Azarius was taken aback to find himself hissed at, and backed away a step for a moment. He hadn't expected that - but then, he had been raised in a family descended from a Nanaiyesh, and all his immediate family members were spoken. He knew that there were Draconics who weren't, of course he knew, but it was just that he didn't often deal with them before. His mother thought they weren't suitable candidates for mating alliances, and so...
... But none of that mattered if there was a fellow Draconic in need!
"Miss, if you could stop--" he said, and then he finally saw what was the problem. "Ah. Ouch." Wincing in sympathy, he wracked his brain for a solution. He took stock of her coloring, and thought of one of his own children, and said, "Miss, if you could just breathe for a moment... Try doing it again, whatever you were doing before?"

If she weren't in so much pain, the timid back up of the male before her would've been a bit of an interest. What, had he not heard a hiss before from something about his size? At least it hadn't scared the cowardly one away yet. Well, he wasn't a coward, was he? Granted, she'd seen him freeze up briefly when the scream escaped her. Just briefly. The male finally seemed to be understanding her PAINFUL problem now. Oh yes, just NOW realize that this one in need is STUCK with her TAIL in the WALL. Seemed to be sizing her up, maybe? From what she remembered briefly of hatchhood, her father had the ability to drift through anything he wanted, but it took concentration for him to actually remain 'thereal'. A complete opposite of her own problem. But that was the male's idea now, to do this again? It is quite difficult to breathe deeply when stabbing pains run through your spine, but she tried. Focus on the task of freeing her tail... The darkness seems to grow deeper as her physical opacity lessens, and the tail finally comes free. The spectacle breaks, and she finds herself flat on the stone, a near foot long dead-point between the entry and exit points of her tail. OW.

There wasn't, unfortunately, very much Azarius could do for this poor Draconic than to talk her through it. His heart went out to her, really it did, and if he could have helped - briefly he considered smashing the rock himself, but he didn't know if he had the strength for it, and he also didn't know if that would do more harm than good.
But then she seemed to manage to compose herself just enough to manage, and her tail came free, if looking rather worse for wear. "There, that's better now, isn't it?" he said, speaking as soothingly as he could. "How are you feeling? Does it still hurt very much?" He considered asking if she wanted help to a healer, but taking her abilities into consideration, it occurred to him that maybe she could manage it on her own. But it didn't seem like a polite thing to ask either, in case she couldn't.

If there was one thing in point for this male, concerned as he appeared and acted, it was that he wasn't trying to physically touch her. It would actually do more harm then good, because the ability she'd displayed (more on accident then purpose) was raw; unrefined, and prone to... startlement. More then once of her hatchhood memory of being talked out of being partway in a rock because of being startled and the ability going off. Being 'boo'd from behind and having her foot sink right through the floor. Unlike her parent of note, she had no issue with remaining on the physical plane of 'there'ness. Was she all right? Being in one piece never hurt. Though her tail felt very segmented presently. Craning her neck over the offending limb, the makiyan examined her tail. It appeared to be rather gray in the middle, like the blood had stopped flowing between entry and exit point. Did it hurt? Not anymore at least for being steadfastly attached to the wall. Her head shook briefly of no. The tail was dragged forth with her teeth so she could reach it with her front paws, to knead and massage life back into the limb that would dictate if she walked away from this or not.

Seeing the stranger Draconic calming down, Azarius felt more at ease too. The way she had been looking before, he didn't know how serious her injury was - or, for that matter, her mental state. Being physically hale was well and good, but if she had been traumatized, that was a problem all its own. "Well, I'm glad you have it out! That sure was a fright, wasn't it!" He did his best to sound cheerful; it was one of his more redeeming qualities, in a family that had mostly been sharp or gloomy or taciturn individuals, and by now he had grown so used to the role that it was hard for him to shake it.
That she shook her head was reassuring too; he hadn't known how much of his speech she had understood before this. "Do you need any help? Could I walk you home, maybe? It is pretty late."

