The maitenence appeared to be backed up on other angry requests on the same floor of water issues, and so my own request of repair is very low on their priority. Instead, a large bottle that reminded of a barrel was wheeled in, put on top of a plastic machine, and I'm instructed to press a button for water. When empty, to call for another. To keep that amount of water for the larger lots, how did the kennels manage. Kevin's words about money dispursement made sense now, later down the road now. Until I watched the sun... literally drop out of the sky beyond the horizon. Just, gone. Fastest sunset ever. Uh... uh... "I warned you..." came a sing song voice, almost drifting along on the winds. "Not to be here...past the sun going down..." I saw the servant clad boy along the edges of the fence, watching with those gleaming red eyes. Why did that give me such a willies. sept 14 (9:30pm sept 30th here still)

I had no reasoning of why I shouldn't be here, beside this creepy child's forewarning... It was afternoon, there is still time before the sun goes down, I told his shifting figure. Wait. Shifting? He giggles a bit, but the laugh, where once high and childish, changes...in sound. Its deeper as the laugh continues. Until it sounds like something much deeper is chuckling at a funny joke. "Clearly you are not aware of why this estate is open to visitors so... casually." the voice replies. I can't see him anymore, this child. The darkness that folds out from the dropped out sun... and I don't see the moon yet. Our vision is totally dark, and I can feel Harmony squeak and hide in my nearly furless collar again. "Did you sense it as you walked through the gate?" No...? I felt nothing., I answer, confused. My throat rough, and I really wasn't having this. sept 15 +1

I couldn't see him, but by tone, it sounds that whomever speaks now is...frustrated. A bit thrown by something. What was I supposed to notice. That a sign written in animalfolk language is posted outside a clearly human estate?, I ask the darkness. The darkness, or whatever is there... sighs. Pulsing the foglike darkness that presses in upon us. Apprehension tugs on me as I take a step backwards. A leaf crunches under my shoe. But its not the crunch you hear in fall. This is a... dead. burnt. crunch. Looking down, the leaves have taken a very dead and crunchy appearance, like right before winter's frost. A cold drop splashes down into my mind. Ears turning to radar, my eyes glance back and forth at the darkness pressing around me. Something is making leaves crunch right outside my line of sight and no I don't have night vision. Foxes, silver foxes, are diurnal. We (like panilla) like sleeping at night. October 1

"No. The sign is...meant to be seen like the well on the property. It will read to you as your most native tongue. For you, fox, it is your own language of the animalfolk." the figure remarks, voice moving just outside my line of sight. I can hear something creaking heavily nearby. A heavy weight put down on something wooden. "No. Most people, most... humanoid Pethians, are very keenly sensitive to the changes of their surrounding environment. That isn't effected by seasonal shift." I can understand you... but you don't speak Laiyan..., unsureness clings to me, and its there in my rough voice. What are you talking about. "Magic, you foolish fox. Magic." the figure finally speaks sharply. "A very powerful reality rift is present on that gate. Per the caster's 'instructions', each month of the calendar year is a special...'theme' to this estate. Humanoids come with their animals and seek to... find items. Scavengers." 2

I can hear the sound of someone or something snapping their fingers, and the darkness...disperses. This is not the same area we walked into, Harmony and I. She's still hiding, and rightly so. My fur is on end, and my tail fluffs out more considerably then normal. The entire area has...died. The beautiful golden leaved apple tree has bent over, leaves dropping as I watch it, the wood gray and twisted. Startled, I look down at my golden apple, partially eaten in my hand. Its... still an apple, and not rotting out of my paw, thank goodness. Around me, the harvest season has turned into a dead and dying landscape of plants, rocks, and... oh my the house. The giant human house is falling apart. Broken windows, peeling paint, bent and broken supports on the front... and was part of the roof leaning inwards? "I did warn you not to be here past the sun's setting, fox. You didn't listen." 3

The child is not anywhere to be seen. Instead, wearing more striking clothing, more cloakish if a word had to be given about it, the figure before me is about my own height, ears excluded. The 'cloak' drapes over his shoulders, but exposes the hands, which wear no gloves and have black tipped fingers?! Wait... His face reminds me of a cat and a crow at the same time, sharp featured and extremely clever with gleaming dark red eyes. Following my vision downwards, I see shining black boots, with a sharp heeled point. Didn't female humans wear tall shoes? He fiddles with something on his right hand a bit with a smirk. I listened, but- "And all you have is an excuse. The excuse of ignorance, of being uneducated on timeliness and of being diurnally wound." the human? man responded to my words sharply. Although his face never turned stormy, we felt it, Harmony and I. She's stiff as a board against my neck. 4

What are you... you aren't a normal servant. My instincts are screaming. This is not a normal human. He's much too... overbearing. Feels more like I'm facing down a raptor then anything else, but there are no wings on this human. Nor claws. "I am simply one hell of a servant for my master, fox." he smiles with an enigma that probably charms every human in sight. My hackles spike and a growl escapes me. I don't like this human. Not at all. Worse then Padraic of the 'city hall'. If I run... I might be eaten. But if I fight, I might be eaten faster. "Stop growling, fool. I have no intention of eating the likes of a fox and his pet cat." Panilla are not cats, they eat bamboo., I correct him, trying to sound stern. to stand up for myself. I'm not afraid... I'm petrified. Bark! Bark bark! Harmony barks at my neckside, peeking out and seeing the birdish, cattish person. 5 +1

