She thought with enough perseverance the distance looked possible to make, but Fanged was a little out of shape compared to what she used to be. She bunched up her legs and raised her left hand as high as she could. She then leaped up and tried to slap the flower into the indentation. Bingo barked excitedly and nipped at her heels as she jumped. The first jump was unsuccessful, but Fanged managed to slot the flower in securely on the second one.
“And success!” she exclaimed happily.
She leaned down and ruffled the fur on top of Bingo’s head. She then moved over to the next wall and repeated the process for each flower and its corresponding coloured wall. When she was finished, the pink wall began to shake. Bingo barked at it when it began to move away from them, whirring with mechanics as it turned and disappeared into the floor.

Bingo calmed down once the wall had disappeared completely. Now, the two of them approached cautiously to find out what was behind it. To her surprise, Fanged felt the increasingly familiar thrum of magic that was strong in the presence of magic crystals. Her apprehension was immediately replaced with relief. Hidden in the space where the wall had been was a remnant crystal and a few other items of interest. Fanged gathered them all up and placed them securely in her backpack. Bingo wagged her tail and lolled her tongue out of her mouth once all the treasure had been gathered up.
“Alright, well I don’t think we need to stay in this room any longer. Why don’t we explore some new areas?” Fanged suggested.
Bingo appeared fine with that decision. She followed Fanged as the woman chose one of the doors to head through. She ended up choosing the one that was attached to the pink wall.

To her surprise, the door led her to fresh air. The garden of the mansion was bright with spring flowers and newly budding trees. Fanged took a moment to inhale deeply, glad to be outside and back under the sunshine. She decided that she and Bingo could stay out for a while and explore around the area.
“Might as well enjoy the sun while we can.”
It was late in the afternoon now and the sun was already low in the sky. Soon it would sink into the horizon and nighttime would arrive. Fanged took a moment to take in her surroundings. The garden was quiet except for the sound of Bingo romping around. The garden was littered with a cascade of pink petals that blew from the trees. The blossoms were out in full bloom, though she couldn’t see any of the trees close to the area that they had wound up in.

Bingo decided to chase after the petals that were in her reach. She skidded through a pile of them, sending a bunch swirling into the air as she hit them with her paws. Fanged watched her with a quiet glee. She watched for a few moments longer before deciding to do a check for danger. The area was silent for the most part. Fanged always expected to run into people in an area like this, but the mansion seemed always void of other people. She wondered for a moment if it was based on intention. Fanged tended to be a solitary person. That came from the trauma, she knew enough about things to conclusively understand that. If she changed her attitude towards others, would she find herself running into more people? Most people only interacted with her when they needed something. That was why she liked her creature companions. They liked her no matter what.

With the two of them now outside, Fanged decided that she would get Bingo to run out some of her energy. It would also work in the long run to build up her endurance. First, Bingo would need some motivation to get her body moving. She started by having the Vulticus follow her. She was happy to oblige with the command and followed Fanged over to the edge of the garden path. Fanged decided to start them off with a slow jog. She might not be as athletic as she used to be, but she was by no means out of shape. Bingo was still a puppy and her energy would come in small bursts. They’d need to work around that. The garden of the mansion would be spacious enough for them to run around. Fanged didn’t know how far it stretched, but she started by heading over towards a blossoming tree.

They jogged the entire distance before Fanged stopped. Bingo, still following the command, stopped as well. She began to pant, a little out of breath from the exercise. When they stopped, Fanged quickly gave Bingo a piece of jerky as a treat. The little Vulticus wagged her tail, suddenly excited by the prospect of earning more treats. When Bingo was properly rested up, they prepared to jog some more. Fanged marked the next location in her head. There was another plum blossom tree a couple hundred meters away.
“Bingo, follow!” Fanged commanded her as she set the pace at a jog once more.
Bingo was eager to match her pace. Jogging was something new to her and therefore, that made it all the more exciting! The path made jogging easier. They didn’t have to traverse harsh terrain. Instead, they enjoyed a leisurely pace down an even path. They only stopped when they reached the blossom tree.

When they stopped, Fanged was quick to give Bingo a treat for keeping up with her. Bingo accepted it without hesitation and ate quickly. She then took some time to look around the area that they had jogged to. The path split into a fork and Fanged would need to decide which one to take. A quick glance at Bingo verified that the Vulticus preferred the righthand path.
“Bingo follow!” Fanged commanded her again once she was ready for more jogging.
They set out at a slightly faster pace this time. Bingo had more endurance than she had anticipated, so Fanged was ready to make things a bit more challenging for her. Bingo was happy to move a little faster. Keeping up with Fanged was fun! The woman made things interesting by running them past interesting scents and sights. Spring flowers bloomed around them, colouring the scenery in bright yellow and dark purple.

