Renathan then mixes up the yarn balls, one blue, one yellow, and one red. As soon as the small fluffy bird finished her dark seed, discarding the case into the snow a small amount of the way about her. Renathan then calls out again, without pointing at anything to give any indications, "Ve'kree, Rae." Auburn was a little more confident now, and quickly goes over to the one that she could see was red, but of course she didn't really have much of a concept of color past associations with food of course. She was quickly learning that this red yarn ball was what he wanted her to get. She wondered vaguely about the other colors of yarn ball, but only vaguely. The tiny jibiji grabs the red one, and then looks up at Renathan for her treat. Renathan trades a small dark seed for the red yarn, and then takes all the yarn balls up to mix them up again.

Renathan had decided that the yarn balls would make a cute addition to a possible future contest idea that he'd had. He really thought it would be adorable to throw her in a contest and have her count and bring him different colors of yarn balls. Most people didn't bother training their pets this kind of thing, so he figured it would be absolutely 'eaten up' by a crowd. Renathan wanted to test this a few more times before they moved on to something else. He was beginning to realize that he was going to have to work on the dodging thing today, and he was already a bit apprehensive about it. He didn't want to deal with this much, but he knew that it had to be done, for the battling side of things... It made him a bit anxious. He waits for the tiny jibiji to finish her seed, so that they could continue with the task at hand.

The tiny bird does finish with her seed quite quickly, and Renathan continues with the training on the red color itself. He calls out the command yet again, "Ve'kree, Rae." He watches as the small jibiji as she ran to the red yarn ball and picks it up, holding it out for him in an expectant manner. Renathan was pleased with this, and happily trades another smaller seed for the tiny red yarn ball. The jibiji drops the yarn ball into his hand and picks up the seed instead, happy to have the treat for doing well. Renathan tries to keep his mind off of the sickening thought of having to train the dodging thing. Instead, he thinks about the rest of the color training that he would do later on. He wasn't planning on lining them all up in a row, thinking that he may confuse the creature and also bore himself to death, honestly.

Renathan was sometimes a bit anxious about over doing or under doing training either one. In one direction, a creature might confuse the commands, combine commands, or grow indignant or nervous. In the other direction, a creature will not completely trust the trainer, might forget commands, or grow aggressive and combative. Renathan did not want to do either of these to his well trained creatures, so he was careful about when he trained and how much each creature took. He figured that too much combat training might be too difficult for Auburn, so he was careful about it. It did, however, make him super anxious about battle training at all for the tiny creature. The last time they were here they worked on something that would make her super scared, and that really rattled him. Renathan is pleased to see that the tiny jibijii finished her seed, and was looking pretty cute, so he decided to continue.

Renathan moved all of the yarn balls again, this time removing an orange ball from his backpack to make it just that much more difficult. Now there was a red, orange, yellow, and blue ball to contend with. Renathan mixes them up, and then arranges them randomly. Then, he commands yet again, "Ve'kree Rae." Auburn seems to realize that even though there is a new color there, that the command was the same, so the outcome needed to be the same. Renathan watches as the tiny creature scampers over and grabs the correct yarn ball, the red one, in order to complete the task. Renathan then trades her a small seed for the yarn ball. As the tiny yet very fluffy bird worked on the seed husk in the snow, Renathan sat crouched, chewing on his lip. He wasn't sure what he wanted to do. He knew that they would have to work on something else very soon...

Renathan watches the tiny jibiji finish her seed husk, and he looks at the husk on the snow. He realizes that it was very easy to see them against the snow, all of those seed husks that she had discarded from the treats that he had given her for the correct actions to the training. Renathan was just beginning to think when he decided to finish this training first. Renathan then rearranges the yarn balls again, and he called the command. The tiny jibiji grabs the correct yarn ball again, and Renathan simply gives her praise and takes the yarn ball from her. He was proud to see her just as excited to perform the trick when he grabs another yarn ball color and mixes it in with the fray, all while calling out the command again. The tiny fluffy bird does rush out, and grab the correct color. Renathan repeats this with the full range of colors out, and is pleased to see Auburn performing very well, reliably being able to pick out the red yarn ball.

Renathan knew now that the last bit of training that they would do on this snowy day would be the dodging training. He knew that they had to do it; that ability to sense danger was tantamount for her, and it had been giving him anxiety for a long time now. Almost every time he goes out training he was anxious about the whole thing, even as long ago as training her the first few tricks. He knew that he was going to have to get done with this, whether he wanted to or not. He really, really did not want to have to throw rocks at her, however... That's when the idea came to him, finally. He remembered the shells of the seeds that he had spotted on the snow around him; and how easy they were to find... He could throw the shells at her! They were much, much less dangerous, and would be easily re-collected and used again!

Renathan was glad that the dodging instinct did not require a command, because his voice was really hoarse due to the cold air. Renathan quickly begins collecting all of the seed shells, while also putting the yarn balls in his backpack. The tiny jibiji took to the air happily, seeming to enjoy following him about on his mission to pick up all of the seed husks. After collecting them all, Renathan once again sits down on the bench after brushing off another patch of snow. He looks up at the jibiji apprehensively, and swallows. Then, he waits until her back is turned, and throws a single husk at her back half-heartedly. The shell did hit her on her wing, but it hardly seemed to bother her. She did, however, notice it. She turned back toward him, cautiously, flying in a quick circle overhead. Renathan breathes out, and this time while she was looking at him, tossed another seed husk at her.

