It seemed like Fiera had put on Skyler’s debutante just a couple days ago, even though she knew it had been longer. In comparison with the white and yellow houluh, Dayo’s training had been over in a flash. The pup sat at her feet obediently, keenly paying attention to the inhabitants of the houluh hall as they walked by as Fiera filled out his paperwork. The sepia toned houluh had proven to be a very fast learner, and Fiera had taught him some tricks that she had never taught... well, any of her pets before. Needless to say, there was no doubt in her mind that he would do well. “There we go.” Fiera said, passing the paperwork back over the counter. “Breezy Days Of Yore, a patronne otherwise known as Dayo.” She said with a nod. Now that that was all sorted, Dayo’s debutante could finally begin.

Fiera beheld the audience and judges as she spread her arms before them, cloaked in a sparkling dress. “Ladies and gentlemen, a pleasure as always!” She called out to them, her eyes scanning carefully. “Behold- Breezy Days of Yore!” She said, flinging her hand behind her. Dayo perked up from his position just offstage after hearing his name called. “Dayo, come!” Fiera ordered and just as she hoped, her houluh came running over from backstage, his ears flowing in the wind. He skidded to a stop in front of her and looked up expectantly. “Now Dayo, sit!” She commanded, and the houluh immediately obeyed, plopping to the ground. “Lay down...” She followed up, and he sunk even lower. Perfect- she knew the judges liked immediate obedience. Then, she held up a stuff toy so the audience could see it, holding it in a gloved hand. She waved it in front of Dayo. “Now Dayo... bite!” She ordered. Quick as a flash, the houluh lunged forward, digging his teeth in it. They wrestled back and forth for a moment before a loud ripping sound came from the toy and as she finally pulled it away it was obvious that he had ripped a large hash in it. “Behold, the obedience and strength of Days of Yore!” Fiera said, giving the audience a final bow.

It had been a while since Fiera had last brought one of her houluh in for a debutante show, but she was more than sure that Twinkle was ready by now. If only she could convince everyone else of that. The houluh wasn't exactly setting a good example right now, yanking at his leash while she attempted to fill out the paperwork for him. She had dressed him up to the nines in an attempt to impress. His collar was bedazzled and his fur had been brushed to gleaming, but it looked like he was trying to destroy it all as quickly as possible based on how he was rolling around the contest hall floor right now. He didn't seem to be garnering entirely negative attention however, as she heard quite a few "Aw, cute."s from passers by. Still, she filled out his debutante papers as quickly as possible before he could go completely off the rails.

Fiera and Twinkle were ushered to the contest hall floor much more quickly than the humanish was expecting, though it was a little bit of a relief to be able to get this all done so quickly. "You ready, Twinkle?" She said, turning to her houluh. He yapped once as if giving her clearance before they stepped out onto the contest hall floor. "Hello there, ladies and gentlemen. I'd like to introduce to you all- Twinkle Twinkle, Little Bat!" She said, gesturing grandly at Twinkle. He barked once at the crowd before Fiera walked forward, casting a glance back at Twinkle. "Follow, Twinkle." She said, and the houluh was more than happy to trot along after her.
When they were close enough to the audience, she decided to show off his repetoire of tricks. "Twinkle, sit." She said, for him to quickly obey, watching her carefully. "Okay now lay down." The rest of his limbs hit the floor. Then, she slipped her secret weapon out of her back pocket- a rubber ball. Twinkle's ears immediately perked up. "Now- catch!" She said, tossing it behind him. The houluh was off like a flash, dashing after the ball and snatching it out of the air before it hit the ground. The crowd murmured in approval- Fiera was pretty sure that was all they needed to see.

Fiera had finally finished Oasis's training. She wasn't sure it was ever going to be done for a while, there. She kept bringing the houluh out to play or go on an adventure, but she never bothered training her anything until recently. Now however, she was a houluh that Fiera could be proud of, Fiera thought as she filled out the paperwork for her debutante. Even with dozens of people walking by the juvenile houluh, now nearly grown, didn't bother glancing at any of them. Instead she just kept her focus on Fiera and stayed politely sat next to her. It didn't take long for Fiera to finish out the paperwork- she was well practiced at it by now. As she slid it back across the counter Oasis stood up, as if realizing it was time to go. "Ready then?" Fiera said, jiggling her leash. "Well, let's go get it done."

Fiera got off to an action packed start with Oasis's debut, not letting up for a second. She leapt out into the arena dramatically, waving to the audience. "Hello again! Introducing- Breezy's Desert Oasis Dreaming!" Then, as the audience clapped politely, she whipped around. "Oasis, follow!" She called and the houluh ran out to her, trotting in her footsteps. When they got to the center of the field, Fiera changed tactics a bit. "Alright, now... sit!" She said. The houluh obeyed instantly, looking up at her. Then, she held up a ball, making Oasis's ears perk up. "You want it? Then... catch!" She said, and threw it behind her. The matronne leapt up and was off like a shot after it. She sprinted to catch up and then leapt into the air, snatching it between her jaws. She landed and looked at Fiera for approval, panting. Fiera applauded, and to her relief the audience did too- it looked like that would be enough. (Oasis uses follow, sit, and catch.) |

Penny seemed quite eager to get started with her debutante show, yanking at the leash as Fiera walked into the contest hall. "Penny, slow down!" The humanish hissed under her breath, not wanting to make a bad impression on any judges that might be wandering about. She wasn't sure how much attention they'd be paying to young houluh in the lobby, but it never hurt to be careful. Fiera finally got Penny to sit and wait as she collected the paperwork for her. The houluh raised her ears at any little sound, clearly enjoying being in such a new and interesting place. It would only get more fun for her, Fiera thought as she scribble in names and birth dates. The debutante show was the culmination of a houluh's training. Penny would probably be thrilled to show off all of the tricks that Fiera had spent months teaching her.

Sure enough, Penny was practically chomping at the bit as they walked into the arena. "Penny, sit." She said, holding up a finger before the houluh sat down, looking up expectantly at Fiera. "Good girl, now stay." She said, and walked off to address the crowd. Fiera waved to the audience- a little paltry today, but that helped to take the pressure off a bit. "Hello everyone! Presenting the latest from Breezy Daze Kennel- Copper Cladded Cad!" She said, smiling greatly at polite applause. Then, she turned to Penny. "Ok Penny- come!" She said, and the houluh came bounding over, skidding to a stop at Fiera's feet. "Good girl!" She said, petting Penny such that her ears flopped around her head. "Behold, her beautiful coat and fine conformation! A gorgeous houluh, perfect for the record books." She said with a wink. It wasn't the fanciest debutante she had ever put on, but hopefully it would be enough.
