Morgan looked out over the area in an attempt to describe this strange noise to theirself in a way that made sense. Domino nervously looked around as well, though Morgan was sure that the creature wasn't understanding what Morgan was trying to do either. The ocean was still on low tide; or well, the 'mini ocean'. It was salty and moved like the ocean, but it made no real sense. Morgan was sure that it couldn't have been very deep at all; perhaps fifteen feet at the deepest point, because where would the ocean just go if it wasn't? They had no idea, in all honesty; and it bothered Morgan that they didn't have all the answers. The bespectacled human was far too impatient for that sort of thing. They wanted to figure things out thoroughly and quickly. The ocean's front, where it lapped at the sand, was not barren, however.

There were lots of jagged rocks, this time around. Somehow, Morgan was sure that they would not find creatures like those mara-thingies or whatever this time. They had been able to study them a bit, and then had swiftly given them away; to Renathan, who said he knew just who to give them to that would take care of them. They hadn't been anywhere near jagged rocks that looked like fangs like the ones ahead of them. Morgan pushed their glasses up further on their nose and then turned to Domino. "What are the chances that the wind blowing through those jagged rocks are what is causing this whistling?" Morgan was grinning, of course. There was no one around to question, so why not? It made sense, though it was pretty neat that this random arrangement would just so happen to make a sound exactly like that and all. It was unexpected.

Morgan somehow doubted that the rocks were really what was causing it though. It almost sounded melodic, or repeating perhaps? Like a swinging chain, or something, with a heavy object on the end of it. Morgan squinted quietly, tilted their head, and turned towards where they were sure the sound was coming from. They had to know what was going on, and was super curious. "Let's go down to the water, Domino." There went the infernal yapping again! Morgan sighed, snorting out a bit from their nose afterward, and then they gently guided the cart to the footpath, down from the hillock, having a hard go at it as the dragged the wheels over the sand onto the much smoother and pebbled path. It would be slightly bumpy, but it wouldn't matter. Morgan knew that there was enough water in there not to bother Domino too much. The ocean sounded nice, but that eerie sound was much larger now.

Immediately, Morgan felt that strange, hair-prickling feeling against the back of their neck. They could feel it; the strange 'being stared at' sort of feeling that made them realize that something was nearby. For some reason, being at the mansion today was causing Morgan to feel like something was going to happen that wasn't particularly good... The bespectacled human ignored this unfounded feeling, noting that the strange whistling from before wasn't a good enough reason to believe that strange feeling. Wind whistling through trees sounded... Well, nothing like that, but it was enough to make Morgan feel like it made sense that something natural could indeed make a sound that sounded like something in that ballpark. The seryn didn't seem to be noticing anything other than the whistle from before. Morgan continued down on the footpath near the water, sure that they would find some sort of crystal or two. That had to be what it was.

Morgan was at least relieved that it didn't seem like the seryn hadn't noticed any of the weird stuff that Morgan was feeling. The sensations were probably internally originated, some kind of side effect of the chaos or something. However, they still couldn't shake the feeling not at all. The bespectacled human stopped for a moment, glancing out over the salty water. Morgan was sure that taking a swim in it would be more danger than it was worth, since it was salty and well, unknown. Morgan had considered it previously, but decided ultimately not to. A cold wind picked up, and pushed off of the low-tide water, sending a bit of salt and spray whiff to Morgan's nostrils. They sneezed a bit, unused to the flaky salt scent. It was gross, Morgan certainly didn't like it. It smelled a bit fishy; in a wild way. Domino didn't seem to notice, but did seem entranced by the little 'sea'.

Perhaps the seryn would have one day liked to have swam in a water like that? Perhaps one day, perhaps next year, Morgan would take her swimming here. For today, however, Morgan didn't feel comfortable letting her. The travel tank would have to be enough for her, today, at least. Morgan was just waiting for the other shoe to drop when it came to the strange feeling around here. Morgan felt like, as they pulled the cart carrying the tank across the footpath near the low tide (wouldn't this make it to where the tide would rise above the footpath? how strange...) mini-sea, they were getting closer and closer to the source of the strange feeling of being watched. Morgan hated this feeling, but had felt it many times before. They knew what it was, or at least figured that it was still that; but couldn't anything else produce that same sensation?

