The final step came with staking the plant out. On each cardinal corner, I had a few wooden stakes to drive into the ground for bracing the sapling. Trees do not gro quickly at all. An entire year barely puts out more then a ring on the trunk and a handful of branches. The growth of a tree is just so slow. The trees in the forest take years, YEARS to reach that height. Putting energy into height and making roots versus propegating out saplings and such for the first. few years. It only takes a few tamps of the shovel ball blade to get the stakes driven in a few inches deeper. Each tree came with a small amount of twine to tie off the saplings. I can hear someone mentioning this won't hold. Its like poultry string, they say. Poultry string? ...oh, to tie up dead pults with. I get it now. 15
