Ah, that made perfect sense! Her nodding was really nice, she was so pleasant and kind. He really appreciated that, in a clan that could oftentimes squabble so heavily! Everyone was pretty hot-tempered in his clan, though his grandfather was a bit tempered with age admittedly. He continued to paint, and he knew that it would come out excellently. The composition of what he was watching was super nice; her lovely slate grey-blue matched the gorgeous rock and trellis. However, he wasn't nearly as close to what he was really excited about as what he wanted to be... The lovely light dappling down on her scales. She probably scarcely knew it, but she was really lovely in the light there. "I have no hatchlings yet either, my dear." He said, without even realizing that he was being so polite. "You can call me Lew if you want to!" He said, grinning at her as he did so, and stopping the process for just a moment.

"Lew!" she said happily, bobbing her head as she wondered what else she could ask him. He was lovely, truly, in both body and spirit it seemed, and she wished she could pick his brain about things, but she was still a little shy, and she couldn't articulate what she wanted to in the first place. Sighing in frustration, she flicked away a little rock, then froze, wondering if that was part of the painting. "Lew!" she said again, and motioned toward the rock, wondering if she needed to get it again. The painting looked so good, she really hoped she hadn't ruined it. Did she really look like that? Hemma leaned forward a little and smiled toothily, no, he had to have taken some artistic licensing with that, she couldn't look like that, at least she didn't in the water and the polished metals they had back home or anything. He must be playing with her.

Aww, she was really sweet and it showed. He was very appreciative of her kindness and vibrancy, though she did seem a little anxious, perhaps, beneath her gaze? Or maybe it was something else entirely... Lumiere was not the best and most impressive example of an individual that knew others. Sure, he liked to paint other draconics a whole lot, but he didn't know them personally. It was really nice to get to talk to one of them. "Oh no, no dearie. You're fine." He tapped his head. "Good memory, Hemma." Then he grinned at her again. He was just starting the way the light fell on her scales, and he already had that memorized too. He was getting it all fixed up. Just the lightest dabs here, and the most careful strokes there... Oh, it was perfect! Of course the model was the real reason for it. He turned his impressionistic painting for her to see-it full-front now. "You look lovely, don't you?" He said.

Hemma's tail twitched this way and that, her charm glittering in the dappled light around her. She stared at the painting and then back at Lumiere, then back to the painting again. "Hemma?" she asked, pointing at herself and then at the painting in surprise. She didn't look like that! The Draconic lady in the painting was much too pretty and sure of herself, unlike her it seemed. Daintily, she picked her way forward and then sat next to her painter and stared at him for a moment before nudging into his shoulder with her forehead. She couldn't believe his talent! Honestly, she didn't have anything like that, she just cared for the little ones, that was about all she was good for, but this... to be able to do this, she couldn't believe it, and it bothered her that she had no hidden talents like that. Shyly looking at her new friend, she moved her claws side to side in uncertainty, and then she edged closer to him, "Lew.... paint?" Maybe... maybe she could try?

Lumiere found his eyes drawn to the way her tail twitched, and it made him smile again. Kitava were such lively individuals, with such graceful movements. Even the most ungraceful among all of them just had something that other draconics did not when it came to that field, and Hemma was certainly not the most ungraceful! In fact, he was quite enamored with her; a shame if she didn't wind up liking him back. But they could go slow if she wanted to. "Yes, it's you." He said. "See the slate grey?" He smiled, pointing at it, and then he pointed at her hide. "You really are quite beautiful, Hemma." He was amazed that she was so unsure of it! "Yes, if you'd like to paint you can!" He pulled out another canvas, and then replaced the one he just finished so that he could lay it to dry. "Here are some paints for you." He said, offering some of his tubes and his palette board. "With your fingers and claws." He said, wiggling his fingers around to show the blots of paint on the tips.

