The ssashirk appeared to have convinced himself that he was on the cusp of death as a result of the tearing of his own skin. How stupid sounding was that? Every ssashirk, hell, every reptile anything, has experienced at least one shed in their lives. [You've got two shadows. What the heck kind of trick is that.] No answer. Fine, the stranger creature decided. Got to everything myself. One sharp fingered gloved hand gripped the back of his skull, digging into the skin, and mistakenly tearing it. The hiss of pain of the drake went unnoticed with the creature practically trying to tear a hunk out of his scalp. Blindly, the drake lashed out with his tail and one long clawed limb, catching both somehow with a weakened strike. The creature gave a hiss, jumped back, and a chunk of ouch left the ssashirk who knelt there. {That hurt} Flare hissed. [And you are one screwed up individual.] the other remarked, prying claws out of the hunk of thick armored skin it had ripped away. 5.5 lv 37 flare

Before the drake could get a word in, the creature had a clawed grip on his snout, right at the forehead level. It garbled something in ssakash he couldnt' understand, and tore down and away. A sharp cry as Flare felt every inch of scale leaving his face, pulling at all the sensitive skin areas. [If dead men don't tell tales, then why are you here.] the creature sneered right in his face. Opening his eyes, Flare found himself staring at a bluish reptilian face. Holding a thick, dull, portion, of his scales in one coffee scaled clawed fist. With shaking, sand covered fingers, Flare felt his face. The scar was still there, still prevalant. And... he felt scales. Scales beneath the rough scales that covered his hands. Hunching forward, the drake stared into the water. From his forehead to his upper snout 'lip', the scales were no longer dusty, cracked or dull. A bright spanse of color blossomed, in oranges, reds, yellows and a few hints of blue or white.. 1.5

The ssashirk's mind... blanked. He blinked; the reflection blinked back. Turning his head one way, then the other. The reflection mirrored his movements. {Thats... really me.} he rasped, just in utter shock. The blueish reptile stepped back and away, peeling the scaled portion of face off their claws and tossing it aside. It made a noise hitting the sand; there was some weight to those scales. {Scales. More scales...} [And each time you shed, you have new scales beneath.] the reptile responded, flicking their claws to rid of any extra grit under the claw itself. [You won't die when you shed. Its healthy; and from what I can tell, you're a hell of a long time overdue.] {You should let me fall to pieces.} the wildfire drake mumbled. [You wouldn't be free. Its not that easy. Otherwise the balance of the world would be a lot worse then normal.] a pause, the gray eyes, now clear but troubled looked up. [If every person who screwed up on life the first time around had a second chance that quickly returned to them, there would be a hell of a lot more livin' men around.] {What would something like you know about that.} the spitting words left Flare's jaws before he had a chance to think about what he said. Before he knew it, the creature held him flat in the sand, a clawed hand ecompassing his throat, with a sharp clawed boot pressing into his chest hard enough to hurt. The blue face was way too close to him. It felt powerful; the air palpating with energy; eyes sharp and gold. [Learn some respect, whelp.] 2.5

[What I am... I am nothing your kind could even consider. Wretched barbarians of the east. You and your sand, and your red rocks. All hitting things and gold and no brains at all.] the creature declared angrily. The clawed hand on his throat made it slightly hard to breathe for Flare. The fact that such a statement angered this thing made no sense. [Be very proud, mortal male, that you even gaze upon my glorious self.] The light bounces off the creature's body, in so many shattered miniature lights that it hurts his eyes, he has to close them. To try and settle his spiked irritation. 'I am a placid one. I do not anger easily, no matter what hells are thrown at me. Verbal or otherwise.' he mantraed to himself, waiting for the creature to ease up hopefully on his throat. It really did hurt to have something trying to crush both windpipe and diaphragm without having to try. The light seemed to fade, and the creature hissed a few more explicitly angry things in the drake's ear flap. Unable to take much more of the lack of oxygen, Flare reached up to claw lightly at the other creature's chest, to try and push away. 3.5

The blue reptile removed clawed limbs from Flare as the drake had mustered enough strength to strike back. Weakly, but it was enough. It removed itself, and the pressure from both throat and chest. The ssashirk rolled away from it, coughing. Taking raspy, deeper breaths. {What are you} he managed to rasp out. The pressure of boot and glove on his chest and neck had torn more skin, and it prompted more fear response. His skin was ripping off of him! [Humankind of the south called our kind many names over the millenia. Dragons. Snakes. Winged reptiles. Amphitheres. Rude names, all of them.] The creature flung its arms out, spreading out what looked to be a cloak over its limbs. [ I am the embodiment of chaos. And only if you're lucky you can learn what my name is.] Smirking, it hooked one clawed finger under its jaw... and pulled up. The snake's face turned out to be a mask, elaborate and decoratively pretty. A humanoid face with coffee colored skin smirked back at him, with blue scales outlining the underside of his gold slitted eyes. Surely a females dream come true, perhaps. except flare was not a female. 4.5

