It was time for another show ring, and all of the hustle around the Contest Hall was just a delight to Shayna. There was a nice turnout of strong pets this time, and she looked forward to their displays were sure to draw crowds! "Welcome to our Strength show ring! Now is our contestants' chance to show off their might, but remember - attacking your fellow contestants is no good here!"-Show Ring ends September 11th - ((Please put ALL tricks, moves, and abilities used by your contestant in an OOC line at the end of your post, even ones not done on command, else they will not be counted toward your score. Please note if you would like a Stag or Doe Orbaru in your first post.))

Renathan was pretty quiet when he brought Six Point Stag into the ring this go around. He felt like strength should be able to speak for itself, of course, but he still felt the need to let everyone know who they were about to watch. He quickly drags out the old drake dummy that he used for training, it had been repaired and destroyed more times than he could count. The mammalian turned about and waved his hand towards the large drake. Thankfully, the area had been cleared out and there was nothing to catch on fire, because the drake steps into the ring, causing a slightly confused noise to erupt from the audience. "This is Six Point Stag. Don't mind that he's on fire... Or uh, that he's covered in tree bark. No, he's here to show you what strength looks like!" Perhaps a little too grandiose a claim, but ah well, Renathan thought, his tail tips twitching. At least the crowd couldn't see his face beneath the mask. Stag was looking perhaps a little bored and irritated, but most drakes looked pretty fearsome, so Renathan was sure that it would be fine.

<What do I do now?> Stag asked through the link, glaring through the bright lights at the group of people in the audience. This did feel a bit like the pit, but Stag was more laid-back than most Drakes so he didn't feel the need to be aggressive. In fact, he was deceptively docile looking often enough. {I'll give you commands, and when I do, I want you to attack the dummy over there. That specifically, and not the other contestants or anyone else.} Renathan specified back through the link. Stag didn't answer back, but he did turn toward the training dummy. He'd trained with it before incredibly often. He was no stranger to attacking it. Renathan grinned beneath the mask, and then gave the command for Six Point Stag to rend the training dummy. Immediately, perhaps with a bit of nervousness, Stag did as he was commanded, bringing his huge claws up and ripping into the side of the Dummy with ferocity. "Meir Gaessh, Stag!" Renathan said, grinning. It was certainly a terrifying display, a shard of wood had landed not too far away.

They were nearly done, but Renathan wanted to show off another of his moves, one that was quite terrifying and definitely showed his strength. <Was that okay?> Stag asked, whipping around and looking very devlishly at the crowd. {Yeah, that was real great Stag. We're gonna do another one, so don't hold back on that dummy!} Renathan excitedly sent back over. It would seem that Stag was actually... Enjoying this! That was not something that Renathan was expecting, he expected the big quiet drake to just sort of deal with it until it was time to go home. He must have looked like a monster, or an undead treant, all tree-bark and on fire. Renathan was so used to looking at him that he didn't even think about it. He called out the command for Stag to use Vice Grip this time, and the drake lunged forward onto the dummy, crushing it between his two creaking jaws and holding on, tightening his hold like a crocodilian would have done. Unsurprisingly, this caused quite a bit of destruction to the wooden dummy; sending a whoop and excited roar through the crowd, even though Six Point Stag was silent. Renathan was pleased. Should he continue on and ask Stag to do whatever he wished, or should he stop here? Renathan decided to stop here. "Alrighty folks, that's Stag!" He waved, and then called the drake off, quickly picking up the pieces of the dummy. It would have to be rebuilt again, but that was okay. Renathan was pretty good at it by this point. The pair walked off of the stage, sure that Stag had done decently enough.