If Morgan was going to go down that mental road, then they might as well go all the way down it. The bespectacled human could imagine a carnivorous, or perhaps magiforous beast that preferred to eat those magically inclined. This creature would stand a lot of benefit by mimicking the sensation of finding one of those crystals, to pull in the unsuspecting magically inclined... Morgan shuddered at that, nearly imperceptibly, and then immediately told theirself that it was because of the cold sea-spray and not the idea that the uncanny feeling of being watched might actually be real danger. Domino did not seem to be too worried, at least, instead staring at things with her silvery gaze. Well, at least that was still a comfort. Morgan continued on, feeling more and more uneasy as time went on, feeling more and more worried too. Perhaps they were overthinking things; in fact, that was definitely the case.

Morgan reminded theirself that sure, the sensation of one of those crystals being around was super uncomfortable, but that was just it. Uncomfortable, and Morgan was imagining things otherwise because human brains tended to do that and they were overthinking things entirely. Domino made a playful splash, catching Morgan's attention and forcing them to stop for a moment, as they pulled the cart along. Morgan cocked their head and realized that Domino was staring at something on the sand nearby; a tiny little palm tree. Oh, it was another of those like black and red ones. It was creepy to look at, so strange and odd. Morgan had dug up the last one, and scooped this one up too. They weren't sure if they were going to put this one in the garden too, or what. They wondered vaguely if there were other colors of those. Probably, since the mansion seemed to have quite a few different morphs of stuff to take.

Morgan was interested in finding a few different things to either transplant or otherwise decorate their garden with. Morgan was not afraid of being unable to take care of something even as exotic as these tiny palm-looking trees. Surely that was not what these are, though? "Look at that Domino, you're helping me find stuff. Great job." Morgan said, mumbling after about halfway through it since they knew that they were talking to a creature that didn't and couldn't really understand. They just kept finding theirself feeling the need to speak at her, for whatever reason. It was quite odd, working with a creature that was practically a fish and all. "Well, looks like I'm not going to be able to keep myself from yapping at a fish, huh..." Morgan mumbled, sheepishly, and looked away. There was a small tidepool not far away, and Morgan decided to go check it out.

It was going to take some time to get to the tidepool, since it was pretty far down. Near enough to not be an issue, but at least a five minute walk away. It wouldn't take entirely too much time, at least. Domino happily stared down at the dug up palm tree thing that had been put in one of the side buckets on the red wagon. The thing was certainly unlike anything Domino had seen before, and that caused the creature to gaze upon it and perhaps even consider what it was that was in that bucket, the thing that they had seen that Morgan had brought. Was it alive? Domino wasn't sure about whether it was an animal of some sort or not, that was for certain. She looked at it from all of the angles that she could, trying to get an idea of what it was. Domino was curious like that.

Morgan glanced back every now and again, still feeling that weird 'being watched' sensation that they didn't exactly like at all. However, they were happy to see the curious expression on Domino's face. They were beginning to notice small things like that about the creature; which was a good sign. Hopefully Domino was noticing such things the opposite way around as well, because that was a good indicator that the psycho-social bond was beginning to cement with the creature, which was what was really needed. That was, after all, Morgan's overall goal, save for seeing the Mansion change over and all of that. They were a little nervous about what they would find, but they hadn't quite gotten too nervous to stay. They really wanted to be able to study this, for certain, among all of the other things they were curious about. The tidepool wasn't too far away now.

The pair had nearly managed to close the gap about half-way now, between them and the tide pool, and they were beginning to realize that there was something in that tide pool, some sort of strange fanlike things. Morgan could not quite make them out exactly, so they would just have to figure out when they got closer what those things were. The seryn was still staring down at the tiny palm tree, and the scoop of black sand that had been there as well, clinging to the 'roots' of the thing. Of course, Domino didn't know what those things were, they kind of looked like tendrils. Tendrils were something more that Domino might have had an idea as to what was, so that was what she considered them to be. Was it able to ambulate? Perhaps not. Morgan continued to close the gap to the tide pool, curious about what was there.

Domino was slowly getting more and more used to Morgan. She had always been about as kindly as one could expect a seryn to be to another being, seeing as Seryn were generally very kindly creatures, if one could anthropomorphize them like that. It was perhaps only that their sources of food were generally much too small to be humanoid, and thus they did not see humanoids as prey items naturally. Domino certainly didn't, and was beginning to see Morgan as more of a friend than a provider of food only. Morgan of course did not know this, only that the seryn was eager to please and tended to be quite empathic at times. Not in the way that the Labs generally used the word, but just understanding of others and caring about their plight. Morgan had read about dolphins once; and they sounded a lot like seryn, though they looked nothing like them.
