The stallion is standing there waiting for Renathan to do something, and honestly Renathan didn't think was going to be this hard. Maybe it was because he had trained him to do the more difficult thing first? That was probably what the confusion was; he was thinking that Renathan wanted him to jump over the thing. That was certainly not good... He had to really think about this. Renathan finally sighs, grabs the reins in his hands, and then taps the stallion on his side with his feet. Just before the stallion leapt up to go over the rock; he pulled the reins back ever so slightly, forcing the stallion to stand up on top of the rock instead of leaping over it. Renathan was overjoyed! He leaned forward and gave the stallion an apple piece, and petted his mane for good measure. Renathan is quiet as the stallion works on the apple piece that was given.

Renathan pets the stallion on his mane, glad that he'd finally done what they needed! Now they could actually work with this, since it would be easier to continue this training now that he has done it right at least once. Renathan's heart was still hammering since he had thought that he'd hurt the stallion first off in the training. He didn't think it would be a good idea to go to the healer off of something he'd done stupidly in accident. That; and well, it would just be sad in general. He didn't want to hurt his beloved pets. The stallion did not seem to be favoring any of it's feet, so that was good. The stallion finally ate the apple piece, and Renathan urged him down. Now they could work on more specific situations for this, and then he could move on to the more battle-oriented training, perhaps! Renathan was very happy.

Renathan then walks the stallion around again, for good measure, before deciding to continue the training for the stallion. Renathan walked him towards a smaller rock than the last one, and then taps him on the sides carefully. The stallion has began to figure out what the tapping meant; he taps a little himself and then leaps up on top of the rock carefully, spinning around a little to look around off of the rock. The stallion really had liked to climb previously; on anything he could, that would make this training a little easier now that they were not quite as confused as they were earlier with how to do this. Renathan then gives the stallion another piece of the crisp pink apple, and then he gave him some gentle pets on his mane fur. He was happy that they had done well so far; and he hoped to get even more precise with this jump soon.

The stallion finishes off his pink apple piece and then he makes a soft noise, breaking Renathan from his calm reverie. He was quite happy that the stallion was doing so well, and he'd always enjoyed that the stallion's fur was so nice and sleek. Renathan patted him and consoled him before having him get off of the rock wordlessly. The stallion steps down off of the rock, and Renathan once again walks him around the fence before he steers him towards another of the smaller rocks, even more smaller than the last one. The stallion makes his way for it, and Renathan purposefully doesn't tap his feet on the stallion's side. The stallion jumps over it; as he would have expected and as he had been trained to do previously. Renathan gave him an appreciative pat and a piece of apple to continue to approve of this behavior following this lack of a command. He didn't want to accidentally overwrite previous work.

After the stallion finished off his crisp pink apple piece, Renathan gave him another pet on his mane, and then took up the reins again. He suggested the stallion to wheel back around to the rock he'd just jumped over, and then he tapped him while still moving, urging him to leap up on top of it. The stallion seemed to feel strange, but he did leap up onto the rock and stand there, all four of his feet standing on top of it feeling very strange due to how small it was... Renathan planned to go even smaller, since the stallion had shown good agility in previous situations. Renathan quickly gives the stallion a piece of apple, keeping from leaning forward too far and knocking off the stallion's balance. Then Renathan gave him a good pet on the mane and softly patted his side. Yes, today was a good day after all; even though he had been very worried.

Renathan waits until the stallion is completed eating his little pink apple crisp before he suggested using the reins that he get off of the rock, and then walk around the fence again. This time, the stallion seemed more eager; as if he knew what they were going to do. That was certainly very good; Renathan steers him towards the smallest rock in the fence. He was hoping that the stallion would leap up on the rock and manage to keep his footing, at least. He then pushed the stallion towards the rock and tapped the equillion on the side; to suggest him to leap up on the rock. He doesn't look nervous at all; he'd been climbing around for a long while! He leaps up on top of the rock, all of his hooves hardly fitting on the rock at all. At least the stallion had managed to do what was asked of him! Renathan asks him to get off the rock, and then gives him a piece of apple and some pets. He felt very good about today! They left the corral not long afterward.

After taking a few days to recuperate from the mind trick that was the Mansion visit; Renathan finally feels calm enough to take the stallion out for some more training. He had been glad previously that they had worked hard enough to get him ready to be quite loyal to him. They would not be bringing tack today; since he did not plan to get into any more riding training for now. Instead; they'd be working on some battle-readiness techniques, hopefully. Renathan takes the stallion out to the corral and opens the door for them before closing it securely. He'd already come up with quite the game plan for this first easy idea; it was something equillion seemed to do very naturally so it shouldn't be too much of an issue. The stallion stands there, looking at him patiently. He then calls out to the stallion, rolling it off of his tongue easily. "Take off."

Since running came naturally to Equillion, Renathan figured that this next part was going to be pretty easy on them. He simply makes a playful push on the stallion's rump and then makes a loud noise using a leather strap he'd brought. The stallion was so focused on Renathan making the playful push on him that the noise actually did shock him; forcing him to dart away. The stallion ran-full force away and then ambles back whenever the perceived danger seemed to go away. He tilts his head, but Renathan is grinning beneath his mask, and the stallion can feel the happiness and tickled mood across the empathic link. Renathan offers him a piece of crisp pink apple happily, and watches his him eat it. It was really nice to see those little 'gears in his head' moving again behind his eyes; it was much better than getting attacked at a mansion!