Trained: Faster/Slow Down(1), Pull Buggy(2), Turn Right/Left(1) Ashe entered the Contest Hall that day, knowing they wouldn't be that successful, but also hoping to show off the strength in a pet that might not be looked at as a typical "strong" pet. He led Chrome, a Skeletal black Zesty Equillion, in on a lead rope. He pranced a little bit, experiencing some nerves at being around so many people, and having said people staring at him, and also being around so many other creatures. Chrome didn't get out as much as some of Ashe's other pets and in hindsight he probably should have tried to go with something that was a little more used to this kind of situation. Ah, well. He had faith Chrome would be fine. Also with Ashe was Inyala, but she had been instructed to stay as well out of sight as she could, so as not to distract or bother the other contestants. Chrome might know her and what she was; others might not. So she was burrowed down against Ashe's neck, using his hair to sort of shield her. While Chrome didn't have any moves that outright used his strength, he did have some training that Ashe might be able to use to wow the crowd. With him, he'd brought a cart, and with the cart, he'd brought some rather heavy sand bags to load into the cart. (Stag please!)

Ashe took a few moments while another contestant showed off his Drake to hook up Chrome to the buggy. It involved a lot of straps, and would have required even more if Ashe had brought the driving bridle with him, but he didn't need to drive from a seated position in the cart itself; he was just going to lead the Equillion around and a lead rope would be good enough for that. Once he was hooked up, and impatiently pawing at the ground in both a display of boredom but also getting his nerves out, Chrome arched his neck and lashed his tail, knowing something was going to happen if he was hooked up to this contraption. Ashe had trained him at a Summer Fair years ago, and he might be sort of rusty, but this wasn't a competition for the best buggy-puller, was it?
Inyala hung onto Ashe's shoulder, ever present, as he ducked and bent over and did up straps. She had the desire to help her master, but this was much too big and she was much too weak to help out too much, so she just stayed out of the way.
When he was hooked up, and the other contestant was completely done, Ashe started. "This is Chrome. While he's not build for battle, strength isn't just about fighting. Sometimes, especially if you are a traveler, all you want is something reliable that will be able to carry you and your gear. Chrome will demonstrate the strength of an Equillion, for carrying and pulling!"

Ashe tried his best to rile up the crowd; knowing that the Equillion wasn't the most exciting, especially not when the contest started with a Drake! Ashe wished he could have brought Fafnir, but Fafnir would have scared people and that wouldn't be good in a situation like this. So, back to Chrome. He started lifting sand bags into the cart; in a couple of minutes, he had enough to more than double his own body weight. He murmured soft instructions to Inyala, and she hopped into the cart to demonstrate; she sat in the driver's seat as Ashe led the stallion around the ring. Chrome pulled with ease, even breaking into a trot sometimes. He was ready to go! All of this nervous energy was building up in his legs and waiting to explode!
After one round, Ashe stopped and added some more weight, announcing the pounds and then walking around. And then add some more, and walk some more... All in all, Chrome could pull five hundred pounds - possibly more, but in truth Ashe was more concerned about crushing the cart so he stopped. He unloaded the cart, brought Inyala back onto his shoulder, and unhooked Chrome completely - then they did one last lap where Ashe jogged alongside a trotting Zesty. His head held high, his eyes bright, ears alert - showing that he had pulled what was asked of him and still had energy to spare!

She smiled a little, trying to disperse the melancholy in her heart, and then nodded and stepped up to one of the dummies that was set up. Short and sweet she figured, and motioned for Given to follow her for the moment. "Alright Given, rend!" she told him, watching with pleasure as he cut the dummy from shoulder to hip as hard as he could before she gave the next attack, "Crunch!" Given snaked his head forward and clamped down on the dummy as hard as he could with his jaw, shaking it a little to see what he could do to it for the moment. Giving a low chuckle, the woman bowed a little, their set done already. She wasn't much of a showman right now. (Stag please)

