Vidarr uses Pounce and Harsh Gust Pounce brings Vidarr to the ground, his Dexterity is now 7 Vidarr's Dexterity of 7 + 2 rolled by staff = 9 vs. the 5 of Grunty Vidarr will deal the most damage possible Vidarr's Stamina of 11 + Harsh Gust's damage of 10 = 21 damage 21 - Grunty's Resistance of 6 = 15 Gruny's Stamina is now 5
Grunty uses Bash Grunty's Dexterity of 5 + 4 rolled by staff = 9 vs. the 7 of Vidarr Grunty will deal the most damage possible Grunty's Strength of 10 + Bash's damage of 6 = 16 damage 16 - Vidarr's Resistance of 5 = 11 Vidarr's Stone Skin reduces damage by 1 Vidarr's Stamina is now 1

Lethalia only had to witness the aftermath once to know that Vidarr is capable of making... quite an impact at his best - for it to feel like a solid landing even upon a thundergug made it all the more impressive. The cacophony of her own drake's pained squall reached her ears just before the phantom of his pain bloomed up her side; was getting the hit in worth becoming grounded, vulnerable? Vidarr stumbled away from the melee; he wasn't moving right, but he was still standing.
It was something astounding that the drake could not only survive a lightning strike, but a thundergug's direct hit - that was something unbelievable. Now having experienced it once, she could tell Vidarr was barely standing once again, and the 'gug is still close. No point in running now, is there? |Crunch, Vidarr!|
As far as the drake was concerned, the sand was still a mass of limbs and throbbing pain. For a few moments after impact, he wasn't entirely sure where either one of them began or ended, just like he hadn't even really seen that massive head swinging back at him. Everything felt bogged down, here in the sand. Vidarr rounded on the foe without another thought, blood throbbing in his eyes with the flooding of desperate rage in the frenzy of a drake trying to stay alive. They were so close, and he was so tired, it felt like he was lashing with his maw in entirely slow motion, and in no time at all.

As they had used it, so too was the same tactic brought to bear against them in turn. Were it not for the tension of the situation at hand, Aster might even have found it in him to be amused at it, in a grim sort of way. Unfortunately, there was no time to relax just yet. Both combatants were still standing. Neither of them looked to be in very good shape, but they were both still standing.
If only it had happened a little sooner--- the drake had landed again, and Aster didn't think Grunty would have much trouble hitting him at this range. But the 'Gug was reeling from the blow, and underneath the sensation of pain, clearly confused. He was no stranger to being hit, but nothing had ever struck him so hard. And very few things tended to survive a head on collision with him, for that matter.
[One more time,] Aster urged him. The drake was naturally faster on his feet, but he was also barely standing. Maybe, even at this range, his attacks would somehow swing wide. [Just a little more. If you can't move, just blast fire at him.]
Grunty's eyes focused, and he opened his maw, a spark igniting...

Vidarr uses Crunch! Vidarr's Dexterity of 7 + 4 rolled by staff = 11 vs. the 5 of Grunty Vidarr will deal the most damage possible Vidarr's Strength of 8 + 6 damage of Crunch = 14 damage 14 - Grunty's Resistance of 6 = 8 Grunty's Stamina is now -3
As hard as he tried, the Thundergug goes down with a heavy thud. The pit crew rush out to tend to both animals.
Results Vidarr gains 2 levels and Lethalia gains 3 pit prize points for winning Grunty gains 1 level and Aster gains 1 pit prize point for losing
