It soon became apparent that the flying Draconic intended to land here. Seveth began to wonder whether they ought to get out of the way. He hadn't expected a Draconic of such size. At least, he had never encountered one so large up close before. Rho was already plenty large, but this one was bigger than him by a significant margin, and was easily the largest one that Seveth had seen up close so far.
He didn't know if he actually wanted the up close and personal experience so soon.
But he forced himself not to panic, if only because they were a people, and not brute beasts who couldn't take offense. And if he thought of Ichaival, who was not quite so large but similarly toothed and clawed, this wasn't so bad.
Besides which, Rho clearly seemed to recognize them, so they were probably approaching on his account, rather than for Seveth.

The landing was a little tricky, since the ledge was a bit narrower than Moth would have liked. She was of Lashak blood, and her family had prided itself on maintaining the fullness of figure, so to speak, that their forefathers had been blessed with. There were many smaller Draconics with Lashak blood, who were certainly not lesser; and a great many of them were much cleverer, of course. But size was also not always a blessing; a daintier Draconic would have managed a smoother landing here.
Still, she was a good flier, and knew herself well. She wouldn't have attempted a landing she couldn't make. It was a little tight but she managed, and then turned to greet Rho properly. He looked well, or at least no worse than she remembered his being; it was always a little hard to tell with him, since he had a look about him that suggested he slept but little.

There was a great rush of wind as the Draconic made their landing. For a moment Seveth really did think maybe they weren't going to manage, the way their wings were flailing, and the way their claws were scrambling for purchase. It wasn't what he would have called a graceful landing, but once they had settled themselves, he was surprised that they had managed it at all. The big brown Draconic was even bigger than Seveth had anticipated up close, and their fit on the ledge was a narrow one.
They rumbled out a greeting, which Rho returned, and the Makiyan stepped closer to touch his muzzle to theirs. It was funny seeing him - well, not dwarfed exactly, but definitely put into perspective, maybe, by the scale of his friend. "And who's this?" said Seveth, trying a smile. "A buddy of yours, Rho? I couldn't ask for an introduction, could I?"

She had never known what to make of him, and he had kept strange hours, but she had figured the hours, at least, were because he was a Makiyan, and enjoyed the dark rather more than most. Still, she knew other Makiyans, and none of them had struck her as deprived of sleep in a chronic way.
... Maybe it was just his face. His eyes might have been more sunken in than most. Not that she would ever tell him this to his face, of course.
She accepted his greeting, then inclined her head at the human at his side - or meant to, except the human made himself known first, speaking a bunch of words together in rapid succession that Moth didn't manage to untangle. It reminded her of the clan leader and his kin; probably it was the same language, but she wasn't fluent enough to make out the meaning.

Rho glanced at Seveth when Seveth spoke, as though the Makiyan hadn't quite expected him to do it. But Seveth thought this, at last, was a little insulting, since he had been perfectly conversational this entire time. No one who knew him would have described him as quiet and out of the way, which wasn't exactly a compliment, but at least he was consistent.
But his speaking up had also caught the other Draconic's attention, and he saw their eyes widen as they looked him over. Seveth smiled wider, and stooped into a bow with a flourish of the hand. "S--- er, Linyü, at your service!" he said, inwardly chastising himself for the stumble. He had gotten so much better at it too! It must have been the environment, the change of pace that had thrown him off. He would need to practice more, to make sure he didn't slip up like that again.

Rho seemed just as confused with the human as Moth was, so maybe they didn't know each other very well. Was it a new acquaintance that Rho had picked up? He didn't strike Moth as the type to go out picking up humans, but then Moth didn't know enough about humans on a one-on-one level to know if there was something specifically appealing about them.
Maybe Rho wanted a soul-bond. That, at least, was easier to understand. Many Draconics did, for a wide variety of reasons, though there were just as many who did not.
The human spoke some more, then bent at the waist in a gesture that Moth interpreted as a greeting of his own. Moth inclined her head, thinking it best not to try a Draconic greeting. She was very conscious of the size difference, and those limbs on this one did not look very sturdy at all.

He had hoped that this newcomer Draconic might be better conversation than poor taciturn Rho, but his hopes were so far being dashed by the response he received. The new Draconic did not offer him any words either, and though they had inclined her head in response to his bow, he thought they looked rather confused by it.
... Well, it was true that he hadn't seen a lot of humans, or even humanoids in these parts. And apparently Common wasn't quite so common in these parts as it was around the labs.
Still, maybe she was just shy? He looked between the two of them. "So, how did the two of you meet?" he said. "Drinking buddies? Hunting friends? Exes?" He hoped it wasn't exes. That would be a pretty awkward thing to have happen. Did Rho come her to get away from someone, come to think of it? He hadn't considered the possibility before.

The human, and now that she was seeing him up close he did turn out to be fully human, continued to chatter away, unperturbed by her lack of response. This didn't make him any more comprehensible, but it was at least briefly interesting to listen to the timbre of his voice, so different from the Draconic ones that she was used to hearing.
Not something she would choose to live with, since she suspected it would wear on her after a while, and he seemed to be cut from the same chattery cloth as some of her clanmates... But a good novelty, for a short time.
But then the human came to an abrupt stop, and something like concern seemed to flit over his soft, blunt features. Again, Moth looked to Rho, a question in her eyes, as she indicated the human once more with a slight jerk of her head.

Seveth recognized the look of someone ignoring him or tuning him out when he saw it. He wasn't surprised, but he was a little disappointed. Still, it was nothing he hadn't grown used to, and he thought it was most likely because neither Draconic could properly understand what he was saying, like as not. So that took the sting out of it a little.
The brown one did seem to be curious about him, but only in the sense that they seemed to be asking Rho about him. But Rho only shook his head, and then... And then Seveth lost track of it, since the conversation seemed to take place with a subtle sort of body language that Seveth wasn't fluent with. He had lived with Ichaival long enough, but Ichaival had always communicated with its thoughts, and was of a different sort of dragon than these ones were too.

Rho shook his head, impatience coloring the motion, and Moth understood at once that this wasn't a human he had picked up to keep. She glanced at the human again, but there wasn't enough comprehension on his features; he was as unversed in their way of communication as she was in his. But then, she couldn't even imagine what it would have looked like on a human, tailless and with those proportions, to be mimicking the motions Rho had been making.
The gist of it was that Rho was staying here, but they need not humor the human. In fact, he seemed eager for an excuse to be away for a bit, though he would likely come back later.
If that was the case... Moth took a few steps further up the ledge path, then glanced back and motioned with her head for Rho to follow. She would give him this out, and then maybe they could catch up.

In the end, none of Seveth's questions were answered. The brown Draconic had been here for scant minutes before she started further up the path, then indicated for Rho to follow. The way they carried on, Seveth understood the message loud and clear: he wasn't invited.
But then, he supposed he couldn't really just invite himself into the lives of strangers if they didn't invite him too. He was good at putting up the front, but it wasn't like he didn't know when he wasn't wanted. And in this case there was no reason to push, so he simply watched as Rho followed the big brown Draconic up the narrow path, to wander or play or whatever it was that Draconics did in these parts.
Well, he had a table to clean up. That would give him something to do, until Rho came back later for his dinner or something.