Renathan really hated this, but the jibiji did seem to realize that this too, was some kind of training. She fearlessly twisted her wings, throwing herself into a quick roll to dodge the seed in a very flashy way. Renathan was kind of... Surprised. He knew that he had trained her not to be afraid of things before this, but he didn't expect her to catch on to this at all, let alone quickly. Renathan grins beneath the mask, and then carefully readies another swing. He throws the seed husk a little more steadily this time, faster. The jibiji turns towards it and then dodges quite easily. Renathan wasn't sure if she would do so well with a creature attacking her, but he hoped to not have to find out too soon. Renathan continues to throw the seed husks at her, pleased that she was dodging relatively easily. Renathan decided that he was going to have to up his game a little bit.

The tiny creature was doing very well, so Renathan steps up his game. He begins throwing one seed right after the other, in slightly different angles, so as to catch her to force her out of being predictable. Renathan was pleased to see her only really get hit once, and then quickly adjust to steeply diving at random angles to get away from multiple strikes. Renathan was excited to see her doing so well, but she really was. He'd been worrying about this for so long, but she was really beating his expectations. Soon, he was out of seed husks, and he was having to go pick up all of the seed husks again. He wasn't able to find some of them, but he soon had enough again to keep working with the jibiji. The tiny fluffy bird seemed to really enjoy this game, so Renathan continued, this time throwing small groups of three for her to dodge, which she adjusted to just as quickly as before.

Renathan is soon out of seed husks again, and this time produces small metal balls made up of slag metal from his backpack. He knew that these would go much faster when he threw them, so he started off throwing them a little slowly. When Auburn proved that she could dodge these decently enough, Renathan began throwing them at full speed; and was quite happy to see her able to capably dodge them. He figured that it was a bit hard to do for a small creature to do, but fliers seemed to be pretty capable for their size. Renathan quickly switches to a two at a time pattern, testing her pattern-breaking skills. After she proves herself capable at this, he is soon throwing three of the tiny slag-metal metal balls at once, laughing a bit as Auburn not only dodged these, but showed off. He hoped that she would do this well in the real thing; and was laughing with nervousness long after he ran out of the metal balls. He was proud of her ability to dodge, and how quickly she picked it up.

Renathan had decided to go home not long after running out of the little slag metal bits to toss at the tiny bird. He felt almost... Free. Now that he didn't have to worry too much about that, perhaps just train it a little more in the future, he wasn't too worried about training anymore in general. He could train Auburn from here on out without much 'abuse' going on, and that made him a lot more happy. It was much easier for Renathan to train battle tactics to other creatures- more physically imposing creatures, ones that wouldn't be so easy to accidentally hurt very badly. Renathan returns the next day, happy that most of the snow had melted off the evening and night before. Renathan brings Auburn with him, her tiny body clinging to his braids without any issues. He was very happy that she was excited today, he could feel it!

That struck Renathan a bit as odd; when did he start feeling that... Emotional thing, all the time with Auburn? He could feel it with Shy Guy, which made sense. Shy Guy had been thoroughly trained, though he still needed a bit of work, Renathan felt. However, he hadn't really noticed this change with Auburn. It had felt quite shocking when it started happening with Shy Guy, especially since the equillion was very alien to his own feelings. However, Auburn almost made him feel naturally calmer and more happy, it was a very subtle effect. Renathan felt really nice when Auburn was around all the time, anyway, probably because of the magical link. However, he was surprised he never noticed when the emotion crossing thing started happening with Auburn. She was such a bright and sweet soul, he was quite lucky to have her. Renathan finally made it to the walnut wood park bench, and he was thankful that it was dry on top of the seat and table.

Renathan sits down on the dry seat of the park bench and then places the jibiji on the table carefully, letting her crawl onto his hand before letting her down on the table. She looks around, her eyes quite large, taking in the less bright landscape now that the snow had melted off. She seemed a bit sad that the snow was gone, but that feeling was drowned out when she turned her attention back to Renathan. Renathan was somewhat wondering how the emotional link didn't seem to echo back emotions much... Well, in the same way that some walls do noises. For example, what if the creature felt sad, and made the owner sad, that made the critter even -more sad-, and that made the owner even sadder? Renathan didn't really feel that occurring, but it did make him wonder exactly how this kind of thing even worked at all.

Renathan was honestly still a little tired from the night before, he hadn't slept very well at all for some reason. He kept having some kind of odd nightmare or something, but he couldn't quite remember it anymore. He was usually very particular about recording his dreams because he had a ton of psychic-like creatures around him, and he was somewhat afraid of their possible influence. Luckily, he hadn't had any issues out of any of his psychic creatures yet, thankfully. However, the fact that he couldn't remember what he could obviously remember being a horrible dream was concerning at best. He was a bit worried about that, but he worked to make sure that the tiny jibiji wouldn't be too on-slaughted by his worries. He pet the tiny jibiji on it's little head a bit absently, but she did make him feel quite a bit better. She really was such a sweety! He was happy to have her around.