Name: Seraiah Micah Level: 29 Loyalty: 28 Stamina: 6 Strength: 8 Resistance: 6 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 0Abilities: Physical Resistance, Uncontrollable Rage (sound of children's laughter), Danger Sense Moves: Rend, Dodge, Bound, Kick, Lick Wounds, Deceptive Lure Tricks: Name Items he wears: None Items he was groomed with: As she still feels she needs to calm down, she decided it will be best to groom Seraiah’s fur first while watching from an angle how the other contenders try to show to the crowd their companion’s strength. Taking Seraiah to a less crowded corner where she can see somewhat what is going on in the show ring, she takes off her backpack while Seraiah is looking curiously in the direction of a Drake that already competed in the ring. Was he trying to see what his competition is like? She doesn’t know, this is the first time she took him for this type of contests. Breath in, breath out.. Shaking her head slightly in the hope she can focus a bit better as her thoughts are starting to creep back in why she is still so angry, she opens the zipper and rummages through her bag for the brush she took along for this. “Stand still Seraiah.” She mutters to her companion as he starts to fidget, looking uncertain on what he is supposed to do. Finding the brush, she gently drops her backpack to the ground, using her foot to shove it a couple feet away from them, and starts to use the brush first on his head when she gestures him to bend, smiling tightly at him when he bends slightly at the pressure of her hand on his shoulder. Allowing her to first brush his head a lot easier, then carefully his long ears, before starting at the neck and shoulders. “Your fur at least will come out to be perfect Seraiah.” She mutters in a soft tone to him, getting a curious look for her efforts as she starts doing his arms, making sure to have her hand holding the arm she works on stays more in an open palm position that she presses up when needed and she isn’t gripping as tightly as she did earlier. It’s not his fault she is angry at the situation. Once she is done with both the arms, and later brushing the rest of his body down so that not a hair looks out of place, she feels confident that Seraiah will go in the ring looking more handsome than others of his kind, even if looking good might not be what earns them any points with this particular contest. Looking further into the waiting room she spies something that isn’t usually there for a contest, but with this one it makes sense. In the back of the waiting room dummies are contained in that corner, enough for each contender to work with should they want too. Though, from what she can tell, most just brought along their own equipment. Much like she did too. (Honestly, both Orbaru look good, so pick the one least chosen from it for me please?)

“Right, one of them would still be a good idea to use. He only knows one thing on command that shows his strength.” She mutters as she stares at the dummies, yes, she can definitely use that when it is their turn. Letting go of Seraiah for the moment she walks back to her backpack in order to put the used brush in it, and have the bag be placed on her back again without having the shoulder straps dig in too much at her shoulders. “Alright Seraiah, It’s our turn.” She says while taking one of Seraiah’s front paws to lead him towards the show ring. She saw that one of the contenders is finished now, and she is eager to start and not be kept waiting and stewing inside her mind now that she is done brushing his fur. “Grr..” Seraiah grumbles low in his throat as they pass a Wiurn and their owner. She isn’t certain if Seraiah just did that out of fear or something else. “Hello everyone!” She calls out cheerfully to the crowd as they step inside the ring, Seraiah looking more like he is humoring her by allowing himself to be steered by the handholding she continues to do. “I am Twilight and this is my companion Seraiah Micah, a Pink Fuzzy Bunny. The pink in their species name is rather apt, no?” She grins as she lets go of Seraiah’s paw. “Let me just grab a dummy, and we can get this show on the road.” She exclaims as she walks away, though stops for a moment when she notices Seraiah following after her. “No Seraiah.” She says softly, pushing him gently to the middle then leaving again, checking behind her to make certain he got the hint. The confused stare of Seraiah as he stays in the middle made her want to hurry up, she didn’t like keeping him in such a state, who knows what he’ll do when around a crowd of people for too long. Checking her pockets she is glad to find she didn’t forget to take along with her some treats for when he does a good job. “Now which to choose from?” She murmurs as she sees different types of dummies having been placed here. “Perhaps this one?” She decides on taking a peach training dummy, she has a similar one at home, only less chewed on compared to this one. She has yet to break it in with using it for training. “This one will do.” She says under her breath as she carries the heavy dummy to the show ring, and sees that while Seraiah kept himself in the same spot, he looked both tense and wary around himself, squinting in the light whenever he looks up.

