It wasn't surprising for the crossbreeds to get out again. The two large brutes had figured out the gate once more, and Amelia had followed them a long way. They left paths of destruction. Things had been eaten, things had been knocked over. They moved very heavily, burning shrubs occasionally and leaving piles of goop as they moved. Loud tremors, moving the earth as they found their way. Amelia had followed the path, surprised at how far the creatures had gotten. She recognized the mansion grounds immediately. The large, towering building twinkled in the starlight, and the mammalian regretted coming so far. She had taken an evening trip to stop at the kennel, not realizing she would be chasing down her creatures. It had possibly been all day they had been out, slowly making their way down the path. Now they were in the mansion grounds, and Amelia knew scary things could happen here. Seasons could fly by here, and one room could morph into another. There were tails of people being lost for weeks in the mansion, being unable to find an exit. She was pretty sure in her past she had been here, but memories did not serve her now.
"Here I come ya big tanks. The mammalian groaned, rolled her eyes and trudged down the path.

She pushed her way through some trees, muttering under breath as the branches snapped back at her. It wasn't exactly 'fun' having to do this, and the mammalian had one big problem. How the hell was she supposed to get them back to the kennels? She should have asked Sandy for advice, but the Thundergug was busy resting in between tournament battles. Her first battle was exhausting, it was very tough. She got poisoned, and it had drained her slowly until she finally fainted in front of the mammalian and it was so hard to watch. But when Sandy came around shortly after being healed, and Amelia was crouched over her body, putting her hands by the 'gug's nose so she could smell her. She could remember the words easily.
You're here.
Of course, I told you'd I'd be here when you woke up. How're you feeling?
Better. I'm so happy you're here for me. I love you. Even though you don't remember most of our relationship together, you adapted really quickly.
How could I not? You're my best friend. I love you too
The Thundergug closed her eyes again and rested her face against the mammalian's paws. The healers were so quick, and Sandy's wounds healed fast. Of course, good amounts of rest and nutrition strengthened her for her next battle. And despite her scars, she was excited to battle again. Amelia smiled at the fond memory, looking at the crossbreeds in front of her.

The crossbreeds came from some of Sandy's DNA. Amelia had always been fascinated by the Thundergug, and her colours always impressed the snow leopard. Earthy tones, the Thundergug wasn't a spectacular show, but she had something incredible behind her. They had utilized Jackson's DNA, back when the Sarane were popular. Jackson was well bred, and came from quality genetics. He had dark tones, with a bit of red mixed in. Spiked tails, large wings, strong horns, with a mix of acid and electrical powers. Most certainly from injections, there was little way that Sarane could naturally have those abilities. So now, Amelia had two of these large lumbering creatures. Believe it or not, they could fly. Their tails and side of their front legs had thick spikes, clearly unenjoyable for any potential opponent. They dripped an unpleasant acid goo from their jaws, and that was how they killed their prey. They were omnivores, with having one parent as a herbivore and one a carnivore, they had desire for both. Like a Thundergug, they were slow and deliberate creatures. So their hunting strategy was to poison a creature and follow it until it would die. Which could be awhile depending on how resilient the prey was. Or they could create a bolt of lightening from their Thundergug like head crests. They weren't fast in either the ground or the air, which is why the mammalian had a chance to catch up to them.

But Amelia was impressed by the incredible combination of genetics. She had paid a pretty penny for the creation, and both Sandy and Jackson had to be taken in to get multiple tests and blood taken. Sandy was most likely never going to have natural children, simply because there weren't much in terms of male Thundergugs. Amelia had Neo, Blizzard and Nemo. She wasn't a fan of the neon colouration on Neo and Nemo, she felt as though it was a cheap job done from the labs long ago. The journal entries on those Thundergugs mentioned how she had been a young girl when she had got them, and it was a poor usage of money. They had two small babies, who grew into large Thundergug as well. Amelia had the father and one baby, and she didn't know what she had previously done with the other baby and mother. It made the mammalian sad, but she couldn't track them down easily. Blizzard had joined that family clan, and the three of them usually stayed together. But Sandy lived at the farm with Amelia, and so she did not see the others as much. Yes, they were her family. But she did not want to take any of the males as a mate. She preferred to devote her attention elsewhere. But Amelia was sure she was proud of these creations. If only she was here to help Amelia round them up...

