The playing between the two (even separated between the two plastic critter carriers) orbaru escalates a bit after Renathan leans back up from coaxing little Snickerdoodle from her shyness. She seems quite interested in Yoshi, and even eventually culminates that curiosity into sticking her paw out of the hole on the side of the blue critter carrier as far as it would go in order to try to touch Yoshi, who was doing the same. It was all quite adorable. Renathan in the meanwhile had found himself a different magazine- and sadly that one was even more droll than the one he had just been checking out before. This one was some sort of magazine about the uses for different pet species that most people wouldn't think about.
Whenever the magazine suggested malii as a creature for the pit; Renathan got a bit sick to his stomach and dizzy and he put the magazine down. He certainly didn't feel like it was a good idea to throw such a small and physically frail animal into the pit. Magic or no. He grimaced, just thinking about Shy Guy again. He hadn't thought about him in some time now, and he really didn't need to be now.

It wasn't long after that (or maybe it was, and he had another one of those moments where he was too deep in thought to think about anything else or be aware of his surroundings- a frequentish occurrence when thinking about the several ill-fated pit attempts) that a person entered the room, with two orbaru with them. One of them was brown, and the other a shadow. They were quite cute- and so-called version ones at that. He opens his mouth and then allows a grin to pass. The person fills out the final forms required, and then they left with the pair of cute orbaru. Renathan was ready to get these orbaru to the back and hopefully get them finished up very soon, and it looked like there was no one else before them in line. He really hadn't had all that long of a wait, either.
Soon enough, a number was called, and Renathan checked his slip of paper out of habit to make sure that the number matched. Of course it would, he was the only person here! He chuckles to himself, already trying to push the negative thoughts away, and then he bent down to pick up both of the creature carriers.

The Russet Mammalian tucks a critter carrier a piece under each arm; with Yoshi beneath his stronger arm because the orbaru was so much heavier than the other one that it would have made him lopsided if he did not take extra care. He nearly trips over his twin tails as he sometimes does, having forgotten to un-wind them from around his ankles because he had been sitting. After looking a little funky (but making sure that his orbaru were still okay and hadn't been jostled too much) he follows the attendant out and to the rooms in the back. There was one with the door propped open, and it was quite obvious that this was the one he was meant to go to. The rooms had to be cleaned between the patrons (understandably, since some of the creatures could be quite gross, drooling and such) and this one had obviously been cleaned. He ducks his head beneath the doorframe, thanks the attendant, and then shuts the door behind himself (releasing the propping mechanism with his foot). He sits both of the carriers down gently again, and then flicks open the gates for the two. He was less afraid that they wouldn't get along now.

Renathan was already fairly anxious to get back to his shop. He had thought that he needed a low-stress activity to keep him from being to himself as much, but now he was just anxious and fairly high-key bored. Perhaps he would have kept the orbaru away from one another a bit longer normally, but his mood was pretty well ruined for the day by his little stint with worrying about old wounds earlier. He hoped that eventually, his stress would fade with time; but it only ever seemed to compound. Yeah, he really needed to be in his shop, beating out another metal rung for a barrel pet bed right now, and not sitting mindlessly in this horrible blank room with only just him there. He frowns beneath the mask, and fiddles with a magazine but very pointedly doesn't start to read it right away. He hadn't even looked at it to see if he would find any of its contents interesting.
Away from him, the two orbaru slowly begin to exit their crates in their own way. Yoshi's main concern is that he seems tired (all sloth orbaru are fairly lethargic), but he still manages to get out first.

The other orbaru was much slower to get out. Snickerdoodle was nothing if not a shy little sweetie (Renathan's own words in this case) and she didn't want to be the first to venture out. She wanted to be able to watch Yoshi for a moment while she sat in the safe corner of her critter crate. She watches him as he ambles around and around her own blue plastic pet crate until he flops boredly on a nearby carpet. He watches her with his pretty odd-colored eyes in little contented slits. Finally, the lavender-eyed female seems content to come out, so she slowly inches her away out of the critter crate, her long fur dragging the linoleum as she did. Finally, she drags up beside Yoshi on the carpet, and instead of flopping down, she began preening through her fur carefully with her tongue.
It was always behind closed doors that Renathan tended to get worse, and boy, did he get worse all in one fell swoop. He covers his face beneath his mask, and flops his twin tails down. It suddenly felt a little hot in the room, and it took him a moment to realize that his own antlers had lit at the tips.

It was always a bad sign whenever Renathan's antlers lit at the tips. It generally belied his true emotions of helplessness like nothing else. He really did feel that way quite suddenly some days. The slightest thing would bring it all back up and it would cascade over him like water. What he wouldn't give to have Auburn here, even though it would be even more trouble to keep her along with the Orbaru all happy, because she really helped him feel less like this. She really was the ice to his fire, balm for his wounds, in a way that he didn't think he'd ever get the chance to have again.
While he was having 'a moment', the Orbaru began playing. They played for about thirty minutes while Renathan mostly just sobbed in the corner with his magazine over his mask, and then soon enough Renathan was 'brought back around' whenever the bright eye-catching flash of Yoshi's tell-tale-tail caught his attention and brought him out of the half of his immense grief. Eventually, he manages to courage to get the orbaru pair back up into the critter carriers and go to the desk, where he filled out the remainder of the paperwork and then left rather unceremoniously, happy for his mask to hide the tear tracks on his cheek fur.
