Now that Fiera had finished teaching Penny how to sense when danger was incoming, she realized just how... HOT it had gotten out. She glanced upward as Penny danced around her feet, enjoying her victory. While she had been teaching that, the sun had finished coming up and was now beating down overhead. The clearing they were in was starting to heat up, and Fiera knew they wouldn't be able to stay outside for too much longer. She whistled for Penny and lead the young houluh down the path again, retreating to the cooler shadows underneath the trees. She figured they would go home soon, but they probably had time to learn just one more trick. Something nice and simple as a cool down of sorts- that would be easy enough, right? How about... she placed a finger on her chin for a moment, thinking. How about sit? That was easy enough.

"Penny, come here!" She called, beckoning her puppy over. Penny obeyed happily, having no clue what was in store for her. "Okay, now: sit!" Fiera said, giving the new command bright and early. Obviously, Penny had no clue what to do, but Fiera walked up behind her and placed a hand on the pup's haunches. "Come on, sit!" She said again as she began to apply pressure. Penny had... no clue what was going on, but Fiera was much heavier than her. Soon, with very little effort, Fiera was able to push Penny all the way to the ground such that she was in a sitting position, even if she had made no attempt to get there herself. Still, it was what Fiera had been trying to get her to do, and she wanted to hammer that home. "Good sit, Penny!" Fiera said in a cheery voice, and dug around in her back pocket.

She pulled out a treat for the houluh, and Penny immediately shot up to her feet. Her confusion was forgotten as she crunched down on the treat, and Fiera was happy that she had stood up again so quickly- it gave her a much better opportunity to try again than having to pick her up. When Penny was done eating, Fiera got back to business. "Okay Penny, ready?" She said, coming up on her knees behind the houluh again. Penny glanced behind her, but Fiera had already started up, putting pressure on the small of her back again. To Fiera's surprise, she didn't have to put quite as much pressure down this time. Penny didn't go down EASILY mind you, but it was a much faster process than last time. That was... progress, she supposed? It certainly wasn't a step in the WRONG direction, so she could afford to give her a treat for it.

Penny was more than happy to take the treat from Fiera, but the humanish was hoping that she wouldn't have to shove Penny down EVERY time she wanted her to sit. That wasn't exactly the point of the trick. Still, Penny was up and standing again so she might as well give it another shot. "Penny, sit!" She said, hoping for the best... but Penny didn't move. Fiera sighed, and went to put pressure on the houluh's hips again. "Sit-" She said, but before the syllable even left her mouth and as her hand just brushed Penny's fur, the houluh plopped herself down on the ground. It looked like all she needed was a little encouragement, even if she wasn't great at self motivating yet. "Well! I'll take that as a win! Good sit, Penny!" Fiera said, tossing her an extra treat for her trouble. The pup happily snapped it up.

Fiera gave Penny a minute or so to calm down after that. She didn't particularly enjoy Fiera shoving her around, so perhaps she would be more agreeable if Fiera gave her a few minutes to relax before trying the trick again. She had already shown a lot of improvement. Soon enough however, Fiera's boredom outweighed her desire for Penny to be comfortable, so she spoke up once more. "Penny!" She said, getting the houluh's attention. "Sit!" She ordered, waiting to see what the houluh would do. To her relief- she sat, looking at Fiera the whole time. The humanish smiled- it looked like she only had to be a bit patient. Something that was perhaps harder for her than other people. However, her patience for training today was just about spent. It was only getting hotter, even under the protective barrier of the trees, and both she and Penny were tired. It was time to go home.

Fiera had done a little bit of training with Sebros, but not nearly enough. Still, the weather was perfect for him right now. Sunny, but with a strong breeze. Today would be a good day to train him things. He knew his name, and... not much else. The humanish definitely wanted to take him to the training gym sometime, so teaching him to be more polite and obedient was on the docket today... though that was a tall order for him. The worginu was definitely a clever one, and was always looking for ways to get around doing what Fiera wanted him to, even if it didn't count as outright disobedience. She hummed slightly as they settled down next to a pond, under a willow tree that was swaying slightly in the wind. Perhaps that would be the best thing to start with- teaching him that no meant no, no matter what. Fiera 1 Sebros 6.1/13.1 No 1

For that, she had something he wanted- food, of course. Juicy little morsels of meat from the butchers- the picky little man wouldn't accept anything less fresh. Then, she had a bowl. Not a fancy one, just basic metal. Something you'd use to mix up pastries. She held up a piece of meat. Sebros's easy going attitude seemed to melt off as he eyed it. She set it on the ground before gesturing to it. "Sebros... no." She said, setting up the command. Whether or not he'd follow it was another issue entirely, however. He glanced between her and the meat, the wheels in his mind no doubt whirring. Then he made a dash for it, teeth flashing brightly. Fiera was faster however, and quickly snapped the bowl down over top of the meat. His teeth clattered off the side of it uselessly, the rounded surface impossible for him to puncture.