Less of a fright then a previous time, but it was her own lack of paying attention. The aftermath wasn't nearly as bad. She remembered being told that if she walked through rock not al the way through, it could mean the loss of a limb. The male seemed to be forcing a cheerful attitude sound. Maybe? She listened to his words, but didn't add anything to the one sided conversation. Keeping her attention on the kneading of her tail. Gradually, the feeling of pins and needles as when one slept on their front legs pinned down, it tingled and ached. As the blood flow started up again, the coloring of the feeling and the coloring of her tail started to ungray itself. No, she needed no help until she could figure out if she could walk or not. Shaking her head no slowly. He was willing to walk her home? ...where was home now.? Opinionatedly, she was more active at night then in the day time.

She shook her head no to 'do you need any help', but not to his walking her home... But she also didn't make any move to indicate where they might go, and it wasn't as if she had nodded her head yes either. In fact, Azarius was beginning to wonder if she was maybe just shaking her head to clear it, and not actually in response to anything he had said. After all, it wasn't as if she had given him a verbal reply.
... Maybe she was mute. Maybe he was being insensitive. It was all a bit hard to say, really.
"Say, what's your name?" he ventured, still doing his best to sound friendly. Her tail seemed to be looking better, so now seemed as good a time for him to ask as any. "I'm Azarius. I live with a clan about... Oh, maybe north of here?" At least he thought it was north, anyway.

Ever since she left the cave, communication with other dragons was not something that they macchiato needed to worry about. She just… Stop talking. However there was something that she could do, they could bridge the gap. The shadow started to coalesce around her clogged paws, sharpening the claws into something dark but with a little luminescence at the end. She started scratching the rock in front of her between them. It looks like random lines at first just little markings cars off a rock, but as she was scratching the rocks, it seems that some sort of language was being written. Or at least letters. N, a, T, a, R, a, J. Was this a name? It was glowing... just a bit. She pointed out the assortment of letters and then it herself. It must be her name, right? And his name was azarius? As the shadows dissipated from her claws and paws, the makiyan went back to kneading life into her tail.

Azarius didn't know what the other Makiyan was doing at first. He recognized some of her shadow manipulation as being in line with what he and his brother could do, but the light was foreign to him. But as he watched, she began scratching runes into the rocks; and the longer he stared at them, the more they began to look like letters he recognized. Tilting his head, he tried to sound out the word. It wasn't one he recognized, but... "Nata...raj? Am I pronouncing that right?" He saw her indicating herself - a name, he realized. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Nataraj! Even if the circumstances are a little..." He shrugged his shoulders, trailing off. These were hardly the circumstances for a pleasant introduction, as his mother might have put it, but all the same.
"Are you, er, mute by any chance?" he ventured. "I'm afraid I don't know sign language..."

Coincidentally, neither did she know sign language. Her marks were clumsy but legible and a bit large. What that wouldnt do. The shadows gathered again around her written word as the pale makiyan exhaled into the darkness. It smelled sweet, like sweet dark berries at peak season. When the shadows disappeared, so did the scratched out name. Again, she be mons the shadows to gather at clawpoints to scrape out another message. Not mute... forgot how to talk, long time alone. Letting the male, the azarius read it before doing the same thingof wiping the rock? How was she doing that? She wasn’t patient enough to scratch out letter by letter, so her runeic messages were short and brief. Yes, said right. Repeating the gesture of kneading the slowly living portion of her tail. He lived close? North? What is clan like? She didn’t make a noise wxcept foe the scratching and the kneading of her claws. But he smelled... interesting. Like water?

Azarius watched with fascination as she carved letters out of the rock, erased them with some sort of magic, then did it again. There was a part of him that was filled with a childlike excitement at communicating this way. It was a little cumbersome, but also a little whimsical, and that appealed to him immensely.
"Oh! Good, I'm glad I got that right. It's always kind of uncomfortable when people don't say your name right, isn't it?" He thought her comment about forgetting how to talk was a little sad, but that wasn't something you said out loud, of course.
When she asked about his clan, he laughed. "How about this? I'll walk you home and tell you about it on the way." He let her lead the way, then fell into step beside her, chatting as he went. "Hmm, well, first there's our clan leader... His name is Marric, and he's a veeeeery old Nanaiyesh, you see..."