Fanged took Bingo a little longer before stopping and giving her another piece of jerky. Bingo wagged her tail and gingerly took the treat. She was a little tired, but still glad to keep up with the training. Fanged decided they could take a quick break. She didn’t want to tucker the baby Vulticus out too quickly. Bingo lay at her feet for a moment and Fanged gave her a belly rub while they both cooled down. After the Vulticus stopped panting, the two of them were ready to jog again.
“Okay Bingo. Next we’ll head for that strange hedge.” Fanged squinted into the sunlight as she saw a hedge decorated with a bunch of colourful eggs. “Follow me!”
Bingo immediately perked up. The quick break had done wondered to rejuvenate her and she was ready for more jogging. Fanged set off at a fast jog, aiming to make it to the hedge.

The hedge was quite a distance away still. Bingo was pushed the furthest she had been so far, but she appeared to be managing alright. In the last few meters before they reached the hedge, Fanged broke out into a sprint. Bingo automatically chased after her, partly still following the command she had been given and the other part due to her chase instincts being activated. When they reached the hedge, Fanged stopped and praised Bingo.
“Fantastic work girl! I didn’t think you’d be able to run so fast!”
She reached down and gave Bingo a good scratch behind her ears. Bingo sat down for a rest, panting but immensely pleased with herself. She had strong fitness already, so it wouldn’t take too long to get her to learn proper running technique. Fanged would test to see how well she could keep up with sprints and once they had gotten the hang of that, she’d see how well Bingo could fair on her own.

A lone figure stands guard over a glowing blue lander. It watches you training with an unreadable expression, perhaps judging you from afar? It doesn't seem incline to either move closer or to run away... Interesting. Perhaps you should try to tame it...?

April Fanged had decided to give Bingo a rest when the first part of their training had been accomplished. The Vulticus lay down, her tail wagging happily as she took a chance to rest. After a few moments of rest, Bingo raised her head and pricked her ears forward. There was something curious out in the distance. Fanged directed her attention to the shape that had captured Bingo’s interest. She had never seen a creature like that before, though she had found living beings in the mansion before. This one was new to her. She needed to be analytical in her approach. The creature appeared unconcerned with the two of them. It was watching them train. Clearly their presence was of some note, even if it didn’t appear inclined to approach them or fight them off. For now, she needed to keep things friendly. The creature was standing next to a blue, glowing lantern. Perhaps it liked the look of them or something. First, she needed to see how comfortable the creature actually was with her being around it. She called out a greeting. “Hello there, pretty fella! I haven't seen anything like you before!” (Bingo 18 1/5, 36 1/5) 1

Hump. It was being addressed? The creature tilted its head up high, still staring in your direction. You might gather the faint impression that it's looking down its nose at you. It stares for a little while before stomping a delicate front hoof and looking away, as if it doesn't care at all for your presence. It's ears, however, remain completely trained in your direction. Hmm. Perhaps it's still cautious, after all, it certainly doesn't look like it wants to get any closer...

The creature appeared rather unamused with her presence. If anything, it was snootily judging her. She wasn’t quite certain how she would get it to warm up to her, but she was eager to try. Bingo had less reservations than she did about spooking the creature, but she was rather nervous around it. She glanced up anxiously at Fanged waiting for the woman to tell her how to handle the situation. It didn’t take too long for her to get an idea. In her backpack, she had already accumulated a lot of lanterns that were similar to the one that was being guarded by the mansion creature. Perhaps it would have an interest in more! She shrugged her backpack off of her shoulders and dug through it until she came across the green lantern she had found earlier. She pulled it out of her bag and held it up for the wild creature to see. "Look I have one of those too! Would you like a green one as well?" she asked the creature. (Bingo 18 2/5, 36 2/5) 2

The two-legged creature seemed to be at a loss, at first. Good. It stomped a hoof again, hoping that it would just get bored and go away eventually. However, it looked as if it had something up its sleeve... It pulled out another lantern and the creature couldn't help but turn its head in that direction, looking over with apparent curiosity. It took a step closer and seemed to think about it, before stopping and stomping its hoof again, still nervous.
