it. But he saw the cause, and grew used to the sound. The little living fossil even took to rolling in the leaves.

Be careful not to step on these, Boomy...

While Ashe was digging, he came across something leafy and green under some leaves. Odd, things didn't normally grow under the leaves where sunlight couldn't reach them! He thought it looked like a carrot top. "Strange..." He murmured, half to himself, half imagining Boomy could hear him and would care about what he had to say. Boomy was, in fact, too busy playing around to notice or care, but Ashe's attention was focused on the leafy green thing anyway. He reached forward and gently dug his fingers into the soft earth where he could get a better grip on whatever it was. He gave a tug and, sure enough, an orange tube emerged. It was a carrot! He brushed the dirt off with his hand, looked it over. He deemed it was edible and not too young to harvest, then stuck it in his sack. He'd brought the bag with him in case he found any bounty, but he had been expecting stuff like mushrooms growing in the damp shade!

Boomy stopped suddenly in mid roll. Upside down, staring at the sky, something had caught his eye. He slowly rolled over to get his feet under him and he started digging his small snout in the branches and dirt he'd been playing in. There! A splash of color! It was bright purple, which stood out amongst the dark and the brown. He trotted over to it and nosed it, flopping it over. He let out a snort, amused, and tromped over to where the purple thing had landed. He flipped it over again and again, not looking at where he was going, his full attention on that thing!
Boomy ended up bumping right into Ashe's leg. The human let out a dramatic grunt and looked down, seeing the critter and the toy he had. He chuckled and patted Boomy on the head. "What'd you find there, little guy?" He knelt and, to Boomy's dismay, took the Bunnana away from him. He looked it over, found it wasn't too damaged, and stuck it in the bag.

Boomy seemed a little put out that Ashe had taken his toy away. Ashe almost felt sorry for the little guy! But when you were a young animal like Boomy was, anything at all could be a toy! Ashe glanced around for something to replace the bunnana with and found a stick. He held it up, waving it in front of Boomy. The motion would surely get his attention, right? And it seemed to work - the fossil critter looked up at it, his head following its movements. Ashe waved it around energetically in the air, to get him riled up enough, then he tossed the stick for him to chase. Boomy seemed startled that Ashe let go of the stick, and he went tromping after it, not a care in the world for what leaves and small twigs he flattened on his way. He quickly retrieved the stick, taking a few tries to figure out how to get his mouth around it without stabbing himself with one of the branch-spikes.