{How do you know the language of the ssashirk. They only roam the desert.} Flare muttered stupidly. The humanoid creature sat back on a humanoid appearing backside, at least from the front. The chaos being's clothing still glinted in the light with movement but not to the point of such prismatic refraction. [Childish one, you know so little of the world.] he sneered. [You have so much to learn...] Flare sat up slowly, itchy and tight and aching. He wasn't in the right mindset or the mood to deal with this stupid other. [Now I know you've been unambitious, spiteful and a trifle vicious. Its no secret to me that you've stolen and you've lied.] The stiffening of Flare's spine was all the being needed to continue weaving his words into a net of deception. [I've seen you've done some double dealing, sealing, swindling and stealing. Such an amateur, but heaven knows you've tried.] The humanoid grins sharp teeth in his direction. Sharp carnivorous teeth. Ear flaps flattening to the sides, Flare shifted into crossing his arms with a flat expression. Or at least as much of one as a reptilian face can do. {I am not interested in your making fun of my flaws. Answer my question, or leave and let me fall to pieces.} he growls. 5.5 lv 38 flare ((drawing partial lyrics from It feels So good to be Bad from all dogs go to heaven 2))

[ But you'd develop so much faster, under working with a master. Who could help you build your darker side] the being started building to the climax of his mental pokingness, but the other just yawned. Yawned wide enough to tear the dull skin around the hinge of his mouth. His sing songness seemed to fall flat. [No? Some would give their souls to work under me.] another sneer, but the drake's baleful flat look held no interest in the least. The humanoid sat back, pursing their humanoid face into a pout. [No fun at all.] Flare made no move except to sit there. The cracks in his skin that were looser waving their open ends in the wind. [Not that I would take such a rag doll of a beast as yourself. Can't even look after your own scales.] {My kind don't ...didn't shed like...this.} the ssashirk muttered, gesturing weakly at himself. The being scoffed. [Of course not. I've seen patches when the skin burned and that was 'bout it or with a skin condition. I've never heard of growing into this.] Had to keep poking the now awake dragon, didn't it. A long sigh. [I'm sure you don't want to roast in the sun all afternoon. You should at least try to start sluffing some of that old skin off.] What. 1.5

With Flare's blank look, the masked humanoid gestured at around him. [Roll in the sand. Use rocks, get wet. That sort of thing.... ringing any bells?] Head shake of no. [You must've pissed something off upstairs to have no instincts on proper shedding.] A frustrated sigh rattled from the humanoid, muttering audibly about nothing going right today. [Help yourself damnit. Go soak in that lake.] Confused, Flare just continued to stare blankly. What. [Get up, go in lake. Sit in lake. Soak. Very easy, even for the brainless.] The creatureesque humanoid gestured with gloved hands. Mostly of the mind that he was still falling to pieces, the drake twisted around slowly to crawl his way into the lake. Somewhere in the mud and sand he'd misplaced his crutch and damned if it showed he had a bad leg in addition to falling apart at the seams. The water lapped against his limbs as the drake crawled his way, sheddy and miserable, into being neck deep when sitting in the water. 2.5

If there was anything positive to say about his present situation, it was that scales retained more heat then straight skin. The water felt pleasantly cool against his weary and itchy body, lapping against his neck and the upper edges of his tattered wings. Flare had no meaning to it, but the pleasant... niceness of it all led him to give a small, quiet hum of contentment. [See, feels good, right?] The humanoid asks him. [Softens up the scales so they're easier to shed against a rough surface. Its less of an issue with jungle dwelling lizard folk. Lots of water, lots of water in the air. Keeps the scales more moist and what not.] Barely listening to the thing on the surface talk, the dusty drake leaned his head back in the water, allowing the dried out strands of red hair to drift on the surface of the water. One could assume they looked like dried out red strands that could be saffron, when not attached to his head. It felt really good. Almost as good as Offal massaging his scalp during his first haircut. Offal had done a very good job of taking care of his hair, where as he had not. 3.5