Trying to be as fast as possible with dragging the dummy in the ring she drops it gracelessly once it is close enough to the middle of the ring that everyone can see it. “You’ve behaved excellently Seraiah.” She says softly to him while scratching his back lightly on a certain spot as a reward, knowing it is one of those spots he has a hard time reaching himself, even with it being possible to scratch himself there. With the light rumbling coming from Seraiah’s throat at the pleasure he receives, she starts focusing on the crowd again while continuing with scratching his back. “So here is what I am going to show you all, see those claws on his front and hind paws? His race has a very easy time ripping something apart, though I am hoping to show you before that something else first. Even though he hasn’t been taught it, he might still perform it.” She exclaims cheerfully to the crowd, moving her hand away from Seraiah’s back she instead starts busying herself with taking off her backpack and opening the largest zipper taking out a solid bamboo stem that is chopped off on both sides so it is only about twenty centimeters long but has a thickness of twelve centimeters. She was able to get someone to drill a hole in it on one side that is large enough so that she could at home stuff it full of treats after that was done and plug it with some normal sticks so that it wouldn’t slip out of the hole, just for this occasion to be used.
“Here Seraiah, I think you will enjoy this.” She comments as she hands him the treat. “Grrr?” Seraiah kept at first a gentle hold on it with his paws, not certain what to do with it, but as he brings it closer to his nose to sniff at it, she sees his ears perk up more at the scent he is detecting. “Try it Seraiah.” She urges him with a grin, mimicking the movement of having one of her own and biting down on it. “Hurr..” She hears Seraiah say in curiosity, sniffing at it for a moment longer before showing his sharp teeth to her and the crowd as he bites in it, first carefully, but when it didn’t crack to spill its insides, harder. Hard enough that the distinct crack of wood breaking could easily be heard as he practically starts destroying the bamboo in order to get to the treat. “There you have it folks, those are some very sharp teeth you see in action as he tears through the almost solid bamboo!” She sees some of the crowd going bored by not presenting a very flashy move, but she hopes that once Seraiah gets to the rending part of the dummy that it will interest the crowd once more.

When Seraiah is done a minute after with tearing through it with his teeth and eating everything from within it, she picks up the broken bamboo pieces and stuffs it back in her bag. “Seraiah?” She says in a soft tone to get his attention as she comes a few steps closer to the dummy, kicking it with her feet the moment Seraiah looks in her direction and stares at her. “Seraiah?” She says while kicking the dummy again, gaining Seraiah’s interest at what she is doing as he slowly comes closer. Ears twitching and flattening slightly as he hears murmurs going on at his back from the crowd. “Don’t pay it any attention Seraiah.” She mutters to him, kicking the dummy again when he looked at her, and then at her feet. Tilting his head to the side as he watched her do it again, he starts huffing lightly as if in exaggeration at what she is doing. Lifting his own leg as if to kick a ball he mimics her kick almost exactly, only he puts enough force into it that he kicks it away from them by two meters as it gets launched away from them. “Grrr?!” Seraiah grunts out in surprise, was he expecting his own kick to do nothing more then twitch slightly like hers did? No wonder he’d be surprised with it. “Good job Seraiah!” She says cheerfully, gaining his attention with it again, smiling she decides to take out of her pocket the packet of meat treats and a carrot variation, sometimes he does like to switch in which one his preference go to from time to time. Bringing his head closer to sniff at the packets, he lingers longer on the carrot treats today so she puts away the meat treats and opens the other packet. Taking out two treats she hands it to him in a open palm, watching him grab the treats with his front paw and bringing it almost in a throwing motion to his mouth to chew on it.

