Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is 72 hours from this post. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 72 hours to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 72 hour deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

> Xentus, accompanied by Alerios
Their first battle against the repointe went flawlessly. While the leopard was wary that the deer-creature would have something unexpected to offer to the table, it went down without much of a fight. Part of him was relieved - it was another victory for the record. But the other part of him was concerned. They didn't really get to test their power, and that fight didn't set the 'standard' for what was to come. Xentus spectated on the other matches and scoped out their assorted upcoming opponents.. And they all seemed quite formidable (except.. perhaps the malii). [Ready, Alé?], the leopard asked, stroking the beast's face tenderly, [You've done well. Let us not falter now.] A deep rumble came from the wiurn in response. It was full of anticipation; the hunt was actually thrilling. And with its keeper's guidance, it felt unstoppable. The furred wiurn was taken to the sands while the mammalian made his way to the stands. Now then, what was to come?

Okay so the first fight hadn't gone that well, but Ramal wasn't going to let that get to him. Those healers worked really fast and he was reasonably certain that Shelly had already forgotten the whole thing. At the very least, she didn't seem reluctant in any way to go back.
They just had to hope for an opponent that they could catch. The winged guy from before had been real trouble for them. With that thought in mind, Ramal led Shelly out onto the field. His heart sank when he saw who his opponent was: another one of those big winged creatures with fur and scales. All he could do was hope that this one was, somehow, not as fast.
"Alright big girl, you got this, I'll be up there waiting for you to win, okay?" He rested his hand on her shoulder for a moment before taking off for his place in the stands.

Their next opponent in the sands was yet another prey animal. Granted, it was much larger and much more intimidating than a mere deer. Thundergugs were notoriously tough and strong - a great and hardy animal to enter to fight like this. But, they were also slow with all that bulk. And he brought a predator to the table. Xentus reasoned away any concern and grew confident in the wiurn. Prey was prey. They could handle this, the hunt was on. [Leap forth with all your might!], the keeper urged the scaled beast through their mind link, [Then bash, Alé!]. Alerios wasted no time going on the offensive and moved as soon as instruction came - sprint-crawling with somewhat unexpected agility for how awkward that form of movement was. Its sights were locked on the thundergug as it leapt, leading with its hardened headplate with intent to crash into the beast with reckless abandon.

Whatever they had done last time they saw one of these fuzzy flying lizards hadn't worked, so Ramal had to think quickly about what to do. The battle was already starting! Shelly had only learned two techniques while they were out at the park. If the Bash wasn't fast enough, maybe the roar would be.
Shelly looked back at Ramal as if she was asking him what to do. Last time they were here, he had been yelling commands like an expert, but now he was eerily silent. Was she just supposed to wing it? Was this flying thing going to smash into her like the last one had?
"Shelly, shout! Shout!" he yelled as loudly as he could so that it might encourage her to do the same. Finally, they were in sync. Shelly turned her head toward the Wiurn and let out her loudest, most booming shout. Hopefully it was enough to catch him off guard, since they didn't have a better plan.

Calculations
Alerios uses Pounce & Bash! Staff rolled a 10! Alerios will deal the most damage possible Alerios' Stamina of 16 + 6 damage of Bash = 22 22 - 6 Resistance of Shelly = 16 damage Shelly's Stamina is now 4
Shelly uses Roar! Alerios' Danger Sense deactivates, Alerios will skip his next attack!

Still not quick enough. He would have to train up Shelly's reflexes if they were to try something like this again. He knew that she wasn't the fastest, but he hadn't expected her to get so vastly outsped by every opponent they had met so far. Would they all be big winged reptiles? He hoped not. Two was enough!
"Shelly! Now's your chance. Smash!" Ramal shouted. If they timed it right, they might just get one good bash in.
The big flying beast crashed into Shelly and her roar only got louder as she was struck. That had to be enough to catch him off guard for at least a second. Shelly didn't waste any time in stomping her feet and charging. She closed the distance between them quickly, lowered her hown, and aimed straight for the Wiurn. She had to smash into him before he got the chance to get her again! She didn't think she could take another hit of that strength.

The hit sounded with a resonating crack as the wiurn plummeted into the thundergug. The impact was impressive, but it was even more impressive that their opponent was left still standing. There were few that could brace against such a blow, but of course a hardy thundergug could. Chances were that beast couldn't endure much more after that though. [Good, Alé!], the leopard praised through their mind link, [Now, Sv-] It roared. A deafening sound so loud that he could feel it rattle his guts - even here on his place on the stands. Alerios was quite shaken by the sound, reeling away from its opponent. Its ears rung, its vision was blurry. The furred wiurn did its best to shake it off. [Ale? Come on, Ale, focus!, Xentus urged through his own wince. The keeper's mental words hardly helped, but the wiurn did its best to get ahold of itself before it was too late.

Alerios skips his turn!
Shelly used Bash! Shelly's Dexterity of 3 + 8 rolled by staff = 11 vs. the 7 Dexterity of Alerios Shelly will deal the most damage possible! Shelly's Strength of 10 + 6 damage of Bash = 16 16 - 9 Resistance of Alerios = 7 7 / 2 for Thick Fur = 3 Alerios' Stamina is now 13

(The damage from Shelly's Bash should be halved due to Alerios's Thick Fur)
The opponent retaliated with an attack very much like their own. While the wiurn was too shaken to lash out again, it managed to brace itself in those fleeting moments. The impact was muffled by the wiurn's dense fur, but the power behind the collision was still plenty enough force to knock Alerios back. The wiurn clawed into the sands to steady itself on its feet. A snort escaped from the wyvern as it glared at the offending thundergug. {Prey has fight}, the wiurn muttered through their ribbon-link. It was interesting to have some contest now, unlike the battle with that deer. Xentus could feel Alerios's anticipation swell. The man was concerned at first seeing his precious pet get slammed into like that, but it seemed to hardly bother the creature. [But not much more. Now! - Svell, Alé!], the leopard directed, resuming from when he'd been interrupted before. Without hesitation, Alerios took in a deep breath and unleashed it as a frost-laden blast of winter's wrath toward the thundergug.

Hey, that worked! Ramal couldn't help but to grin at their little success. Even if it didn't seem to do as much damage as they were hoping for, he did feel good about finally landing a blow. These flying lizards were so tough! He would have to look into it when this was all over. He had no idea that a pet could both fly and be tough enough to tank a hit from something as big as Shelly.
"Good one Shelly!" He couldn't be sure about what would happen next, but he knew they had to act fast. Their options were limited, so he went with what he knew (sort of) worked. "Shelly, smash! One more time, I know you can do it!"
Shelly was feeling confident about not immediately being thrown to the ground like last time. She snorted, stomped her feet, lowered her horn, and charged in for another full body bash.

Calculations
Alerios uses Breath of Winter! Alerios' Dexterity of 7 + 4 rolled by staff = 11 vs. the 3 Dexterity of Shelly Alerios will deal the most damage possible! Breath of Winter does 10 damage Tundra Dweller cuts the damage by 1/4 = 8 damage Shelly's Stamina is now -4
Even though she got in a decent hit, the Wiurn proved too strong for the Thundergug! The Pit crew rush out, splitting into two teams in order to heal them both.
Results Alerios gains 2 levels and Xentus gains 5 pit prize points Shelly gains 1 level and Ramal gains 3 pit prize points
