During Ashe's browsing, he started to feel a pull. It was a thrumming energy that he recognized instantly by now, it had happened to him so many times. Usually it was in the mines, but sometimes it was here, because there was a special kind of crystal that could only be found here. If you asked Ashe, chaos should be this place's element, but if you asked reality, it was Hollow magic that didn't have any real alignment. And he supposed that made sense, but the Common Language missed a good chance at naming things, if you asked him. He closed his eyes and tried to focus. Not listening to the Vulticus and the robot play - though there were more yips and woofs and the sounds of feet on the tile right now - and not listening to the deafening silence or the mice scrambling around in his pocket. Focus. Clear his mind of most things. Then he felt it, the tug, and he knew the direction to go to.

Without opening his eyes, he made his move, and he was quick enough about it that Raven stopped playing to glance at him and see what he was up to; but Ashe didn't see that either. He was too busy, arms outstretched in case he ran into something, searching for the crystal. There was magic here amongst all of this sciencey stuff, and he was keen on finding it. He edged this way and that, aligning himself - and he felt it really strong right in front of him! He opened his eyes and saw it, right there, hidden under a glass dome. It was seated on a pedestal, as if it was being studied.
Raven saw that Ashe was okay, he was just being Ashe's normal weird self, and he turned his attention back to the robot. Together, they had stopped playing for now and started exploring the room, much like their human counterpart. The Robot dog couldn't have much interest in here, surely? Since it lived here.

But Raven was new to everything in this building so it was an exciting time for him! He wandered around, occasionally stepping over the rotbot pup that wanted to both follow him and strut his own path - and the room wasn't that huge to begin with, made even smaller by Raven's bulk.
Ashe meanwhile was lifting the top of the dome carefully. Odd that something so valuable would just be left out in the open like this without any alarms sounding. But so far, so good, and Ashe set the dome aside. He reached over carefully and touched the crystal; he felt nothing except the excited hum of hidden magic that was the case with all crystals. He stroked it experimentally, making sure it wouldn't set off anything when he moved it, then he wrapped his fingers around the smooth glass-like surface and gave a tug. It came free with ease and was sitting harmlessly in his hand before he knew it. It felt good to hold crystals, to hold magic, and this was no exception.

Ashe waited, and waited some more, but he didn't see anything happen, didn't hear anything happening, and didn't feel anything happening. Besides the thrill of finding a crystal like this making his heart pound faster with excitement! He tried to relax, and slid the crystal into an interior pocket of his jacket for super safe keeping. He decided to keep looking, now that the distracting thrum of magic was secure and not calling to him. He could still feel it, but it was more of a satisfaction. He glanced around, wondering where to start next, and spotted something that looked really interesting. It looked like a blobby thing floating, but it felt colder as Ashe got to it. What in the hell...? He wanted it, bad. But how was he going to carry it?
Raven yawned widely. There was a distinct lack of interesting sights and smells in here, and he was growing bored of this room. He just hoped Ashe would hurry up and get really bored too.

He retracted his steps and grabbed the glass dome from the Crystal. Carrying it carefully, he tried to put it over this thing for added protection, and it seemed to work. He was careful with it as he tucked it under his arm, supporting it delicately. He'd just have to carry it and hope he didn't find anything else real big.
And just his luck, the next thing he ran into was a sunken in depression into the wall where a bookcase had been placed. He hadn't seen it before, it had looked like a flat wall, but now that he was closer he could definitely see it. And he instantly wanted any and all book on there! Shit. He didn't have enough arms...
Raven woofed lightly to his new friend and nodded toward Ashe, then started to make his way over to his human. The little robot followed after quickly, his feet clicking a rhythmic beat on the tile. When Raven reached Ashe, he sat quietly next to him.

Oh look there, there was an abandoned satchel - was that what it was? A large over the shoulder bag, that looked like it was made for carrying ten school books from class to class or something. It would suit Ashe's needs perfectly! He grabbed it up and stashed the cryo thing in there, then looked to see what books were left. It was slim pickings, actually, with a Chemistry book being the only one left in tact. He did find a scroll, and when he unrolled it he found it to be blueprints to make a gun, which looked hella fun and he definitely needed that! So into the stash it went.
Raven watched Ashe work, though the dust that flew from the shelf caused a tickle in his nose that just wouldn't go away. He made a face, and swiped at his nose, trying to get rid of the tickle before - oh no, too late! The sneeze grabbed him out of nowhere and shook his body. And a second one was coming.

