  Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is 72 hours from this post. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 72 hours to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 72 hour deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally. |

Well they'd lost the last one, but she hadn't expected anything other than that. Chuckling, the woman patted Crystal on the side, worried that she wasn't going to take it well, but she was handling it pretty well so far at this point. Crystal still held her head high and strode into the arena, ready for another fight no matter what the consequences were for now. Jack rubbed Crystal's neck and put their foreheads together for a little while before she went up into the stands, happily waiting for their next fight. At least they had beaten the two Thundergugs, which was a good thing no matter what happened in this tournament. Jack was pleased with Crystal's performance so far and knew there were only two more rounds after this, she didn't know who else they needed to face for now, but it was going to be interesting no matter what happened she decided with a nod.

Time for the next one already. Xentus wasn't surprised exactly, but their last match getting called off like that was probably for the best. He didn't want another incident like with the murp. Alerios, on the other hand, still had some pent up frustrations about the battle against the other wiurn. The normally calm and sleepy wyvern was moody and sullen, and expressed as much to its keeper. [Anger gives motivation without purpose, Alé], the leopard warned as he stroked the beast's neck, [Collect yourself, perhaps someday we shall have a rematch. Until then, let us focus]
Alerios let out a deep exhale as if to sigh. It nuzzled the man's cheek then began leading toward the sands of the pit. It was somehow nice to see that frustration seem to resolve quickly, yet odd knowing the creature was so willing to fight. Perhaps it wanted to prove itself as much as he did. Xentus gave it an encouraging pat, then headed to the stands himself. Their opponent this time was a winged equillion.. Who's keeper seemed familiar. Xentus offered a friendly nod and a faint smile across the way, wishing a good fight.

A Wiurn meant... flight. Jack chewed on her lip and thought about it for a moment as Crystal eyed the Wiurn warily. She wasn't sure what to do about this, but the thicker fur on the beast might be good for them, she thought. The woman nodded a little with a sigh and called to her, "Alright, get in the air, fly!" Crystal jumped and beat her wings against the air as quickly and hard as she could, getting into the air so she could hopefully have a little better advantage on this. The Wiurn would probably fly at this point too though, so she needed to figure out if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Jack sighed, pushing her hair back, she wasn't ready for this tournament at all, she should have trained better, but... oh well, hindsight and all that, she supposed with a low chuckle as she thought about it.

Being up against a prey animal again, Xentus was feeling fairly confident in the power of the wiurn. He did well to never underestimate their opponents though, watching the hooved creature carefully to see what it was going to do. One could never be so sure what anything around here was capable of.. But thankfully it didn't seem like it had any particular fancy trick - it simply looked like it was going to make use of its wings.. Alright then, another aerial battle it would be! [Follow suit. Take flight, Alé], the man commanded through their mental link. A wiurn fared much better in the air than on the ground anyway, so this worked just fine for them. Alerios offered no response to its keeper aside from action, rearing back and unfurling its large wings. The heavy wingbeats combined with a leap gave the reptile enough power to take to the air and it gave chase after the winged horse.

Jack grinned as Crystal took to the air quickly, though faltered a little as the Wiurn rose up too. Ah well, she knew it had to know how to fly, but it didn't mean she had to be happy about it she figured with a low chuckle. She smiled over at the familiar face in the stands of Xentus and then eyed Crystal again before nodding and telling her through the Ribbon, "Okay, try spout I suppose." Crystal whinnied and let flames lick out of her mouth toward the Wiurn, sure it wouldn't hurt him but giving it a shot. It wasn't like she could really do anything else at this point she figured with a grunt. Oh well, the woman knew what to do, she knew that much, and as the fire finished coming out of her mouth, she pulled up again into the air a little higher, hoping she wouldn't get hit either.

There was a growing anticipation stemming from the wiurn as it gained altitude - the thrill of the hunt, as it would seem. Alerios was ready for anything. Or nearly anything. The beast was taken aback at seeing fire welling within the equillion's mouth; its mind flashed back to the fight with the rival wiurn.. [Steady now, Alé], Xentus warned, seeing this too, [Let it hear you roar!]. They were not going to falter here. Losing to fire in a tournament revolving around winter and ice seemed cheap, though he knew it was not unfair. It was certainly a solid strategy to win, so he couldn't discredit it. The man's confidence steeled the wiurn as it flew. It steadied itself then loosed a booming roar with hope to break the prey animal's focus, even if it would be only for a moment. That would give them the chance to home in and strike..

Well, there went their ability to win, Jack thought with a small laugh as the Wiurn roared. Crystal had nothing to defend against that, well, it was a good shot, but they would still try! Not like... they would be able to do anything. Still chuckling, she tried to talk the Equillion through it, but there wasn't much she could do, it was like talking to a wall at the moment she thought with a little sigh, Crystal couldn't hear anything or really process anything right now. Hmm, but it would be interesting if they could fix that at some point, though she wasn't sure what would work. Ear plugs.
Crystal whinnied and cried out, faltering with her wings for a little while as she started to fall from the sky, but she finally caught herself and limped back into the air before hitting the ground. She would get over this, she would!

The burst of flames spouting from the equillion was narrowly missed. Still, that much was a great relief. Xentus let out the breath he'd been reflexively been holding. They weren't going to have a repeat of their last encounter with fire. Even with the healing after the fight, the phantom pains of the burns lingered.. That wasn't something he wanted to put Alerios through again. But, there was no time to reminisce about that now. The equillion had faltered from the rattling roar. [Send it to the ground - wing, Alé!], the leopard commanded as he stared up into the air. The horse had fallen fell most of the way down, and with the wiurn looming above, a flurry of wind to send it crashing would bode well. Alerios loosed a snort as it positioned itself high over its prey. It flared its wings out wide, then bared down with heavy beats to send a cascade of buffeting wind down below.
