Langley had a crush. A crush that they were trying to figure out how to DRAW. Oh, this was too good. Fiera could do too much with this. At some point her humming had risen into some sort of shrieking gurgle as she tried not to laugh, to the point where Langley finally noticed. The brownie harachiu leaned over, an eyebrow quirked, but still too polite to say anything as their owner appeared to break into some sort of... standing seizure. After a few moments, they finally broke the silence, opening their mouth and looking the other way until sound finally decided to come out of it. "Uh... Fiera? Are you... ok over there?" They said, cringing slightly. Fiera simply giggled again. "Yeeees yes yes yes, I'm fine dear!" She said with a slight trill in her voice before pointedly doing something that wasn't gardening. Instead she turned to Langley, shears closed.

"Say, what's got you so interested in drawing trees all of a sudden anyway?" She said with a wide grin that meant any pretense of subtlety had been brutally beaten to death with a shovel and its corpse lazily hidden in the dumpster behind a fast food restaurant. Langley looked stricken, as if they had just witnessed that very murder. "Oh uh well, they're quite common figures in art is all! They appear so frequently and are often used to frame other parts of the image, so I figured it was... something I had better, uh... get on." They paled as Fiera loomed. "Oh?" She said, twitching her ears. "And you're sure that there isn't someone ELSE that you'd rather get on?" She said, watching as Langley's face instantly went red. She cackled madly. Oh, this was TOO good. Screw gardening- she was going to work on THIS for the rest of the week.

The winter cold isn't terrible for everyone! This koguma has a warm coat to keep it warm, and some berries to snack on... which it is doing while it watches you interact, like it's a fun movie. To tame the creature: Make between 3-5 posts interacting with the creature and trying to tame it. At the end of your taming attempt, make your last post with [done] and wait for staff approval.

And yet, just before Fiera left the gardens, something else caught her eye. It was pale and colorless, just like the rest of the snow coating the fields, but a flash of orange was what caught Fiera's eye. A moving flash of orange. As she turned her head, it almost appeared as if the berry was floating, but soon the rest of the creature filled itself into her vision before her. A koguma- the kind with the puffy white coats. They weren't as soft as they looked though- their hairs were insectine bristles, keeping the creature itself warm but being useless for any sort of pelt or clothing. It seemed surprised that Fiera noticed it- it had been staring right at her and Langley, but the sudden eye contact must have been shocking for it. It was as if it hadn't realized that the attention given could go both ways.

"Well hey there... buddy." Fiera said, trying to stay calm. It wasn't as if the creature was doing her any harm, after all. The berry it was holding wasn't one that she kept planted in her garden. In fact, she didn't recognize it at all, which meant that it likely wasn't one that had been stolen from her. "How would you like to be part of the show?" She said with a chuckle. If it was happy to watch, then that meant that the creature couldn't be TOO afraid of her. After all, it had been observing her observations for who knew how long up until now, and Fiera certainly didn't seem dangerous or on the hunt. It seemed pretty curious about her actually- it waggled her antennae in her direction as she called out to it, holding its berry close to its chest but not stepping any further away either.

If the koguma wasn't going to step further away however, that just meant that Fiera got to step closer. She kept it slow and steady, only moving a few inches at a time. If the creature pinned its antennae back or fluffed itself out to look bigger, she'd simply stop again, waiting for it to calm down so she could move forward again. Langley on the other hand was still trying to pretend they didn't exist- the fact that Fiera was distracted by something other than their love life was a huge boon to them. They flopped down in the snow, trying to soothe the burning shame on their cheeks. Fiera on the other hand would probably feel quite a different form of shame if anyone saw her like this, squatting down low and making little encouraging cooing noises at this grown creature to try and get it to let her pet it.

To its credit though, it seemed quite brave. It had shuffled its feet nervously a couple times during Fiera's approach, but it hadn't bolted or acted aggressive yet. Koguma weren't normally dangerous mind you, but they did put up quite a fuss if you tried taking their food from them. This one didn't seem to want that to happen though, as it quickly turned behind itself and stuffed the berry into the snow as if trying to hide it from Fiera before she saw it and wanted it too. "Uh... I think the ship has sailed on that one, buddy." She said, amused by its antics. "Still, that means its just you and me! It's not the berry I'm interested in, its you!" SHe said in a voice she hoped came off as sweet. "Come over here, I'll give you some nice scritches!" She said, holding out hand with long, scritchy nails.