"Bless you!" Ashe said to Raven automatically, it was only the polite thing to do even if he didn't understand the meaning of it. He took a moment to scratch behind his ears, which was actually a reach up instead of a reach down, before going back to work looking for goodies.
The Chem book looked boring, but who knew, maybe one day Ashe would need it! So he stashed that too. There was a lot of dust built up over here, and some books were completely destroyed. Ashe sifted through the remains, hoping to find more. Maybe intact pages to build something awesome. Nothing seemed to be particularly useful, however, until he unearthed a rather interesting looking book, with interesting green drawings of runes. It all looked very old, and the book itself even had a clasp that still worked... Ashe was impressed, and eager to get this thing home to read! He quickly tucked it away in the bag as well, and gestured to the only visible door in the room. "Want to go check the next one?" He asked Raven, who woofed.

On the way out of the room, Ashe saw something on the ground. It glinted in the light and that was the only reason it even caught his attention, so focused as he was on the next adventure waiting for him! He had Raven right next to him, and the little robot pup following behind them, and his bag that was getting heavier with every cool thig he found... He stooped down to grab the shiny coin and he pocketed it with the others. Standing back up, he took the last few strides to reach the door, then he grabbed the handle and twisted, pushing it open. The door swung open with a soft hiss, almost like a swish, as if the hinges were of air instead of metal. He was surprised at the odd sound, but it reminded him of the doors doctors burst through, that could open in either direction and made no squeaky sounds either.
The trio made their way inside and looked around.

This was a darker room, with rougher tile that Raven could stand on easily, and some of the lights were busted, so it had an eerie vibe to it. Ashe took a step in, then another, his eyes adjusting from the super bright room they just left, to the new one. He felt a chill at the same time Raven let out a snarl and bolted past him, shoving Ashe to the side in his haste to get between his master and the danger. He didn't attack just yet, just raised his hackles and showed his fangs to the dragon, warning it to not hurt Ashe. He didn't care about the coins it was guarding; but Ashe did. The man was already trying to calculate how to get Raven to distract him long enough that he could swipe those coins... Focus, Ashe, there was a robot dragon staring you down from the darkness with glowing red eyes, and a mask and gloves that had probably belonged to its former master strewn about next to it.
"Nice dragon..." Ashe murmured, taking another step forward, hands up, to see what it would do next. Was it aggressive? Or simply a passive guardian?

The dragon snarled a little and took a step forward, guarding the items it had wrested from it's previous master. He had not been worthy, what made this man feel any differently, it wondered? Tilting it's head, it paid no mind to the Vulticus in front of it, only the man.

Raven stood his guard, steadfast and loyal, not about to let the dragon near Ashe. Even as the man moved forward, he tried to go, too, though Ashe placed a hand on his shoulder and asked him to stay put. The man sensed the challenge in the dragon's demeanor, and his pride wouldn't let Raven beat it into submission so they could simply drag it home. Standing next to the Vulticus now, and facing the dragon, he thought about his options. Maybe he could show him his own coin collection, show him how much better at collecting Ashe was than the dragon? Maybe Ashe could use his magic to impress the dragon; but would that impress, or enrage? The dragon was a beast of metal, and that would be using magic on a manmade object, essentially. How to intimidate, or impress, or earn the respect of something like this?
Ashe decided to go with the first option and see where that got him. He might advance through the others, depending on how this went. So he whipped out his seven coins to compare to the beast's four. "I have more in my collection, Dragon!" Ashe declared, standing firm.

A snort escaped it and it took it's paw off of the coins for a moment before stamping back onto them and growling a challenge. If the man could best it, then the coins were his, fair and square. But it motioned towards the man's coins, it would get them if he lost... Though what game could they play? It swung it's head over to the Vulticus, a twinkle in it's eyes.

Was that thing... Amused? Not impressed by Ashe's stash? Ashe considered this, was he really going to make a bet with this dragon? As unfair as it would be, too, considering he had more coins to lose than the dragon did. His pride said don't worry about it, he could easily beat the dragon. Even if the dragon won, surely Raven could do something and knock it out, then they could drag it and the coins home. Reassured by these thoughts, Ashe squared up, hands on his hips. "Challenge accepted!" Ashe declared. "I don't know what kind of game robots play! But count us in!" He was a little concerned when the beast swung his head around to look at the Vulticus; Raven growled back at it, seeing its eyes settle on him. He didn't trust it, that much was obvious. Battle? Speed? What could it want from them? He reached over and scratched Raven's chest reassuringly. They had this, as a team!
From behind them came the mechanical yipping of the robotic puppy from earlier. It had obviously just now sensed the threat, and didn't want to let best friend Raven face it alone!

The dragon barked into the air and then lowered it's head at the Vulticus. It charged toward him and snarled at the same time, whichever one veered off first would lose, that much was clear! Whichever one was braver would win all the coins, and the man would be left with none of them, it figured!