The stallion was quite confused as to what he'd done that had been good, but he figured that he'd get more examples very soon. Renathan waits until the stallion has completed his apple piece before he continues on. "Take off!" Then he pats the stallion on his rump again; to remind him. The stallion stands there for a moment, staring at him and blinking. Then, he begins walking, and then running-walks away, finally. Renathan watches him race about in a circle, and then return to him eagerly for treats. Well, he was glad that that stallion was so eager to please and beginning to guess exactly what he needed from him based off of previous experience. Renathan pulls out a piece of the crisp pink apple for him again and offers it to him with an open palm. The stallion gently takes it from him with just his lips, careful not to bite Renathan. Renathan and the Stallion had sure went a long way!

Renathan was very proud of the equillion; he was growing easier and easier to train all the time. He hoped that this would continue on into the future, since he really needed to train a whole bunch of tricks and other such things to get him ready for future troubles. Right now, he could probably fare pretty decently in the pit, even if they hadn't unlocked his full potential! Renathan watches as the stallion enjoys his treat, and he thinks for a moment, wanting to make sure that the stallion really gets this even though it is such a simple move. The idea of the move was to make it harder to hit; or perhaps to help them travel while he was in the saddle much easier. Renathan knew that the next few things they would train would be much more difficult; he needed to learn to have as much endurance as possible!

Renathan decides that the next step would be continuing to work on this running skill. Renathan waits until the stallion finishes his apple; and then he decides to wean him off of the flank slap reminder. Renathan knew that they wouldn't always be within physical shot of one another, so verbal commands were very important for the moves that wouldn't just be used in the saddle. Renathan calls out; "Take off!" And then he doesn't do the flank slap. To his surprise; the stallion seems to be pretty used to commands that are verbal by this point; after a moment of faltering slightly he rushes forward at a full-force run, really wanting to earn those apple pieces. Renathan does give him one when he comes back around. Renathan then spends the next thirty minutes working on this skill. The stallion was very big and very strong with lots of stamina, so he could have probably run around for longer than that. They used the command, the stallion ran, wash rinse and repeat until Renathan felt much more confident with him knowing the move. If Renathan wasn't so close with his Stallion, and if the Stallion wasn't already so well trained this probably wouldn't have been near as easy. Luckily, running also came naturally for most four-legged creatures.

Renathan also wanted to finish up some of the more basic training; like the dash. The idea of the dash was to be able to dodge more physical kinds of attacks; this would hopefully allow him to keep away from easier but more dangerous moves like the crunch of a sarane or a rend from a PHIL. Hopefully this would be just as easy, but he wasn't going to count on it. Renathan stops the stallion for a moment, and then takes a few plastic balls from his backpack. He leaves the backpack open on the ground so that he could get to more balls, and then he stares the stallion down. What was he going to use as a command for this one? Renathan decides quickly on a sharp shrill whistle that sounded quite different than their other commands. Renathan pulls back his hand with a ball in it, to wind up to throw.

Dashing was definitely not the most integral thing that he was planning on teaching the stallion, but it was probably going to be the easiest. That was what he was after, anyway, was ease. Renathan then gives off the sharp shrill whistle, and the stallion's ears automatically picked up; swiveling towards him. He knows by now that Renathan's whistles were definitely commands; he never heard him using whistles at any other time. Renathan then throws one of the balls at the stallion; knowing that his excellent sense of danger would force him to move away from it. His hunch is correct; with a burst of speed the stlalion rushes away from the ball, and then looks at Renathan giving him an accusatory look. Yeah. He knew who threw that ball at him! The stallion ambles over to him and Renathan gives him a crisp pink piece of apple for his effort, and to show him that this was part of the training.

The stallion eats his crisp apple while thinking about what was going on. He knew this was a training thing; so he tries his hardest to commit that particular whistle noise to memory. Renathan knew that the stallion was quick to read him; but he also knew that repitition really made perfect with things like this. Running was natural; but dashing was another thing altogether. Sure, most equillion would at least try to get away from danger, but they would have to time this perfectly each and every time to keep him from getting attacked by enemies, or clipped by claws. Renathan watches the stallion eat his treat thoughtfully, and then backs up, dragging his backpack with him. Before the stallion completely finishes his little pink apple piece treat, Renathan gives the sharp shrill whistle again and quickly throws a ball at him. He just barely gets out of the way of the ball.

The stallion once again stares at Renathan in an accusatory fashion; he knows that Renathan threw that. Renathan grinned beneath his mask; and then immediately throws another one. The stallion puts on a quick burst of speed to get away, keeping his tail out of the way just barely. It needed some refining, certainly, but this would work well for today. Renathan tosses another ball carefully leading the stallion; forcing him to run in yet another direction, the sharp twist and turn on a dime showing off his athleticism certainly. Each time he does this; he repeats the sharp shrill whistle to really dig it in. Renathan watches as the stallion keeps running, and then eventually slows down and ambles back to him. Renathan was very impressed with his run this time; so he pulls a half of a pink apple out to give to the stallion, to show him that he was doing a great job. The stallion took the half of an apple with obvious glee. Renathan smiles beneath his mask yet again.
