Noa gave him a final set of commands, and for a moment, nothing happened… But then Avander opened his mouth, and a burst of what could only be described as pure light flowed out. This light illuminated him enough that the distortion around him was visible, a wavering shimmer not unlike heat haze over a hot road in summer. In this manner, Avander did one final circuit of the show ring, breathing his plume of light, before landing as a single spotlight shone down on him and Noa once more.
“Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed our little show,” Noa said, addressing the audience with a thin smile as Avander posed with his head held high. Noa was tired, but he’d dressed up for this, so he stayed just long enough to take a proper bow… Then, with a last snap of his fingers, he teleported both himself and Avander out of the ring.

It felt like there were more contesters this time than last time that she joined in on this particular one, but she can’t quite recall how many people did their entrée and showed off with the crowd. It probably might have been the getting her companion ready that she likely missed a couple of them, and no doubt this time as well when she occupied her time with brushing Saar’s thin fur, getting the fur to look almost shiny in the light as she repeatedly brushes spots where there might still be a bit of grass or sand. And with one as huge as this, it tends to take up a lot of her time. Still. She smiled in satisfaction when she is done with it, circling around him to look at every body part in order to make certain she isn’t missing a spot, even commanding him for a moment to lay down so she can inspect his back and only needing to adjust a little bit of the thin fur on his head. That he is resistant to the cold when having such a thin coat is still quite peculiar, but so long as it doesn’t bother Saar than the peculiarities won’t bother her either. Taking out of her backpack a starry cloak she covers Saar with it for a moment, the hood drawn down so it covers part of his face, the rest of the cloak looks on him more like a small cape that ends midway his back. Stepping back to look at him while he in return gazes up at her with mild interest, she finds it looks somewhat humoristic considering how the cloak doesn’t cover everything of him, she takes it off and places it back in her backpack but leaves the zipper open on that section.
Later, she can use it for later as a shock moment, but for now. “Saar Follow.” She calls out to her companion as she stores the brush in another section of her backpack and taking out from a box a small pocket pet that she stores in her coat while putting the box back in place, throwing it on her back gentle, and checking to see if in her coat pocket the vegetarian treats are still there, she moves her hand towards the open section of her bag, half grabbing the cloak before dropping it back in. Good, it is definitely easily within hand reach.
She walks to the entrance of the ring when she notices one of the contesters is ending theirs and leaving the ring with their companion. Pausing, she is quick to turn around and focus on Saar as he calmly walked behind her with his loud steps, sniffing the ground for a moment in mild interest. “Saar stay.” She calls out, seeing his ears perk up quickly before swiveling as if a fly just landed on it and he wants to get rid of it. Nodding in satisfaction when she sees he is listening, she makes her way to the center of the ring, smiling, even when she sees minor confusion on why she is alone. At least for now. Giving a small bow to the judges and crowd she says. “Hello I am Twilight, and today I want to do my entrée with Saar, an Thundrace Halfbreed.”

With a grin she turns around and calls out. “Saar come!” She calls out in confidence. With somewhat loud stomps Saar enters the ring, his size probably the only intimidating thing to see about him as his demeanor right now is rather quite mild while his focus is only on her, she sees his deadly tail swishes gently behind him while he gets closer to her. “Good boy, Saar.” She murmurs when he is within hand reach, scratching him under the chin for a single moment. “Sit!” She calls out as she takes a step back, away from him as his ears perk up and he sits down with a thump, tail flicking in interest as he stares at her. Nodding at his quick action she calls out again. “Lay down!” Ears swiveling to the side for just a moment, he lowers his front, head tilting slightly to the side. Good, she still has his attention. Taking out of her coat pocket some vegie treats she backs off a bit more before laying it on the ground. Noting Saar’s focus is going more to the treats then at her, it takes a few moments, but when she does nothing, he tries to stand up. “Saar no!” Only to freeze and lay down again, turning his attention to her with a snort, head thrown to the side in silent disagreement. Well, almost silent as he grunts a protest. Stifling a snort herself, she smiles. “Saar come!” She calls out, letting him stand up once more and make his way to her. Or rather. The treats still on the ground. (On Command: Name, Come, Sit, Lay Down, No) (Used Items: Kibble Bag Veggie)Twilight 0.3 Saar Lv 10.4, Ly 10.4

