Renathan is extremely proud to see this! She was really getting the trick, and that was good. Renathan quickly picked up a small treat from his bag of the seeds for her, so that she could have another. He holds the seed between two of his claws before leaning forward and giving it to her, handing it to her front limbs. She brings it up to her beak and continues to gnaw on it until she was able to get to the seed within the seed shell. Renathan waits until she is finished with the seed and gets rid of the seed shell, he calls out the command again. "Auburn, Tseetsi!" She once again bobs her head down, which was super cute! Renathan gives her another side, and smiles as she holds the seed and quickly gnaws it open. After she eats her seed, he runs her through a few of her old commands, and then tries the new command again. He is quite pleased with how well she runs through the list! Then Renathan decided it was time to go home. He had things to do before taking his equillion out later today.

Well. Today was the day; and that was a scary situation. Renathan was really afraid that, well, he'd either get out of today with a dead jibiji or a familiar so frightened that it could never be remedied. That was definitely not good; but he had to do this so that she wouldn't be frozen in future when confronted by a strange or large attacking creature. He hoped that she would be able to get away, really. Renathan took the unsuspecting jibiji to the training table, and sits her down carefully. He looks at her carefully, his eyes slitting. He wanted to get her used to the idea first. So he had brought a whole bunch of different kinds of creatures today. He wanted to test her out with the less powerful and scary ones first; and then ramp it up to get her used to them. He swallows thickly, and then asks her to step up onto his finger.

(Just here for training; not gaining levels)
Renathan holds the jibiji out on his finger and asks her to stay put, and then he makes his way over to the first cage at a slow pace, concerned for a moment. He had picked the creature that looked the most demure while also being pretty scary at first; that way the jibiji would hopefully get used to the 'scary aura' without being affected by genuine terror just yet. As Renathan gets closer to the cage, however, the avian already seemed to be getting pretty nervous. Shebang was a galabex that naturally exuded fright; and Renathan knew that the jibiji would be affected by this. As they finally come face to face with the galabex, it is obvious that the jibiji is terrified of the galabex. She is shaking, but perfectly still, afraid of the animal. A creature with less loyalty would probably have bolted, he guessed. Renathan stands there, resolutely, as the galabex stretches out in the cage. Renathan would let her out later, after the training of course.

The little bird seems super afraid, even though the galabex is not doing anything in specificity; she's just really lounging around. Renathan knew that she was a spirited creature from experience, but he was glad that he caught her during a restful time so that she wouldn't antagonize the jibiji any more than just naturally being around her would do. The jibiji is certainly terrified; and Renathan is not sure what to do about it. It really tugs on his heartstrings to feel the jibji so scared on his hand, literally shaking with terror. He holds the jibiji close to him for a moment, petting her on her head and cooing softly. Yes, it was going to be okay. See, the big scary creature wasn't going to hurt you... He then holds the jibiji out on his finger again, and let her watch the sleepy galabex again. The galabex opens her mouth and shows off all the little teeth; sending the tiny creature into trembles again.

Renathan holds the little jibiji out for about five minutes, and then he gets closer. The jibiji obviously does not want to get any closer; but she doesn't move from Renathan's hand. She stands resolute there, trembling. He begins to walk around the cage, drawing some of the attention of the galabex. She looks up at the tiny jibiji, obviously thinking of her as a delicious snack. She wouldn't be able to get out of the cage; but she still looks nonetheless. The jibiji definitely notices this; and what she does surprises Renathan; she puffs up angrily; her feathers are all floofed out in a surprise! The galabex definitely looks shocked at the sudden display; and she seems a little more confident. Still shaking like a leaf in the wind; but she seems just a tad more confident. Renathan is glad for this; he just wants her to do well; in all honesty. To not be stopped in her metaphorical tracks by bigger animals.

Renathan was glad that the very first step; the display of aggression, was out of the way; which would be good, but she really wasn't doing a whole lot quite yet. He hoped to show her to an even scarier creature next; to help ramp her up a little. Renathan held her near the head of the galabex; of course the enclosure did not have an opening large enough to allow the galabex's head to poke through. She proceeds to quickly snap at the bird; and the jibiji seems to finally break; she lets forth the most terrifying screech that she could muster; perhaps from a little bit of shock; and the galabex is definitely stunned to silence. She seems to decide that the jibiji is not worth trying to eat; so she backs off and lays back down a little ways away from the jibiji, facing towards the back of the cage. Loud things apparently aren't worth eating.

The jibiji finally seems pretty confident; though still scared. She frightened the really BIG THING. The -big scary- thing! That meant that she was tough too, right? The jibiji slicked back down, but still shook like a leaf in the wind upon a tree. Renathan removes her from the scary creature's presence slowly; so as not to make her afraid of the creature or think that he was afraid of her. After a little while of calming her and petting her, he decides that they should be done for the day. He places her within his braids and then allows the galabex back out on his property after they go home. Renathan returns the next day with the jibiji again, focusing on this training as it was super important. He pets her gently, as she rides on his hair. He hoped that today they could finally put this to rest; and maybe they could finally move on to some other kind of thing? Maybe another battle training session? He didn't really know what to do with her.

(Not gaining levels, just here for training) The next challenge that they would face would be very terrifying for the jibiji, and he knew it. He'd brought his certain-most hellhound-like beast that he had and had placed it within the cage in the area, where he had the galabex before. He hated confining his creatures in such ways; but this was very necessary for safety of both creatures. He swallows the spit that has gathered in his mouth yet again and breathes in a deep breath. He was nervous for his jibiji again; and perhaps for Diesel, the other creature he had. This one could breathe fire; and that was bad. He hoped that he wouldn't get very determined to eat the jibiji... Renathan wakes up the jibiji again and holds it up in his hand; asking her to step up on his finger. Well, here goes nothing, he thinks as he moves forward to go to the cage.

