There was only a single item of interest that its master had sent it out for. A.. Root? A roots. Plant roots. The trod didn't complain, and only dutifully performed whatever service the leopard required of it. Even one as simple as a shopping errand. No matter, it was nice to be out of the kennel for once anyway. The creatures it tended would have to do without it for some short time. Somehow, it felt a sense of urgency to get back to them quickly. Being around animals so much, it was odd without their company..
The robot hurried along the street, taking very little time scanning the shops before happening upon the garden that made up the storefront of his destination. With certainty, it entered the store. It did little to make its presence known aside from simply having arrived. A shiny white droid showing up at a gardening store was certainly enough of an announcement.
Turner was always excited to be able to make a sale, so when he heard a customer come in, he turned around from where he was pruning the berry bushes and waved. "Hello." He said, greeting the robot. Usually the customers talked as soon as he saw them, so he was a little surprised that they did not. "What can I do for you today?"
It was having some trouble finding the shopkeeper, red eyes scanning the counter and various potted plants. Ah, there, behind those bushes. Xio carefully approached the man with a simple hand wave as its greeting. Decidedly remaining silent, the white Trod opened part of its hollow chest and procured a folded piece of paper. Presumably a shopping list.. With only a single item written upon its surface. Not really all that much of a list. The robot also made sure to fetch a coin pouch from its interior before closing itself with a clank, then handed the note to the man.
Ever so subtly, the trod moved its head as it scanned the various wares the shop had to offer. Plenty of plants.. Plant food.. Plant food for more animate plants. There were even some cute creatures here. Knowing it was in the presence of a fellow keeper made it feel slightly more at ease. Even if it didn't show much. Ever stoic, Xio refused to voice its interest in the creatures. Perhaps in part to not disappoint its master with extra things upon its return.
The customer seemed to find him, but they seemed completely silent. Oh, that was okay, he could figure it out. It wasn't uncommon for someone unable to speak to come in for things. He walked closer to pay more attention to them, and then noticed the folded piece of paper. Ah, a Pair of Roots! "One pair of roots, gotcha." He said, and immediately went to go procure one. When he showed back up, he said, "The total is 500 credits for this root pair." He said, smiling.
Expressionless, the robot nodded as the man went off to fetch the pair of roots. If it could, the trod would probably have a very reserved smile upon its face. Alas, its face had no lips to do so. While it waited, it took to gently rubbing the leaves of a couple of different plants on display. Xio was pondering the complexities of flora.. It understood these things needed care like any other living thing, even if they could not voice what they wanted. But somehow that thought made it uncomfortable. Plants weren't its preferred type of company. The lively ones were okay though, it supposed.
Before long, the shopkeeper made their return with the item. For something so unassuming, it sure cost a lot. Not that it was judging. Whatever need its master had for the item was sure to be justified. Xio simply offered the coin pouch to them in exchange. It contained a perfectly counted, pre-portioned amount, just for this purchase. Nothing more, nothing less.
After the credits changed hands, Turner happily turned over the pouch with the root pair in it. "I hope you have a nice day, thank you!" He had already re-counted it out of habit, and gotten everything squared away. A good sale, if he did say so himself!
Twilight-Claw: Thanks for that piece of info Ren! <3 | But would it be allowed for the flavor of the rp if the berry wasn't filling enough for the Lotine?

Renathan: There is no need to double up on a fish and a magical berry (doesn't change the effect of the berry at all) in a lotine breeding.
Jun 1, 2020 6:02:21 GMT -6
Twilight-Claw: Does anyone know if it is possible to combine both a magical berry and a fish in a Lotine breeding? Or is you can only choose one of them? (right now writing a Lotine breeding)

Riku: I got three pet levels and 15c out of it. <3 And all the necessary posts for my job salary form.

Riku: In mine my crossbreed used foxfire to burn it - but then it used incendiary illusion, which was extra scary because my cross is a plant pet with thick fur. It used the distraction to escape. I’m proud of it, and it’s okay that I won’t finish this month.

Renathan: *But of course, the RNG was not having that. / In Morgan's story, the Nyssa was a real thing, so I wanted to have two different situations for the variety.
May 31, 2020 18:15:27 GMT -6
Renathan: Yeah, the 'finished the story but the RNGods are being a butt' thing is a rather unfortunate situation to be in. I had already decided that in Ren's story, the elderly woman had lied about the nyssa and just wanted someone to talk to*
May 31, 2020 18:14:49 GMT -6
Riku: That makes sense. I've considered that before. -nod- I hope your non-hxr life is going smoothly.

Haix: Just quitting the job. Don't believe I'll be making the ten posts required per month any time soon. XD
May 31, 2020 16:34:01 GMT -6
Riku: Note to haix, I believe you can post the new application form at the same time as the quitting form. Unless you are simply taking an overall break from the job system.

Fiera Ferella: even AT the gardens yet. XD It sucks when you've finished writing your story and haven't gotten a success, because then its like "well... now what?" XD
May 31, 2020 15:51:47 GMT -6
Fiera Ferella: ive found that when there's a quest that might take longer like this, its a good idea to try and space out the story beats to try and roll a success before i get to the meat of the story. XD Like, by the time i was 5 posts in my character wasn't