“Right then.” She says when he finishes the treats and looks at her face and then at the treats, ears twitching as he perks up more after getting another reward so soon when he had bitten into something else. “Seraiah use Rend.” She says while pointing with her empty hand at the dummy that is a small distance away from them now. Seraiah’s head turned into the direction she pointed at, taking only a second to decide what he wants to do. He leaps at the dummy and with a flash of sharp claws raised in the air it descends at the dummy and he rips open the stomach, letting its stuffing spill out and clawing only one more time with his other paw to get the same effect. She is glad it is just a dummy and not a real person getting ripped apart right now, she certainly wouldn’t want to be in the dummy’s place. Clapping her hands together once in order to get both Seraiah’s attention and the attention of the crowd, she then waves her hand in Seraiah’s direction as he sits back and watches her. “Well, this should be it folks. While Seraiah’s kind is known to have some great kicking strength on their own, it is their claws that are the most dangerous. And perhaps even more so their tough skin as they can easily take a hit from another creature so long as it is done in a physical way. Its not something I am willing to show though!” She says in a serious tone at the last part, Seraiah might know how to clean up his own wounds, but it is meant for battle or accidents, not to entertain a crowd where she hurts him to show off his overall toughness compared to other Races. That would just be distasteful to do. “You can always look up the information from somewhere. Hope to see you next time!” She decides to say bowing to both the crowd and the judges, before walking closer to Seraiah she gives him another treat for having done exactly what she hoped he’d do, and for his good behavior so far. Pocketing the treat packet back in her coat, she then starts picking up the ripped dummy, taking care to have the stuffing be pushed back into the large doll and then dragging it out of the ring, perhaps these ones where just a cheaper version of the one she had bought from the Supply and Demand Store? She muses as she brings it back to the place where she took it from while Seraiah follows after her with interest, not once glancing back at the crowd as it didn’t hold his interest one bit.

This sort of contest was, admittedly, not Fiera's style. She was used to showing off pretty and cutesy creatures, with complex choreography and beautiful moves. This sort of brute force was... unlike her, to say the least. She didn't do very well in the last contest either despite her best efforts, and while she had been trying to not let it get to her, she had been snippy all day. Still, she came wearing her Sunday best- a light and gauzy dress, with a fluttery sash and scarf and a taffeta hair decoration. Some beauty to go with the beast. Her discomfort hopefully wouldn't show under the bombast of her actions, as Fiera never stopped short of putting on a show.
She glanced behind her to see if her pet was just as ready. She had made sure to tie Desert's saddle on tight, and had double checked and triple checked more for her own nerves than for his security. He had been accommodating however, letting her fiddle with his equipment however she pleased. The benefits of having an immovable object for a pet. She had also tied multiple bags to his saddle, and put together a (admittedly slap dash) cart for him to pull along behind him. She had also brought well... a bunch of rocks with her. Those were already out in the ring however, set up in multiple piles. Desert snuffled behind her as she gazed off stage stage nervously, as if to indicate that he was ready to go on. She put a reassuring hand on his head, took a deep breath, and flounced out into the ring.
"Come on, Desert!" She chirped as she skipped out in front of the crowd. As usual, she gave her best prize winning smile and waved to the crowd, flourishing the flowing sleeves on her outfit. "Greetings, ladies and gentlemen!" She laughed.

"I have a real treat for you today!" She said, and gestured to the entrance to the ring, where Desert came trotting out. "Now, strength isn't just all about fire and flair." She said reassuringly- even though fire and flair is likely what they wanted today. "Sometimes, strength is just about resistance- straining to move the unmoveable. And that, my dear audience, is what I intend to show you today!" After that, she began running to the different piles of rocks, leaving the three in front of the judges intact. The audience might think that she was putting on a show, grunting and struggling to drag some of them into Desert's cart and saddle bags, but in reality they really were that heavy. Soon, his bags were stuffed to the brim with the unwieldy stones, and the cart had about as many as it could take without collapsing. She gave the audience a polite curtsy, and hefted herself up onto her thundergug's back.
"Ok Desert... go!" She said, pointing forward, and he began to move. She could hear the audience whispering as he strained against the massive weight of the rocks, and she bit her lip. Had she overdone it? But soon, despite the cart's groans of effort, Desert began plodding foward. Fiera breathed out quietly, and guided him left and right across the ring, making sure everyone had the chance to see just how much he was carrying. Once she was sure they had gotten a good look, she moved him to the center of the stage. "Ok Desert, you can stop..." She said, and he slowed to a stop. "And... up!" She commanded, holding onto the front of his saddle for dear life. He snorted a bit in protest but ultimately obeyed, lifting the heavy bags tied to his saddle into the air as he struck a dramatic pose with his front legs. Fiera couldn't help but smile into his back as the audience murmured, hopefully impressed.