If Hemma had the ability to blush, she would. Her, beautiful? No, he must be mistaken. But when he pulled out the other canvas and paints and told her to go ahead, showing her how to put the paint on her claws, she hopped from side to side for a moment before looking him over and then looking at the paints. Brightening up, she selected an orange color and squirted some on her foreclaw. Happily, she applied the orange to the canvas, a small circle on top of a bigger circle, with four little lines coming down the bottom. Another line came around from the back of the big circle, ending in a club like tip, before she moved and squiggled some lines out from the sides of the big circle as well. She bounced side to side again and peered at Lumiere for a moment before putting a big of blue on another claw and putting two dots on the smaller circle. Then, triumphantly, she presented it to him, "Lew!"

In all honesty, it was Lumiere that felt super embarrassed- mostly for being so frank with her about her beauty. But she deserved to know that she was beautiful, regardless! He had to be really serious about it, because it was a disservice to her to not tell her. He watched her as she got the paint on her claws and he was excited to see what she would do. Even if she wasn't good at it, he'd love to see it all the same. He wanted something to remember her by, he thought, with embarrassment that actually flushed his cheeks in light. He was sure that pops would make fun of him whenever he found out that he was too shy to really... Talk to her. He watched, happily, as she drew him a stick figure, of him! It was the cutest, most adorable thing ever. "Oh, it's beautiful Hemma!" He cried, gently touching her shoulder. "You did a great job for your first time." He meant it.

Beaming, Hemma bounced from side to side again and then leaned up against him with a happy sigh. She'd done it! It looked terrible in her eyes, but it was a start, and maybe if he helped her, then she could get better! Hemma looked over at the painting he had done of her and smiled, she would never be as good as he was, but it had been calming, working with paints, and any insecurities she had about herself had evaporated while she painted, maybe it was the concentration or something. She really liked him, and it would be sad if he didn't like her, maybe they could even... "Lew.... Hemma?" the Draconic asked suddenly, shyly, pointing first at him and then at herself, tail twitching a little as she glanced over to where the Clutch Temple was. Oh! How forward of her, and she dropped her head a bit for being so bold.

Awww, she was really cute. She was even more cute when she bounced like though. Oh; and she was, oh wow she was close. He blushed even deeper, and had to close his eyes comfortably for a second. He'd remember this, when she undoubtedly had to go eventually. He really liked to be around her. "Would you like lessons, Hemma? We could come out here-" He was trying to use his hands to make sure that she understood as well. "Sometimes and I can show you." He said, grinning. Then, then she spoke. "Oh, do I like you? Oh, I really do like you... Do you like me Hemma?" He was also pointing between them, blushing even harder. Had he found love without even trying to? Well, that was the saying, wasn't it? He followed her gaze, to the clutch temple. Oh, he was gonna blush so much that he would sink, he was sure of it. "Oh, Hemma, of course." He said shyly. Now it was his turn to nudge into her shoulder. He was embarrassed, but it was a good embarrassed, he decided.

She could tell he was a little nervous, so was she. What was she thinking anyway? She was being so forward! Oh he must hate her now, but then he answered and... oh! Hemma lifted a foot and then placed it back on the ground with a shy look on her face as she flapped her wings experimentally. "Lew..." Hemma said softly, leaning forward to put her forehead to his. It helped that they were the same size, though he was certainly smarter than she was, and he could talk really well. She couldn't wait to see what might happen. Hopping back and forth again out of excitement, she jumped into the air then and hovered over him, laughing a little. Had she found what she didn't realize she was looking for? If so, then today was completely worth leaving the cavern, and to meet him again to learn to paint, to play with the hatchlings... Life couldn't get any better.

He was so worried that she would think him too speedy to accept her proposal about going to the clutch temple, but he had really, really been hoping to find love some day, and well; if she wanted that then he was more than happy to provide. He wanted to have hatchlings some day too, and well, it didn't hurt to have them sooner rather than later. Whenever she leaned forward and placed her forehead to his, he thought he would faint from happiness. Oh, she was so cute and sweet, and she was also very enthusiastic. Her beauty in spirit was even better than that of her form of course. He gently turned his head from side to side, ever so slightly to rub his forehead. "Hemma." He said, in a whisper, and then there she was again; leaping! Her enthusiasm was infectious! For once, he was speechless, and he just... Wanted to be around her for as long as possible.