She let him go on like that for a moment, growling softly and prying at the bowl. He even tried to slip his pawlike hands under the rim, but the combination of Fiera putting her full weight on the bowl and Sebros's hands not being particularly dextrous kept him from lifting it up. Eventually the worginu retreated, glaring at Fiera from his position a few feet away. He was welcome to pout- that was kind of the point. It was only now that he was finally leaving it alone that Fiera would give him what he wanted. "Good job, Sebros!" She said, lifting the bowl up. "Good no! Have a treat!" She said, pushing the chunk across the grass towards him. His ears perked up- what, NOW he could have it? But the worginu wasn't about to look a gift meat in the veins as it were, and quickly snapped it up.

Fiera let him eat it and quietly got out another chunk as he did so. He was a clever pet- he would likely figure out the pattern soon enough. When he finished eating, she dropped that piece of meat on the ground in front of him. "Sebros, n-" she said, but he was already lunging for it, having realized Fiera wasn't going to let him have it. "No!!" Fiera shouted, slamming the bowl down. He managed to just barely get his fingers inside the edge of it, but before he could finish reaching in she pushed him out with her other hand. "No, Sebros!" She said, her voice sharp and scolding this time. Sebros reeled back at that- she almost never raised her voice at him. She was normally filled with patience for her pets (though admittedly not for other people)- had he really done something so wrong? He looked away.

Scolding her pets wasn't her favorite way of getting a lesson across... but Sebros was a large creature, and was set to grow even larger. He needed to learn that actions had consequences now, instead of later when he wouldn't be so easily dissuaded by a sharp word. She gave it another minute or so before finally uncovering the meat. "...Good no, Sebros." She said. He looked at it hesitantly, glancing between it and Fiera before she tossed it to him and he caught it automatically. She quickly got out another piece, setting it on the ground. "Sebros, no." She said, this time setting aside the bowl. That fact was not lost on him, as he glanced at it at Fiera's side... but didn't lean down to grab it. Instead he sat politely, crossing his paws over each other. After a couple of minutes, Fiera gave the word. "Good job, Sebros."...And he leapt upon the treat just as fast as before.

She smiled a bit as Sebros wolfed down the snack- she was expecting something like that to happen, but as long as he obeyed her commands when she gave them, that was fine by her. The next trick she had in mind however was to try and keep him from wandering, as difficult as that may be. Sebros was a rather independent creature- he didn't seem to rely on Fiera as much as her other pets, and while he seemed to have fun with her, there wasn't as much of a need to please as she had seen from some of her other creatures. He was intelligent, that was for sure... but he still needed to follow the rules like anyone else. So Fiera would teach him "stay" next- hopefully that would help to curb some of his wanderlust, or at least to only succumb to it when it was more convenient for Fiera.

For that, she needed a lead. It was hard enough getting a collar on Sebros that morning- he had spent nearly half an hour trying to claw it off before he finally gave up, his claws skittering against the copper chain (iron, for some reason, seemed to hurt him). Even now, he growled slightly as her hands approached the collar, though he stopped when she merely clipped a metal leash to it. Hopefully that would be strong enough to keep him from snapping it and running off... though she would have to wait and see to be sure. From there however, she wrapped the other end of the chain around a low hanging branch on the willow tree they had settled themselves down next to, making sure it was strong and thick enough to not slip right off. When she was sure it was secure, Fiera began to walk away. "Stay there, Sebros!" She called.

She walked quickly, approaching the crest of the hill that rounded the pond they had settled next to, until she could see Sebros but Sebros could likely no longer see her due to the angle. Sure enough, she saw him get up almost immediately. She was almost touched that he wanted to follow her, but instead he simply sniffed around the ground and began wandering further down the shore. He soon reached the end of the lead however, and Fiera watched as he grew more frustrated. At first he tugged on it gently, but that soon turned to irritated growls and slashes at the tree branch that held him fast. Luckily for Fiera however, he was never able to get it in range and the willow branch bobbed out of the way of his swiping paws as he reared up. After several minutes, he had finally exhausted himself, returning to his original spot and panting.

That was when Fiera chose to return, cresting the hill once more and trotting back down to her pet. "Ah, look who's right where I left him! Good stay, Sebros!" Fiera said, tossing a couple more chunks of meat at his feet. Sebros looked at them, almost surprised- had he done something worthy of being offered a treat...? he wasn't about to question it however, and he happily snapped up the food Fiera had given him. Fiera leaned against the tree as he ate and recovered. After all, she didn't want him to completely wear himself out- this was supposed to be an easy day of training. Once he was done however, she gave the order again. "Sebros, stay." She said, and retreated back up the hill, perhaps a little too eagerly. She wanted to see if he had learned anything. When she turned around, she saw him waiting for her as expected... but soon he stood up again.

However, to her delight, he didn't wander off. Instead he simply sniffed the air a bit, circled around, and sat back down again. He seemed... bored, flicking the end of his braided tail idly. Well, Fiera wasn't about to tempt fate- she returned to the bottom of the hill, praised him for his good behavior, and gave him some more treats. While he ate them however, she quickly reached towards his throat. He gave her a warning glance, but all she did was unhook the leash from his collar, freeing him from his captivity. Then, she gave the order again. "Sebros, stay." She said, even as he was still chewing on his last treat. Then she quickly hurried up the hill and looked back. When she looked back, she was met with a flood of relief. He wasn't moving. In fact, he didn't seem to even want to stand up, instead laying there flopped in the grass. She sighed- finally he had figured it out.
