Here he was. At yet another place Kadin hadn't been yet. That in and of itself wasn't surprising, Kadin hadn't been to a lot of places in the labs yet. He also tended to stick to only certain places he was familiar with, ones where he'd been before and made regular visits of. This place in particular was one he'd passed by many times, but hadn't really thought to enter... until he did.
He'd heard, through various sources, that this was where someone went to get species that you didn't already have. Species that couldn't be found in the labs proper, not anymore, at least. So he didn't see any harm in showing up and trying to find a certain creature he'd, uh. Heard about. But never seen or owned. He walked in through the doors and eyed the form he had to fill out, doing so to the best of his abilities.

He didn't quite know what to expect, after all, about these creatures that he'd heard about. He hadn't even properly seen one before, but for all he'd heard? They were one of the strongest, most powerful creatures here in the labs. It would be a good test to see if he had what it takes to own one. So once the form was filled out, he handed it off and went to find these, uh. Thundergugs. Even their name was a bit intimidating, to be honest, but Kadin had tamed sarane before with only a necklace. He could handle meeting a...
Wow.
They were.
Pretty big, huh?
Kadin stared up at a creature that looked like it belonged in ancient times, not the modern day. Only, wait. He tilted his head, looking at it from another angle. Sure, it looked like a dinosaur, but it also sort of looked like... a cow?

Was that on purpose?
"Uh, hello there." Kadin said, not really sure what to do next when faced with a creature who looked like it could comfortably bulldoze over him and not even notice. It ignored him, for the most part, seemingly too busy eating which... also made sense. "It's pretty great here, huh? All the food you could want." Kadin attempted, only to get the 'gug snorting in his general direction. It didn't seem too interested in conversation. "You know, you could also. Leave here. And still get all the food you want, but also spent time outside." Yeah, that was a no, the 'gug clearly didn't understand a single thing he was saying. With a sigh, Kadin realized that he'd probably need to break out the treats. This wasn't exactly a hyper intelligent being he was dealing with, here, but rather one that would be won over with food before words.

So, Kadin dug around in his pockets until he pulled out a bag of treats he'd brought just for this occasion. The sound of the bag opening attracted some attention, at least, as the thundergug sniffed at the air and began to nose at the human standing nearby. Kadin had to shift and move a bit out of the way, otherwise he risked getting knocked over entirely by a curious thundergug. Things were going better already! Kadin took out a treat and offered it to the 'gug, watching as it barely sniffed at it before liping it up and chewing happily. Kadin couldn't even tell if the creature had managed to taste it before it was nosing at him again for another treat. Clearly this guy was going to be extremely food motivated. Or was it...? Kadin wasn't sure if he should check right now while he was actively fending off the 'gug's head. Whatever it was.

Kadin backed up a bit, grinning when the 'gug followed him. He offered it a treat for that, pleased to have its attention after being ignored for a little while. "So this was the key to your heart all along, huh? Just some treats?" He teased, not really minding while he fed it another treat from the bag. At the rate they were going, he was a bit worried he wouldn't have any left for training later, but he supposed that he'd always be able to get more. He shouldn't worry about it too much. So the boy spent the rest of the time just hanging out with the 'gug, offering it treats that he'd brought himself and even some of the food it had already been eating, content to just keep feeding it while it got used to having him around. They'd be doing more work together later if this ended up working out, after all.