The koguma approached nervously, gently tapping Fiera's hand with its antennae to pick up her scent. When she didn't make any sudden movements however, she let her sink her fingers into its stiff mane. She gently traced her fingerprints along the seams of its exoskeleton, scratching gently at where the hairs emerged from the chitin. The insect made a faint buzzing sound as she did so, leaning into her hand. She laughed slightly as the creature nearly fell over in its eagerness to get petted. "You like that, huh?" She said, adding her other hand to the mix as well. "You know, there's plenty where that came from if you come home with me!" She said, raising her eyebrows. She pulled back and stood up again, walking back to Langley. Sure enough, she heard crunching in the snow behind her and glanced back- the koguma was following her doggedly. Perfect- another fine addition to her harvest.

The Koguma stops. Is it going to leave? Nope! It just found a Bunana and looks at it curiously as if considering something. [Congrats! You've tamed the Koguma!]

Some would say that bringing a baby tat-lung out this far was a bad idea. Fiera couldn't see the harm, though- the biggest threat to the young crystal tat-lung was himself. She hadn't spent time with Raiyo in a while, and the little creature was going a bit stir-crazy without any adventures to go on. He had plenty of room to swim and companions to play with at the kennels, but he was a bit too much of a trouble maker to be satisfied with that for long. He had a longstanding habit of knocking tank structures over, nipping fins, and just generally making a nuisance of himself. Fiera had gardening to do today, and the other tat-lungs had practically INSISTED that Fiera bring the little fish along. He was the smallest of all his companions, and yet he was somehow the most insufferable as well. And now he was HER problem. Fiera 1 Raiyo 4.1/4.1 1

Tenmei had been especially insistent that Fiera take him along, even loading him up into his travel globe for her and shoving it at her before she left. As the oldest of the tat-lung school, Tenmei most often found herself having to deal with the antics of the rest of them... and her patience was starting to grow a little thin. Apparently "baby sitter" was not a job the lapis tat-lung had signed up for, and she was making that known. Well, Fiera was happy to take care of her own creatures for a while. She... should be doing that anyway, she supposed with a slight laugh. She could tell that Raiyo was getting tired of walking, though- she could feel him beating against the glass of his carrier, apparently doing quite a good job of trying to concuss himself. She chuckled and reached back to give the glass a tap.

"Settle down, we're almost there." She said, trying to keep him distracted. The crystal tat-lung was held in an odd contraption. Apparently she wasn't the only one that had the problem of transporting trying to transport young tat-lungs. They were the size of koi fish, but were as intelligent as a toddler at this age, so it wasn't really right to leave them in a pond all day... but as aquatic creatures, they were rather difficult to take to new places without hurting them. Thankfully, someone had come up with a solution- a travel tank that resembled a fish bowl to a degree, but with straps, shaped glass, and padding to turn it into more of a backpack. This allowed Fiera to pack him up and take him with her without the dangers that a normal tank and a wagon (or some other carrying device) offered. He couldn't tip over and spill out like this.

The top of the tank even had a special sealed lid that kept the water from splashing out (unless she turned it upside down, she supposed), but allowed air to flow in, filtering into the water as it sloshed around. It wasn't the most comfortable for either of them considering how large Raiyo was in comparison to the size of the tank, and how heavy the pack was on Fiera, but it worked well enough for short trips like this where she was really only ultimately going to be transferring him into a larger body of water. And thankfully they were nearly there. The winding paths between the different gardens in this sectioned off portion of the city could take a while to traverse, but Fiera knew the path to her own patch of greenery by heart by this point, even if she hadn't owned it for that long in the grand scheme of things.

The white picket fence was bright and cheery as she approached, and it only took her a moment to undo the latch and enter, the gate opening quietly on its well greased hinges. She could hear Raiyo fluttering about in the tank, keeping a careful eye on his environment. It must have been clear to him that they had finally arrived SOMEWHERE, even if he didn't quite know where yet. The gravel that made up the main path of her garden crunched under her feet as she made her way through it. Raiyo paused, floating as if in midair as he looked at the environment passing by. While tat-lung grew up into creatures that could both fly and swim, in their infancy the world outside of water was a very alien one indeed. Considering he was normally kept safe and snuggled up in a pond, Fiera figured it must look very strange to him.

The distortion from the glass couldn't have helped, as it made every tree sliding by his vision twist and whirl like a funhouse mirror. The sky was a far away ocean, studded with foamy breakers. Flowers were likely little more than distant colorful blobs... though there wasn't a ton of those around right now. Spring was taking its sweet time closing in, and while Fiera was sure it would be here soon, her plants didn't quite agree with her. A couple had put out a few exploratory leaves here and there, but the cold snaps that kept striking every so often would quiet them down again quickly, sending those baby green leaves spiraling back down to the ground. The trees might be ready to try again later, but she had to be patient if she wanted to replant her annual flowers. They were a lot less hardy, and a single late chill could kill them.
