Ooooh, creak. Creeak. Those shouldn't sound that way. A bit dusty from lack of use, Ridelys' trod stirred into functionality via the chip implant. Destination: Playful pup. Task at hand: buy toys. List uploading. Received. Easing into standing up straight, the old droid's limbs and wings creaked with age and lack of maintenance. If it sounded as bad as previous shopping jobs, then this might be interesting. Printing list. List printing completed. A slip of paper spits out of the edge of its wrist as the droid enters the Playful pup shop. Was the shopkeeper nearby? It was chock o block full of toys and other entertaining objects to give to a creature. But there was a thing on the list; to send to a place that was not destination: home. "I Am heRe to BUY s0m3 toyZ." the droid announces itself if/when the shopkeeper notices them, passing over the list.
Buying: Handsewn orbaru plush 30c male pachee plush 25c female pachee plush 25c Total: 80c (no bartering used)
Mr. Simon was working on putting some of the plushies on different shelves. He was trying to figure out the best display to really show off how cute they were, but he really wasn't sure if this was what he wanted it to look like. He took a step back, putting his hand to his chin, and surveyed his work. "Hmm... I don't know..." He trailed off; and then heard the front door's bell ring. Ah, that was great! A customer! He jingled his way up to the front of the building, and laid eyes on a TROD it would seem! "Oh, hello there! Some toys, you say?" He laughs heartily afterward. "Sure sure, come right on in; what were you sent for? I could help you find what you need." He was grinning, of course. It would be difficult to get ole Mr. Simon down, that was for sure!
This human shopkeeper made a lot of noise when walking, it seemed. The trod's auditory sensors measured the decibel of his bell hat as it jingled upon his head during movement. A low decibel sound, classification: decorative bell. Noise factor: minimal. He asked what it was looking for. Access file: shopping list for toy store. File opening. Now viewing shopping list for toy store. "0nE OrbArU p1usH, hAndSWEñ." It started to read off. Lengthy amounts of speech only grated on the speaker worse. Eventually the aging wires would crack and break, and the trod would be rendered mute. "Tw0 PACHEEeee plUSh, one MalE, oNE fEEmaLe." The feedback alone might make someone or something with keen hearing cringe in pain. A pain signal pinged the motherboard of signals of the trod; the signal of bad speech ricocheted back to its user. Although its speech is bad, the trod still has good limbs, walking the isles with the man who made noises on his head, and collected each toy as pointed out. "HoW mUCh owED for t0yZ?" it asks. Execute command: close file shopping list. File closed. Awaiting price total. Query: Barter for lower price? Admin response: if buying, do NOT barter. Execute command: do not barter. Command accepted. Flat pricing sought. A small handful of credits slotted into the wrist compartment of the trod, ready to be dispensed for payment.
The shopkeeper nodded as the TROD issued the shopping list, or order, either worked well enough. "Sounds great to me!" He jangled as he stepped over to the orbaru plushes, and picked up the black and rainbow-colored one, and then over to the pachee plushes nearby, selecting a single male and female from each. Then he stepped over to the customer with them. "If these are all for you today, your total is 80 credits altogether. Will you be needing a bag today?" He reached over to go get one anyway, and deposited the items inside of it gently. He did feel a little bit off-kilter since he wasn't used to working with TRODs, and uh, was it just him or did this one seem a little broken? He wasn't really sure, he didn't really use one himself, at least not yet, but this one didn't seem quite right. It was one of the older models, right?
As the man picked each plush, the trod briefly scanned the object. Scanning. Scanning complete. Object: Orbaru plush. Handsewn. Abnormalities in stitching: negative. Usage of toy: Brand new. Scanning. Scanning complete. Object: Male Pachee plush. With each object, it scanned for abnormalities in the stitching, usage, etc. Taking note of some little features. The stamen poking out of each leaf on the male's tail, tipped with clinging fluff. The female's face with a deliberate pocket of miniscule depth stitched in. A very attentive maker created these toys. The admin would be very pleased with these choices of toys. New command: bring purchases to address sent. Command accepted; final destination of objects to uploaded address. "BaG plEASE. Yes" the trod answers when prompted for a bag. Eight coins of ten credits worth eject from the inner workings into the wrist slot, making chinking sounds. Turning its open palm over, the trod opens the dispenser door, the coins falling into its palm. The coins are placed in range of the shopkeeper on the counter. "E1ghtY crEDITs. ThaNKI U." For being an older model and more then a little broken, the droid still appeared sound enough in physicality to do a simple errand as go to the toy story. Right? -exit?-
The shopkeeper smiled as the credits were given, and then hands over the bag carefully. Then, he waves. "Thank you so very much, I hope to see you again!" From the looks of it though, they might not see this particular TROD again, at least not in it's current state. Would it even get home properly? Who knew? Mr. Simon tried not to worry so much as the TROD left with the items, and of course he counted the credits just in case there was some kind of accidental miscount, especially since the robot was in such disrepair. It looked like the TROD counted properly, that was good at least!
