Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is 72 hours from this post. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 72 hours to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 72 hour deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

> Xentus, accompanied by Mira
Their fight with the baakir was quick. The combination of luring the tall creature over with the kitten facade, then betraying that lapse in guard with those wings proved to be a rather effective strategy, for those who were foolish enough to fall for it. There weren't many opponents that seemed equip to handle the speed and power generated by Mira - she's turned out unscathed and victorious in every fight. Those wings were unrivaled and undefeated, so far at least. And hopefully, this trend would keep up. Having to witness Mira's defeat wasn't something he planned on. There were only three fights left to get through, then they'd be done. "Ready, Mira?", Xentus whispered to the creature, stroking her nape. The moments before handing her off to the crew were always the worst for him. The uncertainty of who they'd face and if he's see her come out unharmed haunted him. With a sigh, he left for the stands and let Mira be led into the sands. It was time for their next battle.

Tournaments were pointless. I was still quite sour about my previous loss when I made my way to the fighting pit for another round. Igor was not having a good time against the variety of opponents we had seen so far. Usually he got a bite (and sometimes a stab) in before he went down, but last time he didn't even get a chance. After all of it, I did learn at least one thing: next time, I would need to bring a much faster creature with me if I wanted to win. Was that single lesson worth all of the effort? I wasn't sure, but I didn't want to face the shame of quitting, either.
As usual, I brought Igor into the pit and let him off his lead, then I took my place in the stands. I examined the creature he would be fighting next. It had wings, which wasn't a good sign. A flying creature would be even more difficult for Igor to catch.
[Waiting.]

It seemed their opponent was... A tat-lung? The leopard raised a brow at this, taken aback. He didn't recall tat-lungs being on the list of acceptable species for this tournament. But before he had the chance to question it, he realized the dragon was in the stands. And a ghaenelt was below in the arena. Intriguing. A creature who owned another creature. Not a common sight, but he supposed the idea wasn't too far fetched. He didn't let his mind wander about the idea for too long - the fight was to begin.
"Wing, Mira!", the leopard called out to the mosca, who had been patiently awaiting his command. Mira sized up the thorny ghaenelt, not nearly as afraid of it as she was the last few opponents. It was smaller than she was. Bound to the ground. Thorny, yes, but she didn't need to come too close to it to strike with the powerful thrusts of her wings. The mosca leapt forward, wings unfurling and flapping hard, unleashing the razor-like wind and flurry of feathers.

How intriguing. My opponent this time was not a human, as I had come to expect, but was instead some kind of person covered in sky blue fur. As interesting as I'm sure their answer was, I didn't think this was the sort of place to ask about where they came from. It would have to remain a mystery as the match started and demanded my full attention.
As I predicted, the other creature immediately made use of its wings. This didn't bode well for Igor's chances of winning, but I wasn't willing to back down yet and neither was he. "Igor, bite!" I called. Igor knew what that meant, and I was almost surprised that he was still so eager to do it. He hesitated only briefly to find an opening, then ran straight for the winged creature. He was determined to strike this time, perhaps desperate to prove that he actually could.

Calculations
Mira uses Wing Buff! Staff rolls a 10, Mira's attack automatically hits! Mira's Dexterity of 9 = 9 damage 9 - 3 Resistance of Igor = 6 Igor's Stamina is now 0
Though Igor attempted to bite his foe, Mira's mighty blast gets to him first and takes him down. The Pit crew come to heal the Ghaenelt.
Results Mira gains 2 levels and Xentus gains 5 pit prize points Igor gains 1 level and Star gains 3 pit prize points