Amelia had never gotten close enough to decipher the gender of the creatures. They were large and cumbersome, often sleeping and resistive to moving for the mammalian. She had to figure out what to do with the fence to keep this creatures in. It had taken her a very long time last time to bring them home. She had a good idea that this would take very long as well. She pushed another branch aside and came into the clearing the crossbreeds were in. So she had located them, this was fine. They were only on the mansion grounds, they had not yet made it up to the building. Amelia doubted they could actually fit into the mansion, so she would just be following them around the mansion. It still might be hours before she was able to get them to go back towards the kennel. She grunted and hid behind a tree, watching the big brutes stand in the grass. One was a little bit golden, the other had more colours like Jackson. The golden one was sniffing around the ground, looking for something to eat. The burgundy hued one was staring in Amelia's direction, chewing some grass in it's large jaws. The creatures could eat a large prey, or they could munch their way through any piece of vegetations they could find. They ate meat quickly, but could graze on grass for hours. Which they may have very well been doing.

An incredibly loud screeching noise can be heard, and then suddenly a ton of little pops! Somewhere close by, fireworks are going off! Maybe they are pretty?

This was ridiculous. Amelia rolled her eyes and slumped into the grass with a large sigh. The snow leopard was impatient, and trying to figure out how to have the patience for these stubborn creatures was not exactly up her ally. It was odd to her, to not remember anything from before this last year. She would often have moments of deja vu, but she knew something wasn't quite right with her brain. She had been given medications, but those didn't make her feel 'right,' so she preferred to stay away from anything that wasn't herbal. She had weird moments, and in her times of clarity but look back at herself with embarrassment. How could she have been living in the labs for the last year (to her memory,) and have made no friends? She had met people in passing, and had casual acquaintances but nobody she felt she connected with on the level she did with Sandy. Sandy had been her friend for longer than she could remember, and the Thundergug had made mention of things that made her think it was at least a decade. She had spent a year trying to grasp the concept of how to live, that she forgot to figure out how to create happiness and purpose for herself. There was a lot of self discovery left, and perhaps being outside and following these creatures was helping her in the right direction.

She enjoyed having a tail, and she spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to use it for grasping things. Mostly, it just helped her have really good balance. She was lucky, which was good because she did not do many things to help herself. She was crazy, to put things in blunt terms. For a long time she thought it was just the diagnosis and things doctors had told her, but now she realized that her brain was just really different. She couldn't say no, and was easily persuaded into doing dumb things. When it would come to problems, she found herself usually able to get out of it. Maybe it was that she was quick on her feet. Snow leopards had good balance and were delicate creatures in many ways. Her brain, although it didn't work properly, worked in ways different than other peoples. This helped her pick up skills easily when she put the effort in, she was a quick learner. A quick learner who was unusually lucky, had a crazy and forgetful brain that helped her avoid trouble, and a body that was slightly more dexterous than a simple human. (She was pretty sure in her past life she was some sort of variation of a human, or something other creature that wore human clothes.) Her life was pretty good, yet here she was spending way more time than normal chasing large, stubborn creatures who had ventured far from home.

She wanted to do more for herself. She assumed she was rather young and healthy, but there was so much untapped potential ahead of her. The labs and surrounding area was huge with so much to discover. The most she had done was go to the mines, because Sandy had told her it was a fun past time for her. Maybe she used to love mining, but apparently she didn't used to do anything in terms of hobbies or friends. She was letting herself fall into the life she had apparently tried so hard to get away from. This was the first time she had even been to the mansion grounds. She had never been to the gardens before, and she didn't spend nearly enough time with her pets at the park or the dock. Not to mention how little she interacted with other inhabitants of the labs. There were people who lived here, she just never went out of her way to meet them. Instead she would get in one of her crazy moods (which were constantly getting worse,) and just clean her kennel, her place, and spend an ungodly amount of time cleaning her coat. She meal prepped for weeks, freezing the majority of it. But she didn't further herself in ways that would benefit her mind or her health. She had pets she barely interacted with. Maybe if she spent more time with these crossbreeds, they wouldn't be constantly escaping.'