The jibiji stands on his hand and even sings a sweet little song as they make their way towards the cage in the early morning. The vulticus was definitely a night-waker, so he was probably just beginning to go to sleep now... IF he timed this right, they would not be going up against a fully-rested or cranky vulticus today. That would be bad. Renathan finally walks close enough to the vulticus to feel the jibiji start trembling; that frightening feeling was definitely something he'd gotten just a little more used to than he should with his creatures. The jibiji is shaking though; but not quite as badly today as he was beforehand... Renathan finally walks up to the cage; and can see the sleeping vulticus snoring, curled up near the bars. He felt bad; most of his creatures were never subjected to cages like this... But it had to be done, after all.

Renathan softly pets the jibiji, cooing at her and gently nuzzling her with his muzzle beneath his mask as he raises her up so that he can do so. Since the other creature was soundly asleep; he could console her in peace. Soon, she was less afraid; shaking less and less and then eventually not at all. It was certainly good that she seemed to be doing better; even if it wasn't by much yet. He wanted to get her completely calm before the creature inevitably woke up. Eventually; the creature does wake up; it's slow at first. He blinks his bright orange eyes, and shakes his body, yawning and stretching like any vulticus would. The jibiji shakes a little at first, and then seems to steel herself a little bit. She poofs up; catching the vulticus's bright orange eyes; and he does bolt up to his feet; bristling his back almost like a cat would, it was striking.

The jibiji only shook for a little moment, and then she poofs up even more; flashing her feathers at the giant canine; shocking him a little. Suddenly, the creature seemed to have flames flicking from his jaw; which made Renathan's hair prick up on his back. Luckily; just at that moment before the creature could let lose any flames; the jibiji seems to lose more of her fear to protect Renathan; she lets lose a loud screech to keep the creature at bay. For a moment, the flames subside; and it shocks the creature into a little bit of an opening. Then; the flames start to rush. Renathan prepares to take the jibiji out of the way; but suddenly... Well, Renathan didn't really understand it; but it seems that the bird seemed to have some kind of special abilities he didn't know about. It was like ice; and it didn't hurt the opponent but it did keep the vulticus from spouting any flames. Renathan was pleased not only because she had kept herself from being stalled at all by the fear; and was now not shaking at all; but also because she had some kind of power he had no idea about! They go home after this; Renathan removes the vulticus back to his property not long afterward.

Renathan had indeed decided to also do a training session with his beloved familiar today; he planned to train his stallion that 'rein tie' thing he'd been planning for a while later today, but this early in the morning he vastly preferred to work with his jibiji and maybe to watch the sun come up. The day before he'd had to rest since he'd been so tired coming back from the mansion; where he had taken his newest creature acquisition the night previously. It would be quite nice to work with a creature today that... Well, quite frankly, wasn't trying to make him the pet instead. The jibiji clings to his braids happily; trilling her cute little song. He was very fond of how happy the little bird was at all times; so today's training actually made him feel... Sad. He always knew that he'd have to battle train her, but he had't been looking forward to it.

Renathan quickly sits the tiny jibiji down on the same black walnut park table as usual; which immediately piqued the jibiji's interest; the creature had always been trained in this same spot so she already knew about what to expect. Renathan knew that this would probably not be a disturbing thing for the jibiji to learn; but he can remember how desperate he used to be for wins in the pit; how the guts and blood spilled, still hot enough to steam, from the bellies of the drakes that his Daughter of Wands would rip with one choice blow... However; he tried to push that from his mind. He pulls out the tiny cage from his backpack that held what had to be at least a dozen of the live grubbles... He'd been told they couldn't feel anything; so hopefully that would make this a lot easier for him. He then sat the jbiji in front of the grubble and sighed.
They could do this.

Renathan had never considered the effect that the continued gore of the pit would affect him until the tournies were over and he'd had a time to breathe. Now his throat clenched whenever he thought about it; he didn't want to see that kind of carnage again. He'd even stopped training sarane for the time being; just thinking about it threatened to take his mind off of the training at hand. He pushed through this the best he could; and noticed his palms were quite slick with sweat already. Renathan breathes in; and then calls the command he was going to use for this; "Auburn, Læntaari!" The new 'song' that Renathan had stated was certainly more than enough to catch the little jibiji's attention and force her to stay quiet; she loved learning the meaning of all of his new 'songs'. Renathan then pushes one of the live grubbles onto the table, takes a shakey breath. He gives the command yet again; and then the command to 'beg' not long after that. Immediately, the tiny jibiji began looking super cute; tiny, and... Edible.
Renathan feels his throat clench suddenly.

Renathan fought the urge to gag; he hated the idea of this. He hated the idea of a much faster creature trying to snap at his jibiji; and hated even more the idea of the jibiji forcing what could easily be a killing blow on... Really any of labs-created beast. However, this was absolutely required now, now more than ever. Renathan then called out the next command; which she performed flawlessly; the one to scratch the live grubble. The jibiji instantly switched from 'cutsie mode' to 'murder mode' in all of a split second, attacking the grubble with the best scratch she could come up with. Renathan is glad to note that her scratches are still not good enough to make the tiny grubble scream in pain thanks to it's thick fur. However, that was also what was telling him that this was not working so far. He gives her a tiny seed anyway, and watches her eat it thoughtfully.