For the being of chaos, watching the defective ssashirk relaxing in the water grew boring quickly. Half a thought crossed their mind of turning it into a water fight. Just to be an arse and all. However, it hadn't escaped their notice of the ssashirk had not risen to his feet to get into the water, opting to crawl like a toddling human baby into the water instead. The creature had been limping. [Why didn't you just get up and walk in.] they finally decided to ask. {Can't. Bad leg.} the drake murmured, the water level nearly lapping his eye ridges as he wove his head slowly back and forth in the water. It dislodged some smaller chunks of scale that were pulled loose by the chaos being's claws earlier. However this guy managed to have hair and scale together, that would be something to hear. From whatever or whomever decided to leave this... abomination of species walking the earth. Had half a mind of what too. 4.5

{I can understand you... I don't know all the language of the desert ssa...} the thought crossed Flare's mind as he soaked. {How is this possible...} [ I'm the embodiment of chaos; wouldn't be me if I couldn't speak to anyone and everyone somehow.] The creature responded. {I can talk like you if it makes things any easier for your brain to comprehend.} An absent swish of his hand half in the water... the drake did not care. He could understand, even if the desert ssa language variant grated his ear and made his blood boil internally and figuratively. It was something he did understand some of, being a requirement to be partially bilingual in the core. The core huh, the chaos being wondered as the thought crossed the drake's mind. What was the core. If they dug too deep while the drake was awake, the strain on the mind might cause a major problem. Curious as it was, it wasn't here or there right now. [When you're done having a good time soaking, you should come out and start rolling around the stones.] the creature instructed him. 5.5 lv 39 flare

It puzzled Flare to be asked to roll on the stones, especially while wet. Hm. Taking a deep breath, the drake ducked his head underwater, allowing himself to be fully submersed. There weren't any bodies of water in Tumai to his knowledge that were deep enough to swim in. To hang in suspension like this, just resting beneath the surface, felt... a bit daunting. The water stung at his eyes when he opened them up, seeing the murky water sloshing around just above his snout. Before his lungs could start crying out for oxygen, the drake smacked the loch bottom with his tail, forcing his head up above water. Coughing and retching a bit, the drake breathed fresh air and not water. The chaos being hadn't left either. In fact, they were too busy laughing their tail feathers off (if this creature even had a tail), fully ignoring the flat expression that crossed Flare's face as he awkwardly rolled about in the water, trying to right himself. 1.5

[If you didn't have such long limbs, you might pass for a winged crocodile!] The chaos creature crowed, utterly ecstatic with laughter. Making exaggerated chomping motions with its arms. Until a rock, no more then a pebble, struck it in the temple of its mask. The laughter stopped, the head turned towards the righted and damp ssashirk, half standing, half kneeling in the water with a small handful of stones in his large hand. [You didn't.] Strike. The pebble bounced off the mask again. The ssashirk's eyes told little of his emotions while he wore no intention on his face. But the bloodlust from this creature gave the chaos being a slight pause. Hadn't given it much thought that the ssashirk, though defective, addled of the mind and just plain wrong in all spiritual sense, could be a danger to itself. Had enough of a wrist to throw, it seemed. [Don't do that.] it remarked. It was a task to stand there with most of his weight distributed between tail and his good leg. 2.5

All the twisting of his trunk and torso had started to tear up his shedding skin around those areas. The chaos being could see the vibrancy of those wildfire scales; not many ssashirk, jungle ssashirk particularly, were that flamboyantly colorful scalewise. Bright? yes. Decorated by frills, spines and feathers? yes. But not this vibrant. However, this wrong creature was throwing rocks at him, and acting like he hadn't done a thing. There was poking fun at the being, and then there was declaring a silent all out war. Fine, it wasn't above a little scuffling. Flare had very little time to react before the creature before him vanished, and he found himself being lifted, literally lifted off his feet, and thrown into the gravel of the beach. Ow. Good thing he'd been keeping the wings shut as much as possible against his back, or that would've snapped the bones right then and there. The creature turned around, and Flare swore it teleported, it moved that fast. 3.5

For a being of chaos, the creature had very little definition of that itself. The gloves and boots it wore to cover 'hands' and 'feet' were tipped with short claws and the mask dropped over its humanoid face to shield it from damages. Or it just cared for its looks that much. Fought like one of those alleyway street fighters he recalled seeing in his youth. The ones another bigger taller person had to pull off of him, and then lay waste upon. The two reptillian figures scratched at each other, rolling and twisting around in the gravel. If anyone else had walked past, the amount of noise the two humanoids made could have been highly misinterpreted. [Give up?] The blue chaos creature hissed in Flare's ear, holding his head firmly into the gravel. The gray eyes glanced backwards without warning, as the sharp tipped tail came to live and smacked the other in the back of the head. Dislodging the mask and making it fall off. {Never} 4.5