Allowing him to eat the treats as it only takes a small moment for him to gobble everything up, especially the small amount she dropped, she takes the moment to gentle grab the bug out of her coat pocket. Keeping it hidden in her hand from the judges and crowd, she waits only long enough for Saar to finish the treats that she is quick to take out with her empty hand her stary cloak with a flourish from her bag and stepping close to Saar’s still bowed head as he sniffs the ground for more treats. It easily lands on him, almost perfectly actually, she only needs to adjust the hood to cover his face for a single moment and drop the bug under it, its but pointing towards Saar’s mouth. “Saar follow!” She calls out quickly as she starts running to the bleachers and while they make a circle calls out. “Saar howl!” The stomping of Saar’s feet as he runs behind her feels impressive with how the ground gives slight tremors, but perhaps what is more impressive is when he throws his head back and just howls loud enough that above his nose a small blueish green flame gets spit out at the same time, the cloak still covers part of his head, but if one knows what to look for, it is very likely they may spot the butt end of the beetle she brought along for the ride. Smiling when she finishes the circle with Saar she heads for the middle while she hopes that the howl made him look quite intimidating as well in that moment, and with her not commanding another howl from Saar, he falls silent aside from his stomping feet when he follows right behind her. She's quite lucky he didn't startle from the sudden flames spouting so close to his eyes as well, it could have very well ruined the act if he had. “Saar Stay.” She calls out calmly, having him stop in the middle this way, she faces the judges and crowd, smile firmly in place. “I hope you enjoyed my entrée, as small as it might have been, because I certainly did.” Turning her head to look in Saar’s direction, she adds. “And so did he.” Before turning to face them again. “Have a wonderful day everyone.” Bowing to both the judges and crowd for a final time, she heads towards the exit, leaving Saar standing calmly only long enough till she reached it. “Saar follow!” Hopefully she made her point in that he can stay in place as upon hearing it, he turns towards her, ears perked up and making his way to her. The stomps of his feet this time less loud compared to when they ran a little in the circle. Petting him on his cheek when he gets close enough to touch, she notes that the bug is definitely still hiding under the cloak, probably closer to in between Saar’s ears after having scared it when she sees the unusual lump under the fabric. “C’mon, lets get you some more vegie treats over there and have your little buddy rest in his cage, yeah?” She murmurs softly while leading him off the stage. Knowing that soon another contender is going to want to make their entrée soon, she doubts she was the last one of them after all. Not with how many she has seen that registered for this. Time for another contest. Silver was fairly confident about their upcoming show, for once. Perhaps a bit of Kumoya’s energy had rubbed off on them, or maybe they just enjoyed spending time with her. They dutifully checked the items they brought with them while waiting for their time to enter the show ring. It was difficult for them not to fuss too much while they were awaiting their chance to take the stage. Waiting for the thing was way worse than actually doing the thing.
Kumoya could tell that Silver was feeling a bit unsettled, so she brushed against their side with her nose. “Oh, don’t worry,” Silver said, scratching her under the chin like she liked. “It’ll be our turn in no time.”
Just to make sure everything was perfect, Silver pulled out their brush and fiddled with the fur on Kumoya’s head a bit more. She normally loved the attention, but she was starting to get annoyed by how fussy they were being. She pushed past them forcefully, and at the same time, they were called to start their show.

“Ah, right, right,” they said to themselves, hastily shoving the brush back into their pocket. The time for fussing was over; it was time to take the stage.
For as confident as they were a moment ago, the anxiety began to settle in almost immediately once they realized they had to step out there where everyone can see them. Thankfully, Kumoya was already standing dutifully at their side, and knowing that she was there made them feel a bit calmer. Their breath still felt heavy in their chest, but ready or not, it was time for the show to start.
“Hello everyone,” Silver said as they stepped into view of the judges and the crowd. They waved cheerfully, causing a flurry of sparkles to rain down, landing gently on the floor before fading away.
“This is Kumoya,” they said, gesturing to the Malii who had followed them onto the stage. Upon hearing her name, the Malii watched them carefully with her eerily white eyes.

“Come here, Kumoya, so everyone can get a good look at you,” they instructed. She slipped in front of them, her attention focused on the subtle signal Silver was making with their hand. They pointed out exactly where they wanted her to go and she did so without really thinking about it. To anyone paying close enough attention, it was clear they were completely in control, but to an outsider it appeared perfectly natural.
“Kumoya, stay,” they said. She pretty much knew that’s what they wanted, but saying it aloud made the judges know that they were executing the command. That was the whole point of this thing, right?
She shifted her weight slightly, making her stance more natural and comfortable to hold. She twitched her tails slightly and flexed her wings, subtly showing off some of her most unique features. It was clear that she knew she was being watched, and that she liked the attention.

While everyone was fixated on what Kumoya was doing, Silver was already looking to the next part of the show. There was a bit of thread tied up for them, just as they had requested. The crew supporting the contests always did such a good job of making all the performances look seamless. They hastily tied a raindrop chime to the thread, hoping that everyone was still watching her and not what they were doing.
Once the charm was ready, Silver nodded at Kumoya, silently letting her know to be ready for another command. They tugged on a loose end of the thread, casting the raindrop chime into the sky, and at the same time they said, “Kumoya, show them your rainbow!”
The way she summoned the rainbow looked entirely effortless. She merely pointed her horn to the sky and suddenly a prismatic, sparkling light cascaded down. It shined through the gem-like drops of the charm, scattering bits of colorful light dancing on the floor and through the crowd.