Amelia let out a long sigh, it was getting really dark and she didn't think things were coming to a close anytime soon. The crossbreeds were still determined to be here, and they had moved onto another path of vegetations. A few lampposts went on, lighting up the main path to the mansion and the area immediately surrounding the building. She sunk into the ground as she heard the loud pops. She looked around in fear, the sounds ringing through her entire body. There! She watched the big flashes of light illuminate the sky. What were those? She had never seen those before, and they weren't in the journal. Blues, reds and greens lit up the sky in different areas. Her eyes widened, and she was fascinated by the spectacle of lights. Where were they coming from? The mansion was huge, and from her angle it looked like the opposite side. But perhaps from inside? No, that couldn't be right. While she wasn't looking, the golden crossbreed changed its mind about eating. Turning around, it sniffed into the sky, smelling the sulphur coming from the igniting spectacles. It let out an incredibly loud, thunderous roar. Amelia turned quickly, starting at the large, thorny beast. It let out a softer grunt, and the burgundy cross got its attention. She had no idea the gender of these creatures either, but decided she would assume they were male until proven otherwise.

The fireworks had caused the crossbreeds to want to move, and they began to walk towards the mansion. These things were huge, there was no way they would be able to fit inside the building. But, this was a magical mansion wasn't it? Amelia pressed herself into the trees, her wintery white coat not aiding in her camouflage from the crosses. Luckily, they were more interested in finding the source of the fireworks then finding their owner in the bush. She followed along behind them, creeping in the tall grass. When the large creatures walked in the grass, it looked rather short. Grazing their stomachs and sides. As she moved through, she realized it was almost two feet tall, and she was easily able to stalk on her four feet through it while remaining rather hidden. Her claws sunk into the soft earth, and the warm summer evening made it easy to enjoy this unplanned venture. She found herself quickly near the side of the mansion. The burgundy creature had been distracted by a section of moss growing off the side of the building, and the golden creature had stopped alongside it. A collection of grunts and growls came from the golden crossbreed, and it was evident that it was not interested in sitting around eating moss. Amelia tried to remain very still, not wanting to draw the attention of the large creatures. She assumed they did not like her yet, and were not at all interested in spending time with her.

The burgundy crossbreed continued to munch at the moss, while the golden one got closer and closer to the mansion. Amelia didn't think that they could get inside the mansion, but it also was a magical building. She wouldn't be surprised if there was a way they could get in. But... she didn't want them to break down the door or anything. It did worry her a little, these large brutes going where they wanted to. They were head strong, stubborn. And certainly she wouldn't be surprised if they decided to go into the building regardless of inability to fit through the door. Whatever they wanted to do, they did. This included leaving the kennel, and going into buildings they wanted to. The thing with the mansion, is that the outside often looked the same. It wasn't the outside that changed, but the inside that did. There was magic inside, and she was sure she would discover it at sometime. A large grunt came from the golden one, and she watched as it was standing at the door. Oh no, it was bigger than the door. She cringed, looking back at the burgundy cross. Okay, so now it was beginning to notice its kin had made its way towards the entrance of the mansion, so clearly it went to meet it. Oh no, should she do something about this? They couldn't just wreck the mansion. Amelia crawled forward, now only a few feet away from her crossbreeds.

Spring was in the air, and the flowers brought the scent of spring with them. There was something about the mansion this time of year that brought joy to all those who were around it. The mammalian could dance in the rose petals, throw them into the air and just find joy in the simplicity of it all. But the coolest part was the eggs, just everywhere. They were not eggs that could easily be broken, they had clearly been decorated and thought had been put into them. They were gorgeous, and Amelia could spend the whole day just searching for different coloured eggs. It was easier than going into the mansion anyhow. The mansion could be scary, things changed very quickly in there. She would go in one door, and then all of a sudden she would turn around and there would be no door any more.
But Amelia didn't come by himself. She surrounded herself by creatures she loved. Denny had spent a lot of time with her, and the Sarane was a fantastic friend to have around. He cared about the mammalian and did what he could to help protect her. Sarane were protective creatures by nature to those they care for, and Denny had a close relationship with the mammalian. She also brought along two Sarane babies. They were clumsy and occasionally a bit of a handful, but she trusted Denny to care for them as well. Although they were not his babies, he cared enough to make sure they didn't get lost or eaten.
"I don't understand why I got stuck on babysitting duty. I'm going to spend the day keeping these two in check, instead of enjoying myself."