"Or perhaps I am the master. Did you consider that?" the man asks me with the smile still on his face. He walks past me, his cloak billowing a bit as a small and smelly wind blows through the path of the mansion, away from the gate. Glancing back over his shoulder with that smile... I swear that smile is fanged. Fairy stories of blood sucking nightwalking humanlike creatures that ate bad cubs and unwary animals and people at night during the time of spooks and nightfall flood my head. Vampires. But to my surprise and shock, he cracks up laughing. Cackling. "I can't do this. How does he keep a straight faced smile like this ALL THE TIME." ....? The figure turns around hard and gives a mocking point right at me. "You are a terrible audience. You are to be awed. Afraid. STUNNED. Hell, even charmed. Anything?" I shake my head no... and Harmony presses herself down against my shoulder, trying to blend in. 6

"no? seriously? no?!" the man puts a dramatic ungloved hand to his face. "Killjoy." the red eye looks at me through the fingers. Some sort of shadows coalece around the man again and shifts his appearance some. The man sighs heavily as the shadows cloud up, then dissipate. The clothes are the same, except the face is not. My instincts force me to take a step back into a mild stance. Looks solid enough that if I have to, I'd kick it and run. Harmony nor I are not cut out for fighting shadow vampires. The black hair is red now, still untied and in disarray around the face. Still pointed features but the smile is outright TOOTHY now. All points, like a shark or a pissed off Badger. The red eyes are gleaming but the angle is different. Was this still the same ...vampire? Are you a vampire, I ask stupidly. 7

"A vampire? Do I look like a vampire to you?!" the figure turns towards me and points at himself, still pale with pointed fingers tipped in black. I nod. A grim frown crosses the pointed features and his shoulders drop a bit. "My first attempt at cosplay and someone calls me a damn vampire. A VAMPIRE of all things." he starts talking to nobody... "You." pointing at me. "You have no imagination. And no magical senses. What are you, an animal?" My hackles bristle. Yes, in fact, I am an animalfolk. I am a fox, in case you couldn't tell., I point out. These humans and vampires really had some issue with foxes, didn't they. "For your information, you uneducated fox pup, I am cosplaying as a DEMON, not a ***** vampire." the toothy redhead towers over me as he shouts. Harmony can't be seen, but I Can feel her quick heartbeat. We need to get away from this crazy vampire. 8

There is no difference, both are bloodsucking monsters of the night., I tell him. "You really... th...they are completely different! The planes. Didn't that give you hint? Vampires aren't on PLANES, they are in coffins and come out solely at night." the redhead, clearly flustered by my own views, is growing more frustrated. "There is TOO a difference. And I will teach you now, the difference." he starts to explain. This is the time to take off, as I turn tail and sprint away down the path back towards the gate. This wasn't a place to be. The place has died, its dangeorus and throwing me for my lack of readiness. This place was an unnecessary risk, and those things I try to avoid. "How dare you run! rude fox! come back here so I can educate you!" the redhead vampire behind me screams to the night. Nope. Tugging my shirt collar closer, making sure I had hold of Harmony, we run. Where is that gate?! 9

The gate... where was the gate. Wasn't it on the left side as we were coming in and turned on right on the path? The apple tree, I had to find the beautiful golden leaved apple tree... but it was dead now. Dead, twisted and bent in agony, like something had broken it from within. I had to find that tree. The shrill angry echo of the vampire spurs me to run faster. Someplace to hide, we had to escape from that thing. That figure. Which was was out?! No sign of the tree either. But theres bushes! Hoping that Harmony would be gripping on tight, I pounce into the bushes and land on my hands and knees. Thorns scratch thru my exposed fur, but as I crouch in, theres quite a bit of my fur that caught on the bush branches when jumping in. Stupid fur some days. Wheek? WHEEK WHEEK! Shhh, I have to hush her. Harmony's starting to freak out on me. 10 +1

"Huh. I'm surprised." I turn around, surprised. Crouching outside the bush is the black haired child who had given me the things right at the gate, his knees dirty from garden work, gloveless pale hands hanging free while draped over said knees. The fingers are still tipped in black. His expression is... amused. Like a cat who caught a mouse just by having it walk by too closely. "Broke his disguise that easily." ..his disguise?, I can't help croaking a bit. The sprint made my throat hurt worse. Putting a paw on Harmony, who started to make alarm noises again. Trying to shush her. Rodent alarm clock maybe. "Yes. That...-" the boy drew a deep breath, his expression turning a bit stony briefly before exhaling a grumbling sigh. "person... seeks to make my life difficult." Questions are sprouting out my head like weeds on a path. Who is that man, why was he dressing like you, how did you swap places,... WHEEK WHEEK WHEEK WHEEK!!!! start accept scary sights 11

How...did you swap places...?, I finally manage to ask, before my throat forces me to cough into my elbow. "We didn't. He saw you after we parted, and used that meeting to his advantage to get close and then reveal himself, disguised as an adult me." The boy pinches the bridge between nose and forehead briefly. "And now he's after you." The hunting cry of "Let me edcucate youuuuu" came on the wind... and I had to get closer to the ground, "calm down fox, that idiot redhead is much too oversighted to find you in a bush, if you can keep quiet. Take this." he passes over a small waterskin. "Its water, but might taste a bit off." Who cares, its water. I take several deep sips. It helps my throat, but doesn't do anything to calm down Harmony, who if I'm not careful might run on me. She seems terrified of the boy for some reason. Why? 12