While everyone else was no doubt distracted by the pretty lights, Kumoya took a step into the air. She stood upon the rainbow as if it were solid ground. She slowly climbed the rainbow until she was high in the air, looking smugly down at the audience.
Silver used this time to set up the next piece of the show. They pushed a large colorful beanbag into place and looked back up at Kumoya to make sure she was in the right place. Perfect, just like they knew she would be.
“Now, Kumoya,” Silver said, getting her attention. “It’s time to strike!”
They swiped their arm down toward the beanbag, mimicking the motion they expected her to take to get there. She crouched down like a housecat chasing a spider and flicked her tails. Suddenly she pounced, using her misty wings to guide her through the air. She lowered her horn and tucked in her legs, aiming herself like an arrow at the target.

Her horn pierced into the fabric of the beanbag just before her feet touched the ground. With her feet now beneath her, she flicked her head upward, cutting through the plush and throwing a flurry of fluff into the air. It would be a gruesome sight indeed if it weren’t just a toy.
“Good job, Kumoya,” Silver said. “Now, don’t, ah, you can’t stop now. You’ve got another one to take down. Use your gust!”
A cute purple wind chime hung from the stage, appearing there as if by magic while everyone was busy watching one of the other crazy things that were going on. Kumoya narrowed her eyes up at the chime and floated up into the sky. An invisible wind started to collect around her, evidenced only by her fur whipping wildly around and the faint sound of the chimes starting to rattle.
Once she collected enough wind, she forced it all forward at once, concentrating the chaotic gusts into one powerful blast. The chimes began to ring erratically, though they quickly succumbed to the force of the gust and snapped off their tether, falling into a tangled clump on the ground.

“Oh,” Silver said, dramatically flinching for effect. It was unclear whether they expected that to happen or not. Either way, they rolled straight into the next trick.
“My my, you seem pretty grumpy Kumoya,” they said. She was almost always grumpy, or at least that’s how strangers would probably characterize her.
“You know what cheers up a Raincloud Malii?” they asked. Maybe someone in the crowd would know the answer, and they could enjoy their moment of cleverness before the reveal.
“Kumoya, it’s time for the rain,” they said. They cast their eyes up to the sky, awaiting the downpour.
The Malii was more than happy to oblige, instantly summoning clouds over the stage and looking rather giddy as she did so. Her permanent scowl relaxed in such a way that it almost seemed like she was smiling. Plip. Plop. The rain started to fall on the stage in fat, slow drops before picking up speed. It ended in a contained drizzle, for even though she loved the rain, she knew better than to unleash a monsoon indoors.

Silver beamed at Kumoya, glad that they could show off all of her most interesting abilities. It was rare that everything she could do would fit into a show’s theme, so this somewhat themeless show was the perfect opportunity. Plus, she seemed pretty pleased with herself, especially given how much she loved the rain. Now all that remained was the finale.
“You’ve done a great job,” they said. “I think you’ve earned a treat.”
“.. but you’re going to have to go get it.”
As they said that, they took a bright pink candy, one of Kumoya’s favorite treats, and tossed it into a pool that had been sitting there unused for the rest of the show. Without a second thought, she energetically leaped after the treat and dove into the pool. What did she have to lose? Her fur was already wet anyway. She stayed under for a moment, but ultimately bobbed back up with a candy rested between her teeth.

"Thank you, everyone," Silver said. They turned to face the crowd and bowed their head. Their wet hair flopped into their face, making them look entirely undignified. Ah well, the show wasn't really about them. If they were impressed by Kumoya, that's the only thing that mattered.
"Come and take a bow," Silver whispered to Kumoya. She climbed awkwardly out of the pool and landed on the stage in front of them. She crunched into her candy then licked her paw as if she didn't have a care in the world.
Well, that was good enough, Silver thought to themselves. It wasn't like they had taught her to bow or anything. Just as they went to walk away, Kumoya abruptly started to shake the water out of her fur. She flicked her tails and tossed her head, sending water everywhere. They were already wet before that, but now they were completely soaked. Silver beamed as if they meant to do that all along and ushered Kumoya off stage with the promise of another candy. It wasn't perfect, but it was definitely their kind of show.

Emery's performance definitely wasn't going to be as flashy as everyone else's, but it would hopefully be better than the woman after her. To her eyes, she was polishing and cooing at... a rock. Still, there was work to be done. Ending the audience's anticipation, Emery walked out with Klik in her arms. The fossil didn't seem to mind the audience, to her relief- there was a fear there that he would regard them as predators and immediately dart towards some dark, hidden space. But to her approval, he didn't even seem to notice they were there... but perhaps that was because his eyesight wasn't great. "Hello, fellow citizens." Emery said, clicking the volume dial on her helm up a few notches, letting her voice buzz across the arena. "Introductions need to be made. I am Emery, and this is Klik, my entry for today. He is a marvel of science, revived from a fossil into our modern world." She set him down on the ground, letting the audience see him but also to let him get better acclimated to the arena floor.
