Her feet didn't make a sound as she hit the soft, grass covered ground, but Henri certainly did, scolding her with a final loud peep. "I know, I know! I already said thanks, I don't know what else you want from me!" She said with mock outrage, holding her hands up. The jolly bird did its best to seemingly 'huff' at her before turning around again, marching right down the path. Fiera took a few steps, exiting the field of light let off by the whatever-it-was, and the moment she stepped out of its radius... it vanished. Fiera glanced back at the window, but instead of showing the vague shape of a room like she saw in it before, or the ornate but uninteresting rooms of the previous windows, it showed... nothing. Just an empty, black void. Fiera shuddered. Perhaps it was DEFINITELY a good thing that she decided to skip that particular adventure.

Henri seemed happy to move on though, and soon his good mood was infectious. Why shouldn't it be- she pretty much dodged a bullet in avoiding the same fate as her past self. The rest of their journey was uneventful. The hedge continued to have those strange glowing lights inside it, but by now she knew they weren't threatening. The stars shone softly overhead, gently rotating as the 'night' went on. Soon enough the gate sharply turned and the pair found themselves walking perpendicular to the wall of the mansion. A few more steps, and Fiera found the gate where they started. "Perfect! Let's get us home, eh Henri?" She said, and Henri gave a short, cheery series of notes in response. All in all, a nice successful walk for the pair of them. She opened the gate and he dashed through the gap, happy to leave the hedge maze behind.

As she walked across the front lawn of the mansion, she took a look at the strange glass sculptures again, running her finger across one as she went by just to see the lights that sparkled just under its surface. She smiled a bit, but that smile shattered when Henri let out an alarmed cheep. She looked up- and now there were three of her. One of them covered in goo with the shredded scarf. Another holding Henri in her arms just after retrieving him off of the sculpture. And now her, who had avoided the fate of the first one via its warning. All of them stared at each other in silence for a moment before Fiera (the current one) gestured over her shoulder with a thumb. "I ah... didn't go in the window this time. It turned out fine." The other two seemed relieved at her statement, their shoulders unwinding a bit.

The goop covered one smiled a bit. "Well! That's a reli-" was all she got out before both of them exploded into glitter. Fiera stood there in shock while Henri took the opportunity to run and play in the falling bits of glowing confetti. "Henri don't- oh god no don't eat exploded me and you, please, sweetheart-" Fiera pleaded, pulling him away. Well, that confirmed it- the "time travel clone" she saw earlier was just an illusion put up by the mansion... right? Surely she hadn't just collapsed a time loop and destroyed a version of herself in the process. Er. Well. Hm. She'd have to think about it later, but there was a part of her that wasn't too concerned about it. What were they going to do, come back from the dead and slap her around the back of the head? They should have known better than to come to the mansion during Inkantana.

Once she brushed most of the people-glitter off of Henri, she was ready to go. It didn't take long for her and Henri to cross the field towards the front gate and push it open, especially not with Henri's enthusiastic skittering about. The gate swung open effortlessly, perhaps with the knowledge that she had outsmarted the mansion this time- or perhaps smugly, as it had outsmarted her. Honestly, time travel wasn't her strong suit and she still wasn't sure if she was supposed to be having an existential crisis over all of that. She'd think about it tonight- or, perhaps, she wouldn't, as accustomed to Horrors as she was. Either way though, she had indeed completed the main goal of this adventure- going on a walk with Henri- and that was all she really needed. Everything else was just an interesting side note in her life, and not something she needed to get worked up over.
